The mango desserts are tasty. There is a variety of different flavor combinations with mango, as well as Nancy desserts. The iced desserts and the drinks were both well made. The cafe is near and clean inside and the staff is quick and efficient. I think the desserts here are a great value. I recommend trying their Mango Chewy Ball dessert if it's your first time. I haven't tried something here that isn't good.
I'LL NEVER FORGIVE HUI LAU SHAN FOR LEAVING THE 626. The closest one to me is around an hour away, so when I was visiting my boyfriend and there being a closer one nearby, I had to stop at this one. Plaza is a super fisted PvP zone since there's lots of eateries, cafes, and other businesses. Just park a bit further and walk in, since no one wants to walk. Long line for people ordering as well, but I think you can order online for pick up. Strong durian smell here and it's not as cute as what the Rowland Heights location used to be (mango plushies and huge wall art of their cute mango and fruit mascots). Because of people crowding at the tables in the middle, it was hard to tell where the ordering line was until others were cutting in line. So maybe just move those tables. A bit dirtier because of the crowds, but the service was efficient despite the crowds. I got my favorite mango pomelo sago and mango chewy ball and it's delicious as any of the other locations. Delicious sweet mango taste, not too tart. Sweet and yummy and fresh. Great combination of textures and taste. Already dreaming of my next visit.
Mango dessert to finish off the night. Looking for something sweet and used Yelp to see what was close by in the area we were currently at. This location is on the smaller side with some seating inside and limited seating outside. The service was just ok. The desserts were consistant to other locations and they did not disappoint. Went with a mango treat and and a smoothie. both wwere devoured even though they said they didint want anything, lol. D5 Mango coconut juice with aloe jelly was so cool and refreshing. loved the jelly and mango. Flavors compllemented eachother. A4 Mango chewy balls was sweat and delicious with mango chunks, mango balls, and I want to say mango ice cream. it was flavorful and satisfying. Subtracting one star because tables needed cleaning and shairs were very limited. Definately stopping by again when Im in the Milpitas area.
Been to this location a few times now. Deemed it one of the least preferred spot out of other HLS locations. We ordered: A4 mango chew ball (ice cream on the side) $8.50 ice cream tasted more like a coconut ice cream D3 pomelo and mango with sago $8.95 Drink was good, but for some reason, sago here is frozen. There have been times where the inside of the store has weird smells...from chemicals..to sewage smells. Some seating inside. Hectic parking lot during peak hours. Not the best HLS location.
Anytime in this plaza, I pretty much always stop by this Hui Lau Shan location for dessert. Can often times be packed, but coming on a weekday night, there were only a few of us. The chewy ball toppings are what I come here for. Chewy (as the name implies) and just the right amount of sweet. Mango is sweet, albeit seasonal. Sometimes it may be a bit sour, but I obviously don't hold them accountable for that. For drinks, can't go wrong with anything sago. This is one of the few places that makes it right. I can't stop coming back. See you in two weeks Hui Lau Shan.
You need to stop by this place if you like mango. Honestly their menu is extremely extensive so you should drop by here if you like chinese desserts! Taste: We loved most everything we got. I really enjoyed the taro dessert. The only complaint is that some of the mochi balls were a little too starchy. Other than that we enjoyed everything. Parking: Plaza parking! It's a bit busy so you might have to be a little patient Seating: This is quite limited. There's a free tables but that's it.
This is a dessert review rather than a drink review since I think their drinks are much better and I usually get drinks instead of a dessert. My wife wanted to try the dessert out so we got that instead. [[ We ordered ]] 1.) Jumbo Pomelo & Mango with Sago - $14.00 2.) Extra Topping - Chewy Ball - $1.75 3.) Extra Topping - Coconut Noodle - $1.75 [[Some notes]] (a) After tax and tip, it was close to $20. I think this is a bit pricey for dessert and the quantity given I would say isn't worth the price. (b) I highly do not recommend getting the chewy ball since I think for ~$2.00, it's not worth it. It was chewy and sweet though but I wouldn't add this as an extra in the future just based on how little you get. (c) The Coconut Noodle was good and they gave a lot so I think this is a worthwhile add on. (d) I think since the dessert came in a to-go container, it's actually really hard to share the dessert with someone since its difficult to eat. We even sat next to each other to try to make it easier but it was still hard. I recommend ordering the smaller version of the dessert twice and each person eating it by themselves.
Visiting SJ, we saw this place when we were exploring around the area. Decided to give it a try, we got the Jumbo Pomelo Mango w/ Sago (J2). It was very refreshing especially during these warmer days and the mango was tasty, as theyre getting into season too. Perfect dessert to split with my gf and the mango puree at the bottom was creamy and rich. Inside was clean and i appreciate how they have wet wipes at every table! Cashier was quick with our order and our dessert came within a few minutes of ordering, even during the rush when we went.
Hui Lau Shan is my wife's go-to whenever she wants to get some comfort sweets! Mainly because their well known drinks are freshly made of fresh mango and they are not like boba shops that only offer teas and fruit juice drinks. We usually visit their Cupertino and Valley Fair locations, this Milpitas shop actually is a lot bigger and less crowded.
Hui Lau Shan is my favorite drink spot! I actually prefer this over boba. Unfortunately, there are way more boba shops out there than this place. Normally, I stop by their Cupertino store but this location is easier to get to with a larger parking lot. A big plus is also the lack of a long line compared to the other location. While their vast menu can be a bit overwhelming with all the choices, you can't go wrong with anything here. It just depends on your personal preference of fruit and combination of toppings. My usual is their mango sago or mango pomelo. Both are amazingly refreshing. The fresh mango and slightly frozen sago is heaven! I've placed my drink orders in person and online, both are efficient and surprisingly quick! The employees I've interacted here with have always been friendly. They are located at that large Asian shopping plaza on Barber Lane, about 5 or 6 stores to the left of 99Ranch.
First time trying their Mango Pancake and it's now my favorite Hui Lau Shan item. It looks like a pillow made of very thin crepe stuffed with cream and slices of sweet ripe mango surrounded by the cream. The cream had the consistency of whipped cream mixed with marshmallow cream. You get two pieces for about $8.
I stopped by on a Sunday afternoon. The place had a good number of people. But I still got a seat. D3 mango and pomelo sago drink was my favorite. It had a scoop of ice cream as well. It was tough to drink it through a straw. I opened it and ate with a spoon. A4 mango chewy balls bowl was my other item. It was almost the same as my first item, except for the chewy balls. It was good too, but I think I should have gone for something slightly different.

