Customer service was good. The "grillmasters" seemed sloppy with there work. Potatoes were nearly never cooked enough. That might be a personal preference, but biting into a hard potato just defeats the purpose of cooking the potato.... Our server was Enoc, he was awesome. He didn't come to our table very often, which I don't personally like, but he did fill our drinks at the right times and we weren't waiting for refills. There was a LARGE group of college/high school students that came in and the employees kept up with the rush. This is a regular place for our family. Everyone can make things the way they want and I can have dinner out and eat well without blowing calories. The guys on the grill are friendly and there doesn't seem to be much turnover. The bar to prepare your bowl is always clean and well stocked. While I like the new system to pay first and self serve everything, I do not like the pressure to pre-tip on self-serve and before we eat. I feel like an ass tipping less than 20% but it's min $60 for our family of four so a $12 tip for self serve is annoying (especially bc I tip additional at the grill). Oh man. This place was super disappointing, considering my husband loves Mongolian grill places. We came here around 1pm on a Friday for lunch. It appeared the restaurant was very understaffed. They also apparently ran out of silverware, napkins, and glassware, and brought our water in paper cups, one that kept leaking on the table. Obviously you select your own ingredients to cook so whatever food you make is on you, but how do you mess up plain NOODLES? They were a gloppy starchy mess in the tub and totally unappetizing. Should have checked Yelp first!! Monday at 5:30. Only one cook and two waitresses on duty. "Do you want rice?" No. Rice came anyway. "Do you want lemon in your tea? No. Tea arrives with lemon. Worst of all, grill dishes were wildly over-cooked, dry, and noodles burnt and crunchy. Watching the procedure was kinda scary. Slow to seat you, slow to bring drinks and refills, slow to clear the table etc. I had to ask the hostess to clean the floor under the booth she sat us. How about Hu NOT SO HOT or HuNOT! I was looking forward to trying this place, as my husband and I love the Mongolian grill experience. Let's start from the beginning...the host greeted us then mumbled something and turned around walking so fast we could not keep up with him to our table, then the waitress came to the table, picked up both of our menus, assuming we were having the all you can eat, she did not even ask! The cost for all you can eat is $14.99. You can chose from pork, chicken, beef, sausage, some shellfish, noodles and a variety of veggies and sauces. You stand in line and watch the wok masters cook your food! It's not appetizing though, the Wok area is disgusting and the Wok itself is just nasty, they do dry to keep it cleaned off between dishes....let me explain, they spray water (I'm assuming) and scrape the mess off, right next to the food that is cooking, that is not appetizing! The food was not cooked long enough, the sauces are not good. We asked for white rice to be brought to the table, that was the best part! Back to our waitress, she did come back to the table to refill water glasses, once, then we never saw her again, we finally just left cash so we could get out of there! I loved this place until yesterday. I live right in Northfield. But I am incapacitated with food poisoning. Hit me like 4 hours after I left HuHot yesterday. I had a feeling that the first plate they grilled wasn't cooked enough. It came off the grill really fast. I should have said something but trusted the cooks. I didn't sleep all last night and had to leave work early today because I can't leave the bathroom. The concept of this place is awesome, but this is a HUGE issue that I've seen all over the internet with HuHot. More needs to be done with sanitizing the utensils and area used to cook. I can't even think about the place anymore without having to throw up. Hopefully this goes away soon or I might have to go to the hospital. Be careful with this place. I've never had food poisoning before, am healthy and very rarely get sick. But I got something nasty because the current process is extremely unsanitary. read more

Horrible service! Went here this last Saturday for my nephews birthday. I hate giving bad reviews but this place was so awful! Probably the worst service at a restaurant I've ever had. We were seated and waited a long time and no on came to take our drink order. We ended up going up to the BBQ to make bowls. After we got back to the table it was still a long time before anyone came to take our drink order. I don't think that we had a specific wait staff assigned to us. Several different people stopped and gave us half ass service. After getting drinks we never got our apps, rice or extra napkins we needed. There was no sense of order or management. Lots of dirty tables everywhere too. The worst part is that the food wasn't very good either! Very disappointed! Never going back. Update- I was contacted by the General Manager who explained that they were short staffed this night because of several people calling in and acknowledged and apologized for the bad service. read more

THERE IS A BAD LINE COOK (Johnny) WHO DOES NOT TAKE FOOD ALLERGIES SERIOUSLY. And is rude and unapologetic about it. I am celiac /gluten allergy. I have visited this location in the past, initially with much hesitancy. It's always a risk eating out, but I'd read they take gluten allergies seriously. Historically, they have actually made a point to clean the grill with a steel wool sponge and cordon off the cooking area with plates and spatulas. Tonight I came here with my friends expecting the same treatment. I told Johnny the line cook that I have an allergy and asked to have the grill cleaned. He said ok, then proceeded to treat my bowl like everyone else's. I immediately spoke up and explained how I have seen them prepare the grill in the past. He tells me I am wrong while starting to put up the plates and spatulas around my food. The whole time he's rolling his eyes and scoffing. I tell him I cannot eat the food now and go to find a manager. Some poor server kindly heard me out, apologized on Johnny's behalf, and asked me to go make another bowl. I got up to the line and Johnny is now angry and defiant. He points to some area and says he's cleaned it now. I tell him I am not comfortable with him cooking my food and he laughs. The other line cook was super kind and offered to scrub the grill one more time. I took him up on it and while he's doing his job, Johnny goes up to him, looks at me, and then says very loudly that I am just making him work extra hard. I immediately jumped in and reiterated my gluten allergy where I will otherwise get sick and no one else in this restaurant has ever treated me this way. He totally ignores me. I spoke to the manager to let him know. He said he'd talk with Johnny and that what he did was unacceptable and offered me a free gluten free dessert. The server was super nice. Everyone has generally been pleasant here. But I simply cannot risk being sick for the next several days, and I simply won't put myself in the position of being treated so rudely again. read more

