It was a great location, because it was just a short drive to where we were headed next, but even better so because they were on a boardwalk that had a great view of the lake, along with some outside seating. The inside was well lit, it was still a bit early, so there was no wait time at all to get seated. The hostess seated us promptly but noticed after a few minutes that we hadn't been greeted yet, so she came back over to check on us, which was super nice and very observant! Our server was wonderful. He came over with a great smile and had some great energy, and was very funny. And shame on me for not remembering his name!!!! But anywho. We had some questions on the menu, which he was great walking us through. As we ordered our food, our bevvy's came out and it was off to cheers to a great day! Not long after our food arrived. I ordered a traditional breakfast with the cinnamon pancake. There was a photo of it on Yelp that I just couldn't get out of my head, and I was very happy that I got the pancake. It was prob my fave part of the meal. The rest of my breakfast was good. Not terrible, not out the park, but it was a good breakfast. The eggs were probably my other fave bite. In a pretty large shopping center so we didn't have any issues with parking. They accommodated our large party with no issues and sat us right away. When I first walked in, it did smell like gas but that did go away as I sat there longer, didn't seem any other issues. I ordered an espresso martini and the Breakfast Tacos with Sausage, eggs, spinach, mushrooms and pepper jack. I asked for the Breakfast Potatoes extra crispy. My husband ordered the Cinnamon Roll Pancakes. Tacos were good and the breakfast potatoes were well seasoned and crispy like I had asked. The Cinnamon Roll Pancakes were good but wish it was a little more cinnamon-y. The espresso martini wasn't bad either. Enjoyed a family lunch/brunch pre-Christmas, Saturday morning. Our group was diverse of ages and our menu selections. However, conscience was everyone enjoyed their choices as well as ambiance, (large table allowing us all to sit together, visit and catch up leisurely without feeling rushed) and service. A couple of us enjoyed mimosas while all of us had water that was kept refilled continuously. The grilled shrimp tacos was my entree choice with sauce on the side with subbed grilled veggies instead of fries. MAN O MAN....those veggies were on point and my favorite, but not to be outdone, those grilled shrimp tacos were amazing, I'll definitely order this again! Very cute & eclectic inside - Azzaria our waitress was sweet & very accommodating but not attentive. We had to ask for anything needed; napkins, cholula hot sauce- one of our desserts that wasn't brought out with the others - the spinach strawberry salad is super tasty/ it was $18 with the added chicken & was literally served in a cereal bowl- huge disappointment. Finally tried Hunger Crush! Went for breakfast... The restaurant has a very crisp/clean look. Nice view of the lake if you sit on the patio... We were seated immediately, not mamy patrons. The Bloody Mary was delicious, good array of veggies. I requested the premuim (Titos). House is Taaka (ew, LoL) The waffle was delectable. Soft & warm with plenty of fresh strawberries, whipped cream & syrup. Waitress was friendly and attentive. Overall a very pleasant meal/experience. Always a good hot breakfast here, just wish they offered traditional hash browns instead of the mini potato bits. Lunch is also a good feed, ample servings and friendly wait staff. The club was spectacular and so well orchestrated. Just the perfect amount of everything and on the most wonderful bread. But let me tell you about their FRIES! OMG. I have not had such perfect fries in a long time. Just the right size, they crunch when bitten and so fresh and soft inside. Breakfast/lunch/dinner is all day. Gave us an empty bottle of ketchup, never came back to check on us, never offered refill on our water or coffee. Food was mediocre to sub standard. 2nd and last time here for sure. The service was very good. We did not have to wait long to be seated, order or served. The atmosphere is very clean and calm. I like the subway tile back splash they have, everything looked very put together. Unfortunately the food was extremely subpar and expensive. Our fried basket appetizer still had pieces of that were icy inside.. the burgers were McDonald's quality and the margarita was a tad expensive for the size, alcohol content and flavor. Overall I'd give it a 2.5 but we'll stick with 3 since yelp doesn't do halfsies. I will come back in several months to see if things have changed/improved. read more

