I've stopped in twice in the last two weeks. This spot is a gem. Honestly, if it was closer to my home I'd be stopping in all the time, and it's probably good that it's a bit of a drive. The restaurant is so cute, they have some parking spots and then there's additional street parking down the side street next to it. The restaurant is beautiful and open inside, and they have additional outside seating. When you enter you order at the counter and then find a seat. I've dined in once and ordered takeout on my second visit. The team here is welcoming and friendly and it's always worth checking out what the specials are. They make everything in house and the menu changes with the seasonal ingredients that are available. I've been trying to work my way through the menu to try different items, and so far everything I've tried has been great. The first time I visited with friends and we ordered a couple pizzas, their muffaletta, Italian beef, olives and focaccia, and salsa di parmigiano. Everything was so fresh and flavorful and you could tell they put time and effort into the menu items. The fresh house made bread makes a huge difference too. On my second visit I ordered a pepperoni pizza, the Caesar salad, hummus and crostini, and Italian beef sandwich. Everything was packed with care and made it the 30ish minute ride home and tasted delicious. I'll be watching their instagram for more fun specials and I'm excited to head back for a date night.

Stopped by with friends after an event at the Old Sugar Mill. You place your order at the counter and are given a number for your table where your food will be delivered. We ordered one of the specials for the day - chicken, pesto, tomato pizza. The pizza was damn delicious. Very flavorful. All the staff were friendly and helpful. I would come back again if I was in the area.

Honestly, it's okay. We ordered two pizzas and the country pâté (pickled veggies, pâté, jamón, and toasted bread). It felt a bit pricey at $24, and unfortunately the pizza was pretty average. The search for great pizza continues.

Stopped in for an early dinner on a Thursday afternoon after wine tasting in the area. From the moment we entered to when we left, we were treated with excellent service and felt at home. Leon, who took our order and made some excellent recommendations, was one of the nicest, knowledgeable and engaging people we have met. The interior is a simple and warm design, with a wine country elegance. The food is prepared to order and represents an eclectic combination of small plates, salads, sandwiches, main dishes and pizza, all of which seems Italian directed. Although we didn't try the pizza, which looked awesome, everything we had was outstanding. The flavors, food quality and presentation were excellent. I really wish they had a place closer to our home in El Dorado Hills, because we would visit often. I highly recommend giving them a try when in Clarksburg.

Totally fabulous! We sat outdoors on the beautiful patio, excellent setting along the river road. The food was phenomenal...freshness and flavors were outstanding! The Italian roast beef sandwich was simply one of the best sandwiches I've ever had, one of those memorable items that you can't wait to have again. The kitchen kindly split it in half for us and served it with a delicious and very fresh arugula salad (that dressing!! ). We had the combination pizza as well...again, the quality of everything was outstanding! Loaded with pepperoni...hand grated cheese generously offered at table side. The cocktails were perfect...haven't had a pisco sour outside of the Bay Area and this one shined. The location couldn't be nicer... I was worried about parking but that's a non issue as it is plentiful (at least it was on a Sunday afternoon). The service was impeccable from Quinn and Gunnar...a class act across the board. Attentive and friendly, immediate good vibes. The interior is large, welcoming, and very clean...loaded with fresh flowers everywhere ...the restroom was spotless. Beautiful sink features...breezy open window with pretty curtain looking outdoors. The old schoolhouse across the road is worth a visit. Charming little town, can't wait to return.

We had dinner tonight at the new and improved Husick's by Forester. I had not been here since they have taken over the helm and I was duly impressed. Full disclosure, I worked here a year or ten ago. The place was always in need of a deep clean and a makeover. Boy did they do a great job. I also feel like this is finally being run by a group of talented grown up individuals. Matt is doing an amazing job in the kitchen with the food and menu. It is in fact next level. Ross is doing a stellar job front of house. Great customer service and downright welcoming. Please don't wait as long as I did. Do some wine tasting, take a drive, head to the pear festival, but whatever you do...stop at Husick's!

