We visited this place on a whim on Valentine's Day. We were already in the area buying an office desk at IKEA and it was already too late to try to drive back home and our thoughts were either... cook or grab something in Bakersfield. When my husband, my son and I walked in we noticed this seemed to be a nice intimate place for many couples because almost the whole place was packed with couples dining in. I mean... it was Valentine's Day so that could be the reason, but it was pretty busy. They have a wide variety of options on the menu so we were unsure what to order. When we finally decided we were not disappointed at all. Husband got the bibimbap, my son got the kimchi fried rice and I got the galbi hot pot. We all tried each other's orders and we would all get the same thing again. The hot pot came w so much food that I believe the serving is enough for 2 people. The place is clean, the service was very fast and the staff all were super nice. I'm not sure if this is a family owned restaurant, but everyone was very friendly. Bakersfield needs a place like this! I would love to come back if I was in the area again. Parking was not bad. They have some parking around the corner that does not have meter parking, but I believe all the ones nearby are metered. I've been on the hunt for a Korean (or Korean fusion) restaurant in Burbank for a long time, so I had to give Hungry Crowd a chance. My friend & I visited on Sunday for lunch after 1pm. It was busy, but we didn't have to wait too long - about 10 to 15 minutes - before we were seated inside. Also, look out for street parking! We ordered a few items to share, including the Dirty Fries, the Kale Salad, and the Bibimbap with bulgogi on a hot stone bowl. First, the Dirty Fries were lightly crispy, but they were flavorful and satisfied our cravings. Second, the Kale Salad wasn't super special, but it was our buffer because we wanted something light. I remember the salad being quite vinegar-y for my tastes, but still fresh and a good contrast to the fries. Third, the Bibimbap was the star of the show. It took a while for this dish to come out - the timestamp of my pics indicate about 20 minutes later - so I'm unsure if it takes a long time for them to prepare or it was forgotten before we reminded the waitstaff a couple of times after we got the other 2 dishes. Anyway, we enjoyed the Bibimbap a lot. It was so warm and hearty! Now I've got a place in Burbank for my Bibimbap cravings. Aside from the situation with the late Bibimbap, we thought the staff was kind and attentive; frequently asking how we were doing and for water refills. I'd definitely return to Hungry Crowd to try their dinner menu - that White Kimchi Clam Pasta is calling my name. My new favorite spot in the Toluca Lake area. Had this on my must try list for quite some time. I am glad I finally tried it. Wish I had tried it sooner! I had a great experience dining here. I came on a Saturday not too long after they opened and the place was already full. Already a good sign. We were able to grab a seat at the high top tables. Our server was very friendly and attentive. My wife and I ordered the Katsu burger, honey truffle fried chicken, and kimchi fried rice. Also got two drinks as well. Everything was amazing! The fried chicken plate was huge and was super flavorful and you can really taste the honey truffle juicy chicken. Kimchi fried rice was delicious as well with lots of kimchi and beef in the dish. Katsu burger had a huge piece of pork and was delicious. They have happy hour Monday-Sat till 6:30. Parking can be found on the street or in the back by Trader Joe's. I came here for brunch a few weeks ago. I didn't get to try much while I was here. But I'm definitely looking forward to coming back. I love that their menu caters to both American and Korean tastes. I had a hankering for mac n' cheese. And something spicy. So I ordered some kimchi and asked them to put it on top of my mac n' cheese. It was freaking amazing. No joke. One of the best things I've ever eaten. You must try it!! My husband had the Green Bowl and really loved it as well. It was busy but not super crowded. There was no wait, even on a Saturday. My husband and I love coming here. We usually go on Sundays for brunch and pop over to Trader Joe's after to do our weekly grocery shopping. I believe it's a family run business, if not they give that atmosphere with how kind and welcoming they are, they always recognize us and are just so incredibly attentive and nice. The Kimchi biscuits with the cinnamon butter are the most unlikely flavor combo that will blow your mind and the bottomless mimosas are a major perk. The chicken wings, $14 is wildly too expensive for only 6 wings! To the chef or owner: Please stop using those cheap puny wings from Costco! Secondly, I have to say, the salmon Sashimi Salad is bland, boring special. Couldn't even taste the flavor of the salmon. I don't know what you can do to add more flavor to the dish as a whole, im not the chef there, however, it also fell short of caring to finish the plate. It's just a bunch of rice, greens and a vinaigrette with small pieces of sashimi. There were some healthy choices on the menu, and I opted for the chicken breast served brown rice pesto and kale salad topped with avocado and soft boiled egg. KOREAN FUSION BRUNCH W/ EXTRA LARGE BOTTOMLESS MIMOSAS !!!! We called about 1.5 hours ahead for a reservation for 4 at 12pm on a Saturday and we were easily taken in. Great! And once we arrived, we were seated immediately. Double great!! I'm not gonna bored you with details but some things to point out are: 1. Service and staff are extremely friendly and so sweet!! A little bit of banter here and there, they really made us feel welcomed. 2. Bottomless mimosas with a strict 90 minute limit but the 90 minute limit is fine because THE MIMOSAS ARE HUGE!!!! I was only able to drink about 3 because my stomach just couldn't expand anymore. (see photos)(for the mimosa, not my stomach) 3. Food menu is VERY extensive with a lot of unique Korean-american fusion dishes. Everything was yummy! Very good food. We ordered the kale with salmon and shrimp tacos. Kale was fresh but too salty, I had to drink a lot of water with it. Salmon was perfectly cooked and a good portion and quality. The shrimp was on the small side for being jumbo, tacos were overall very good. Next time I will ask for no salt on the kale salad. Creme Brule was so good especially with the berry sauce topping.
