Really bad service. We had a business meeting, all six people ordered a drink but only two people had food, when our server Antonio heard that he got so annoyed and rude. He never smiled, asked if we need anything else. Ordering during quarantine via doordash! So happy to find somewhere with such amazing vegan options as well as regular for my boyfriend. If you are deciding between the French toast and the vegan pancakes, 1000% go for the pancakes. The portion is huge and so fluffy and yummy, I went with the additional chocolate chips. Yesterday I ordered the French toast with a side of vegan bacon and the bacon was very burnt and not bacon-y at all, more like crisped carrot. My boyfriend got the scrambled medley with grilled chicken, tortilla and rice today and preferred it over the breakfast burrito he ordered yesterday. read more

This place will customize any order based on dietary preferences, which was really awesome! I decided to try the Mama's pasta, well I actually did the Papa's which is the same but I added some ingredients, because I've never heard of a pasta breakfast dish. It was pretty good, maybe not something I'd get again, but definitely something different. It was a bit dry, so I did add some olive oil and that made a world of difference. My boyfriend got a chai latte which was pretty good, but needed a little sweetener. He loved his blueberry pancakes and omelette. His sister got the French toast which was GF. I tasted them and they were outstanding. I have to deduct a star because although our server was nice, she was not attentive. We asked her for things, which she never brought, and she rarely came by, so we couldn't ask again. We had to wait a long time for the check for this reason too. Food: good diner/ coffee shop dishes, plus some outside that descriptive. Our group of three tried the breakfast burrito, pumpkin pancakes, and omelette - all good, with everyone agreeing the pancakes were great. Parking lot is kinda small, but we easily found nearby street parking (at noon on Sat). Service was attentive, food arrived as prompt as expected. (They were busy, but the food didn't seem delayed.) patio seating and inside. I send my boss here for morning meeting because they do reservations and (during weekday mornings) the lot parking is free enough that I've never heard of an issue. read more

It is a sad place that has gotten worse. We thought after a year away we would try it one last time. Maybe it improved back to its glory days many years ago. Not even close. The dishes while prepared fine had absolutely the least fresh ingredients you could get it seemed. The broccoli smelled like feet. The spinach was really gross and old and that is always a breeding ground for bacteria. I would manage health over anything and I don't feel safe at this place. The person who works the front also came by and sprayed the tables while we were eating so we got the pleasure of cleaning spray in our food. I think number one issue is food quality freshness is definitely very very bad. I feel safer at most places in LA than here. Sorry. They have a parking lot, very fast and friendly service, and you can tell they care about the ingredients they use. From the reviews and price I was expecting more. I went with the build your own bowl, all the ingredients sounded like they'd be good but just really lacked flavor. My vegan lady had pretty much the same response, boring flavors. Fortunately the staff was friendly and quick and the overall dining experience was good. Ordered the omlette, breakfast burrito and pancakes. The bacon in the omlette tasted like rubber. The potatoes were cold and had no crisp to them what so ever. Pancakes came out with no syrup. When we asked for syrup we got the smallest portion one could think of plus no butter. In addition, the service is was not good at all. I wanted to like this place so much more than I did looking at all the reviews. We ordered the Pasta Papa, Blueberry Pancakes, and French Toast. The pasta in the Pasta Papa was under cooked and extremely flavorless. I never add salt to my food, but it was necessary this time and it tasted much better. The Blueberry Pancakes were interesting. I think it was made of real blueberries, which normally is good since that's healthy, but it had a very weird flavor. I only ate half and then had to stop. The French Toast was way too sweet, only ate half as well. The pasta and pancakes were recommended to us by the waiter and yelp reviews backed it up as well, so we were pretty disappointed. read more