A slice of food heaven in the Clarksburg area! We came here about fourish years ago when it was owned by a previous owner. We heard about the new ownership and we had to swing by to check it out. The space is beautifully redone, it's bright and airy. You order your food and drinks at the counter. They serve local beer and wine (+ we got a spoiler that they may be getting a full bar soon). Now, the food - holy moly we wanted to try everything. They have weekly specials that look incredible. They keep their Instagram updated with their specials menu. We landed on two different sandwiches with two sides, the steak sandwich with a bean salad and a veggie sandwich (we added chicken) with the potato salad. Everything was AMAZING. I am still dreaming about the focaccia bread. 100/10 definitely stop by!!!

Came in to have a quick lunch with coworkers on a weekday. Love the vibe. Feels historic and has small town charm. Right across from the river. Walk up counter where you order food that's brought to your table. I ordered a steak sandwich, $18.99. My coworker ordered the Pizza. Both were brought to the table promptly and presented well. Steak was super soft. Bread was the star of the show. Soft, flavorful and unique. Potato salad was flavorful, chunky. Small scoop.

We used Husick's by Forester for my father's Celebration of Life. The venue was beyond gorgeous, the food was delicious, the service was amazing- the owners and staff are kind, supportive, and truly top notch. The space is special, right on the Delta, and we were able to do an Air Force Honors Ceremony on the stage. Highly recommend for an event or a meal.

What a magical night it was! Yelp has truly opened the door to some incredible friendships and this one was no exception. A fellow friend organized a fantastic group date at Husick's, nestled near the river in Clarksburg. The drive down was absolutely beautiful setting the perfect tone for the evening. We all ordered different dishes and sharing them family-style was a great way to enjoy the meal together. I'm really excited that the chef introduces a new specialty menu every week making each visit feel unique. The night we went, there was live music filling the air and the restaurant was buzzing with energy. Street parking is available along the side and across the road, making it easy to access. Trust me you don't want to miss out on this gem!

01.31.25 rainy evening, otherwise, nice outdoor patio seating on a nice warm, clear day

Dinner on the Delta with Friends [Clarksburg CA] First of all, the building is cool. It is a historic building first built as a general store. It had a wooden sign that hung by the kitchen area, "Frank Husick Hardware store" and "selling general items." I like that new owner and chef, Matt Brown, kept many of the original details of the building. It was a cold, rainy evening when I met with friends, some 8 of us altogether. There was a live band entertaining the guests, The Anthony Coleman Trio. We enjoyed the jazz music despite the loud volume and we had a great time. We placed our orders at the counter. Normally in an evening without a live band it would be a table service. Most of us ordered (for a limited time only) the featured dishes, Asian-inspired -- Salted Fish Fried Rice (salted cod, chicken, garlic, ginger, veggies, sesame and soy sauce) and Pork & Shrimp Siu Mai. Delicious! Inside was nice and cozy with all table seating (no booths). There were a couple of high table tops too. We occupied a round table. Customer service was excellent. With the open kitchen we could see Matt prepare/cook the dishes. Umbrella covered outdoor patio seating available on nice warm, clear days. Great atmosphere on the Delta, close proximity to great wineries and a stone's throw from Sacramento. Review #3684

