This place is legit! Located in downtown Las Vegas 4 queens hotel, it's very vintage and old school! We ordered fillet mignon and salmon, entree comes with salad and made table side, bf got the classic Caesars and I got the orange vinaigrette which was absolutely the most delicious salad I've ever eaten!! I would just go there and eat that salad if I could! And they gave you an molten chocolate cake with ice cream for anniversary celebration, bread service was good. And they also gave you an intermezzo of lemon sorbet before serving their entree which was very refreshing. Oh and after entree's, they brought out a plate of chocolate covered strawberries and dried fruit with whipped cream served on the side. We also ordered banana foster which was great!! This place is phenomenal for a nice date night. Be prepared to drop some coin, but it is a special experience. They greet women with a rose and the ambience is very romantic. Had a later dinner reservation, host gave red roses when he sat us which I wasn't expecting so it was a sweet surprise! It's dimly lit inside the restaurant and the booths are comfortable! Loved the table side salad service and portion size! Service was very nice and attentive The potato au gratin was not as blue cheesy as I was expecting but still good! You do have to pay extra for them so I was a little disappointed! The steak was cooked and seasoned well. Unfortunately the crab was sooo salty it was difficult for me to enjoy! I visited a while back and had a lovely time at this old school establishment. This reminds me of old Vegas, with its dimly lit, cozy interior. When you walk in, all the ladies are greeted with a rose, classy. True to form, they serve classic dishes that you don't see much these days like beef Wellington, salad carts with table side prep, and seafood towers. We got the salad cart and tried surf and Turk, stuffed mushrooms, lobster bisque and steak Oscar. All were excellent! This is definitely not a modern restaurant by any means but DT Las Vegas is the perfect location to delight your tastebuds and transport you back to an earlier era. read more

One of the amazing Vegas "old school" restaurants remaining. The food is flavorful, the service wonderful and the ambiance that was once common but is rarely experienced these days, is worth booking a table before it is gone. Some unique choices include table side salads, as well as flambés. We enjoyed and recommend the Maryland Stuffed Mushrooms, Rack of Lamb, Beef Wellington (Better than the Hells Kitchen group whose we enjoyed) and Cherries Jubilee. Besides the extraordinary wait staff, our sommelier was able to share with wine tales of his service to Frank Sinatra. We welcomed his assistance and were rewarded with wonderful wine. My hope is Hugo's Cellar is there until someone is telling tales of that old Las Vegas couple who used to stop by. Our only complaint is directed toward the Four Queens Hotel & Casino. The fire alarm was malfunctioning and would not stop going off (as told to us by Four Queens employees was a regular thing... insanity, get this taken care of) which almost forced our cancellation (migraine sufferers do not do well with flashing lights and loud repeating sirens). What a fun and classy dining experience. When you walk in you are greeted by the hostess (ladies are given a long stem rose) and there is a small bar to the left which gives off that old Vegas feeling. Eric was our server and he was great! He makes a mean salad! The salad was probably my favorite part of the meal, as it's served table side and customized for each person. My brother and I ordered the escargot en croute. It comes out piping hot so be careful when you eat it. The pastry was browned perfectly and the escargot was tender and soaked in butter. Next we were given sorbet to cleanse our palates. I ordered the rack of lamb. I loved it. I ordered medium and it came out medium. Delicious. The mint sauce they provide is creamy and compliments the lamb nicely. Had the most amazing time. Waitstaff is so amazing they are always on top of anything you shall need. When I went here I felt like I was not in Vegas anymore it felt like a totally complete experience. I had the salmon and it was so good nice and juicy and the lemon herb sauce paired so well with it. Their salad cart is the best salad I have ever had love that they have so many options to choose from for toppers. The crème brûlée tasted amazing and is great as well item to share the strawberries just topped it all off. If you want an experience out of regular Vegas dining this one is top notch. The food is consistently good. I had prime rib and it was cooked perfectly. The sides of asparagus and mashed potatoes included with it are delicious. The personal salad made to order at our table is really good. A dessert of chocolate covered strawberries, figs, and apricots is served. This is a review for my experience 31 Yrs ago at this fine restaurant. My husband and I enjoyed our wedding night dinner here. Due to a sudden illness and my expected temporary absence in the work force, my fiancé and I decided to fly to Las Vegas to get married instead of planning a traditional wedding. After the ceremony we asked locals where we might find a nice restaurant to celebrate and received several recommendations for Hugo's Cellar Little did we know, reservations were required. But we showed up after the ceremony in my wedding dress and small group for dinner. The receptionist congratulated us and said they would make a table for us. Everyone was so kind and happy for us, the food delicious, and we were happy that they accommodated us when they didn't have to. Now for the best unexpected part.... While we were enjoying dinner they decorated a cake top for us, serving knife and fork and presented it at the conclusion of dinner. We were so impressed. Also, the restaurant had a tradition of gifting all female diners with a long stem rose at the end of their dining experience. As several customers had finished their visit, they stopped past our table and gave me their rose along with best wishes for a long and happy marriage. Here it is 31 years later and we're still together. It made my wedding night extra special. Thank you thank you thank you for caring that much. read more

