Pros - beautiful newly renovated hotel that feels very upscale - lifeguards at the pool - two water slides and a hot tub - very family friendly pool (graded depth which has a little splash pad feel for littles) - huge TV to watch games or in our case, Olympics - padded pool loungers are so comfy - the Regency Club team works SO HARD to clean tables and get people situated - really enjoyed the offering for breakfast and dinner (a lot of Asian options since this hotel caters to a Korean audience) - bring bikes or scooters -- we had so much fun cruising around and found a great trail. The hotel is in a beautiful industrial park area and it's virtually empty at night. Lots of smooth, flat paths. Easy to get to grocery store or other restaurants. Cons - stingy with upgrades and I thought their manager on duty was not super kind (and I'm trying to not be an entitled Globalist, but maybe I am) - the pool and Club can feel be very packed (we were here for 6 nights and 2/6 was busy) and if it were our entire experience, I would be disappointed - pool view rooms (or more, maybe) also got to hear what appears to be night time racing along Jamboree (not hotel's fault, just FYI) - key issues seem common, not a big deal until it happens 4x in a day Solid 4 stars. I attended a wedding at Irvine Hyatt Regency. I was staying there for one night only. I got to the room after midnight, as soon as I got in bed, I noticed that the bed was sinking in. Wow the HRI is really upping their game! This new hotel located in Irvine is a stunning business oriented hotel. They have beautiful high tech convention break out rooms and a huge ball room with cutting edge AV support. There is also a brand new cafe and informal meeting/work area that features sound proof meeting booths. The food is excellent and so is the coffee. Also excellent is cafe manager Andrei. He is super friendly and helpful. Special orders are no problem. Andrei went out of his way to make sure our breakfast was perfectly delicious. A standout feature of the HRI is the staff. Managers Daniel and Cindy are outstanding. They are warm, welcoming and hyper helpful. They are proud of their new hotel and go out of their way for business travelers and globalists. They found us a stunning suite that met all our business needs. If you have a business event or are looking for a comfortable get away, the HRI should be your first choice in Orange County. Exceptional stay during Presidents' Day weekend! The hotel was at capacity but it didn't feel like it. The valet guys did an excellent job and were very courteous. The hotel was spotless, smelled fresh(which is huge to me) and the staff were very friendly! Modern decor with lots of lounging areas. The Regency club had a delicious spread for breakfast and dinner, there was a short wait during busy hours but we never waited more than 15 mins. The rooms were clean and modern. I booked the Hyatt regency Irvine based on the photos and amenities stated for a Julius balcony king room. Upon entering the room we were shocked to see there were no closet and only two small drawers underneath the chair below the television. Further there is no desk (as this is a business hotel ) with omit a small round table and 1 chair. Yes you did not hear wrong. Only 1 chair. The balcony was a joke as well. The complimentary coffee machine did not have coffee k cups but only tea. The bathroom had no hooks to hang clothing. If you're going to host a company event here. Don't. Their location seems good, but the valet situation is honestly one of the worst ever. Sugar on top, I was one of the first people to give their ticket to retrieve their car, it took them over 3 hours to finally get me my car (and I was one of the last ones out). I seriously think they were just pulling out the easiest cars to get out of the lot and driving them up, because there were cars sitting at the entrance for 1-2 hours before someone would pick it up. It got so congested with parked cars and other cars trying to get in. And I fully believe that accident is due to how poorly managed their service is. Solid stay. A good value relative to the options on Harbor Blvd. on a recent two-day trip to the "Happiest" Place on Earth. The room is clean and new. Nice attention to details. Small charging station/night stand. Small tray for your keys and change near the entry mirror. The hotel is still under construction in January 2024, so pardon their dust. The pop-up mart is pricey but well-curated. Grabbed a Groundwork nitro cold brew in the am and a small bottle of wine to go with pick up food from Il Fornaio and Ruth's Chris down the street for dinner in the room. The parking fee of $40/day is super annoying. It's the suburbs, not Manhattan or Downtown LA. There is a huge lot that had 40 cars max, on a weekend. Check in with Miriam was a breeze. read more

By far the worst Hyatt location we've ever stayed. My husband and I are Hyatt explorist and have stayed at least 30 different Hyatts around So Cal (staycation) and across the US (for travel and business). We were very disappointed in our stay for the following reasons: 1. No microwave. This is the first Hyatt location that does not offer a microwave to guests. Of all the Hyatts we've visited, a microwave has always been brought to our room upon request. No this Hyatt. If you're a family trying to heat up your baby's milk or food at 2am or 5am, you're out of luck. You have to go all the way downstairs to the "market" to use the microwave. Very inconvenient if you have a crying hungry baby who needs milk right away. 2. After a long day we settled in and tried to nap at 5:30pm before going out for dinner. We were unfortunately interrupted by aggressive knocks on our door from housekeeping. We didn't call housekeeping and had the "do not interrupt" door sign hanging. Yet housekeeping kept knocking on our door! Total lack for consideration for guests. 3. Of all the Hyatts we've stayed at, parking has always been validated because we're Hyatt Explorist. Every. Single. Hyatt. Location. Not this location. 4. I would say 80% of the time we've been offered a room upgrade for being Hyatt Explorists. Not this location. I understand if they're mostly booked and don't have rooms for upgrades and the place was EMPTY during our stay. The parking lot was almost empty except a few cars. Sadly they placed us on a low floor and view of the AC. 5. The motion sensor lights under the beds. If you want to good night's rest, good luck. ANY movement will turn those lights on and wake you up. We had to shield the sensors to avoid them from going off. You would think Hyatt Irvine would be better cause "Irvine". No, the worst Hyatt location we've ever stayed. Avoid this location and drive 10 minutes south to Hyatt Newport or 20 minutes north to Hyatt Anaheim Disney for a better experience and stay. read more

