Incredible prime rib, probably the best I've ever had. We ordered the prime rib, ribeye, and New York strip. The only mistake we made was ordering the ribeye and New York strip medium. The prime rib was medium rare and it was tender , juicy, and packed with flavor. One thing I appreciated was that it was very calm atmosphere, even though the place was packed, you can easily have a conversation. The staff was friendly, and the overall vibe felt warm and welcoming.

I will be honest, I had a preconceived notion that because The Steakhouse is located inside Circus Circus, that it would be low quality. My fiance has been trying to convince me to go here for our anniversary dinner for years and I finally gave in. While it is located inside Circus Circus, the moment you enter the restaurant you are transported to any upscale, old school steakhouse. The hostess was very kind and promptly seated us for our reservation. We walked past the open concept kitchen on our way to our table. We were seated at a booth and the staff was attentive from the moment we sat down. Our water glasses were never less than a quarter empty and we were checked on frequently. While we pondered the menu, we ordered our cocktails. A French 75 for me and a Manhattan for my fiance. Both drinks were as expected, light and refreshing for mine and strong for his. We placed our order and within a few minutes received the most delicious bread service consisting of onion rolls and pretzel rolls. Both varieties were warm and so soft. After having the onion roll, I didn't think the pretzel roll would compare but it was just as delicious. I honestly would have been happy with a basket of the rolls for my dinner. The complementary bread is very appreciated in a world of charging for bread service. We received our salad and soup in short order. The house salad was large for an appetizer and the red wine vinaigrette was a bright note. My fiance ordered the French onion soup for the upcharge and enjoyed it. While we both agreed it wasn't the best we'd had, it was still good and had the rich umami flavor you crave. Our entrees were perfectly timed and arrived just as we were finishing our starters. Our steaks were both slightly under what we ordered (medium rare for me and medium for him), but they were close enough that we didn't want to be "those people" and send them back. The steaks were so tender and seasoned perfectly. My filet came with a bearnaise sauce on the side, which I gave to my fiance. He said it had good flavor and used it for some of his steak, but ultimately decided it took away from the flavor of the steak itself. The garlic mashed potatoes and carrots were both so buttery and delicious. You absolutely get a big bang for your buck here! I made three meals out of my entree and my fiance made two of his, which he's never done before. That said, they do not sacrifice quality for quantity, which is what I was worried about. This steakhouse rivals any of the others in Vegas. Finally, our waiter was very kind and brought us a huge slice of a delicious chocolate mousse cake for our anniversary. While we were both full, the cake was too good to resist. I'm not one to repeat steakhouses, but I've already decided that I'll be bringing family from out of town here for dinner as it was so good- the service, the ambiance and the food. Do yourself a favor and don't let any bias get in your way of trying this delicious steakhouse.

Crab Cakes. 5/5! More crab than cake!

My Greatest Meal of the Year was had right here inside Circus Circus! This fine dining establishment looks unassuming from the outside and hardly fits the surrounding trinket shop and arcade atmosphere. It feels like entering a secret portal to an Old Vegas speakeasy that might have seated the likes of such legends as Elvis and Sinatra. From our very patient server, Chae, to Johnny the host/maitre d who gave us a tour of the dry aged meat locker, the open hearth grill in the center of the action, and the Old Vegas charm of a bygone era perfectly intact since the days VIPs might have dined here, it was a marvelous treat to dine within these walls, to say the least. The menu is very simple and straightforward: House veggie (no choice) and choice of meat, starch, and Black Bean soup or House salad -- all included with the meal. The meal also includes a delightful medley of onion (fave), pretzel, and wheat rolls to round out their bread basket. I highly recommend enhancing the meal with the addition of their fabulous Crab Cakes, which are some of the best I've ever had and more crab than cake! Black Bean Soup vs. House Salad Between the Black Bean Soup and House Salad, my vote is for the Salad. It's not your average boring side salad but offers good variety, like mushrooms and beets. Though, I do wish their Caesar dressing was housemade with real anchovies like at Golden Steer! The Black Bean Soup is decent, too, and elevated by the sherry and shallots on the side. I just wish the soup itself had more flavor. Baked Potato vs. Garlic Mashed Potato Definitely get the Baked Potato! It comes with a mini condiment buffet of fresh butter, minced chives, sour cream, and bacon confetti I like to liberally sprinkle over my steak! Porterhouse vs. Rib Eye (On The Bone) Overall, I'd recommend the Porterhouse for tender, melt in your mouth beef at its best. That being said, if you're willing to put up with occasional tendon and slightly more chewing, the Rib Eye rewards you with more chargrilled flavor. Last but certainly not least, I wanted to mention my sincere appreciation for everyone's patience with my rambunctious toddler, who dined with us recently for our anniversary. This place does not allow takeout but after years of pining to try it out, we held our noses and decided this was the opportunity to finally dive/dine in! It was harrowing at times but successful overall. I wouldn't exactly call this restaurant "child friendly" but the staff does make an effort to accommodate little ones so don't be intimidated, parents! Though, I really do wish they would reconsider allowing me to take my Porterhouse TO-GO! If this place offered online/phone orders like other steakhouses in the area, it would easily be one of my top choices for special occasions.

