The restraunt is a throw back to the 1970s . They put on the table fat fried noodles with duck sauce and tea in the traditional tea pot. The food is plentiful and excellent. Service is quick so it slow down your eating. The decor is a time warp in a good way. The best Chinese food my family has ever had.

The owner is very friendly. Since it was our first time there, he walked over and introduced himself and even asked where we were from. It appeared that most of the patrons were regulars. We had Wonton Soup, Sesame Chicken, and General Tso's Chicken, everything was delicious and the price was reasonable. Only drawback is that we felt a little rushed. One of the employees brought over our bill while we were still eating. Didn't appreciate that at all, especially because the restaurant was fairly empty and no one was waiting on a table. Nevertheless, can't wait to go back.

I ordered gluten-free food from Hunan Dynasty for my daughter, and what happened was terrifying. While eating her rice, she started choking and spit out a full metal staple that was literally inside the food (not the bag). It cut her mouth, and as a mother, I was horrified and shaken. I immediately called the restaurant to ask how this could possibly happen, and the man who answered the phone said, "It must be magic." I could not believe the lack of care in that response. I asked for a full refund since we obviously couldn't eat the rest of the food, and at first, they only offered to refund one combo. After pushing back, they finally agreed to refund everything--but only if they came to pick up the food. Sure enough, within minutes someone showed up and collected the half-eaten food. Honestly, I shudder to think about what they did with it afterward. This was not only terrible customer service but a truly dangerous situation. I will never order from here again, and I worry for anyone else who does.

I really liked this restaurant. It was nice and clean inside. The staff were friendly and helpful. They were very attentive always filling my water glass and taking any dirty plates off the table. On the table when you arrive is complimentary fried noodles. These noodles are amazing. People come just to order the noodles to go. They also give you a pot of tea. I started with ordering 4 wings for an appetizer. They were really crispy. I didn't like the chicken inside though. However, the crispy skin was great. I also ordered sesame chicken with white rice. My friend ordered sesame beef. The meals were absolutely delicious. At the end, they give you fortune cookies and some pineapples. We were full so didn't finish all our food and they back everything up for you. The bill came to around $50 for my friend and I which wasn't bad. I will definitely be back for those noodles.

First time I've tried Hunan Dynasty. We did takeout and they were fast & accurate. They have the Chrissy wide noodles & childhood sweet duck sauce. The eggdrop wanton soup was so flavorful. The fried rice has large chunks of pork, egg & vegetables. The sauce for the chicken & broccoli was very loose but the flavor was perfect & everything was cooked well. The roast pork chow fun noodles were gummy & thick. And it had a ton of pork & veggies. Really enjoyed the food and will definitely order from there again since Chinese food season is here.

Everything we ordered was delicious. The house special soup is my favorite. Hunan will often custom your dishes if you ask! We ordered brown rice sushi and changed ingredients in our chicken with vegetables. I had my chicken in tangerine chicken sautéed not fried. This is our go to place for delicious Chinese food

