Came to check out Huevo house. We arrive a little after 10am on a Saturday. Located in front of the Home Depot the parking lot is as pretty full but luckily we were able to find an open space quickly. Coming there were quite a few groups inside which made me think we might be waiting a long time. We checked in and the estimated wait 15-20 minutes to be seated but pleasantly it was only about 10 min before we sat down. The space is very clean and all the dishes coming out smelled good. The menu had several options that we felt were fairly priced. I got the coffee flight. It did take a bit for that to come out. My one wish is that they had more information about what the flavors were. I believe mine were regular iced coffee, and horchata/cinnamon, peanut butter and then caramel. My husband order the Country Benedict and I got the chilaquiles with birria and avocado. We both really enjoyed our breakfast choices. The portions were a good size. He said his meal reminded him of an old Zingos breakfast item. My chilaquiles had a great salsa verde. Really nice bright tang though no heat to it but a couple of dashes of hot sauce did the trick. The Birria was tender and I was most pleasantly surprised with the beans on the side. Very creamy and flavorful. Steven was our server and made sure to check on us frequently. He handled his section well and engaged with all his tables. He gave us some recommendations for next time we come in. All in all it was a great first experience. Huevo House has easily become one of our favorite brunch restaurants in the area. This place is huge and always buzzing with people giving it a great vibe. The inside is so picturesque with beautiful paintings on the walls. Food here is very flavorful and portions are on the generous side. Wide variety of breakfast usuals and burgers/wraps/salads. My personal favorite is their Chilaquiles and the Chicken Avocado Bacon Sandwich. I also devour their pancakes and french toasts. My husband just loves their El Diablo Omlette and Country Benedict. If you came here to drink, they got you covered! Lots of different mimosas, margaritas, and other drinks. They have a good selection of hard liquor too. Their mimosa flight is the best and a must try! They also have amazing coffee and shakes options. Lastly, their service is fast & friendly! The entire staff is polite and accommodating. This was our 1st visit. Staff were friendly and service was great. Food was just ok. I didn't care for the biscuits and gravy. I've had better. Everyone was very friendly and it seemed like there was a lot of extra people. I'm assuming this is because it's still their first week. We were seated quickly. My husband ordered a bloody Mary and I ordered the Keylime mango margarita. For food, he ordered an omelette, hash brown biscuit and gravy And I was adventurous. Ordering the Birria Benedict. My husband liked his. The biscuits and gravy were great. I do enjoy that they were a meat gravy. I was a little less impressed with my Benedict. This place just opened, and the first thing that needs improvement is the customer service. I feel that this is the their first time running a business like this and I understand things take time so hopefully with time they get better. We were a group of four, my friend got there before we did by about 5 minutes. They were hesitant to seat her because the rest of the party wasn't there, this would be understandable if the restaurant was busy but there were only four other customers there and plenty of places to sit. With a name like Huevo House, I was expecting a different menu. They did offer a few different items like the Birria omelet, but I think my mind was expecting to be blown away with a lot of egg options, hence the name Huevo House. Our waitress was pleasant and friendly, but it seemed like she was new in the service industry. It took a while to bring out our drinks. In fact, after a long moment, I had to remind her that we still hadn't gotten them. We ordered our food, and it did come out in a timely manner. There was nothing special about the plating or the presentation. The food was just placed on the plate. My daughter ordered the Birria omelet she said it was good, but her potatoes were Lukewarm. I ordered the Frisco burger, which did come on cheese bread and a side of fries. My friend ordered the Jalapeño egg burger, and she seemed pleased with it. My grandson ordered off the kids' menu, and he got the pancake with a slice of bacon and sausage link. He said his pancake was hard to cut, so I helped him. The restaurant is in the old Bob's Big Boy location on Ming Ave. It's still BBB layout it just has reupholstered seating and new decorative paint. I'm not sure if I'll want to revisit this place on my own, maybe if it's picked by a friend for a gathering but I don't see myself wanting to come back to try it again. read more

