This place is really clean... So clean it's almost scary. I've never seen a sriracha bottle that spotless, even in the grocery store. The food is excellent, the cleanliness surely extends into the kitchen as well, everything seems fresh and well-prepared. Wait staff was super friendly and attentive. The chicken pho (we ordered veggie pho with chicken added and chicken broth to get more veggies) had a light & tasty broth that was not oily, had fresh veggies and thinly sliced chicken. No MSG is a huge plus here, no post-meal hangover. Mango Salad (with shrimp) was delicious. We also ordered the eggplant tofu hot pot, which other yelpers had recommended, and it did not disappoint. Decided to check this place out since its nearby other delicious Vietnamese food and had good ratings. Growing up eating Vietnamese food, I have quite a palate for Vietnamese food. We started with tofu spring rolls as apps. These were pretty cheap, $1 a roll! They were decent and I think I'd try the shrimp one next time. For my entree, I went with my go to order - grilled pork and egg roll vermicelli bowl to compare other places I've tried. To be honest, I wasn't really wowed with the grilled pork. It was on the dry and chewy side. It's a lighter meat than I'm used to in terms of color. Definitely a miss on this dish for me. However service was fine and it didn't take too long for food. I might give it another shot and try something else next time. read more

Been looking for a great Vietnamese place in the Seattle area. Of course, great means different things to different people. Huong Duong is pretty solid in my book. Clean, friendly, and good food. If you are looking for a hole-in-the-wall that is selling pho for the price of water, this isn't the place for you. Had the combination pho, duck soup, spring rolls, and egg rolls. All were solid. The egg rolls were interesting with a potato filling - sort of like a samosa, but in a cylinder rather than triangle. Pho could have had more meat for the price, but a nice variety. read more

Came here again yesterday with my best friends still really cute place, luckily it was still open before we got there. I ordered the mango salad this time with pho bo Kho. Definitely my favorite Pho place in the area. I rotate between their pho, beef stew, and spicy lemongrass soup. All are great. The pho is what you normally expect. Prices are fair and reasonable. Usually I don't trust many phó places that I've never visited before, but I gave this one a try and it may be one of the best decisions I've made. The broth for the Phó was perfect, not like some place which have a soapy after taste. I could drink their Thai ice tea a million times. I had such high hopes of this place by looking at all the good reviews. But not only is the food a disappointment, the location really sucks as well. Let's talk about the food first. Maybe I'm too used to food in San Francisco, but I thought everything I ordered here just OK. The strawberry smoothie was too sweet and tasted of fake strawberry flavor, maybe powder. The pho was tasteless. It was a very clear broth and I had to add salt to it. I'm used to a more flavorful broth. If I wanted clear broth I could've made it at home. The meat was little and very tough. A couple larger pieces were hardly chewable. The only saving point was the price. It was quite reasonable. I'm giving it two stars because the other food looked good. Maybe I didn't order the right thing. Now let's move on to the area. Parking lot is small! Not only that, but other shops in the area attracts smokers and people wandering around. It did not look too safe. I ordered #28 on the menu which is the duck noodle soup. I like this soup because it not only has a clean and tasty soup base which includes bamboo shoots and duck meat, but also comes with a side salad dish. The salad includes: cabbage, carrots, fried onions, and peanuts, and is refreshing to eat in combination with the hot noodle soup. For a beverage, I went with their Thai iced tea which was a hit as it tasted just right - not too sweet and had the right balance between the tea and half and half, although I've heard others substitute the half and half with milk. Overall, Huong Duong's staff is friendly and their service is great. I'd definitely recommend this restaurant if you're looking for some tasty Vietnamese cuisine! read more