    House salad with bleu cheese

We were able to be seated early before our reservation, which was nice. We had David, a friendly and attentive server. The salads were delicious, with beets, carrots, grape tomatoes, onions, cucumber and croutons. Their bleu cheese dressing is marvelous, with lots of yummy chunks. See my photos. We ordered one small filet mignon and one New York steak. We also included a lobster tail, which looked to be at least 7 or 8 oz, shelled. Unfortunately, the lobster tail was chewy and rubbery, well overcooked. The replacement lobster tail was much better, but still a tiny bit overcooked. The steaks were tender, tasty and properly cooked to order. However, they weren't the best steaks in town, like many people say. We have had plenty of better steaks at various unnamed places. My New York steak was delicious. However, it wasn't as tender as I expected a dry aged prime cut to be, 8/10. Maybe it's not prime? The filet mignon was very delicious, tender and juicy, but not quite as tender as expected. Steamed whole "teenage" carrots were served with the meal, which were very good. We both ordered garlic mashed potatoes. I thought they were okay, but my wife said they weren't that good. It's nice that the vegetables, potatoes (or rice pilaf) and black bean soup (or salad) are all included with the meal. Two different breads were served with butter; pretzel bread and some type of cheese bread (I think). Overall, I give the food a 4/5. And, because the food is the most important part of any restaurant, that is also my overall score. Nicely decorated interior with low lighting with old school decorations. Classic Las Vegas crooner music played in the background. The meat is grilled in the middle of the restaurant. Overall, a nice visit. We both just wish the steaks would have been 10/10, as we expected. And, they really don't know their way around a lobster tail. Our first, but probably our last, visit.

Friends and acquaintances had been telling me for years how good THE Steak House is inside Circus Circus, but I hadn't had the chance to go until now. I'd actually stayed at Circus Circus before and didn't expect such a welcome respite from the family entertainment inside this classy, old school steakhouse with kind of a hunter's lodge motif (with forest green walls and taxidermy, that sort of thing). The night before Thanksgiving I had a reservation but I didn't need one, it was pretty quiet in there which was actually really nice. The service was exceptional and I loved just sitting at my table (dining alone) soaking in the vibes. Five stars for both ambiance and staff. I was pleasantly surprised at how good the dinner salad was--something that too often gets overlooked at a restaurant, but this one was really stellar, with beets and carrots and mushrooms and a top-notch blue cheese dressing. When my entree came out, however, it seemed like it had been sitting under a heat lamp for a while--particularly the mashed potatoes, which had a bit of a "left out too long" crust on the outside. The mashed potatoes had good flavor, though, and I enjoyed them with the carrots (which I would not normally eat but tasted good to me that night). The steak didn't seem medium rare both texture- and temperature-wise, more like medium, but it was very tender (although the texture was stringy/shreddy, more like pot roast, which makes me wonder how they tenderized it). Nothing concerning enough for me to send it back, but not good enough to make me want to come back for it. I would, however, come back just for the vibes and service and get a salad and an appetizer or just try something non-steak off the menu.

    Prime Rib Of Beef

My sister recommended I come here, and it did not disappoint. Circus Circus itself is pretty dilapidated, but that has no bearing on THE SteakHouse. It's got a very cosy, old-school vibe with lots of dark wood and a hushed atmosphere befitting a real-deal steakhouse. I got the petite prime rib. Wow. The quality of the meat was outstanding, and it was expertly prepared at a perfect medium rare. The meat was flavorful and juicy, yielding tenderly in each bite. Also, it was a generous cut: I couldn't finish it and 1) I sorely wanted to and 2) that never happens to me when eating out. I also really enjoyed the horseradish and au jus it came with. The horseradish was two ways (cream and straight) and both were very good complements to the richness of the meat.

