So waiting for my company to go to the movies on my birthday I walked into this place to get something to eat. FIRST TIMER!!! The guy who was of my same ethnicity was so kind after getting me a clean bowl after the cashier who was sick kept coughing and touching it. So I only came back because of the cook. Well this time I had hair in my food and due to disgust and not being able to enjoy my $30 plate. I as a consumer requested a FULL refund. The manager Kadesha only refunds the portion with the hair in it. I never caused a scene just politely left. I submitted a review and got a call back that same day from the regional 303 877 2778. Who at first was very understanding and apologetic. He said he was out of town and to return the next day but text him my receipt. Well 5 days later after calling him and texting several times. He replies 9 hours later to say he agrees with management. Now I have my own business, I understand consumer law front/back. Businesses like this should not be serving the general public. Pretty interesting place. As someone who lives in San Francisco, I look at Mongolian BBQ at little differently. I must say though, this has a unique way of serving basic "asain-fusion" in a casual setting. This place is great for everyone. Came here with my 2 nieces (2 years old and new born) and there wasn't any issues. Great variety of choices from the buffet to mix in the bowl. Sauces are described well. I don't know why this place gets such bad reviews. I honestly had a fantastic time! The food is great considering it's an all you can eat situation. I had great service. I had never been and they explained everything to me pretty well. You get your meets. Add your carbs. They don't tell you but some noodles are at the meat section and some are at the vegetables section. Not a huge deal... The meats were all good (not fantastic. don't come here expecting 5 star food because you're in the wrong place). I tried a little of everything. Good thing is when you go around the second time you know exactly what you want. Vegetables were good. Sauces were good. I didn't like that you could see how many calories you were eating, but that's life! There are so many options across the board that will please everyone. After you assemble your bowl you head to the center where to chefs will cook your food for you. You have to wait a bit. It's relatively quick if there is no line. I suggest going at the same time with your friends so you're not just waiting by yourself. Overall pretty simple once you get started. Food was good. As 3-stars indicated, this place is A-ok. I know 3 starts can be looked upon as a poor review, but that is not my intention. A-ok perfectly describes Huhot. The buffet selection is more limited than other similar restaurants, but what they do have is pretty decent quality. The sauces are top-notch. My biggest drawback about Huhot is the service always seems a bit slow. Even though they aren't really serving your meal, they could be better at refilling drinks and bringing out apps and rice. It also seems weird that every time I come here, there are plenty of open tables, but the hostesses are never ready to seat anyone. Overall, I will continue to visit Huhot a couple of times per year. This place was across the street from our hotel. The buffet was $15.99 and I was pleasantly surprised. I've never been to a Mongolian Grill where all the food is frozen and you pick your food yourself. There's a huge variety to choose from and the sauce section was crazy. After your select all your food and sauce you take your plate piled high to the grill where 2 cooks (high school kids) take your plate and put it on the grill. I was nervous at first because they looked so young but they didn't disappoint my food was perfect and I think I went back around 2 more times lol. They were out of a lot of item especially drink wise no cherry flavor and a few other flavors they didn't have. The only alcohol beverages are a few beer and wine but of course Sake. I have been to HuHot a few times and have never been disappointed in the food nor the service. Terry is an absolute doll of server as her personality and sweetness is so uplifting and great to have around. She is such a wonderful server that I definitely have to name her. HuHot is your typical Mongolian BBQ place where you pick your ingredients and sauces on your own. If you're stuck, they have suggestion cards on what to get. For animal protein, they offer pork, chicken, steak, mussels, shrimp, sausage, and meatballs. There are several different types of noodles including rice vermicelli and lo mein. For vegetables, they offer spinach, mushrooms, onions, bell peppers, potatoes, baby corn, water chestnuts, jalapenos, cilantro, and other vegetables. They also offer firm tofu in the veggie section. Their sauces range from not spicy to really spicy and you can choose from all sorts of bases, oils, and citrus bases to create your own delicious wonderland! When you bring your creation to the grill, the grillers cook your items in approximately 5 minutes or less so you can get to enjoying ASAP. I'm used to the traditional sit down restaurant, but this was way more casual and welcoming. Only downfall was pricing was still the same for a more casual experience, but it made up for it with the ice cream machine! After trying a dissappointing Mongolian grill restaurant in the Park Meadows area last year I was pretty turned off of Mongolian BBQ altogether. I had lost any hope there was anything remotely resembling the Monglolian grills available in Washington State where I moved from. But I decided to give HuHot a try since it looked similar to what I am used to. I am so glad I did because I finally have found a decent Mongolian grill place near where I live! The price is flat fee and it's AYCE which is great. You can go up and get as many bowls of food as you want. The choices for meats and seafood were pretty good, and they have a ton of veggie options. They also have a couple noodle options. The sauce station is massive with any type of sauce ranging from mild to hot and spicy. I went through two bowls and was very full afterward. The portions are pretty decent and you can fit a lot into one bowl if you pile up a bit. Or