Food was good. We got the special ham and hot honey pizza and added pepperoni to it. I liked it. Thought for fresh ingredients, canned pineapple was odd. Maybe it's not in season? ‍ I thought it was just ok. What we didn't care for was the service, or lack there of. Not overly friendly when taking our order which is whatever. But the guy walked off before we finished paying for it so we had to reach over the counter to grab our receipt (tax write offs). The guy then went on his lunch break. The chefs finished our pizza and put it on the counter to be served. It sat there for 12 minutes until the staff member returned from his lunch break. He delivered our pizza for us. So if he just started his lunch break right before the pizza came out, how long would we have waited? No bye or thanks for coming in... kind of disappointed because I love supporting the smaller businesses as a business owner myself! Ambiance was pleasant. I've been coming here since Husick's was the BBQ joint, and it was one of the best, if not the best BBQ I've had. Finally made it in after they changed ownership and made it a pizza joint. This is a great place to stop for a snack toodling down the garden hwy on a beautiful Saturday or Sunday afternoon. Yummy homemade hummus w/fresh carrots, celery and crunchy pita bread. Great place to grab your next meal. Restaurant quickly filled up within hour of opening on Sunday. We were greeted with a warm and inviting welcome. Service was great. Food was very fresh and was advised the waiting time for a rack of ribs is 30 mins. We were offered the option of everything out at the same time with the ribs, or everything else first. We came hungry, so opted for everything else first and food came out fairly quick. Our table especially loved the greens, cornbread and salad. No bitter in the greens and a tinge of vinegary flavor. The ribs tasted great and fell off the bone. Delicious BBQ sauces on the side in squirt bottles. Great selection of beer and wine to choose from. Family friendly atmosphere. Went with a friend after going to Old Sugar Mill. This place is so cute. The ladies working the day we went were so friendly! The decor was so fun to look at (lots of photo ops). The food was delicious. We had ribs and a turkey sandwich, with sides of pickles, coleslaw, cornbread, and mac and cheese. My friend and I did a little photo shoot with some of the decor. For being under new management this place is doing GREAT! They have changed the pizza dough recipe recently and I think it's phenomenal. I came when it was BBQ and it was... subpar... but I think pizza is a great option to have out by the river! The staff is friendly and attentive. My friend ordered the tri tip. I got a piece and it was VERY tender and yummy as well. These plates come with homemade fluffy melt in your mouth cornbread and pickles. We ordered the bacon Mac-N-Cheese and beans as extra sides to share. The Mac-N-Cheese was ok. Only found one little crumble of bacon. It was room temperature so not creamy or anything like that. The beans were ok as well. They have different choices of bbq sauces on the table. The spicier one was not hot for me. I would say it was flavorful. Husicks is amazing!! My friend and I stopped here the other day after a great day in the sun. He wanted a beer and I wanted some good grub, and Husicks seemed like a perfect fit! I ordered the cubano, and him the tri tip and Mac sandwich with a blonde ale. I didn't even take a picture of my sand which because I gobbled it down so quickly! My friend was a huge fan of his sandwich. The owner Josh came out and said hello, and asked if I liked spice. He offered me some house made habanero mango sauce that was so freaking delicious. The heat was there but it was a slow come on, so you actually got to enjoy the flavor! I couldn't pass up on some dessert either, so I got the bourbon maple bread pudding. Perfectly sweet and rich. Husicks is also making sure to follow COVID guidelines. Masks are required while inside, and sanitizer is offered. The workers also sanitize between customers and they have touch-less payments. Called this place to make sure they were open and they are! Please be sure to go on their website to see the new hours and options available. I had been craving for some good Bar b que and for some reason couldn't think of a place to go that was near by Elk Grove. As a matter of fact, I have yet to find a legit local small business place in Elk Grove that does bbq. I finally remembered this place. It's located in Clarksburg which isn't that far from EG. I was so thrilled! Called and they qualified me and let me know they were open until 6 and added some additional options on their website. We decided to go with the family pack. Though I don't think this could actually feed a family of four I'd say it's enough for two people when it comes to meat portions. Sides are for sure enough for a family of four. This family pack for $40 includes 1lb of meat and two choices of sides along with a side of coleslaw, and four Hawaiian rolls or two pieces of cornbread(we opted for the cornbread) it's actually enough for four and it's soooo delicious. You're however able to add additional meat if you'd like for an additional $16. Since it was just the two of us and a toddler we stayed with the portion given. We decided to do the St. Louis ribs so it's about half a rack 6 bones(full or delicious and perfectly cooked awesomeness!) the Mac and cheese with bacon, and their potato salad since they were out of the loaded mashed potatoes. This was plenty of food and worth the money since it's A+ quality bbq! The staff is always amazing, mad shout out to Josh, we had phone complications on their end and he was polite every time trying to hear up while there was interference on their side lol. Husband picked up food, obviously to go and said they seemed very appreciative of us purchasing our dinner and thanked up. We love you Husicks! Keep up the amazing bbq! read more