Husick's by Forester opened its doors on Sept 13, 2024 under the helm of Chef/Owner Matt Brown. If you've ever dined at The Jungle Bird, Golden Bear, or Bodega Kitchen and Cocktails, chances are good that you've had food prepared by Matt. Although Clarksburg is out in the Delta, it's worth the visit if it's out of the way for you. Located next to the Sacramento River, the building has gone through a few iterations over the century+ years and it's currently a charming tap house and restaurant with the original "Frank Husick Hardware" sign above the kitchen! My friends and I visited on a Friday night during Husick's by Forester's "Around the World in 80 Days" in which they showcase weekly specials from different countries (1/2/25 through 3/19/25). The week's specials were: Salted Fish Fried Rice (with salted cod, chicken, ginger, and veggies), Pork and Shrimp Siu Mai (with black mushrooms, topped with green onions and a sweet soy dipping sauce), and Congee (rice porridge with fried garlic, fried shallots, scallions, and toasted peanuts) to coincide with Chinese New Year. On Friday nights, they feature a band (free music!) and change from table service to counter service. The Anthony Coleman Trio (jazz) were playing when we were there... and wow, they were awesome. All of the staff were friendly and brought our dishes out shortly after ordering. Since they also had their regular menu items, we tried the following: *Salted Fish Fried Rice* - This dish was so well-balanced and the rice was soft and fluffy. It tasted equally delicious the day after as leftovers. *Pork and Shrimp Sui Mai* - Each of the 5 dumplings were over-sized and flavorful - easily better than many of the Sui Mai found at Chinese Restaurants. *The Forester Pizza* (roasted red potato, rosemary, caramelized onions, arugula, chèvre, mozzarella, confit garlic) - The gooey cheese was sublime, the crust was perfectly chewy, and together each bite was amazing. *Hangar Steak* (cooked with garlic and rosemary and came with pickled veggies, fresh focaccia bread, and a slice of cambazola cheese) - The steak was very tender, cooked rare (exactly per our request), and seasoned just right. The de-constructed dish was a bit unusual but worked nonetheless. Heck, the steak even paired well with the fried rice! Ha! Do yourself a favor and check out Husick's by Forester. They're open Wednesday through Friday, from 11 am to 9 pm. Try one or three of their weekly specials. Chef Matt has an outstanding repertoire and executes dishes like nobody else.

I encourage your menu to have some foods available or be flexible to your customers needs... Fortunately, I have no food allergies at all. My lunch included their Black Squid croquetas (2 total). They're rich, creamy with a slight crunch (Deep Fried) and very good. I really enjoyed them even though I don't normally eat fried foods these days. Also, included was the Patatas Bravas, potatoes (Cut into about quarters size) with somewhat spicy sauce (Some might consider it spicy, but not me...) and topped with mayonnaise & garnish. I found the mayonnaise to be too much... I would have been happier with just a drizzle over the top of the potatoes would have been adequate. Not a big blob of mayonnaise. Overall, I found both dishes to be very tasty. I also, had their Teleferic Sangria (House sangria). Excellent flavor, very crisp & refreshing which includes a cinnamon stick, orange wedges & mint leaves. My overall, experience was very satisfying, delicious, but pricey ($$$). My friend tried their take on the espresso martini and it was also balanced really nicely. Everyone enjoyed their drinks and it had a good selection! Honorable mention is the patio. I didn't even know they had a patio?? Such colorful outdoor decor paired with plants made me feel like I could spend hours with my friends here. I'd easily see myself going there alone for lunch someday just to relax outside, especially during the summer. Very decent amount of shade as well. Everyone really enjoyed their food and I got the paella again. This time it wasn't mushy rice and packed full of seafood, however the dish holding the food was very shallow and not an enormous portion. I'd think the portion would maybe be split between three people easily? But any large groups would need additional orders. The empanadas were tasty as well and I'm excited to try the different options next time I come. Worth checking out and an amazing food spot for summertime to enjoy outside. I'm not kidding. These were the best Chicharron's I have ever had in my life. They were so extremely fresh with a chipotle sauce that was perfection. I can't even describe how good these things were, but talk about fresh and crispy. Triple wow. The next item was the pork belly. It was scrumptious. The right blend of fat to meat ratio. Sweet and tangy. A 10 compared to chef Ramsey's 6 that I had at Hell's kitchen. And then there was the wild west beef tacos. Now if you follow my many reviews you will know I am a taco foodie. It is hard to get a wow out of me over a taco, but oh my God, these were some of the best freaking tacos I ever had in my life! They use a tender skirt steak to line the grilled flour tortilla, and then cheese, grilled onion, and bacon with an arugula salad top. And I believe some kind of chipotle sauce. I am not kidding you, these tacos will bend your knees. I absolutely loved them. They just absolutely nailed this. The wait staff was excellent, I got a pale Mexican beer that was really good, even the lemonade was first class. This was the surprise lunch of my lifetime. I was not expecting much. I was not expecting something worthy of a review even. These are some of the greatest lunches ever when you find a spot like this and were expecting nothing. Kudos to The River Downtown. Once you throw in tax and tip, you're looking at over $10 for a half glass of wine. Walking out, I was talking to one of the neighbors here and asked if he had been. He said that it seemed a bit pricey for him and that he'd rather have a glass at home. I did see the table next to us order a carrot dish that looked quite interesting. I think this place would be great for a date night rather than a casual night out for instance or if you're just tired of sitting at home solo drinking lol.

