I admit Hungry Howie's wasn't my first choice when I was looking to purchase a stack of large pizzas for a training session I sponsored but after looking at a number of options of the most popular pizza shops in the area and finding out most don't have delivery until after 4:00 PM I decided to call Howie. Prior to placing the call I knew exactly what I was ordering so I figured this would be a short exercise and my pizzas would be in the oven in a matter of minutes and I'd be all set- unfortunately I wasn't prepared for the time consuming marketing pitch even before I talked to a real person explaining all the "deals of the day" in great detail - finally a human being took over the process I told him it was real simple 5 different large pizzas all round with the original crust, but the painful process continued by verifying each pizzas individually repeating the size, crust type and toppings and finally the words I wanted to hear "does this complete your order today" yes yes yes it does so we move into the financial phase of the transaction card number, expiration date and security code - after another few minutes of confirmation I again got the "does this complete your order today" yes thank you that's all, I was then asked if I want to add drinks, or any sides with my order, my answer was definitely no as I checked my watch again hoping to end the continuous cycle of questioning and once again I got "does this complete your order today". The delivery girl arrived about 40 minutes later, she was the mostly friendly person you could ever hope for and just as important she was efficient, she set the pizzas down, had my receipt ready for my signature with the tip I stated on the phone call during the ordering process (5) pizza with tip was a little north of $90.00. The Food - the pizzas arrived hot, on time and all the pizzas were made correctly - the quality was what I expected which I've always thought is middle of the road pizza it was well executed and the quality is no fault of the franchisee, this is the business model; affordable pizza, delivered fast with some attention to quality so I'm happy. Did I want a higher end product, absolutely but those shops weren't interested in delivering for lunch even though they advertise they do. There are bugs almost all over the back of the house every night at both this location and at the store in providence blvd in Daytona, none of the things on the menu are made with proper protective equipment at both locations and these locations have been known to have infestations of rodents if you don't believe me simply check around the stores themselves. On top of all this the manager a average wannabe Gordon Ramsey constantly harasses his employees when they are making any simple mistakes. None of the employees I've seen have worn gloves and they usually have a child running around all the food items. I've been a customer here for years at this specific restaurant and I've given nothing but positive reviews in the past. I even questioned why their stars were low on here. Hungry Howies seemed to be doing good... This was when they had different people taking orders. Up until this year. Every time I call to place an order now I can hardly understand the person on the phone, they have too thick of an accent and they ask me 20 questions. This time, when I called. I knew I would be faced with the same song and dance so I started off telling them precisely what I want, I would answer all their wouldbe questions before they even ask them. With great detail and slowly so they can understand and THEY STILL ASK ME THE SAME QUESTIONS. It's like that scene from Dude Where's My Car where the woman over the speaker keeps saying AND THEN over and over. It's really annoying. I miss the people that used to take orders, they didn't want to know my blood type and mother's maiden name and I never had to stay on the phone for longer than 2 minutes. We have been getting pizza here for the past 4 years and we're always satisfied, until the other day we were craving pizza and drove over to order. We ordered a pepperoni an pepper with Cajun crust. It was kinda funny that we got the pizza in less than 5 minutes from the time we ordered till we had it in hand an on our way home. We got home 8 miles away, when we opened the box what a surprise we got. It was so over cooked, dried out all except the green peppers. I believe this pizza was sitting around for some time. The crust was not like they use to be ,you could tell from the bottom it was a pre- cooked frozen crust. We will never waste our time or money to get so called pizza at this location. This place was embarrassing. We are moments before a devastating hurricane and trying to purchase pizza for people in need. We were excited to hear from the cashier that we could purchase 10 large pizzas for $5 each. The manager walked out shortly after to inform us that the pricing has now changed to full price and that they cannot honor their normal daily deal. He then decided to walk back into the kitchen after raising his prices and mocked us right in front of a member of our party. The manager of this place is a complete tool. Alex was awesome, cool and very friendly when he made it possible for me to redeem my birthday reward in store. At first, I couldn't redeem it online through my mobile app, so I called the store to tell them what was going on, I was told that they were a different entity from the mobile app and that there was nothing they could do so I asked for a corporate number and they gave that to me. When I called I spoke to a woman named "Essence" -she told me that there was nothing she could do because hungry Howies is currently not participating in the rewards program in the state of Florida. She suggested that I call the store back to see what the general manager could offer me. So the second time I called the store back I spoke with Alex the general manager and told him what was going on... he said, "Okay, just come on in and I'll take care of you." I don't understand why it couldn't be that simple in the beginning, but now it doesn't even matter because I ended up receiving my medium two topping pizza as my reward, along with my small cheesy bread! All in all it was a great experience and I'm glad I called back the second time and spoke with Alex, it was definitely worth it. Five stars for outstanding customer satisfaction! :) read more

Do not support this place. The owner takes advantage of emergency situations by price gouging. He did not honor his price because of greed. I always thought the pizza was terrible and the place is always filthy. Now I have a reason to dislike this guy on a personal level.