This place is a hidden gem! After touring the nearby Kubota Garden, my family and I were looking for some awesome pho. We luckily stumbled upon Huong Duong and had such a fantastic meal. This place is freaking amazing! I go here every time I get a chance. I recommend the lemongrass soup (I get 5 stars, and it's actually quite spicy) but everything is amazing. Tip: avoid the parking lot and park down the street at the Safeway parking lot and walk. Neighbors to this place are so inconsiderate they'll block you in the parking lot and you'll have no way to get out. I loved everything in the Plate of Nations fixed price vegetarian meal for two: - Eggplant hotpot - Mango salad - Crispy Tofu Spring Rolls - Steamed rice Since then, I frequently order the same items. I LOVE the hotpot and the mango salad! The food is tasty, nicely seasoned and prepared from scratch. The dishes actually look as good as the food photos on the wall. The restaurant is clean and pleasant. Service is fast. Beverages include iced coffee and teas, fruit drinks, but no beer or wine. The restaurant is located 2 minutes from the Othello Light Rail station on the NE corner. Parking is really tight in the lot by the front door, so we usually park on the street behind the building. Went here for a late lunch. Food was good, and we were really impressed with the service and cleanliness at this place. Server was very polite and friendly, and he checked in with us often. We also saw the server wiped down the condiment (sauce) bottle after a customer left! That says a lot about this place. Price was very affordable. Portion was not skimpy. My husband really liked his grilled chicken and was delighted that they were willing to cook the egg as to my husband's liking. The crepe looked a bit burnt but actually didn't taste burnt, it was perfect crunchy with yummy dressing on the side. Vegetables were fresh and pickles were delicious. My soup (Bun Bo Hue) was okay. I hate writing bad reviews for places with good service... But here goes... My kid was craving canh chua (sour catfish soup)... So I found this restaurant with good reviews on yelp which was not far from our hotel. Upon arriving the small parking lot, we were lucky to find a spot right in front. Entry inside revealed a simple modest decor with very little ambiance. We were greeted and served by one guy, who was polite throughout our visit. No complaints about the service. We ordered our canh chua, large bowl of pho, and papaya goi (salad). The soup was horrendous! It wasn't door and lacked so much flavor. Worst of all, the fish was over cooked and tasted bad. My daughter was Shamnot a fan at all. She was really hungry and did her best to eat as much as she could. This has got to be the worst tasting canh chua I've ever tasted. There was very if any love in this dish. Shame on the chef for serving not fresh catfish! The pho has murky broth and very little meat. The flavor was so lifeless. It tasted as though they used canned pho broth. This was one of the worst tasting pho restaurants I've ever come across. The papaya goi was mediocre at best. Not horrible like the pho and canh chua. I was pretty dismayed to read a 2 star review of this place. I can only guess this particular reviewer keeps extra top Ramen seasoning packets in her purse and has woefully blown her tastebuds past the point of no return. We have gotten 3 or 4 different dishes every time and have yet to be disappointed. The food is incredibly flavorful, dimensional and complex without being overwhelming. I do not know why this place has four and half stars. IT IS THE WORST VIETNAMESE FOOD IVE EVER HAD. That's really bad since I am Vietnamese. I order their egg roll and pork vermicelli noodle dish. The pork was hard and you had to really chew to eat it. You can tell they cooked it more then three times. They are just giving you pork that where left over from a day or two before. It was just DISGUSTING!!!!! The egg roll had maybe a speck of meat in it and when you bit into it, it taste like mush inside. On a rainy day, nothing beats a good noodle soup. I decided to come here on a cloudy/drizzling day and I ordered the spicy lemon grass (bun bo hue). I liked their version of bun bo hue. I was able to choose from a spicy level of 1-5 and choose from thin or thick noodles. The broth was a little too light on flavor but the meats and their special meatball was really enjoyable. I chose the thick noodles but probably would have enjoyed the thin noodles more. Service was friendly as well. I'd recommend coming by and trying something out if you're around the area but probably not if you have to drive more than 15 minutes. One thing of note is the terribly small and crowded parking lot. Hard to find a spot and it's awkward to navigate. read more