***INDO-CHINESE FLAVOR BOMB IN YOUR MOUTH*** ***SUPER…read moreFRIENDLY FAMILY-RUN RESTAURANT*** INDO-CHINESE? In the early 1800's a large number of Chinese citizens, immigrated to Calcutta, a city in the northern part of India, close to China. After becoming established, many of these immigrants started opening restaurants to support themselves. And then, because of a lack of certain ingredients, and to tailor the food to the palates of the Indian citizens, these Chinese chefs altered their recipes. And these new recipes, incorporated certain Indian spices, and a heavier use of spices and sauces - which made these new style dishes especially appealing - and created what is known today as Indo-Chinese, or Indian-style Chinese food. MASTER CHEF MIKE TENG Mike Teng, son of Hakka Chinese parents, was born and raised in India. He started cooking at 14, and eventually became a head chef preparing Indo-Chinese food in Mumbai. Then in 1984, he emigrated to the US and worked in the restaurant industry, until he became executive chef at the famous Jade Eatery & Lounge in Forrest Hills Queens. And it was here that he became notorious for his unique cuisine, and went on to receive numerous accolades. A DIFFERENT APPROACH After seven years of grueling work at Jade, Mike decided to take a break from the restaurant industry for a while. Then in 2019 he opened Teng's Restaurant, and set up operations in a way that would minimize work. As such, the restaurant would only open for dinner, between 4-11 PM, and there would be minimal table service. So let me explain how this works: You sit down at a table, and a friendly family member takes you order and helps with recommendations if necessary. And then you grab paper plates & cups, and plastic utensils from a shelf by the front counter. There's also a refrigerator here with drinks to choose from. And then the food is served to you at the table in take-out style containers. THE KEY TO ORDERING HERE There are a relatively large number of items on the menu, but most of the dishes can be broken down into a few different styles, such as Hakka Chili, Manchurian, Salt And Pepper, Orange, Szechuan, Basil, Kung Pao, and Ginger & Scallion. And the key to ordering here is to avoid choosing multiple dishes in the same style, as the meal & flavors can become one-note in nature. But if your vigilant, and pick some of the best items from each style, you will be rewarded with an Indo-Chinese flavor bomb in your mouth. FIRST TIME? GIVE THESE A SHOT So a few recommendations to try on a first visit, if you're able to enjoy spicy foods would be: - Hakka Chili Style Chicken or Beef - Salt and Pepper Style Fish Filets or Chicken - Orange Chicken or Kung Pao Chicken - Manchurian Style Fish or Chicken - General Tso's Chicken or Tofu - Ginger and Scallion Chicken - Szechuan Wontons or Momos - Orange Glazed Wings or Hakka Chili Wings - Basil Fried Rice - Hakka Noodles And here's a few vegetable recommendations: - Manchurian style Cauliflower or Salt and Pepper Cauliflower - Szechuan Potato or Potato with Black Bean Sauce - Spicy Stir Fried String Beans. - Mapo Tofu - Manchow Soup with or without meat YOU'RE PROBABLY GONNA LOVE THIS PLACE After many visits here with dozens of different people, I've noticed first-timers always react the same way when trying one of chef Teng's best dishes. Their eyes open wide, and the head starts slowly shaking side-to-side, and then I hear grunts of mmm! or wow! I mean really, it never fails to be a wonderful surprise for everyone. But don't get me wrong, not everything on the menu is a home run. For example, some of the Asian fusion dishes such as Pad Thai or Mango Chicken are just weird. So even though there are some things to overlook here, such as no lunch service, or the cafeteria style vibe, If you choose some of the chef's best dishes, for sure that flavor bomb is going to hit you right in the mouth, and you'll definitely be coming back here for more. I always do.

This review is solely on the chicken burger as I'm saving the momos for dinner. The chicken burger was absolutely delicious. Way better than a grilled chicken or fried chicken sandwich from a fast food place. This burger was actual ground chicken seasoned with veggies. You can literally see the seasoning and veggies in the burger. You get seasoned curly fries with the burger as well. While I waited for my food to be prepared, an employee was making coconut ladoo which is like a grated coconut and sugar truffle of sorts. He gave me one to try while waiting, which I thought was very nice of him. All in all, I would for sure go back to try various menu items, including the drinks. Atmosphere, its a regular take-out/casual sit down place.

Tucked inside an unassuming shopping strip just a block from Nassau University Medical Center,…read moreKesar Foods is a hidden jewel that transcends expectations with its generous hospitality, garden-like décor, and a menu that dances across the subcontinent and beyond. This South Asian kitchen artfully blends regional Indian specialties, including those from China and even Nepal, from tandoori sizzlers to street food classics and rich breads, offering a culinary journey few places in Nassau County attempt with such finesse. The food is all created fresh and on location. The showstopper at lunch was the Tandoori Jumbo Shrimp--enormous, flame-grilled prawns with a whisper of char and a radiant glow of saffron and masala. Juicy, fresh, and masterfully spiced, each bite was an explosion of flavors. On the side, the Mixed Vegetable Pakora arrived as a festival of color and crunch. Generously portioned (enough for four), these fritters were golden, airy, and studded with spinach, onion, and root vegetables. Paired with tangy tamarind and zesty mint chutneys, the contrast of warmth and spice was irresistible. The Paneer Paratha--both the house-style and traditional--is a must. Each portion unfolds layers of flavor, the crisp edges giving way to soft pockets of mildly spiced cheese. The Mango Lassi is perfection: chilled, velvety, and sweetened just right, it may be one of the best renditions I have tried. The dining room feels like a serene indoor garden--canopies of flowers and vines cascade from the ceiling, with golden chairs and glass-topped tables beneath. A display case beckons with treats and house-made desserts, while framed wall art pays homage to India's culinary diversity. Kesar Foods dares to represent India's full culinary spectrum. Warm service, vibrant ambiance, and extraordinarily fresh dishes make it a rare and welcome addition to East Meadow's food landscape. The owner Naveen takes great pride in his food. Nothing mass produced, only the freshest ingredients and cooked with love. Highly recommended--especially for hungry medical professionals in need of a nearby, nourishing escape.
