Just visiting from Orange Park and grabbed a pie on the way home. Staff was awesome and food was perfectly cooked. Made it all the way home and the pizza was still hot and fresh. Ok I love Hungry Howie's but they totally pissed me off today!!! I order 2 oven bakes subs like always I ask for 5 sub sauces and the veggie kit on the side. The I'm literally across the street from the restaurant but was working so I could leave. The delivery driver calls me 2 times because he is lost. We are literally across the street. I finally get my order after having to go downstairs to get it because the guy couldn't follow directions. I get my ice water and open my container. My sub was buried under these sub sauce packets. The subs were damp from the steam and the packets were nasty. This was disgusting and unsanitary. And the health department t should close them down for being so ignorant. Joe took my order and made the pizza, he said he only hears complaints but all I had was compliments for him. Sauce is supposed to come with the bread. I did order extra, but I got NONE. When I called I was told the driver might be able to bring it back. MIGHT. When I asked for clarification, I was told it was not guaranteed. So to me it sounds like you are just trying to get me to go away & not deal with it. Someone at Hungry Howies forgot the sauce. So that means it was not my fault, I have the receipt. When I asked what would happen if I didn't get my sauce, do I get a refund. I'm told yes, for the sauce only. Who eats dry bread without dipping sauce? Why am I being penalized for this? I'm then told by the girl that it's because I have bread, just no sauce. What sense does this make when sauce comes with the bread?? I then got upset about this & said that I'm not accepting that answer. I did not raise my voice & yell at her. I did not curse at her or call her any names or place any blame on her. But neither am I going to allow myself to not get everything I ordered & paid for. She then just hung up on me. I called back & then eventually a male answered the phone. When I asked for a manager/supervisor he said it was him. I then explained the aforementioned & also reiterated that I did nothing to cause this girl to hang up on me. I then asked for them to pick up everything & refund me, I wanted none of it. The guy then tells me I'm going to get a refund & they're sending no one back out. Then ends the call. STILL waiting on that refund, so now I'm doing a charge back. I did not get what I ordered & this is the worst customer service. Terrible experience. I ordered over the phone. I wanted delivery but supposedly they don't deliver to apartments. So, I preferred for pickup. They got my order completely wrong, so I had to wait while they remade it. They offered me the wrong order to take home for the inconvenience. I said ok. I listened to them talking about how slow it was, and how one of the employees's boyfriends was stuck at home without cigarettes, and she'd be back in a hour. 30 minutes later, an employee asked me what I ordered. I told him. Then he told me he wished they would've told him I was there. My pizza's been sitting aside for a while. I left in frustration. They never gave me the extra pizza they offered. I get home. It's cold, wrong, and not made well at all, and I had to feed that garbage to my hungry family. A total waste of time and money.You couldn't pay me to order there again. Hungry Howies has been my favorite pizza place since I was a kid. I had never ordered from this location before, and never will again. Imagine my surprise when I've been hyping up Hungry Howies to my boyfriend, who has lived in Florida for 9 years, but never eaten here, when we got terrible food with a terrible experience to boot. I placed an online order to be delivered at 9pm. We work overnight hours, so that's when we get up to eat dinner. The doorbell starts ringing and wakes us up. It's dark outside, so I think nothing of it and take the food. When I come back inside I realize it's only 7:20. Neither of us are ready to eat, and both need the rest of our sleep before work, so we go back to bed. When we get up I'm super excited to have food from my favorite place. Upen opening the boxes I'm greeted with nothing but disappointment. Dry, yet barely cooked pizza crust, with no garlic butter flavoring, cheesy bread with barely any cheese, a turkey club sub that looks like it has seen better days, and a salad that looks like it should have been thrown out a week ago. I call the restaurant and ask for the manager. The woman who answered said she was the manager and asked what I wanted. I explained the situation to her and was told that when they get online orders they print the ticket and don't ever look at the delivery time because they rarely get advance orders. I was made to feel as if it was my fault my food was delivered at the wrong time because they didn't do their job. This manager, who wouldn't even give me her name, was very rude and demanded to know what I wanted her to do about it, then stated that all she could do was give me a $20 credit towards my next order, IF I place it over the phone and not online. I have $50 worth of food that nobody will eat, but all you're able to do is offer me a $20 credit? That's fine, I'll be calling the corporate office. We ordered pizza from this Merrill Rd. location through their website using a credit card. The following day our card was used for 3 different unauthorized purchases at a Walmart in Greenacres, Fl. totaling over $1000. Did I happen to mention that this particular Walmart is located next door to another Hungry Howie's? We reported the card number as stolen, not quite sure what to make of the "coincident" but having some concerns. We ordered here again a couple weeks later over the phone, and I paid at pick up using a different credit card. The girl handed me my receipt for $19 and I left. A few weeks later, we discovered they charged my card $24. I'm guessing they "tipped" themselves $5 without my approval or signature - I have the receipt to prove it. I called the corporate office and they seemed to take my information with great concern, telling me that I would be contacted in 2-5 business days. Two weeks later, nothing. I emailed them through their website and it's been another two weeks with no response. I'll never do business with them again. read more

I call for the second time because the pizza was ice cold. I was offered no apology, no empathy. This was all the money I had to feed my kids dinner that night. My son went into his savings jar and came up with $20 for us to eat McDonalds instead. Absolutely despicable. After getting our order, and both of our pizzas being completely wrong, we of course called. The manager John was rude, unapologetic, and acted like WE were in the wrong, because they didn't follow the directions of the online order. I have honestly never been so angry about the customer service I have received anywhere, as I am right now. I am not a complainer, and I never go out of my way to leave bad reviews or comments, however, I am disgusted by the way this management thinks they can treat customers who just spent $50 with them.