I have been to this location many times. I always love the food. The selection is always great and if anything is running out employees are great about getting more. I have gotten delivery the last few times when they were having promotions for free delivery. Today there was a mixup but the manager when above and beyond to make it right and food is on its way now. I ate here last night on Monday and came about 6:30 with my family. Amazing experience with outstanding customer service! The manager Felipe went out of his way to help us, was very hard working, happy and helpful with his staff! We watched him do everything while we were eating and talking with other guests even though it was busy. Food was really great and the place was surprisingly clean. I usually love HuHot, but today I had an experience at the brand new one in Northfield/Stapleton and I am extremely disappointed. I went to a business lunch here today (today is also their 1st day open BTW) and asked the waitress if I only got one bowl (versus their lunch unlimited) would I be able to take the food home because I had a breakfast that morning and knew I wasn't hungry. She said she would check with the manager and we proceeded to make our bowls. The waitress (Julie), who was extremely knowledgable, attentive, and nice, returned and told me that they wouldn't allow it, and I asked to speak to the manager. The manager (Becky) came over and said they don't allow leftovers to be taken home. I asked her if she could make an exception since there was a miscommunication and I obviously had a full plate of food in front of me. She was not nice at all, and when I continued to tell her that if I would have known this, I would have ordered the same bowl for carry-out. She kept arguing with me when I told her that either way they were going to throw it away she keep insisting they wouldn't allow it. POOR MANAGEMENT. Seriously? On your business' FIRST DAY OPEN you are going to fight with a customer instead of offer a solution that would cost you VIRTUALLY NOTHING? I can't believe this girl ever even got to this level in the restaurant industry because her COMPLETE LACK OF CUSTOMER SERVICE is going to make this location fail. She didn't give me a box and tell me that in the future she couldn't accommodate my request. She didn't offer to comp my coke, apologize about the incident, or give me a voucher to come back. We are regulars at this place and don't usually come in when they have the 2 for $22 special on Thursdays they do from 4-6 so my boyfriend and I decided to come in. We got there before 6pm and we're waiting in line before the clock turned to 6 and once we made it to the counter the lady at the counter was EXTREMELY rude and wouldn't honor it even though we were there before the cut off. The people that Have given this place a bad review do not understand Mongolian food restaurants. It is usually always a Buffet however this place includes both shrimp and crab which I typically don't see. In addition to that they have a laundry list of favorite recipes all of which seem to be well thought out and delicious. It's an all you can eat buffet. The people are very nice. read more

Upon entering I asked where the monitors we so we could watch the Broncos season opener. No monitors. Who opens a new restaurant in Denver during football season with no monitors. Wait...it got so much worse. The food was not good, the service was mediocre, and a fire erupted on the grill that was damn scary. I expected someone (a manager) to at the very least greet us and ask if we were enjoying the experience. That didn't happen.....this place is a HuHot mess!! Won't be returning. I love mongolian grills, so when we saw HuHot, we wanted to try it. So glad we decided to give it a try; my daughter and I loved it. We came in for a late lunch and was seated immediately. The waitress explained how it worked and we decided to start with A Taste of the Bounty Appetizers (Eggrolls, Potstickers & Krab Rangoons). The appetizers were okay, nothing outstanding or "have to have". I love how there are different variations of sauces (pad thai, orange chicken, sweet and sour, Khan's revenge, and many more). Oh man. Where do I start? Well, expect to wait for your server to greet you , expect to wait a long time in line to get your food cooked and don't expect refills on your drinks unless you ask. For the price of cheap Mongolian, you're definitely getting what you pay for. A crowded place with slow service and rather trashy customers. I love Mongolian but I think the customers make the experience worse because watching how these people grab and touch the food that they put on their plate isn't very pleasant. They don't have manners! Yes, let me please put some of that frozen beef on my plate after you grab half of it with your hands. Gross! I also heard the servers, hostess and cooks complaining several times about how low staffed they were. One server kept telling and pointing to the new tables he had, what other tables he had and how many tables he was currently serving. As if we were suppose to have pitty for him. I mean, I felt bad but maybe the manager needs to have the proper staffing so customers didn't have to hear that stuff. The cooks seemed to be working their butts off non stop so that was super appreciative but when you're understaffed on a Friday night, the service is bound to decrease. I never got a refill on my drink and our server was barley a server. Didn't offer us the salad or soup like they did the last time I came here either. Not a place I would pay to go to.