Food was good, the fries were crunchy and tasty, definitely the highlight of the meal, I like the bun that they used for the sandwich as well. Ambiance was a bit loud for my liking, we were sitting below a speaker and asked to switched tables to which they were super accommodating. Service was very nice too. They have a lot of alcohol drinks and I feel like this is where the appeal is for this place, not my personal favorite but definitely a must for some people so you might enjoy it. I tried this place on a busy Saturday around 11am. We waited about 30 minutes to be seated (party of 2). It is beautiful inside. Definitely gives vibes of LA or SOCAL brunch places. Ordered the mimosa flight of 3- it was really good but we received our drinks when we were almost done with our food. Food was ok, I ordered the chilaquiles and my friend ordered the Diablo omelette. My food was a little cold. Still edible to where I was ok eating it. I know they have been open for a couple days maybe 2-3 weeks? I'm giving them the benefit of the doubt since they just opened. I woke up one morning having been told a of a new and upcoming restaurant with good reviews. Excited for a new and exciting experience, I entered it with high expectations. Having said that my initial thought of Huevo House had an enclosed Colombian Street vibe. With an open floor concept, bright yellow seats and white walls halfway covered in colorful tiles; the restaurant was filled with conversations and an upbeat Hispanic pop music which gave the restaurant a cheery vibe. The staff was still in their new restaurant phase with smiles and cheerful attitude, which made the experience even more "bright and sunny" for a weekday breakfast. I had the classic country fried steak and eggs with country potatoes, sourdough toast, and the gravy on the side. I would prefer my country potatoes to be a little more on the crisp side but the added fire roasted peppers made up for it. As for the country fried steak itself, I would say it is in my top 5 country fried steaks here in Bakersfield. The sourdough toast did come out a bit over toasted to be enjoyed with the tableside jams, but I would have to say it was nice to have been able to put my own butter on the toast. My wife indulged herself in a Belgian waffle with fresh cut bananas drizzled with caramel sauce. She was surprised as she took her first bite to hear the satisfying crunch of a crispy, fluffy waffle. As of now, I would highly recommend this restaurant, so keep up the good work Huevo House, we are interested in seeing how things turn out three months down the line. read more

Came here for a late breakfast around 10-11. Didn't know what to expect walking in. It's a cute little shop black and white checkered floors with yellow decor around. Tables aren't packed together and spread around nicely. The menu had a bit of everything and I Ordered huevos rancheros and the empanadas with the house coffee. This place is really cute. I love the bright colors and neon lights. The service was pretty good, one our servers with colorful hair was really sweet and helpful. I ordered the premium cold coffee flight, the pistachio had a nutty flavor and wasn't very sweet. The abuelita was sweet and had a sweet cinnamon flavor, it was by far my favorite. The horchata was underwhelming and had way too much cinnamon on top. The mazapán cold coffee was off putting, the chunks of mazapán at the bottom did not taste good and it really didn't have much flavor other than that. The hungry coyote skillet had good flavor but the portion was pretty small. The biscuits and gravy were not good IMO, the chunks of ham of whatever it was were really spongy and I did not like the bits of dried rosemary. The hot mess came with a lot of food but for how most breakfast places are it was still not what I expected. The chicken was really crispy and juicy. The waffles were thick and fluffy. I wanted something different today, so I decided to give Huevo House a try. I'm so glad I did because it was literally so delicious and I felt so comfortable eating. Great service, very welcoming. Norma made sure we were good on everything, and was very professional and sweet. And she made my wife and I smile more than a few times when she came to our table. The food was standard with a few key options to add a little change to breakfast but not a lot for me to make the 5 hour trip from Sacramento to Bakersfield for it. Finally tried this place out. It's a great brunch place. They're style is a modern and contemporary design. Not your typical Mexican restaurant. The food is plated very elegantly and it tastes better than it looks. They say you eat with your eyes first. Great place for families or brunch with the girls with mimosas and Bloody Mary's. I personally tried they're Birria Skillet which is your choice of hashbrowns or country potatoes I choose country with 2 eggs your way. I choose sunny side up. And your choice of toast or biscuits and gravy. I choose biscuits and gravy. The food was delicious the service was great. This exact building before use to be an Indian restaurant and before that Bob's Big boy and before that Bakers Square Restaurant and pies. Hopefully this restaurant stays there longer. They have a kids menu and a senior menu. They had me at the coffee. I say I had about 5-6 cups. For me if the coffee and the service and the biscuits and gravy are good I will definitely come back. With that being said if your in the mood for a modern style Mexican restaurant for brunch come by and check them out. Cant wait to go back and try out they're take on eggs Benedict. Huevo House is my favorite restaurant in town for when everyone wants something different or a different genre of food. From their AMAZING Fish and Chips to the Chiquilities (sic) . An amazing bar that opens when the restaurant does and a coffee bar. The owners are wonderful and friendly and their staff is friendly, helpful and always there to fill your cup and check on you while not being pesty. The prices are more than fair! read more