Today my Fiancé and I visited the Studio City restaurant. I ordered the Breakfast Burrito with Vegetarian Bacon and their Rosemary Potatoes...it was delicious. Possibly the best Breakfast Potatoes I've had bar none. However the French Toast was almost inedible. My Fiancé shared the same dislike for the French Toast as well. The French Toast shared another problem; one of them being menu clarity and the other poor service from not only our server (who never introduced himself and was rude), but also the Manager (who never introduced himself and was rude). On the menu it states that you can add a slice of French Toast to any breakfast item for $3. Naturally it being our first time at the restaurant, we wanted to try what we could...so we both ordered it. The check eventually came and my Fiancé was charged an extra $4 for his slice of French Toast. $7 for a single slice of cold & borderline tasteless and stale bread. AND the $4 was marked as an "upcharge". When we asked our server about it, he gave no explanation and left our table. The manager returned after a few minutes and said that the server told us that the French Toast was only $3 if you ordered an Egg Dish. Which I guess a Breakfast Burrito is an Egg Dish, even though the first ingredient listed are Potato Pancakes. He then left the table and my Fiancé and I sat puzzled for almost ten minutes. Our server eventually dropped off the bill, with the fixed charge, but the bill was handled by another server. All of our plates were almost tossed on the table and our server was rude the entire time. He came to our table and his first words were "Are you going to order something besides water?" Very jarring. We did end up ordering the Iced Horchata Latte, which was okay. A pleasant visit quickly turned ugly. My Fiancé and I endlessly thank all hospitality at any restaurant and tip well. We are also both nice people in general. So the attitudes were kinda jarring for us. As for Ambiance since it asks, it felt like a hospital cafeteria. The furniture didn't really match and the artwork was a little weird too. We are always looking for new places to eat and usually put new places into our regular rotations...but this place was awful. Which sucks because the Rosemary Breakfast Potatoes were God Tier. read more

This place impresses me every time! This time I had the Angus burger with gluten free bread. Including the sticky buns for dessert. I really enjoyed the burger and the gluten free bread they make in house. The burger was perfectly juicy and I got to choose three toppings! I got the raw onions, guacamole, plantains on the side, the Chipotle vegan Mayo and the Lebanese garlic sauce. I typically do not like the gluten free bread most restaurants have because it just tastes money! Their gluten free bread was just perfect because it was thin and crunchy. I would definitely go back and get the burger again. I really enjoy the sticky buns because it's crunchy cinnamony and it tastes like a churro. I ask for no sauce on top because it makes it way too sweet! I just recommend them calling it a churro instead of a sticky bun because when you think of sticky bun you think of a cinnamon roll that sticky and this is nothing like that LOL read more

I really enjoyed Hugo's! It has the comfort food you are looking for with a modern twist. They have indoor, patio, and grotto seating so there are lots of outdoor options and there's a welcoming, homey ambience. I also love that they have their own private parking lot (it's nice to not have to worry). We started with the hush puppies which were delicious corn fritters topped with a sweet bbq style sauce and served with ranch dipping sauce. I also got a flight of wines which was affordable and really tasty. For the main dish I got the chicken Carciofi which came with artichokes, capers, and a refreshing white wine butter sauce. It came with brown rice which was cooked perfectly. The staff were extremely attentive; our host Matthew was super friendly and got us seated right away, and our waiter Connor helped us choose our dishes and made sure our food came out quickly and efficiently. My wife and I have gone to Hugo's several times since we moved into the neighborhood and have always been happy we did. Since the stay at home was put in place, we seniors have not left the house. Easter has always been an important religious holiday for us and also one for a great meal as well. I received an email from Hugo's on Tuesday and pre-ordered a family of 4 brisket dinner to arrive on Easter Sunday to our apartment. It arrived on time on Sunday afternoon, with contactless delivery. The dinner was fantastic, perfectly cooked with all the trimmings. THANK YOU, Hugo's, and Postmates, for allowing us a "normal" day for the first time in over a month. Our party of 3 had our 3rd dinner here on a recent Tuesday evening. Previously, we sat on the outside patio, but this time, it was too cool and breezy, and the heaters weren't on. So we asked for a quiet corner inside so we could relax and talk. Almost immediately upon ordering our dinners, our waiter jambed 3 tables together next to us and set up for a party of 10, which shortly after was filled with 7 adults and 3 screaming youngsters. We asked our waiter to seat us in a quieter location, as there were several other tables available, and we were refused. All throughout our dinner, we had to raise our voices to carry on our conversations because the noise from the party of 10 was too loud until they received their dinners. That said, our dinners were excellent, and the service was very good and attentive. We're not sure we will return for another dinner here in the future, primarily due to the lack of accommodation when we asked to be relocated to a quieter area in the restaurant. read more

The toughest and most inconvenient part of eating here is the small parking lot, but we had good parking karma as one spot became available as we were pulling into the lot. Other than that, once again we loved the food and service by Hayley. Another note before getting into the food; make reservations! We made 6:30 reservations and didn't have to wait as the place was packed, my guess is that there were at least 5 or 6 groups of 4 or more waiting for an open table and we were able to sit down immediately. The food was excellent as usual, from chicken tacos to the Cuban sandwich, salad and a rice bowl. Hayley was an excellent server, making certain that everything was fine, refilling tea and water even before needed and other doing everything right while waiting on other tables.