Phenomenal! And that alone doesn't even do it justice. This is vintage old-school Vegas at its finest. Dry aged steaks that are top-notch, service that is completely unprecedented and the ambience that everyone desires when looking for top-notch find dining experiences. Most employees have worked here 30+ years, that says a lot! Been here many times and every single time it does not disappoint. Every appetizer, every stake and every bite has been prepared to perfection. Felix is absolutely the BEST waiter!!! He doesn't skip a beat. From the moment you arrive Felix will make sure you feel taken care of. THANK YOU FELIX!!

First time eating here and I can see why it's rated so highly! Had dinner hear with my girlfriend and everything lived up to the hype! Simple menu with lots of good things. Our waiter was nice and so was all the staff. The game changer for me is the charcoal grill! Nothing beats that taste. Easily one the best dinners I've had in Vegas. Definitely coming back

It is located inside if Circus, Circus along the store alley. It gives an old school 50's steakhouse vibe, dim and inviting. I wasn't sure what to expect as we walked through to our table. We past by the bar and the grilling station and the steaks looked and smelled amazing. The waiters were very helpful and friendly. They gave us menu ideas and suggestions on serving sizes. We ordered a 24oz rib eye steak, which was tender and juicy as well as enough for the three of us. Garlic mashed potatoes, that were fluffy and very garlicky I had to mix in a little more butter- lol. The brustle sprouts were ok, my only disappointment they lacked flavor. The meal began with soup or salad and they were fresh and had just the right amount of seasoning. We also ordered a shrimp cocktail to begin our meal - they were so big, tender and so tasty when dipped into the horseradish and cocktail sauce that I mixed together. The meal was one of the best that I have had and deserves to be tried!!!

If you're looking for an old timey Las Vegas feel, this is the place! Overstuffed booths, highly attentive staff, fantastic art on the walls, and delicious foods, this is the place! There were 3 of us and we had steaks and chicken on the table, all were done to perfection. This restaurant is located in Circus Circus casino, but you'd never know that while you're in the restaurant. Definitely would go back when in Las Vegas.

Such a hidden gem inside Circus Circus!! This place has a cool ambiance, dark lighting, open cooking concept, butchers window. Staff was very nice and welcoming. I started my meal with a French onion soup and it was delicious. For dinner I opted for the fillet and baked potato. Both were great and I had zero complaints. The rest of our party all enjoyed their meal and we all agreed we would come back. This place is great to go on a date or a group of friends.

Tucked inside Circus Circus just ever so unassumingly, The Steak House is definitely a steakhouse to put on your list. I dined alone and sat at the bar on a business trip, and the service was excellent. Ambience was very old school and felt like you can smell the history there. Really respectable prices for what you get with your meal. Portions were nice, taste was absolutely excellent. Ribeye was a big piece of meat and more on the thick side, but delicious nonetheless, if just a little tough. French onion soup was an excellent starter. Wouldn't mind stopping in again on my next trip.

From the moment I first called in to see if a reservation was available. I was greeted by the most friendly person on the other side of the phone. I am almost positive. I'm saying the name incorrectly, but it sounded like Daruss. He was kind, accommodating and professional, and even more genuine person when I showed up. I was sat at the bar due to it being a full house however, I enjoyed a seat all the way at the corner tucked away, indulging in the ambience and low dim lighting. For starters, I was brought a warm basket of delicious bread with butter and that salad wrench put on top was some of the best wrench I've ever had. I ordered the New York steak with the side of garlic mash, and every bit of my plate was phenomenal. The person at the bar that helped me with my service was kind quick and always make sure my drink never went low.Such a hidden gem within Circus Circus. Definitely will be coming back.

Ask the Community - THE Steak House

    Is there a bar?

    Yes small but very nice

Do you need to make reservations ? Or can you do like most places and eat at the bar without a reservation

Reservations are always recommended, but we do our best to accommodate walk-ins. Friday and Saturday nights are more crowded, so less likely for a walk-in option.

    What's the dress code?

    Casual

    Is there a kids menu?

lol at people saying its not good for kids. I'm a local and my 7 year old goes to every steakhouse with us weekly. Snooby tourist dont know any better! YES it is great for kids if they enjoy steak and you can afford it.

Can someone give an approximation of price per person?

It really depends on what you order. I had 2 different types of steaks and it was a dish for 2 for $125 2 sides as well.

    What's the attire?