We had a great 2 night stay here as we came to visit family in the OC area. I redeemed some Chase points for the stay (around 25k ish total), so the total cost was only for the parking ($40 per night). We arrived pretty late in the evening and the hotel staff upgraded us for no cost. The room was very nice, very quiet, and very clean. The location of this hotel is very good if your trip is focused in the Irvine or Santa Ana area. We'll definitely stay again if given the opportunity to be in the area! read more

Ok...let me start by saying I will be back! I did however have some not so great experiences. Room number 1 (266), the room was perfect except there was no hot water running from the sink. The next day, the faucet on the left just stopped working...that should be an easy fix. room number 2 (508), I don't know if someone died in that room, or work at the hotel and died....but I had nightmares all night!! I woke up feeling like I was being strangled. I tried yelling out, but I couldn't make any noise. When I actually opened my eyes I saw a man standing at the foot of the bed by the right corner looking right at me. He looked to be leaning on the wall a bit. He was short, dark hair with a wave to it...he was wearing what look like a bellhop uniform that was maroon with gold detail. When I turned on the light next to the bed, he was gone. Not sure what to make of this, I hope never to get this room again...there's bad juju in there. read more

There were roaches in the bed, uncleaned sheets, a broken light, no closet, a very small bathroom, stains on the walls, $7 for one water bottle, uncleaned room, and terrible a/c. YIKES! We strictly came with resort pass to swim in their pool. It's highly boasted and in a great area. Parking was nice $29 for 2hrs ours was comped. They do have valet. Excellent market great liquor! Here's the bad. The pool was a cesspool!!!! DISGUSTING!!! Over ran with poorly behaved children. You couldn't even get in the pool. Children running, screaming, and crying! Poop covered slides that closed and were cleaning. We waited 2hrs for the kids to leave or chill out, never happened. Finally got in the pool and had children jumping over our heads. Soaking us with water guns and screaming. We finally said screw it let's go after we found a diaper sitting at the bottom of the pool. NEVER AGAIN!!!! Hire a pool attendant, get a lifeguard anything. These parents didn't help extra enforcement would make this place actually enjoyable. An unforgivable experience and a complete waste of money and time. read more

We purchased resort passes for 9/1. The experience was nothing like it was described on resort pass. They way oversold the pool and it was beyond capacity with 80+ children. It looked like a water slide park packed into one small pool. Kids in diapers in both pool and spa. No lounge chairs available and complete chaos. No wait staff and towels were small and faded. Maid walked in on me naked, stared at my genitals laughed and said sorry after standing still for a few moments of staring. She closed the door and asked if I needed cleaning and I said sure one second, and then gave me just only a few seconds to change then started cleaning my room while I was naked in the bathroom right as she was walking by. She realized I was uncomfortable of the situation when she left then later on the cops showed up to my room and they arrested me for public indecency. Be careful of this hotel and privacy. After attending a charity event for which parking validation was provided to all guests, it took 30 minutes to exit the parking lot. After calling the front desk twice within 7 minutes after the car had only travelled about 10 feet, they still would not leave the gates open for everyone to leave. They did send extra valet personnel to exit one car at time but utterly classless. If you care about your guests, do not ever hold an event here. read more

Having lived in Irvine for 20+ years, I was sad when Hyatt changed to Hotel Irvine, but was super stoked the other day when I noticed Hyatt Regency was coming back to its old location while I was casually looking at my WOH app , looking for places to use my soon expiring stay award. Even though we live nearby, we've decided to check it out last weekend. It was evident that the renovation is still ongoing, so some areas inside/outside of the property were closed off. Not surprisingly there were barely any guests so it was like a ghost town. It was slightly odd as we didn't see a single other guest during our stay but it was somewhat enjoyable at the same time. Front desk staff was very welcoming though and got us our globalist upgrade. Lobby was spacious and new, furnished with some nice lounge pieces. Room interior was pretty upscale with expensive minimalist furnitures and interesting accent wallpaper. I really liked that they went with LVP floor instead of carpet. The room being next to 405 freeway a bit noisy as the sliding door didn't have very tight seal. Because they didn't have a club lounge or bar/restaurant at the property yet, we only had a pop-up market option to use our breakfast credit. Food wasn't bad but it was definitely not great. I would have to revisit this review in a year or two as the property is pretty incomplete as of now. If you are on a business stay, this hotel is just fine. read more

Nice hotel in a really good location. Got an upgrade to a one bedroom suite (on a low floor) for my Globalist status. Solid daily breakfast at their grab and go restaurant.
