Oh this place is phenomenal!! We love coming here for bagels and bagel sandwiches. So far I have tried the lox sandwich and the jalapeño cheddar egg sandwich with turkey. Everything is so delicious and whenever I drive by this eatery all I want to do is order everything :) The staff here is friendly and accommodating but can mix up orders from time to time since it gets busy here. I've only been once, but judging by the line out the door and the full dining room, I'm pretty sure that they could move into a location twice as big and still kill it. We were visiting friends in Carlsbad and my friend and I had to stop at Home Depot across the lot from ILB. Back at the house were our wives who we knew would appreciate an Everything Bagel. So after purchasing a new screen door for my buddy's house - our dogs ate his existing door - we stopped at ILB for a couple the Everything Bagels. The line was long, but it went very quickly. Service was friendly and very speedy. Everyone behind the counter was working in perfect harmony, it was a well-oiled machine back there. Two Everything Bagels one garlic and herb cream cheese and one plain cream cheese. The total was about 9 bucks. In the truck the bagels' aroma filled the entire cab for the ride home. Back at the house we presented the bagels to our wives. They (our wives, not the bagels) were both surprised and excited. They both loved their bagels and their respective cream cheeses. As for the screen door, well it didn't fit. Turns out they have a custom door. Our friends promised that our dogs would still be invited back, they're getting a dog-proof screen. I Love Bagels. We were starving after spending the morning at the neighboring hospital, and this place was the top bagel-place in the area. We were pretty stoked, and had some expectations. I would say that their bagels were "pretty good". I was excited to try the Jalapeno Cheese bagel, but there was no Jalapeno in it? It was kinda disappointing. The Asiago one was delicious, but nothing super special. I will say that the Garlic and Herb cream cheese was delicious, and different, and HEAVY on the garlic. The ladies and one young female can never get my order right. They're rude and try to rush you through the line with zero customer service skills. I try to give them the benefit of the doubt, but it happened to me three times in a row. My fault for thinking a place I patronized for years could not correct the problem. Been coming here for several years every time I visit my mom in Ocea Hills. We were just there two days ago. They have outdoor and indoor sitting, and a great assortment of bagels and meats. The owners are super nice as well. I had a toasted plain bagel with tuna, swiss, and mustard, along with potato salad. Always really good. My mom also had the tuna, and my friend had a hotdog in a bun. My little dog had some water We had a great time catching up and eating good food. Was beyond excited to see they have Taylor Ham. Hubs is from NJ, so we were pumped. Unfortunately, the sandwich was a massive let down. First, it came with only 2 slices of Taylor ham...egg was flat and pre cooked in the oven and didn't even look like a real egg, no seasoning and it was drenched with cheese. Didn't taste "bad", but it's not what a pork roll breakfast sandwich should taste like. What they need to do is, put a solid 3-4 slices of Taylor ham with a normal slice of cheese over an egg that has real yolk in it. Serve with SPK (salt pepper ketchup). I know this is a bagel place but it would be nice to serve it on a hard roll so it doesn't fly out the back of the bagel when you take a bite, but that's not an option here so no mark down for that. Overall, I won't be coming back and if you're from NJ/NY, you will 100% be let down. BUT, if they sell the Taylor ham pre packaged, I'd for sure buy it and make my own "Taylor ham egg and cheese, SPK on a hard roll" lol Tried a bagel and schmear as well. Unfortunately wasn't anything to call home about, wasn't bad, just wasn't what I've been dreaming about. I've found that only the pastrami breakfast sandwich is worth getting (I always get the Pastrami with pepper jack on japaleno cheddar.) The highlight is definitely the cream cheese spreads! They have Taylor ham, their vegetable cream cheese is amazing, their bagel has the perfect amount of salt. Did I mention these bagels or boiled them baked?
