Came across Huicho's Tacos several years ago while working in Redlands. With all honesty, it typically would have been a place I would have driven right by. I even had my reservations pulling up to the parking lot for the first time many years ago. However, if there's one piece of advice I can offer...don't judge this book by its cover. The food is fantastic! Personally one of my favorite spots in Redlands when I'm in the mood for Mexican food. Located on Colton Avenue, Huicho's Tacos occupies a stand-alone establishment with plenty of free parking for customers. It is a quick-service type of set up to order food, though they have a few seats for customers to sit and eat their food in shop. I recently came by after several years of being away from Redlands, and everything from the service to the food was just as good as I remember. My husband and I were warmly greeted upon entering and the lady working the register was so kind and patient as we asked a million questions to finalize our order. Though they were a little busy while we were there, the food came out in a reasonable amount of time. Totally worth the wait as our meal was warm, fresh, and tasty! We ordered several tacos and a chicken quesadilla to go. All were great, but my favorite had to be the Carne Asada tacos. The Carne Asada was tender and flavorful. All tacos were PACKED with their respective proteins. Generous and well-worth the price. Our only gripe was that our chicken quesadilla (though tasty) was still loaded with bones from the chicken. One or two, we could have shrugged it off, but it seemed like every piece of the quesadilla had 5+ little bones in them. The enjoyment of eating the quesadilla was consumed with a focus for fishing out bones with each bite. Luckily, the tacos made up for it exponentially. Though I will probably steer away from their chicken quesadilla in the future, Huicho's Tacos is still my favorite place for tacos in Redlands. If you're in town or close by and deciding whether to give them a try...go for it! Looking forward to my next visit. read more

Food is a hit or miss. Most of the time the flavor is good BUT the food is usually always cold. That's right, cold. It is summer time and it's 100 degrees outside and they don't even have the air on. It's cloudy with all the smoke that's in here and SO HOT we can't even finish our food. He had to leave because it was so uncomfortably hot in here. I can't even imagine how much sweat went into our food from the cool sweating back there. Cold food, hot atmosphere, they have it reversed. Fix the issues and we will come back. With enough Tapatio, my wife could eat her shrimp cocktail. She said her shrimp taco was the worst she had ever had. The sauce tastes like bathroom cleaner. We've been to this local taqueria twice now and it was great both times. Some meats I recommend: 1) Cabeza if you like slow cooked meat 2) Asada - has a great smoked flavor 3) Tripa - crunchy exterior, almost reminds me of pork belly. Quite different than the tripe at other places, I liked it For salsas this place has a self-serve bar where you can get limes and sauces. I tried a hot red salsa that went pretty well with the meal. The only thing I would have liked is to have more onion and cilantro in my burrito. So I would recommend asking for extra if you go. read more

Let me start by saying the food or the tacos I ate had really great flavor my favorite was the salsa. I went on taco Tuesday and the tacos are 1.99 which is a bit pricey for me because they are small and don't offer asada. I usually don't get soda but I did this day because I was in the mood for some orange Fanta. When I ordered the soda I specifically asked the lady if the soda had refills and she said yes so i processed to pay and sat down. The tacos came out quickly and nice and warm but when I went for my second refilled she said she had to charge me I was a bit confused because she should have told me when I asked it was limited to two and I wouldn't have inhaled my soda lol. I will definitely be going back to try the chilaquiles and other items maybe just no soda lol. This is the worst Mexican restaurant to go to in Redlands, California. Me and my sister and my nephew were starving and we wanted to stop to try a new Mexican restaurant. We decided to come to this restaurant. I asked to use the bathroom I had to wait, which is OK but then when I went into the bathroom, they did not have anything to dry my hands with, when I went inside to ask for a napkin, a guy who looked like his hands were never washed, handed me a paper towel over the counter, and it was already contaminated because his hands were filthy. I went home and I opened it and instead of providing Beria tacos as ordered, I got four street tacos. I was charged additional cost after calling back up and talking to the server Luis, He told me that he did nothing wrong and that I can bring the food back to the restaurant to be charged more for the correct order when I was charged and given the wrong order. As I'm speaking with him, he is challenging me and arguing with me. I am not me over the phone and said it's not my fault. It's the back's fault. He took no accountability and was arguing with me like a child. I would not recommend anyone to go to this high cost food chain that is so disgusting and disrespectful to their customers. A professional place would've said please come back up and We will fix the order. We apologize that you went all the way back home and had to come back. We will take care of you. No problem instead he's gonna charge me additional money for each taco that was wrong and on top of that very unapologetic and unprofessional I would not recommend this restaurant to anyone who wants Mexican food. I came here with my mom the other day for lunch and had a good experience! It's a little hole in the wall Mexican place with great Mexican food and friendly staff. Ambiance is clean and super casual. You order at the counter and then sit down and wait for your food. The woman at the counter was very friendly and the prices were reasonable. They have a nice selection of agua frescas and I tried the strawberry. It was super fresh and not overly sweet. I opted for the chili verde burrito with rice, beans, and cheese. The chili verde was super tender, lean, and flavorful. The burrito was a good size and I loved how they did not skimp on the cheese (I feel that many places don't put enough cheese). When I checked in, I got a free chips and salsa. Their chips are good--crispy without being greasy and not overly salted. Their salsa is also fresh and flavorful. I also tried a shredded beef taco which came with lettuce, pico, and cheese. The beef was also super savory and the taco itself was crisp without being too greasy. I thought that it might be better with less lettuce and more cheese though. Overall, clean, friendly staff, good prices, and delicious food! I will be back. read more

I ordered a chorizo torta with ham and also red chilaquiles with an horchata to go and they were both soggy. The torta was wrapped in foil and the bread was so wet, it started to fall apart with every bite. It was moist and unenjoyable. And each and every single Mexican spot I encounter, I will always order their carne asada burritos (wet, if they have it). We ordered: -Carne Asada burrito $8.49 -Carne Asada burrito (Wet) $9.99 ($1.50 more to make it wet) -California Burrito $9.99 I've had better wet carne asada burritos, but this was definitely too salty. Every spot I've been to, I've only paid $1 more for a wet burrito. I paid $1.50 more here and they barely gave me any! I felt duped. The presentation on the burrito was disturbing, I tried my best to crop the photo to make it more appetizing to look at. I wouldn't come back unless this was the only Mexican spot open around Highland area. There's also a free chips and salsa for Yelp check in! Looks like your average restaurant from the outside, but the food tastes amazing! We tried 5 different tacos and the chiliquiles. It's my favorite chiliquiles ever! Too bad I live 3 miles away. The dish looks ordinary, but when you taste it, it tastes so much better than any other had. Such flavorful sauces and meats. We found this place as we were driving home from our camping trip. Friendly Mexican food restaurant that had plenty of space for our party of 18! Very friendly and fast service for such a huge party. I got the steak fajitas and the steak was really tasty. The burritos I saw around the table were huge. Only cons were no guacamole or sour cream with the fajitas and we paid extra for it. This is a small neighborhood joint on the corner in a old area of town. It's on a big lot with lots of Parking.inside there are 5 booths for 4 persons each. Very nice girl working the counter. I would love to have her as my employee, she treats everyone so nicely. The Tacos were good and the Pozole was also good. They have a salsa bar which will give your food that extra kick.