I came because, fortunately, I had a $12.00 birthday reward (powered by Toast Local) that was applied to the bill at the end. On the menu, I noticed that there was a lunch special called "Menu Del Almuerzo" that included a soup, an entree, and a dessert, priced at $24.00. For the entree, I requested the seafood stew. I must say that the soup and entree were both deliciously satisfying. The scoop of vanilla ice cream served at the end was a nice ending to the meal. As far as a beverage, I got the Nitty's Cider. It was a decent hard cider drink to enjoy. The server during my dining experience was Yolanda. I was appreciative of her hospitality, as it was beyond amiable and attentive. The service totally enhanced my visit. The restaurant had a lovely, inviting ambiance. It was a colorful, vibrant atmosphere met with amazing Spanish music playing. Overall, the entire experience was extremely positive from the food to the service. I highly recommend stopping by.

Very tasty. 45 minutes later we ask a busboy to check on our food. Our waiter was nowhere to be seen during this entire time. He never checked on us. After asking literally several minutes later our waiter appears and says two minutes for your food to get here. No apologies no offer to provide bread or something to help just two minutes. Well let's just say it wasn't two minutes. Many more minutes one of our dishes arrives. One of us tells him the service has been very slow and he walks off in a huff. Our other three dishes arrive in a couple more minutes. Only reason for two stars is the food is tasty. Super disappointed the Octopus and scallop dishes are super small. Two scallops and the skimpy octopus pieces were very disappointing for the prices. But they were good flavors. We can appreciate things happen they were busy when we arrived but the restaurant cleared out and it is obvious our meals were forgotten. To make zero attempt to say anything or apologize or offer anything is not professional. It appeared to us the waiter just does not care. He sent another very nice waitress to check on us after we were done and he disappeared once again. Will not ever be back!

When we arrived, the restaurant was lively and buzzing with energy. We were promptly seated at our table and began looking over the menu. To start, I ordered a mocktail while my two girlfriends ordered cocktails. We decided that we were just going to order a variety of tapas and share them, which is exactly why I picked this restaurant. All in all, we ended up ordering the croquettes, the garlic shrimp, the empanadas of the day (which were potato and cheese), the patatas bravas, and a pork dish that I don't remember the name. Eat and every dish was absolutely delicious and bursting with flavor. So if you find yourself in the mood for some tapas and want a wonderful, lively atmosphere, come check out Tapa the World.

Our servers George and Tim were super helpful in explaining the menu and making recommendations for our first meal there. We chose a few of the small appetizer plates they recommended including the krispy rice, sake avocados crudo, and their seasonal corn fritters (not pictured because we were too hungry). They have a great grill menu with a wide variety of skewers to choose from. We were a tad overwhelmed by all the choices, so we played it safe and ordered the beginner set. We loved everything we tried in the set. The flavors are incredible, and I've never eaten anything quite like it. We'll definitely be back, but it will have to be more of an occasional thing than a regular thing as it is on the pricey side. The food is worth it though. You also get great service from knowledgeable and experienced staff, so that's certainly a perk as well!

This was our first visit, and we'll definitely be back!…read more Our server was fantastic. She was really helpful.  We started with the experienced **Skewer Combo**, which was a great way to try a variety of skewers. The cartilage was surprisingly one of my favorites--excellent. The liver wasn't for me, but I'm still glad I tried it. We also ordered the ribeye skewer, which was good and fun to experience, though probably not something I'd order again. The fried rice was excellent, and the duck skewers were hands-down our favorite dish of the meal. They were absolutely delicious and a must-order. We also tried the pork chop, which was cooked well but was a little lacking in flavor compared to everything else. To top it off, we did the sake tasting, which was such a fun experience and a great way to try something new. Overall, it was a unique lunch with great service, delicious food, and a fun atmosphere. Looking forward to coming back and trying more of the menu!
