Horrible experience! Took our brand new 2025 Santa Fe in for the first time "free" service. Technician proceeds to tell us we are missing a wheel lock AFTER rotating my tires. Well I have pictures where the wheel lock was there and no one has done any work but you! The rude lady handling service phone calls then proceeds to say, "well what are you I implying, we stole it?" Then proceeds to berate that it could have fallen off. Next she proceeds to email me a blurry picture that cuts off half of the wheel as "proof." Fine, order a new one. Well that's 65 dollars. While I miss Niko's shop (S & R Service Center in Vista- he's very fair), I have a new car that's under a warranty. I needed to have basic maintenance done on my vehicle (15k checkup, oil change, tire rotation, software update, etc). Much better experience coming here than I had at the Carlsbad location- this one is spacious! In Carlsbad, they line up cars everywhere, making it difficult to drive through when your appointment is done. Not to mention, there were no appointments available thru August there anyway... I made my appointment online for a week out and got the confirmation via text. I didn't realize that it's actually a check-in time or I would have made one for an earlier time slot. However, it was not busy and they took me immediately anyway! I appreciate that everyone was so friendly and straightforward here. Overall, I am very happy to utilize this location for service. (If I need an actual repair, well, my fiancé is a mechanic... this place only has service technicians. And honestly, he can do my oil changes himself.) Dealership sold us a used vehicle with a "clean car fax" in Oct 2021, however, when it came down to trading this vehicle in recently, turns out that it was in an accident in April 2021 and was not disclosed to us. This is severely hindering the value of the vehicle now when trying to trade it in. We have tried calling the dealership several times to speak to a manager/general manager and our calls are being "dropped" and a manager is not calling us back. This dealership has conducted shady business and misinformed us and appears to be trying to avoid speaking to us in regards to our situation. Since sometime in 2022, I've been interested in the Hyundai Santa Cruz SEL Premium. Honestly, my only experience with a Hyundai was back in 1988 when my parents bought me a Hyundai Excel. That iteration soured me on Hyundais because that was the time Hyundai had a major recall with their engines catching on fire and I was a victim of that recall. Thank God Hyundai has evolved, they make quality vehicles, and through my quality shopping experience at Hyundai Escondido, I'm a proud owner of a 2023 Hyundai Santa Cruz SEL Premium. Hyundai Escondido is conveniently located on the north end of Escondido. It can be easily visited by taking the 78 East freeway, driving straight past one stop light, and making a right on Garrick Way. I really liked how easy it was to get to the parking lot of Hyundai Escondido. Hyundai Escondido is next to Toyota Escondido and both are off the 78 East freeway. There is plenty of parking for customer vehicles and they have a large lot for new and used vehicles. When you enter the sales floor area, you quickly can tell that Hyundai Escondido focuses on customer service with friendly and attentive employees; cleanliness on the sales floor, offices, and restrooms; and a spacious waiting area with complimentary bottled water, coffee, and several televisions that I was able to catch some NFL games on Saturday and Sunday. Frankly, I'm not a fan of the car bargaining process because it can be stressful and I don't enjoy going back and forth with the sales employees. Hyundai Escondido made my car buying experience pleasant, smooth, and I felt valued as a customer. As I stated, I had been shopping for the Hyundai Santa Cruz since 2022. Back in 2022, Jose Hernandez was the first salesman that I dealt with and through him periodically checking on me throughout 2022, he was the main reason I decided to see if I could make a deal and finally purchase the vehicle I really wanted. Jose was always professional, friendly, and really knew his stuff about the Hyundai Santa Cruz. I had a great test drive with him back in 2022. When I visited on Saturday Jan. 21st, 2023, Jose had the weekend off, so I was assisted by Jose's colleague Abraham Flores. Abraham displayed the same customer service oriented qualities as Jose and he helped me through the car buying process. Abraham's manager Abraham Baljian made the negotiation process smooth and not as stressful. Abraham B. was fair and helped close the deal on me becoming a Hyundai Santa Cruz owner. My brand new car with 4000 miles on it had a warranty issue. It was repaired. When I went to pick it up the guy brought it to me I asked if they wash cars there. He said wash station is down currently. I said they wash