The only thing I like about this place is that the food is good. I've been here several times hoping it would be better this time, but nope. The first couple times I went, was out of choice but then it was because other people wanted to try it. The service is the MOST AWFUL service I've experienced at any restaurant ever. It's almost like they train their people to suck. The servers don't seem to like their jobs or want to be there. Everything takes FOREVER! It seems everyone who works there has this attitude like you're bothering them. It's extremely bizarre. I can't quite put my finger on it. So, for Mother's Day, instead of going, we decided to order food and come home instead. BUT it took AN HOUR to get it! AN HOUR! Fries were perfect and crispy and love the 3 dipping sauces and herbs on top of them. The server said they only have 1 mocktail and I think it would be beneficial for there to be more NA options. My friend did like her aperol spritz! The service was too attentive. I know they mean well and I definitely prefer too attentive to not attentive at all--but I think there's something to be said for reading nonverbal queues and approaching your tables when appropriate not when they are deep in conversation or their mouths full of food. Also would prefer not to have 10 different people asking how everything is and bringing dishes one by one. Worst. Customer. Service. Ever. Arrived with a party of seven. Informed they only had two booths that would accommodate a party of our size. It would be an hour wait. Saw two 4-tops next to one another, empty. Could we have both of those? Yes, "but we can't put the tables together." Go to the tables expecting them to be firmly secured to the floor so you couldn't move them. No, free standing and movable. Flagged a woman working the floor and asked if we could put them together. "NO, our policy is we don't put tables together - we have a small kitchen and can't have too many large orders hitting them." So, put us together and take two orders. "NO!" I comment their policy is stupid. She leaves, then sends out owner or head waiter, not sure. He proceeds to tell me I have no right to argue with his staff, criticize his inane policy, and tells me I'm free to leave his restaurant. So I did, and I'll never go back and tell all of my friends not to as well. read more

Gentleman Pizza: 5/5 Italian sausage, ricotta cheese, leeks, spicy honey, thyme, and chili oil This pizza was by far superior. The chili oil combined with the juicy sausage and honey was a flavor explosion for the senses. Service: 5/5 The waitress was elegantly dressed and was polite when speaking to us. She made sure to stop by our table several times to check up on us. Ambiance: 6/5 My friends and I showed up and realized that we were underdressed. The environment is upscale and quaint. No one greeted us for the first 10 minutes then it took forever for the rest of the service. Other people came in and got their food before us (we were just a party of 5). A friendly young blonde seated me quickly, and though I'd just missed happy hour (which runs daily until 5:00 PM for those curious), I was excited to dive into the menu. Our server was beyond helpful--patiently answering all of our questions and clearly knowledgeable about the dishes. The ambiance? Perfect. Clean space, and the music was just the right volume, allowing my friend and I to have a real conversation without shouting over each other. This is a really nice place. They have a small but cozy inside and a cute outdoor patio. The menu is small but I enjoy a variety but not a book of options and this is fitting for me. Their charcuterie board is one of the nicest in town. The humus is different but love it. We love the Cajun chicken sandwich. It has lots of flavor and is different than your average chicken sandwich you find on every menu. They do not have a kids menu, which is not horrible but expensive for kids to do a regular size meal. We tend to get pizza for them to share but they love the spaghetti dish with meatballs. The staff has always been friendly and attentive, no complaints. The only complaint I have is the music. It is LOUD, like crazy loud all the time and you can't escape it by sitting outdoors, it's loud there too. So, it's a fun place but hard to have a conversation and it often stops us from going. It's just not relaxing or fun to have to yell to acquaintances. Music is great but then there is this. Anyway, we have been here many, many times and encourage you to give it a try. read more

