    Biscuits and gravy

First time here and I found me another winner! Hubby and I stopped in for breakfast. Place is pretty big inside, lots of booth type seating with an old fashion breakfast bar, with many stools to sit at too. It's pretty bright inside too, gets lots of natural sunlight and is very clean. Reminds me of an old school diner from the 90s... A bit outdated furniture wise and their ceiling reminds me of an elementary school cafeteria, but overall it's a welcoming environment. (And they were playing some classic oldies lightly in the background too! Nice.) Wasn't crowded at all on a Tuesday morning. Plenty of parking too. Walked in and was immediately greeted and seated by a very friendly waitress and then given our menus and asked for our drink orders... There was lots to choose from on their menus too. So we ended up getting the chili omelet with hash browns and biscuits and gravy. And the combo breakfast of 1 egg, 2 bacon and biscuits and gravy. Plus two orange juices. Food took a decent amount of time to get served like 15mins), but that just means they were cooking it fresh. :) Beautiful presentation! Big portions! Steaming hot food! Yes! Yes! Yes! Everything was SO good! And tasted so fresh! Bacon was thick and cooked perfectly. Overeasy egg was picture perfect and cooked well. Biscuits were fluffy and soft (not overly big) and gravy was thick and creamy and so well flavored. The hash browns were browned just right. And the chili omelette was made with homemade chili! And my hubby loved every bite of it. 5/5 for the food all the way! The orange juices even tasted freshly squeezed! Served in tall, sparkling, and clean glasses, they were very tasty and refreshing! Yum. They got slices of homemade pie for like 3 or 4 bucks, & homemade cookies for 2$ and a little gift shop set up inside in a very tasteful way. Definitely want to come back for some of that pie though!! Plus I read a few reviews mentioning their green chili, so now I'm intrigued with that too! If you are a fan of diners and awesome food and great service, then you should check them out!!

Came in after trying to eat a Tina Marie's but was treated rudely so we left and cane here! Glad we did. We were seated immediately. Very friendly staff. I ordered the chili verde omelette- wow! So delicious but pretty spicy so beware! Wife ordered the green chili omelette and she enjoyed it as well. Coffee was delicious and servers came often for refills! We love the cozy diner feel here and can't wait to come back!!

We've been coming here every Thursday for awhile now and really enjoy coming here. The service is great and our waitress is very friendly and brings our food right away. I love this sandwich it's so good, the only thing is the fries have no salt when it comes to the table and I'm having to salt them myself. Sounds like nitpicking when I actually write this but fries need seasoning. It's my only complaint. I'll continue to come here. One thing I do appreciate is the ambience, you can hear yourself think and talk, you don't have to get loud to hear each other.

The Service was friendly and efficient. I got a club sandwich with fries, it was fresh and tasty! It has an old fashioned vibe.

NY steak was amazingly tender and cooked perfectly, the kind of steak that really does not need much done to it because the flavor already speaks for itself. They served it with chimichurri sauce, which just was not exactly my cup of tea, but once I added Worcestershire sauce, it really brought out the flavor of an already all-star steak. The Chicken Fried Steak 'n' Eggs with hash browns was also very tasty Steak even the batter had flavor and definitely worth it. The chicken fried steak had that good comfort food quality to it, with a crispy outside, tender bite, and a savory flavor that worked really well with the eggs. The hash browns helped round everything out nicely and even the biscuits and gravy which im generally not a fan of was very good. Service from Holly, and I hope I got that right, was amazing from start to finish. She was friendly, attentive, and made the visit feel easy and comfortable. Even the iced tea stood out to me because it tasted like the homemade sun tea I make every year by the pool, and that gave the whole meal an extra familiar touch. Overall, this was a very strong visit with a standout steak, a satisfying breakfast plate, and excellent service.

The Dish: I went with the pumpkin pancakes topped with pecan butter, plus a side of bacon. Fun fact: this exact dish was actually featured on Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives! The Flavor Profile: To say these pumpkin pancakes were good is an understatement, they were absolutely to die for. As the pecan butter melted over the top, it created the perfect rich sauce, and the crunchy pecan bits scattered throughout the pancakes gave every single bite an amazing texture. Eating this felt exactly like a cozy October morning. The Verdict: Between the perfect diner nostalgia and those incredible pancakes, this breakfast was a total home run. Our waiter spilled an entire tray of iced teas and waters next to/on us, and then left to change his apron and serve other tables while we sat dripping and ignored for nearly 15 mins until I had to flag someone down to help us clean because my shoes were soaked through and the liquid river continued under our table (he handed me a few napkins until I insisted on an actual mop, which he obliged with an audible sigh). Someone finally put down a wet floor sign, and considering all the elderly diners they didn't seem concerned about the giant puddle in the walkway that went ignored. I don't care about the spill, but just apologize and clean up - don't disappear and then come back only to announce that you're going on break. We finally got another server to take our order, but it was such an odd "we don't like non-locals" vibe that we ate quickly and got outta there. We pass through Bakersfield often during road trips, but will skip this next time.
