Listen, the food is amazing but the service is not great. If you have a large party don't come here. I've been here multiple times with large parties and they just don't accommodate you at all and everyone gets split up and that's really annoying. So many excuses on why we can't be seated together and that it's a hazard and tables can't be moved It's too bad because me and my friends love the food so much but when we all want to go it's impossible to all be seated together. So basically go if you don't have a large group. Food 10/10 service 5/10 this review is basically for the service. read more

Ok, there's a bit of a long explanation to this review, but anyone considering Humble for a large party (we had 13), listen up!! Tonight, we had a family birthday planned for another restaurant. This plan was made weeks in advance as everyone lives all over the valley, there are little kiddos, and life is busy for our family. The restaurant we planned to go to (hint: it's next door to HB) didn't take reservations but we planned to get there early and wait for a spot. We tried to call ahead to that restaurant, and they wouldn't take call ahead's on football Sundays. So, when we got there, 45 min early, we checked in and they told us they only had one area they would allow us to sit at and it was currently being used by a group who were "having a baseball meeting and they had already eaten but weren't ins hurry to leave" and we could wait and see if they eventually left or find somewhere else. While this seemed insane to me, why would you not eventually inform that party that there are other parties waiting and the table needs to be turned over, but that's just me. So, we decided to switch up the plan. This was stressful for me because there are little kids and babies in our group and I don't want to cause new parents any stress. We decided to ask Humble Bistro if they could accommodate us. They're next door, not too much of a change. Humble could take us immediately, it was outside, but they had heaters and were as accommodating as they could be. The service was fantastic, the staff were so helpful, kind and patient. The food is just amazing. The whole night was perfect!!! My whole party commented on how glad they were that we moved to HB, that the food was great, and it ended up being the best night. Great adult friendly restaurant with a great bar, good wine and excellent food. I love that they don't try too hard, and I mean that in the best way. The menu is not pretentious. You're not going to find $80 steaks here. But when you walk in it feels no different then a higher end, over priced, steak joint. I had the cauliflower tahina appetizer and the short rib pappardelle. Both had great flavor and seasoning. I LOVE that they make their own pasta, it makes such a difference. They also had one of my favorite red wines. Pricey but worth it. Using my trademarked scoring system. Service - 3 out of 5, nothing special, we did have to wait longer then I typically like for an extra napkin, fork, etc. They weren't busy and it was NYE so maybe the staff was off celebrating early. Ambiance - 4 out of 5, we loved the decor, the look and feel, the music they were playing. Yes, leave the kids at home, you have plenty of other options in the area, a good clue that this restaurant is not kid friendly would be that the menu does not have a kids menu with chicken tenders. The bar was beautiful. Again, it felt much more expensive then what it was. I was happy with the bill, I was expecting to pay more. Food - 5 out of 5, the star of the show. Everything popped with flavor, the meat was tender, the pasta was cooked perfectly, the appetizer had great flavor. And my favorite red wine. Overall I was very happy and I will go back again very soon. This restaurant is not some over priced guilt inducing indulgence that you only go to on special occasions. I can see this place being a weekly/bi-weekly visit for me. My average comes in at a 4 star review. Which I feel is about right. Service could use some help and be a little more attentive. But for what you pay and what you get this is a great restaurant. read more