My friend and I order the Mango and coconut juice with aloe jelly & mango and coconut with sago. The mango smoothie is always good and can pick the toppings that suit your taste. I think this location isn't as good as the Cupertino location as the mango isn't as strong, but overall it's still good. The food came out pretty fast and you get a number after ordering, so can find a place to sit while waiting. Good amount of seating inside as well! Wasn't too busy after dinner on a Friday night. read more

OH MY GOD. OH. MY. GOD. my favorite part about living in the Bay is all the variety of desserts that are centered around fruit. I've never been much of a dessert person just cause I find it to be way too sweet. But fruit based desserts are perfect. We always get the mango chewy ball and sometimes the jumbo size, and yes, consume the whole thing. Service is quick, even when they have long lines. And the place is a cute little shop with tables inside. It's located in a plaza along with a variety of restaurants and dessert stores. read more
I've always heard about this dessert place but this was my first time trying it. I love everything mango so I was excited. It is tucked away in a plaza so there is a parking lot. There is plenty of seating inside as well. Coconut Jelly with Mango (5/5): This was so good! I loved that the coconut jelly wasn't too sweet. It paired well with the sweeter jelly, sago and mango. The portion was pretty good as well. I definitely would come back! There are so many different desserts that I would like to try. read more

A dessert place for all things mango. They have the same 3-4 ingredients in different combinations but they do that pretty well. We got the Pomelo & Mango Sago drink which was delightful with tiny mango chunks & creamy sago. The coconut mango duo was alright, not my fav. I should've tried something with more coconut, this felt very watered down and the mango pieces were a bit tart. everyone loves this place like actually. milpitas spot is next to a bunch of restaurants so naturally crowded after dinner time. line actually moved reasonable fast. I really liked their mango cake which was light and fluffy with a fondant-like exterior. read more