the cars at Carlsbad dealer. He told me and I quote" go to Carlsbad then and see how long you have to wait for an appointment." And I asked this is how you treat your customers? And told him I'm writing a review. He said go ahead I don't care! As I was leaving he came outside and said the car wash station was working again. Hours passed and ZERO contact! I tried texting to check on the status........nothing. so we decided since it was close to closing we would just go and park and hang out. (It was on our way home) We parked, I called. Had to leave a voice-mail. Waited about 30 mins and called again........the woman answered and when I told her the situation she told me "Well, if you want to talk to him you can come in and talk to him. He's right here at his desk." Really? Okay. So my husband went in and talked to him. Kyle argued with my husband that he had texted me several times and said "It's right here in front me on my screen. I've texted her multiple times." But didn't show him. My husband came out upset STILL with no updates. There was only about 30 mins before they were supposed to close. They finally brought out my car (I saw it) and THEN I got a call saying it was done. So we both went in and Kyle greeted me laughing and said I just realized I was texting the wrong number. No apology to myself OR my husband. Instead just continued to argue and tell my husband he "didn't like the way he was coming at me." I took my car and my husband asked for KYLE'S boss's card and we left. A month or so later I went to fill my windshield washer fluid and my hood release lever in my car was broken. Completely loose and I could not get it open! Makes me wonder if THAT'S why they kept my car until the last minute and made ZERO effort at communicating with me ALL day! We have tried emailing the Service General manager with NO success. The communication there SUCKS! We will never go back even for sales thanks to this terrible experience. UPDATE: took my car in to the Poway service location and it was NIGHT & DAY!! From the time my car got there until the time it was done and I came in to pick it up, I NEVER felt like I was not their number 1 priority. I had consistent communication through the entire two days they had it. Jason was EXCELLENT! I didn't have a choice to give a zero star.. so I gave a one star. ladies, please DO NOT take your vehicles here. I took it there for a ten point check because I received a coupon in the mail. Then when I picked it up, they charged me for an alignment of tires. My tires were off by 0.01% so instead of asking me about it, they just did it. They told me the car was good beside the alignment. I take my car home and my car started to act up, the car would start but when I place it in gear, it would not go reverse or drive. I called them and the manager was super rude and not helpful about the charge for alignment that I didn't ask for. She seems like she didn't care and that I was wasting her time. She said since the service guy put it on the invoice and I just signed it, it was my fault. When I got home, I notice the paint missing and the manager left without returning my call about the paint. The second time that I took it back, they told me that the transmission fluid was over flowing.. which didn't make sense because I didn't take it anywhere else. They kept it for almost a week and when I picked it up, they just said I needed a new transmission. This is after the ten point check, when they said everything was good. I never had this car problem before my appointments. Third time, I returned the car back since I had already paid them over 500.00 after a fee in every checkup. My car kept doing the same thing, the gears were not going in. This time they kept it for another week and now the car doesn't run. The car doesn't run more than 30 miles/H.R. Their reason is that I need a new transmission! When they scratched my car and patched it up, I can tell you that a kindergartner could of done a better job. They take pictures of car before you drop it off but they never told me about the missing paint on door. I had to ask about it. The second time, they broke my passenger mirror inside my car. The service guy said it wasn't them! I don't have small kids and no one else drives my car, my mirror was fine when I dropped it off. This place doesn't like to take responsibility for damages and they just don't know what they are doing. Ladies!! Please stay away from this place, they don't know what they are doing, they are not professional, the manager is rude and really does NOT care about people nor about what damages they do to the vehicles. I went here due to a stupid coupon for a ten point check and ended up with missing paint on door, broken mirror, a car that doesn't run and I paid over 500.00 so they can say it's not their fault! Customer service is really bad, service people look miserable and they can't smile. The