We made reservations here again this year to celebrate our birthdays. Because of Covid and more limited seating, I could only get reservations on Sunday at 5:30. Oh well, early Sunday dinner it was. We walked in right on time and they were waiting with a rose for me. They give them to all the ladies. It's a nice touch especially because the last time I got a rose was last year when we ate here. Haha The dinners here are all inclusive for the price on the menu. The dinners come with a table side salad (worth every penny) a side (potatoes or rice), vegetable, a very nice bread basket, a lemon sorbet palate cleanser, and chocolate dipped strawberries, apricots, and figs for dessert. The table side salad is probably my favorite part of the meal. They bring a mobile salad bar and basically they will add whatever you want. The salad bar has anchovies, bay shrimp, artichokes and hearts of Palm, mushrooms, tomatoes, hard boiled eggs, cheese, onions, pine nuts, croutons, and your choice of 3 salad dressings. The honey orange vinaigrette is my favorite. My husband ordered the surf and turf. He enjoyed everything except the Brussels sprouts. He's not a fan. I had the Alaskan King Crab legs. They were delicious. I enjoy crab that's already cracked way more than crab I have to crack myself. The rice pilaf was good and I liked the Brussels sprouts. The chocolate covered fruits were good. The apricots were my favorite. They also brought us a nice chocolate lava cake for our birthdays. We were already so stuffed. Service was top notch from start to finish. Amazing experience. Worth every penny. This is the go to steak house in Vegas. The salad is a work of art.

When you spend $245 for dinner for two, including tax & tip, and the best thing is the tableside salad, something is really wrong. The escargot appetizer was too chewy. The Beef Wellington was astonishingly rare. Perhaps that is how it is usually made but considering we had almost ordered pork chops and at medium-medium rare, it would have been nice for the waiter to say something. The puff pastry wasn't anything remarkable either. And this may sound odd, but the dish was really much too big. Easily could have been shared by two people. Only about 1/3 of it was eaten. $95 for a dish that was maybe a 5 on a 1-10 scale. The other entree we got was salmon. The roasted potatoes weren't very good, rather greasy. Not really roasted in flavor or appearance. The salmon itself was meh. Not especially tasty. Nothing special. For $58 I expected more. I only ate maybe 1/3 of it. If it had been half that price, at $29, I still would have been disappointed. read more

One of the worst prime ribs I've ever had. It was so tough with no flavor. Worst experience.!!!

First time there and it surely didn't disappoint. The salad was great, made at the table. The seafood trio was delicious, it included scallops, jumbo shrimp and salmon and sides. Friends had filet mignon, ribeye and New York steak and everything was cooked to everyone's liking. Ended it with chocolate covered strawberries, dry apricots and figs. Between salad and the main course they give a small lemon sorbet to rinse your pallet. Great job to everyone. A must when in Las Vegas read more

This was our second time to Hugo's and we enjoyed it, but it was not without some flaws. First, the host and two of our servers were spectacular (my tip reflected that as well). Our third server (primary) was nice but slow to get us drinks, he said my ribeye came with mushrooms but they were served with green beans...there were misses that shouldn't have happened. The steaks are pricey ($80+) but remember that with that you receive bottled water, table side salad (delicious), veg and potato with the entree, and a small dessert fruit tray that can substitute for an actual dessert. That makes the price reasonable. My ribeye was cooked medium rare as ordered but it looked...grey on the plate. I'm used to seeing a glistening piece of steak and there was a little pool of butter on it but otherwise wasn't the prettiest ribeye I've seen. The taste was fine but I was surprised by the presentation. We received a special dessert for our anniversary and that was sweet of them to do that. I have to say that their drink prices are very reasonable - get the old fashioned, it's delicious. read more

