I discovered this gem 2 years ago from my older brother. This place is awesome because there is a lot more parking, more room that you are not cramped, no time limit where they rush you, a call button service comes in handy and fast service. Even when waiting because all the tables were taken they didn't rush people. And they don't give u a fake because you don't speak korean asking for more sides. The food options are great for the price. Could only finish 6 out of 10 listed. Worth the money. They give u A LOT of rice paper then most places. Stopped by to try it because it was still open late at night. After a long road trip it was such a welcome relief. Service was excellent, food was very generous to the point we had to start asking for half portions so that we could try a variety of dishes. Side dishes were plentiful and tasty. I usually find Korean bbq a bit overrated since you can just make it at home, but I was really impressed with Hwang's restaraunt. It's a small location, but the food here is really good; its got a lot of flavor and comes in good portions. The beef here is really juicy and tender, something you don't get at every restauraunt. The service is also great too, they're very polite and bring out the food in no time! EXCELLENT SERVICE - they bring your table WHOLE PITCHERS of iced tea and water, no waiting for refills. this alone should tell you about the quality of this restaurant. they want you to enjoy yourself while you are there! hands down, the best service i have received at any korean bbq. 2. This Kbbq spot is better than the ones I've been to in my area (San Fernando Valley). We came in on a Thursday night around 7pm and the main dining area was empty, but the "private" rooms were full. It didn't take long after our arrival that people started coming in. Our servers were great @ accommodating our group of nine. Had no problems when asking for extra sides, meats, and beverages. I would deduct half a star for the flies that made it inside the restaurant. Our visiting relatives from Japan were stuffed. So, overall experience was great. read more

I came here looking for a better Korean BBQ and it was okay. It's nothing new from the local ones. The meat was okay I prefer the beef brisket over the Chicken. The parking is okay on not so busy days. It doesn't get that packed in late nights. Customer service was good no complain there. read more

This place is legit! I've traveled to Korea many times and this is the first place I have found in Southern California that is equivalent to Seoul. Stuck on the 405, checked Yelp, this was close & had good reviews. The worst AYCE KBBQ I've had. There were at least 3-5 flies buzzing around our table the entire time. There weren't many sides & they were not fresh. Two in particular were exceptionally bad: the fish cake was soggy & the kimchi was really old - old enough that it really should only be used for kimchi soup. Most of the lettuce in the salad was browning. They gave us a ton of meat, so that was nice. We tried the bulgolgi, pork belly, & sliced brisket. The pork belly had no flavor, it just tasted like grease. The bulgogi was horrible quality & wasn't seasoned at all. I didn't try the brisket, but my boyfriend didn't like it at all. The service wasn't horrible, but it wasn't great. The ladies were all very sweet, but only came by if we flagged them down. Maybe they were having an off day? So sad! Loved this place but I will not stand for bad service. Came in with my family for dinner. Got sat right away which was great but then it went bad. We've been here many times and we know what to expect. I sometimes feel bad for the servers because they are almost always short staffed so I am partially sympathetic. Here's what I don't like. Don't seat me and my family, take my order (ayce simple), then just ignore us the rest of the time as we sit and watch 2 other parties walk in after us and get all their sides and meat before us. Then the waitress starts to bring us our meat but realized we haven't even got a grill yet! And we still never got our sides yet. I've never walk out of a restaurant before being served but I was getting more and more angry as I sat there and watched the two other parties get their food. What sucks for them was that this was the restaurant we always went to for Korean BBQ. But we found another spot right down the street and the food was great and with more choices on the AYCE menu. And they treated us like customers. And that should be priority for any restaurant. So not only did they miss out on our business tonight, but they just lost out on some loyal customers for future business as well. read more

Had to come here because nothing else was open this late. Sigh...why did I not read my good friends review and go elsewhere. Don't get me wrong, its not the worst Korean BBQ I've ever had, but at $20 a person, it's not worth the price. The sides are mediocre at best, the rice is extremely hard to get refilled (as are most the sides), and the servers only check on you if you ring the bell. So sad, we were the only table in here. I don't have the patience to write more of a telling review. Come for lunch if you must eat here, but for dinner try one of the many other options near by. read more

Affordable and yummy! They had a huge selection of AYCE bbq meats. My favorite is the beef tongue and brisket. The bulgogi (marinated sliced beef) was a favorite for my toddler. The little one also loved the chap chae and the broccoli and bean sprout side dishes. The kalbi serving was quite large for 3 adults and 1 child. The cut of meat was pretty thick, so we couldn't finish it all. I think we should have just asked for a half serving. Our server was polite and prompt. Parking here is plentiful too! After going to furusatos for some cheap local kbbq the past few times I decided to try this place. Its a little more expensive but hwangs is very good. I wouldn't put it on the same level as gen but it is solid. The sides here are better than most places and that can be attributed to the pancakes they have. The brisket and spicy pork were very good. My main complaint would he the price which is not the worst ever and the lack of space on the tables. I would be down to come back here though. read more

I can start off by saying this place is not comparable in neither quality or choice of meats they offer for their AYCE. You can go to Koreatown or even the OC to get way better quality of meats, service as well as a variety of meat options. For their AYCE which comes out to about $20/person I don't think its worth the meats you get.