When I am craving a refreshing dessert this is my go to! I LOVE mangos and their mangos always seem to be so juicy and sweet. This time I tried their mango romance which was like a little sampler plater. It was my first time trying the mango mochi balls and it seems to be one of their popular items. The mango inside was juicy and the outside was nice and chewy. I'm not a coconut fan and the outside is coated in coconut bits. I love the mango with the chewy balls! That's usually my go to. Also tried their mango swirl which is infused with a green tea. I personally liked how it balanced the drink out so it wasn't too too sweet. Service is quick and there's plenty of seats inside to hangout. read more

So happy to see a new addition to the Milpitas Square Plaza. I am a huge fan of Hui Lau Shan! I try to order something new every time and everything is consistently good. This HLS is slightly tucked away in the corner of the plaza but you won't miss it. Tons of parking out front. Items came out quicker than putting the order in (it gets busy!) I've been to Hui Lau Shan a few times with friends and family. The staff are polite and orders can be taken on the kiosk which is nice. Who doesn't love a good kiosk to browse on? The desserts are great. Their mangoes are always fresh, juicy, and delicious. The temperature is perfectly cool as well. The store is clean and has ambient lighting. There's a lot of seating space indoors with quite nice furniture. I enjoy the fast service since there's no line so not much of a wait like the other dessert places in the plaza. The pricing is reasonable as well. read more

If you're crazy for mango, this is the place to be. I was craving for durian desserts because the Cupertino location is always sold out. Therefore I ordered a few things to try: Mango Pomelo Sago- more mango flavor than pomelo, yet the sago had good texture and made it more fulfilling in coconut milk Durian Pancake- fluffy and creamy durian filling wrapped in a light green crepe Durian Black Glutinous Rice- love the sweet black rice soup, somehow it was a bit watery for me. The shop was nice and spacious when I walked in and the cashier was friendly to offer durian recommendations. He even packed up my orders neatly and carefully for takeout. Might come back to try more mango desserts, especially the one with yam. read more
I love Hui Lau Shan! We are always greeted when walk in, and the queue is pretty straight forward. All of their desserts are so good and you really cant beat their fresh mangoes. Do try their mango coconut sago and their mango pancakes are a must! read more

Dropped by here after dinner with my friend today and we both grabbed a drink to go. My friend and I both decided to order the same thing and tried D3 Pomelo and Mango Sago. It was delicious. We didn't want caffeine. This was a great option for dessert! Service was efficient. There were many people coming in and out. When I am craving mango, this is a great place for it. I have been here a few times and I always try to order something different. So far all has been delicious! read more

OMG! So delicious. If you're Asian, you know the best compliment for a dessert is that it's "not too sweet." Hui Lau Shan is perfect by Asian standards. - Mango Chewy Ball: Has mango ice cream, Tangyuan chewy balls, mango chunks, and Mango puree. Super delicious and as someone with a sweet tooth once in a while (but could only eat a certain amount of sweetness in one serving), I'd say this dessert was great. The price is affordable (my order was about $8.50) and the service was good. My order was ready for pick up within 5-10 minutes but keep in mind, I came close to closing hours and there was a lot of people in line. If you come when it's a little less busy, I think your order would be ready within a few minutes. They have limited seating but outside the store, there's more tables and chairs to sit. There are a lot of items on the menu and I couldn't decide so I just asked the worker what was the most popular and I ordered that HAHA. But I will definitely be back soon to try more items. read more