you can do one bowl at a time and go back through the line each time. I am taking off one star for the price which seems a bit expensive ($15.99 pp at dinner on a Sunday evening) and for the lack of cleanliness in some areas. While standing in the food line the floor was so sticky and the cooking/kitchen floor area was messy. But the cooks did a great job keeping the orders separate and cooked everything well. HuHot has potential to be good but too many dings and service slips for it to be a regular contender in the dining rotation. The grill itself is manned by what seems like apathetic high schoolers. You've got a trainer also in the mix telling the rest of the cooks to smile more and be friendly because they look so upset with their life. Instead of walking the food around the grill, they dump your bowl of food and then just leave it for a few minutes. If you don't actively *stir* fry the food you end up with carmelized sauce and burnt noodles that stick to the griddle surface. I've never seen this anywhere else. This is the laziest interpretation of mongolian bbq to date. Also, they're not adding water during the cook process which means again, more burnt food. The sauce selection looks promising at first but no matter how much I would add, the flavor was mute and lacked a kick. Our server, Terry, might be the grandma of one of the other servers in the restaurant. She easily had 50 years on the next oldest worker. Terry knows the score, and will actively sign up everyone she meets for the HuHot rewards program. After she does that, she'll ignore you. She'd come to seat another table, and you think "great, she's nearby. she'll ask about what else we might need or come refill our drinks". Nope. Then she comes back again to another nearby table and you move all 3 empty glasses to the edge of the table in full view, hoping the hint is taken. Nope. Finally you end up bringing all the glasses to the back kitchen and ask who there might be able to assist since Terry is MIA. In all honesty I have to believe that Terry is only working at HuHot due to a lost bet, she should be retired and spending the rest of her days in peace and quiet. I didn't get sick but the food is uninspiring, lazy, and not worth a revisit anytime soon. read more

When I came in I was excited to bring my Father-in-law and Husband out for their first experience with a Mongolian Barbecue. I have been to other HuHot's and had a great time so I didn't expect this time to be any different. So the good first - The cooks are great! Friendly and they have some amazing suggestions. The food selection doesn't leave anything wanting, and the little recipe cards have more than 30+ different selections and offer you are really good place to start if you're new here. (They even have Gluten Free recipe cards) The fact that its unlimited trips makes HuHot way better IMO than other Mongolian grills. Everything is clean and seems to be well maintained. THE BAD.... From the second we walked in the older female server was a total B**CH she was beyond rude to our entire group, she seriously didn't leave a single one of us left out. Rude Rude Rude! I did everything in my power to be nice to her and treat her like a human being, as well as trying to keep my group happy and ... from walking out. She left us alone for the last portion of the meal, and we were all able to enjoy ourselves for about 10 minutes. There was deep anxiety at the end about how to get our check because no one wanted to talk to or deal with her. When I finally got her attention to ask for the check I can genuinely say she had saved her worst for the end. More rude talk, and then she, lets say "tossed" the black check holder at me informed to sign one and left with a exasperated sigh as if it was our personal fault that there were only two servers on the floor as "SOMEONE HAD TO TAKE A BREAK" (which she had informed our party... an excuse for her bad behavior? Maybe, but not something that should be ranted about to your customers. Or the reason why you should treat them like garbage.) Several people in the party didn't want to pay for the meal because of her crap service and poor behavior (you are definitely TOO old to be acting this way lady... geez) and there was a lot of talk about wanting to get the manager involved. I'd just wanted to enjoy a nice lunch out at a place that is usually a fun experience and introduce several members of my family to Mongolian dining, instead we rushed through a meal to try and avoid further issue and we still didn't get out unscathed! My tip to her is - Be nicer My tip to the restaurant - Some of your employees need a little recap training on the labor laws of this state, how to leave personal issues at the door when they clock into work, Oh... and how to provide customer service in a customer service position. Problem # 2: the food. Most of the sauces, and there are quite a few of them, are bland and lifeless. Subsequently your finished dish will come out bland and lifeless. You make it the way you want it. Lots of choices from pork, chicken, beef, and even fish. No need to cram everything in the first bowl because you can come back as many times as you like. Service is good, the place is clean, and when I was in, the cooking line went very fast. Avoid this place at all costs. Went out with the whole family for an early Father's day meal. We love Ghengis Grill and other places like this, so when we saw this was all you could eat I was sold! Upon entering the hostess made us feel awkward that we'd brought a stroller and seemed put out on where to sit us. While they took 5 minutes to clean a table in the back corner, we should have left then. Once we got our bowls and prepared them, we noticed all the meat was frozen! Is this really necessary? They cook it pretty quickly, but it was pretty bland. None of us went for more because it wasnt great. Server also forgot our soup, then asked us if we still wanted it. Since we were basically done we declined...we thought they'd take a little off our bill. Dont know why I expected that. Finally on our way out, as we were struggling with getting the door open with our stroller, the two servers talking up front didnt try to help or even acknowledge our presence.
