We needed dining that was Fido friendly. Not only do they have ample outdoor seating, the food and drinks were wonderful! The fish and chips were plentiful and fresh. The food I give 5 stars There were so many wrong things that happened in between arrival, ordering and paying at the end. My group of ten was there for THREE HOURS. First off, this isn't a place for a big group as it is tiny with round tables so it was not comfortable. We all started ordering our drinks and immediately ordered our food. They started slowly bringing food out 30+ minutes apart, and two hours later, we finally got the last of our food out. In between that, half of the orders were brought out wrong, and they ended up running out of lobster so we had to change orders. The bartender was kind but the waitress seemed flustered. If you are going to visit Astoria and dine out for lunch, DO NOT go on a Tuesday. The entire town has some sort of conspiracy against being open on Tuesday (dozens of places). But if you do have to visit on a Tuesday, may I recommend Hurricane Rons? This unique gem is a block away from the water, and offers all kinds of sustainable and locally caught fish and other unique offerings. Got a hankering for Kangaroo steak? They got it! Sautéed frogs legs? Check! How about a water buffalo burger? All accounted for! But really the gem is fish and chips (Rock Fish, salmon, Hallibut and Cod) all around 15-18 bucks. It's worth it though! Served with bread, seasoned fries and even pickled asparagus! Grab a seat outside and don't forget, they've got a full bar if you find yourself wanting some whisky to go with your fresh catch of the day! read more

There were four of us and no one had any special requests and ordered nothing special. And soda refill is a dollar. That's not listed on the menu and that's just silly. Best fish and chips in Astoria. We had the rockfish fish and chips and the halibut fish and chips. Both were slightly dipped with very generous portions. Rockfish cost 14 and halibut 18. Gave them a couple chances but this place is a total train wreck. Unreasonably slow service, then after waiting 1/2 an hour the owner gave our to go order to someone dinning in that had just ordered. They also over charged us and when we finally got to bite into our halibut fish and chips it turned out to be cod and one shrimp. We gave it to the cat. To top it off their phone is disconnected so we couldn't even call to have our bill adjusted. Literally every other restaurant in Astoria is far, far better. Took my 89 yr old father for a drive today and had our hearts set on fish and chips. We found this amazing place in Astoria, Oregon, on the corner of 14th and Marine drive. The food was incredible! Halibut was so fresh, batter was light and fluffy and the tarter sauce was delicious, too. They add garlic bread, slaw, fresh lemon and a pickled green bean for a splash of color! My father and I commented it's one of the best fish and chips we've ever had. I would highly recommend this great restaurant. Sat outside on a nice picnic table, enjoyed the ocean breeze. The owner and staff were very friendly. A bonus was the fresh fish market inside the restaurant, too., with a good variety of various seafood options. We'll be telling everyone we know to try this place out. And can hardly wait to come back. read more

I got the crab role, which is probably my fault for not knowing what to expect, but it was just mayo/ sour cream [with some crab in it?] on a toasted role. We visited Hurricane Ron's for the first time yesterday. Such a cute and funky place! Ron is so kind and helpful. I had the crab melt and my husband had the cioppino. Both were delicious! The cioppino had so much fresh seafood in it that my husband couldn't finish it! We also shared a bowl of chowder. Amazing!! The Hurricane cocktails were wonderful too, full of fruit juice and rum! We sat on the enclosed patio with heaters and the temperature was perfect. We highly recommend this place for a chill afternoon meal or dinner. read more