Even though it's actually a fancy style steak house , most people were dressed casual. Personally , I dressed up because if I'm spending that much money , I don't want to do it in sweat pants. 😆

While in Vegas you should definitely get a nice steak dinner and Peter Luger is a great option…read more It's located in Caesars Palace alongside other good restaurants including the buffet. It definitely brings the NYC feel once you step inside. It was dinner time so it was quite busy but I feel like service in Vegas has figured it out - how to deliver fast friendly service. To start naturally we ordered some drinks that fit the vibe, classic strong drinks that went well with steak. While I am usually a filet mignon person, our table selected the steak for 2 which turned out to be a good amount for us. Plus the butter it's smothered in is amazing. For our other sides we selected the Caesar salad (fitting because we were in Caesar's :) and the crab cake (another favorite of mine). Note there are $$$$ signs so do not expect it to be cheap. But for the quality, taste and atmosphere it was worth it and I hope to visit the NYC location sometime as well.

I came into Peter Luger Las Vegas with sky-high expectations. As a legendary Brooklyn institution,…read moreyou expect two things: iconic dry-aged beef and crisp, sharp execution. What we actually got was sluggish, absent service and a steak cooked so poorly it belonged in a mid-tier diner. The Service: Ignored from Start to Finish Rather than the quick, direct, old-school service Luger is famous for, our experience was defined by sluggish neglect. The Wait: We spent entirely too much time trying to catch our server's eye for simple requests--water refills, order updates, and check-ins were practically non-existent. The Flow: Courses dragged, plates sat, and by the time our food reached the table, the energy of the night was already gone. When you're paying top-dollar prices, waiting around while being actively ignored ruins the entire ambiance. The Steak: A Text-Book "Grey Band" Disaster "A $180+ porterhouse should have an edge-to-edge perfect medium-rare with a roaring crust. What landed on our table looked tired and mismanaged." The Cook: The cross-section said it all. The meat had a massive, thick grey ring of overcooked, tough beef wrapping around a tiny patch of pink in the center. It was uneven, poorly rested, or left sitting under a heat lamp while service languished. Where's the Sizzle? The steak arrived dull and dry on top. The iconic Luger presentation--sizzling hot butter aggressively spooned over a glistening platter--was completely absent. The Flavor: Because of the heavy grey gradient, most bites were chewy and dry rather than tender and nutty. The Sides & Verdict The loaded baked potato topped with a mountain of bacon lardons looked great and tasted fine, but no side dish on earth can rescue an evening when the primary steak is ruined. Las Vegas has one of the most competitive steakhouse scenes in the world. With options like Bavette's, SW, and Cut just down the Strip, there is zero excuse for slow service and an amateurish cook on a flagship cut. Skip the hype and save your money. You're paying flagship prices for amateur-level execution.

I hadn't been here in quite a few years and my last experience was nothing to write home about…read more A friend suggested it for dinner and I thought I would just go along since it was a group of 6 of us. This place is......not good. I'm honestly blown away by some of the reviews. The food, the service, the vibe - it was all lacking. I eat at a lot of steakhouses, so I may have higher expectations than the average diner. Service: - Our server was very friendly, but forgot about us the entire back half of our meal (we even skipped ordering dessert because we were completely forgotten about and sat there for so long after finishing dinner). - He was not well versed in handling wine (which IMO in unacceptable for an "award winning steakhouse"). He handled the wine glasses by the bowl instead of the stem and poured extremely large servings, about 4 oversized glasses from a single bottle. Food: - The steak tartare was very thick, large chunks instead of a classic fine mince. It was served with tasteless bread that had heavy black grill marks on it. Would never order again. - The calamari and brussels were both tasty and fine. - My NY strip was so full of tendons that I couldn't even chew through it some of it. I can't remember the last time I actually left a piece of steak on my plate from a dinner. - We were ordered a flight of steak sauces and they were spread all over the table with no explanation of what was what. - As for sides, we ordered mash, mac and cheese, broccolini and cauliflower....all very average. Vibe: - completely lacked ambiance. The lighting was bright, there was no background music, and it felt more like a casual neighborhood diner than a place you'd expect to enjoy a nice steak dinner. Unfortunately, this visit reminded me why it had been years since my last visit. Between the average food, inconsistent service, and lackluster atmosphere, I left genuinely wondering how this restaurant has earned such high ratings. Summerlin has far too many incredible restaurants to justify another visit, and for a steakhouse, I'd choose T-Bones or Harlo every time.