Came here for some dessert and this place did not disappoint. Calling all mango lovers out there. Mango was so sweet. Black sesame was also good, but wish it was hotter. Service was quick. For all mango fans! I saw someone walk by the plaza with a mango dragonfruit drink and wanted to try that. I actually ended up getting their popular drink - mango pomelo sago. The mango was...all mangos! They didn't skimp! The pomelo was ok though. It was more grapefruit than pomelo. All in all, superb drink, hefty price tag tho. read more
My friend and I came here for dessert on a Friday evening. There was a long line to order, but the wait wasn't too bad. The space has some tables to eat at, both standing tables and with seats. No tables were available when we arrived, but more became available as we waited for our items. We tried two of their specialty mango bowls and some mango mochi. The items were really good. Came on a Friday evening and this newer location was quite busy! My first time and overwhelmed by the menu but thankful they had a popular list and samples of their desserts. I ordered the mango chewy ball, and surprisingly our order was ready pretty quickly. Even 15 ish minutes later, the frozen part hadn't melted a whole lot and everything was creamy, not too sweet, and the mango was perfectly ripe. The chewy balls were great in texture too. This place is packed with a wait. The Taste Everything was yummy, sweet, and refreshing on a warm day. We had mango sago (like a mango fruit cup), passion fruit boba, and another mango sago drink. The wet mangoes were fresh and juicy. The passion fruit boba I had had crystal boba with lots of other bottom toppings which was a generous serving. The Ambiance Nice decor, pretty clean, soft seats. There's also a waiting number you can see too which I don't see often at most boba places. I'd come here again to try other things on the menu, including the pancakes. read more
10/10 spot to get your sweet fix! The interior here has a decent amount of seating but can definitely get busy post-dinner. It's in the 99 ranch plaza and there's a parking lot. My go-to is the mango & coconut juice with sago or crystal jelly. The mangos here always taste so fresh! This location offers other types of desserts whereas the location in Valleyfair only has the standard mango drinks. I've yet to try the other desserts but I don't doubt they're good. If you like mangoes, come here! New yummy dessert spot that opened recently in Milpitas. They have coconut pudding, mochi, and durian pancakes but decided to get their mango sago drink to try. Perfectly sweet for after dinner. I hope to try their mango mochi next time! They get super busy but we just missed the rush around 630pm. Not much seating, probably 6-8 tables in total and some standing room. One thing to note was some of my sago was frozen but otherwise, everything was good. read more

The infamous HK mango dessert shop finally open another location && it's in Milpitas! Right next to the new popping Jun Bistro that's been a fave of mine - this dessert shop is hard to miss, with either a long line and or just people standing/eating outside. The inside is actually pretty spacious and reminiscent of a Dessert cafe in HK, esp. with the limited seating (lol). And although lines may seem long, it moves relatively fast. Menu offers a variety of Asian desserts but ofc mainly focused on mango, which is a must try since it's what they're known for. Food talk: (1) Mango Mochi - great texture with a yummy coconut flake exterior, while the chunky mango inside is juicy and refreshing. (2) Mango Pancake - sooo nostalgic and really takes me back to HK. The cream and mango filling is pretty tart and not too sweet, while the pancake exterior is the perfect light and thin wrapper. (3) Mango Pudding - this was also good, not the best I've had but still very tasty. The texture was a bit more firm but the flavor was nice and perfectly tart, while the evaporated milk added a bit of sweetness and creaminess. (4) Mango Sago Pomelo - this dessert is def a fave of mine which I usually order at restaurants where a much more simple version is served. Here it's decked out with mango ice cream, fresh mango, and so much sago bits in a creamy icy milk - very tasty! (5) Watermelon and Aloe Vera Jelly - this surprised me since (1) it wasn't mango and (2) I couldn't alter sweetness. It turned out to be so refreshing and tasty!! The aloe Vera was a yummy jelly texture and watermelon was naturally sweet + tasty. Perfect for a hot day - but do note it's not really a "drink" but more like a full on dessert...with all the aloe chewing action going on (lol) - it'll for sure fill you up. read more

It was pretty thou Aloe & Aloe Jelly in Watermelon Juice $7: very refreshing. Loved the texture of the aloe and aloe jelly in the drink. Natural sweetness from the watermelon Durian Pancake $8: huge durian fan, so no complaints here. Fluffy pillow like feels with every bite. Basically whipped cream plus durian in the middle wrapped by almost a crepe like exterior .:: Service / Ambiance / Parking ::. Order at the front. Cashier was nice. The mango coconut sago was very good and sweet. We also got the J3 pomelo sago but the pomelo was a bit bitter. Overall it was still very good. The drinks and the bowls on the menu need to be differentiated a bit better. Service was also very fast. read more