A very modern Italian feeling, with many new tales on classic Italian dishes. Being able to see the next door Raising Canes, and order Truffle Fries with "Not Cane Sauce" was very funny, and tasted incredible. Great service! Our server, Emily, came and checked on us often. At first, everything on the menu seemed too spicy for my mom so we were going to go next door, but Emily told us they could leave the jalapeño and spicy aioli off so we decided to stay. The decor is absolutely beautiful! Very basic but elegant. The live music is a little too loud, however, it was great and the singer was very talented. The employee uniforms are a tacky, and far from 'humble' (or modest). The women were wearing mini skirts so short they would nearly moon you when they had to bend over to reach when cleaning the tables off. Totally killed the vibe. It gave the vibe of The Tilted Kilt. Not cute. The caprese appetizer was absolutely delicious, however, it needed more bread. The hamburger, is the best burger we have ever tasted!! Lovely place. Easy to find and has great amounts of parking. The interior of this place was quite modern and was kept clean. The exterior patio was just as nice. It was great to be able to enjoy food outside with the weather being lovely. The food was delicious as I had their "humble wings" which were cooked as a dry rub and a sauce of your choice (mine being buffalo) on the side. Wings had a good cook and good texture. Their cesar salad was yummy and interesting as they used grilled brussels sprouts to add texture, rather than a traditional crouton. The dressing was good. They come with three sauces to dip in which all were great We also got the smorgasbord which was alot of food and comes with fresh made forno bread. The meats were really high grade and the chili oil added whipped ricotta paired with the pepperoni and the forno bread is heavenly! Order the Pasta Rosa and Meatballs are also great. The pasta was cooked just right with a delicious Rosa sauce and adding the soft meatballs with the marinara was a solid dish all around. Everything we had here was top notch. Starting with the Unshackled Prisoner wine, to the awesome charcuterie board, the smaller one which was a perfect size for 5 of us. I got the Wedge salad with chicken and asked for some of the crispy Brussels sprouts leaves from the charcuterie but they way overloaded it and charged a couple bucks for it but still got eaten after dumping some off to the side. We've decided this is our new neighborhood hangout. The ambiance is great and you have to try the white sangria (chef's kiss). It kinda tastes like an orange creamsicle. My husband has had the short rib pasta and fettuccine and I tried the humble Caesar salad. Believe me when I say this is the best Caesar salad I've EVER had! Add blackened chicken and I'll be your new best friend just for recommending it to you. I've been several times to get the salad and I believe it's the manager who always helps me. AMAZING! the food was delicious my wife and I had the humble fries and humble Cesar with grilled shrimp and it was delicious and the drink selection was awesome my wife got winearita and it was refreshing and the twist of white wine instead of tequila was delicious and I got the hello peaches and it was so good my wife and I shared the short rib pasta for our main course and that was amazing as well and we finished the night with the crème brûlée and our server was amazing thank you marine for making our date night amazing! read more

Sadly, this was a horrible dining experience. It was super hot inside, I wasn't sure if they were having issues with the AC or keeping it off deliberately. The noise level was so loud that we couldn't hold a conversation, and they increased the volume at some point, making it even harder to talk. The Brussels sprouts were okay, the French fries fine - not crispy though. The most disappointing thing was my dish, the cremini sacchetti- after reading many reviews on here, I chose to order this dish. It was swimming in a pool of oil - absolutely terrible. I had my first visit to Humble Bistro in Gilbert, last night. A friend and I sat on the patio. We arrived at about 5:30 pm on a Friday and we were early enough to miss any wait. We sat on the patio which has a quaint, cozy, European feel. A nice water fountain and a couple of fire tables, along with the greenery, marble topped tables and umbrellas add to the vibe. The one thing I did notice in was that the music was quite loud. It was a cool mix of music we all probably know and then songs in French/Spanish/Italian. The music seemed better once the restaurant started filling up and the conversations were louder. Our server was great! Very knowledgeable about the menu and food, which we had questions about. She was friendly and attentive. The restaurant is going with the European flair in their food. We started by sharing the Smorgasbord, a sampling of a few of the appetizers. I think our favorite on the platter was the Humble Brussels. So good! We were pleasantly surprised by the Whipped Ricotta with Chili Honey, which was delicious on the bread. The photo in this review really doesn't do the board justice. It was delicious! For dinner my friend and I decided to share the Cold Water Mussels et Frites. I love mussels (have even enjoyed them in Brussels!) but I won't be ordering this dish at this restaurant, again. The mussels were quite small and prepared in the Classico style which had too many red chili flakes in it (also, I've never had mussels with red chili flakes and I felt the heat detracted from the other flavors I was looking for in the wine, butter, garlic and lemon broth). The frites (fries) are suppose to be one of their feature items at Humble Bistro but I felt our order was limp and, again, had too many red pepper chili flakes. If I were to order fries there, again, I would ask for them to be extra crispy with no chili flakes. Overall, we enjoyed our experience and I will definitely return! Next time, I will be ordering pizza (The Gentleman, to be exact!) and one of the salads, to share. Added note: the lighting is very soft, and nice. It's a beautiful setting in the evening! read more