I'm surprised this restaurant has a 4 star review. The service was bad, the waitress never even asked how the food tasted and she only came over to our table twice. I got the alfredo and it was the most bland alfredo i have ever tasted and the chicken was burnt. I guess thats what they mean when they named it "cajun" chicken alfredo. We stopped in for a little late night date night. It was surprisingly busy still with one hour left to service. We got their Maximus pizza, humble fries, and Cajun chicken pasta. Pizza was awesome. Fries were hot and crisp. Pasta was a little under seasoned and the chicken was thin and dry. Which is too bad since the pasta itself was good. The bill came out to be around $67ish. The fries being almost $9 and there wasn't much on the plate. I would say this spot is a bit pricey for the quantity. The ambiance is nice and service was okay. Food was amazing, and it came out in a reasonable amount of time even when the restaurant was busy. Atmosphere was great. I really liked that the booth we were in had dividers up to the ceiling, however they were painted black. With the dim lighting it made it difficult to see the menu and food in the booth. It might be a better seat during the day. My only "complaint" would be the slow service from our waitress, although she was very kind and very knowledgeable about the menu. I came here with my boss a few weeks ago and I can't wait to return. The food was absolutely incredible! Cremini Sachetti - if you get anything, get this. The sauce was incredible. Those Camarones - this was delicious! Perfectly prepared. Humble Brussels - perfect crispy brussel sprouts. Smorgasbord - everything was so tasty. The whipped ricotta with honey was a standout. The service wasn't super attentive, hence the 4 stars. It was a little hard to flag our server down to get boxes and the check, or a refill... but the food made up for that. Love humble bistro. I've visited a bunch to the Phoenix area and this last visit couple weeks ago was my second time there and it didn't disappoint again. Service is good and attentive. Both times our server was really nice but some what lacked knowledge about the drink menu. I really wanted an espresso martini but they didn't have one. Brussels sprouts- hands down best I've ever had. Crispy, leaves pulled from the sprouts and deep fried and they come out so good every time. A nice dressing on the side as well with some sort of nuts. Will always get this in the future. Caesar salad- great salad with the same mixture of crispy Brussels sports in it as the app. Mushroom pizza- napoleoton style pizza, really good dough and cheese. Went to a Friday evening relaxing dinner with my wife. It was REALLY busy as expected, and parking was pretty difficult. However, once we got parked and walked to the front entrance, we were greeted immediately and seated inside. Their menu is pretty broad and has a variety of dishes that can cater to anyone. We ended up ordering the crispy Brussel sprouts with hummus, the fries that came with my mussels cioppino. The Brussels sprouts were probably my favorite as they were crispy with a delicious balance of salty texture, along with the smooth hummus. The mussels were pretty good and plentiful in the dish however there were a lot of broken ones in my dish which meant I had to fish out tiny shells. The soup base was pretty salty but went well if the tortilla crisp they included but wish there was as second piece. Lastly, the fries were cooked well and the chipotle mayo type dip was delicious. Overall, I would recommend this place for the food but be prepared to wait (ordering food and wait times were really high). read more

I've been here twice now and I really like the food. The restaurant is beautiful and you can tell they spent a lot of money on the atmosphere. Service was very attentive. I loved my dinner there but have a complaint about my lunch experience. The music is way too loud. We asked them to turn it down, but we were told that corporate office controlled the volume. Several of us had never been to Humble Bistro, and we were looking forward to trying it. 11 of us went for lunch and were told we could not all sit together-- the manager would have to give approval to pull tables together, but, the manager was not there, and not due in until 11:30. I have NEVER been to a restaurant that refused to accommodate a large group! We ended up leaving and going next door, where they greeted us with open arms and happily accommodated our group. Overall the food is delicious and the place has a very nice interior. I would usually leave a more positive review but the server/restaurant is unable to split checks per person/couple. They can only split 50/50 etc. Additionally there is no baby changing station in the bathrooms. Loved this place! I am vegan and during this visit (my first) I went with a large group and was fearful of limited food options. To my surprise there were many! I got the 2 appetizer options of the jalapeño hummus and tahini cauliflower- both beyond incredible, the bread that comes with the hummus is to die for, I even got some to go. The service is incredible and ours was super helpful and friendly. Additionally, there were many drink options but I stuck with the house Cabernet Sauvignon which was delicious. My husband and I paid a visit to Humble Bistro pretty close to closing time on Friday night. The staff were all so friendly and quick to seat us, which is pretty rare for a Friday! Not to mention our waiter, William, was pleasant, personable, and quick to serve. Our food was made faster than I've ever had serviced-- not to mention it was so delicious and fresh! The brussels, shrimp, and pizza are my top choice! The mood is so classy with Italian / French music in the back. I like that it's loud enough that I don't hear the tables next to me, just my preference. We will be frequenting Humble Bistro from here on out! read more