We have been to a lot of restaurants in Las Vegas and I have to say that Hugo's Cellar is the place to go for a great meal. It isn't inexpensive, but it is worth every penny. We had 4 people and were seated promptly at our reservation time. They will actually validate your parking if you part in the 4 Queens or Binions -- nice touch. The atmosphere is like an upscale cellar -- tables are not too close and the noise level is such that it is lively, but you can still carry on a nice conversation. The menu is extensive - with lots of good sounding appetizers, fish, steak, chicken -- lots of variety. Every meal comes with a salad and starch (potato, rice etc) and a dessert of chocolate covered strawberries, figs and apricots. The salad prepared at tableside is really a nice touch. You can have your choice of 3 dressings (caesar, a vinigrette ...and I don't remember the last one). Once the salad itself is mixed, the server asks you about 8 different choices for toppings. Tomato, red onion, parmesan cheese, hearts of palm and artichokes, eggs, baby shrimp, cranberries, pine nuts and I'm sure a few more that I forgot. It was delicious. My husband had the duck which he said was excellent. He had the horse radish and blue cheese au gratin potatoes, which he said didnt taste a lot like blue cheese. I had the petit surf and turf (filet and prawns). Done perfectly and the prawns were just right -- firm and not overdone. It came with fingerling potatoes (one of the side choices) and green and white asparagus -- very nice. Another in our group had the steak and crab legs. There were enough crab legs to feed everyone!! For dessert we had the cherries jubilee and the other couple had the bananas foster. Prepared tableside -- so much fun --- I haven't been to a place that does this in quite a while. They served the desserts on big goblets of ice cream. Delicious!! Overall our bill for drinks, dinner and dessert for 4 people was approximately $600+ (not including tip) I would absolutely make the drive down to Fremont Street again to eat here. We had a reservation we're seated immediately. We were given roses, which was very nice. We were told that we had two servers and they immediately came over to take our drink order which was fine but felt we were rushed. The way they served the drinks was great! They immediately came back for our dinner order and didn't give us time to settle in and relax for a moment. The server Kathleen seemed a little annoyed was changing my order. They had a nice salad that was made at the table for each of us individually. As soon as the salad was removed, they immediately brought over our steaks. We were told the plates were sizzling hot, which they were, but my baked potato was lukewarm and I sent it back. They did bring back a hot baked potato, but this should never happen in this kind of restaurant. A hot sizzling plate will not make cold food hot. My asparagus was also lukewarm, but I was so annoyed that I didn't send that back. Shame on a restaurant of this caliber and expense to serve lukewarm food. The other couple with us also got a big potato, but she kept hers and did not send it back, although it was lukewarm as well. They never really checked on us. They were more concerned with getting the food out, but never asked how it was. We were all very disappointed and will never come back. We were given array of desserts that were OK but everything was just mediocre at this point. If you're going to spend a lot of money on a meal, treat yourself to another restaurant that prides itself and serving hard food hot! read more

My Seabass was not very memorable and could use more flavor, but my husband truly enjoyed his prime rib dinner. I would suggest ordering the complete dinner if you go. It's well worth it because it comes with your choice of sides. their famous salad bar cart...which they make at your table Chocolate covered strawberries, which were huge and even included a pallet cleanser before your entrée was served. The other thing I would love for them to do would be to update their 1970s decor but that could be their signature look!! Overall I think the price for our all inclusive meal was pretty reasonable when you compare it to other steakhouses, who charge an arm and a leg just for the steak and do not include sides or a salad or dessert. read more

Already been to Oscar's steakhouse and Hugo's was recommended. Prices were on point. Had a drink at the bar while waiting for our table. 8p reservation on a Saturday night. Table side salad was amazing. Plenty of toppings to choose from. 3 dressings available. Fresh bread and butter with salad. Nice and bright inside. I like Oscar's steakhouse but too dark. A lot better when you can see your food. Steaks were cooked to order. I like how veggies and potatoes are included. Not a la carte. Chocolate covered strawberries, apricots and homemade whipped cream at the end. Service was great. Would definitely come back. I love the old Vegas steak house feel. It's a dying breed. Many times I been to this place for dinner and it never fails so good. The place is fine dining where the courses are spaced put from each other. From appetizers to the main course to dessert. We ordered appetizers first, stuff mushrooms, crab cakes, escargots, and spinach artichoke dip. It was very so good. The bread basket filled with lavosh, and buns were good too. Then salad made by tableside. They ask what you want on its from boil eggs, artichoke, hearts of palms, mushrooms, red onions, pine nuts, croutons, anchovy and can't remember the rest. Now there's a small cone of sherbet to cleanse your palate before the main course. I had the prime rib, my brother had seafood trio, my husband had crabs legs, and my cousin had roasted chicken. Celebrating a few Birthdays tonight and wanted to come here. Being as there are 10 of us, it would not allow a reservations online for more than 6. Emailed over 24 hours ago and was pleased to receive a response fairly quickly from "reservations". Said the restaurant would be in touch. One star is for NO response. We are all locals and with so many top notch restaurants in this town, we will be happy to dine elsewhere.