Because I did not leave a great review last time, and because somebody did reach out to me and question my three-star review and because fair is fair, I am back. Sunday evening, but not so hot that I cannot eat outside and enjoy the beautiful view. This restaurant shares a courtyard with Montys lighthouse, fajita jacks, and another bar type place coming soon. I was sat down immediately,server came out asked me what I wanted to drink and brought my wine and water pretty much immediately. Already better than last time. However, it was with experienced eyes that I noted there are no customers in the restaurant, which is a shame. I Still think their menu is very limited but I did notice this time that the words soft opening is on the menu. Does that mean they're going to expand the menu? I truly doubt it. I ordered chicken fried chicken with mashed potatoes and veggies. I ordered a dinner with two sides so I would not have any reason to complain about an empty plate. I'm still not trying to leave underserved bad reviews but I cannot figure this place out. The name 'hunger crush' makes me think big portions, kind of like a burger joint. There are burgers on the menu and that's probably what I should have ordered but I didn't. While I waited for my food I went ahead and read all the other reviews for this place so far. There are some good even great reviews, but for the most part I think my first impression is on par with what everyone has said. I was worried about my chicken fried chicken dinner because of another review I read but I have to say in my opinion what I received tonight was a good decent portion size. Maybe a little more veggies would have been good but potatoes and the chicken are fine I don't think I need two chicken breasts or a double scoop of mashed potatoes, but the veggies were a little shy. There is another table outside with me, they were finishing up their meal and seemed pretty much okay with the food but the gentleman did give the server a good couple of tips. First, apparently he had ordered a hurricane apparently the server brought it out in just the aluminum bottle, with no ice. Also it is served unopened. Maybe Montgomery is different but in Houston that's a big no no to serve unopened alcohol. The gentleman suggested next time it gets served with a glass with ice and perhaps open because he had a hard time opening it.. good feedback without sounding like a complainer. As far as my experience tonight, definitely much better, and bonus ! I ordered my wine during happy hour, half price, so that was a solid touch. 3 Stars-Good and friendly service, good food, small portions I wanted so bad to give this place 5 stars but I couldn't and here's why.. When I came I don't know why I was under the impression it was going to be brunch food however, I understand I came later and their brunch ends at 2. That's not a problem. I stayed for a glass of Prosecco and a tomato bruschetta appetizer. The bruschetta was delicious and based on that I decided to stay for dinner. I ordered the chicken fried chicken with Mac and cheese and mashed potatoes, my guy ordered a burger. My chicken fried chicken was delicious-great flavor, Mac and cheese was okay, the potatoes were good. Now let's talk about the portions..I've never seen a chicken breast that small served at a restaurant unless it was a lunch special. I had more Mac and cheese than I had chicken breast. It was rather disappointing. I can understand if it was lunch time but this was for dinner. Even my serving of mashed potatoes were small. I suggest maybe adding two chicken breasts if they were going to be that small-something. I attached the picture. I think this place shines for their breakfast and this place seems good for lunch but I don't recommend coming here for dinner unless you are looking for a smaller portion. read more

Today's Review: Meh. Four visits over the last few months and we haven't ever been impressed, nor have we been terribly disappointed. The food is much like the decor - fine, okay, but boring, pastel...immemorable. They haven't captured the ravenous local lunch and dinner market, probably for these reasons. The place is usually almost empty, and the clientele is a pretty even mix of young families and retired folks. There's nothing wrong with this place, but there's nothing great about it either. If you can't get into Monty's, Fajita Jack's, or Akashi, this will do just fine, but you might not remember ever eating here. June 2022 Review: So now we've been two more times, with larger groups, and tried a lot of their apps and entrees, breakfast and lunch. Bottom line...meh. It's not great but it's not bad - if you made this food at home you'd be satisfied but not thrilled. Same thing here at the restaurant. It feels like the kitchen has some very competent cooks but no creative chefs. But, the formula is working - every time we've been in it's been at least half full. It'll be interesting to see what happens when Denny's finally opens up across the street. The two places are almost interchangeable for much of their menus and for their general quality. Based on prior visits to other Denny's, I'd say that's a good approximation for what we have here so it'll be interesting to see who brings in the crowds. read more

The food was delicious and could only have been enhanced with the gravy. I was suggest checking the to go order before departing. read more

Instead, it had mostly raw jalapeños on it, the bacon was severely over cooked, & the fries were cold. My wife ordered their meatloaf plate with brown gravy, but the gravy was cold & gelatinous & the side of cilantro rice she chose was super dry & tasteless. Both platters looked like they were crafted with frozen ingredients straight from the back of a grocer supply trucks. Maybe breakfast is better, but supper just wasn't very good overall. read more