manager is as bad and she acted like I bothered her. Got my car here over two years ago and have not had a single good experience since the day i drove it off the lot. The first time I came in to get a service done that my warranty covered, they had to order a part and have me come back, totally understandable. The frustrating part is, is that they didn't reach back out until four months later. During the process of finally installing the part, they scratched up my shifter panel. Now, I go in to get something checked out and I had a misunderstanding of what my warranty covered which is completely my bad, but the girl i spoke to looked at and treated me like a total idiot. My parents are elderly They seem to think that they can make good decisions when it comes to purchasing new vehicles as they have always done. but there comes a time when they're no longer able to make those decisions. Hyundai of Escondido helped with the application for my parents to present it to their financing company, leaving them with a payment more than their SSI payment they receive monthly. Their answer to our questions was it that they had good credit regardless of their income. Came to Hyundai Escondido for a test drive of their new 2020 Hyundai Palisade SUV that they consider comparable to a Cadillac Escalade. I had made an appointment several days in advance with John. Arrived at 9 o'clock on a Friday morning and all the customer spots were taken by brand new Hyundai vehicles. This is a really tiny tiny lot on the corner and there really isn't any street parking. So I had to circle around a couple times before I found an empty spot right in front of the service bay. John wasn't there so I was helped by Mark super nice guy and we got to drive a brand new Palisade. OMG this SUV was awesome. It had everything, heated seats, ventilated seats, moonroof, adjustable seats. It even has a dashboard display that project it onto the windshield in front of the driver. This car had everything car had everything. After the test I have a go inside to talk to Mark him I told him I'm not interested in financing I want to pay cash not looking for a loan what can they do for me. He then asked me how much I make once and on my banking information and three references. Again I tell them I am paying cash I'm not financing. What can they do for me on the price. Juan, one of the manager comes over With their price sheet and proceed to add additional $5000 to the sticker price of the car as a delivery charge. Then he tells me that because he's cars are brand new the owner is not making any kind of price adjustments or deals and then I should wait until December. I get not wanting to make any deals on a brand new hot car no problem. But what I don't get is the extra $5000. Also when someone tells you they are paying cash there's no need for them to know how much you make where you bank and three references. Ive bought many cars , I get I need to get income banking and reference information if I was financing or taking out a loan with with the car dealership. However I was very clear and said twice this would be a cash transaction. When I've purchased cards with cash before I have never once been asked how much I make, where I bank, and references. I hadn't read reviews before my visit. I had to come to this dealership because that was the terms of my test drive agreement. Bait and Switch. They said they would sell at or below MSRP and when I got serious, surprise; it has a markup. So I've been looking for an Ioniq 5N for a while now. Put in a request a few weeks ago online and these guys cold me about a month afterwards. They had one in stock and wanted to make a deal. It was the wrong color but I was looking to explore a deal for the right price. told the guy I would only deal at MSRP or lower and since it the wrong color, it would have to be a good deal for me to be interested. Sal said not a problem. they can definitely get it at under MSRP and he will call me back with an out the door price as requested. I get a call 15 min later from his sales manager and all of a sudden the car has a markup. I hung up on them. Complete bait and switch. I checked online and sure enough their website now shows a $10k markup all of sudden. So I did a quick vin search. Car has been on the market for 130 days. It was marked up back in May but reduced back to MSRP the day before they cold called me. I guess they changed their mind. But everywhere the car is advertised, it shows it at MSRP. Typical Bait and switch tactic from scummy dealers. Avoid this dealer. They will say anything to get you in. But once in, they are going to try and rob you blind. I bet they also force you into buying dealer accessories and warranties to markup the price. read more

A month later I received a letter from headquarters discussing the manufacturing issue about the paint and they offered coverage for this issue.