This place is great! I ran into the owner a couple of times when I was at The Cabin in Sacramento and he mentioned that he had a tap house in Clarksburg. This was just before COVID smacked us all down so it took me WAY too long to make it out here, but I'm so glad I did. We ordered the Cubano and the Sampler Plate and everything was incredible and the service was great. In addition, the beer selection was solid and it was nice to kick back on their large patio to take it all in and enjoy the beautiful weather. I also noticed a case of Golden Monkey on the floor by the cooker, so I'll definitely be coming back once that has a chance to get nice and cold! read more

Well, I've heard a lot about this place and finally made it in. Well location is nice it's right by the river. Parking is a little difficult but we made it work. So, you order inside at the counter and they give you a number and bring your food out to you. We ordered the meat sampler plate and the tri- tip plate, with a side of mac and cheese. Food was brought out, the tri-tip plate was brought out on a paper plate, with some pickles and a piece of cornbread. There wasn't any sauce on the meat or much flavor, and was cold. I literally feel like everything was pulled from the fridge and slightly warmed, not hot or fresh. The 3 meat plate was just eh as well, it said it had hotlinks, tri- tip, and 3 ribs. It was just okay. It came with slaw and cornbread, which the slaw wasn't amazing. The bacon mac and cheese, needs a little help. Besides it wasn't hot it wasn't good. It tasted like a lot of Velveeta, and even looked a little odd. I doubt I'll be back here. read more

At Husick's Tap House it's all about the Tri Tip... I ordered the Tri Tip sandwich, which came with a generous amount of thick cuts of tri tip beef. The table server delivered 3 varieties of barbeque sauce with my sandwich. Each sauce was different and all were delicious. My favorite was the sauce with the spicy essence. According to my table server Husicks mixes their seasoning and hand rubs each trip tip then puts them on the smokers in the early morning where it is slow cooked for several hours. This meat is so tender I was able to pull it apart with a fork and each mouth-watering piece seemed to melt in my mouth. My taste buds were most definitely happy. In a careless carbohydrate loving frenzy, I ordered the baked beans and the mac-and-cheese. Both of these sides were served in little styrofoam cups...cafeteria style. I was a little bit disappointed at first but quickly discovered that both of these sides were tasty accompaniments to my tri tip sandwich. With that said, don't let this this turn you off. The baked beans have a sweet yet smoky flavor and the mac and cheese is thick and creamy and made with large elbow pasta....old school style. You wont be disappointed...just sayin. The ambience... Husicks has a rustic and charming ambience. Historically this building was at one time the town general store. The owners have done a great job in maintaining its original integrity and you will notice the well worn floors are original plank wood and the bar and cash register are also vintage. There are a couple of small tables and several shelves to the left of the main dining room, which display cookbooks, pottery as well as wood and iron work pieces made by local artisans from the Delta. Outside there are several chimeneas, and a few gorgeous outdoor fire pits displayed on the wrap around planked porch. Bistro tables and chairs are also available for guests who wish to dine alfresco and enjoy the peaceful scene. What a great location right across the road from the river! Honestly, with new owners, I went in with zero expectations but they won me over. My picky eater husband and I were so very pleasantly surprised with the food and the service. The food came quickly after ordering. The pizza is a very generous size that is said to feed two but would feed three, maybe four hungry people. The toppings are varied, delicious and generous. The salad was fresh and perfectly dressed with just enough dressing. We aren't beer drinkers but tried a glass this time. They offer a wide variety of local beers, ales and ciders. The interior is clean and fresh. It has been lightened up from the previous dark feeling. We will definitely be back for more! read more

Tender, but with a good bite still, and smoke ring all the way down to the bone! I liked the dry rub and the bbq sauce on the ribs. But again I felt it was a little overpriced at $17.50. I had to add some sides, I wasn't trying to leave hungry! That's what racked up the bill. I order a half pint of the baked beans, coleslaw, and cheesy mac. Beans were a little on the hard side, and needed to be cooked a little longer but had a great taste. Slaw was on point! This I enjoyed, because the cabbage was extremely fresh and crunchy and the balance of sweet and savory was perfect. The cheesy mac was skippable, mostly because I was expecting it to come out of a ramekin, with a crusty cheesy top. And it was just mush. I'm good with cold sides served out of plastic containers, but was disappointed in the hot items served in one-time-use plastic containers. Honestly, I think Husicks gets away with overpriced small portions because of the lack of competition being out in the Clarksburg cuts! I get it, a lot of the winos will stop by on their way in/out of the wineries and need to get a bite somewhere. Ultimately this place is cute, a small change up from the mundane. If you are spending the day wine-tasting in the delta, your choices include the food trucks that park at some wineries (like the Old Sugar Mill) , the Dinky Diner (inexplicably closed today), and this Taphouse. Our group ordered the tri-tip sandwich, the hummus plate, and the Carksburg sandwich (turkey and cheese panini). The turkey and cheese panini here was good, but very, very salty. Per my dining companions, the tri-tip was good, but overly salted. If you are okay with heavily-salted food, this place is one you'll like, I'd imagine. I managed to finished my lunch, because the bread, meat, and cheese were all good, but reducing the sodium would have definitely increased my enjoyment of the meal. I've noticed that some of the popular chain restaurants (for example, Macaroni Grill, Olive Garden, or Applebee's) will salt their entrees ~heavily~.
