    Basil popcorn chicken
    Jenny L.

Very busy. Long lines but fast service. Ordered the avocado smoothie and my sister got the mango sago. Both very good, not overly sweet. Also ordered the basil popcorn chicken. Was good but it came with practically raw garlic and no sauce. Wouldve enjoyed it better with a sauce.

I've been coming to ITea - Aborn Rd for a while now since my BF has showed me this spot back when it was our first date in 2020. And after moving to San Jose 3 years it has truly become one of my comfort spots. Every single time I walk in, I'm taken care of. The staff is kind, efficient and have been pretty friendly every time I come in. My usual is the Jasmine Green Tea with honey and boba, and it never disappoints. The tea is always fresh and fragrant, not bitter, and not watered down like other boba spots. The honey adds that smooth sweetness without overpowering the jasmine, and the boba is consistently soft and chewy. If you're a texture person like me, you know that matters. What I appreciate most is the consistency. In a world where service can feel rushed or impersonal, this location keeps it simple and does it right for me. Clean space, quick service, quality drinks, and some pretty bomb food! I highly suggest their Y22 Beef Don Buri Rice Bowl. My absolute favorite.

I-Tea is a mixed bag for me, and honestly the only tea here worth drinking is the Alishan Jin Xuan. It's a milky oolong by nature, floral and lightly roasted, but the execution here feels off. The tea is extremely light and comes across watered down, especially once milk is added. They also charge extra for milk, which makes it more frustrating since the milk itself isn't very creamy. The mouthfeel ends up thin, and the tea flavor gets lost. The color of the milk tea was basically milk colored, which says a lot. You can barely taste the tea. On the food side, the popcorn chicken was the bright spot. It was fragrant with a good crust and solid seasoning. The pieces were cut a bit too large, and there wasn't enough basil to really elevate it, but it was still enjoyable. Overall, Alishan Jin Xuan is tasty, but it should taste richer and more pronounced. Here, it drinks more like diluted milk tea than a proper milky oolong.

Food is awesome. Service is always five out of five. Ambiance amd vibes are thumps up. Found out they serve my fav unagi bowl for a reasonable price so I've been coming here since. Glad i found this spot. Happy I accidentally came in for my boba fix and found my fav food.

I was doing some shopping around this area and decided to stop by this place to try out their tea. They have a pretty big selection of beverages. They also have snacks and entrees on their menu as well. Upon walking up to the counter, a friendly employee greeted me and took my order. I ordered the Super Fruit Tea with no ice. I wanted zero sugar added. The cashier told me that they can't adjust the sweetness of this beverage, and it must be with 30% sugar. The Super Fruit Tea has apples, oranges, lime, and pineapple in it. This drink had orange seeds in it, which I had to spit them out and it was very inconvenient. It's also a choking hazard. Even though this beverage only contains 30% percent sugar, it was too sweet. I can't imagine how sweet it is if it's 100% sugar.

Tofu and basil popcorn chicken. 10/10!

I know there's an abundance of boba places in San Jose, but I-tea is definitely top tier! Decided to pop in this shop for lunch. The menu was huge. Typically I'm skeptical of places with huge menus like that (quality over quantity mindset) but I was soon to be proven wrong. I ordered the mango lemon breeze from their jasmine series, a basil popcorn chicken, and a tofu dish. The drink was super refreshing, had fresh mango chunks and a big serving of perfectly chewy boba. The drink was definitely 10/10. The chicken was super hot and crispy, definitely fresh from the fryer. They seasoned it really well, and garnished with basil and garlic. Unfortunately, it was a little dry, and could have used a dipping sauce. Overall the chicken was a 8.5/10. This brings us to our final dish, the tofu. It was a more silky tofu, which was harder to skewer, but still tasted delicious. The presentation was beautiful (see below) the mayo, teriyaki, and furikake toppings gave the tofu great flavor and looks. Definitely a 10/10 dish. If I'm ever in the area again, I will definitely be coming back. Some of the best boba/snack options in San Jose.

    Oreo milk tea

This place is pretty good, I got the Oreo drink and my partner got the taro. My drink was delicious, the size was huge and boba was perfect consistency. However, my partner got the taro and it was not good. It was clumpy, flavor tasted like powder and just didn't taste good. We would go back but we would steer clear of the taro drink!

I tried this place years ago and didn't care for it. Decided to give them a try again and this time I enjoyed my drink. I like creamy drinks and fruit tea. This time around the drink was on point the cheese creama consistency was really good. My son really enjoyed the matcha brûlée as well. I-Tea, you won me back.

There is plenty of parking in this area as well as a decent amount of seating inside. The service is good and the staff is friendly. There is also no public restroom here. The takoyaki and their seasoned curly fries were flavorful. Their variety food items are definitely tasty and good quality. The drinks are overall solid. My favorite drink here is the strawberry fruit tea. It's very refreshing and they definitely don't skimp on the toppings. Their milk teas are also enjoyable as well.

If you're looking for thick and I mean thick pieces of popcorn chicken, i-Tea is THE place to be. I have tried many places all over the bay and I seem draw comparisons back to i-Tea. Why? Well for starters, you don't just get overly battered, dry, and skimpy pieces of chicken. The pieces are on the larger side but are juicy and thicker than your average (if you get what I'm saying). And the basil and pieces of garlic add the perfect finish to the popcorn chicken game. Pair this with their seasoned curly fries topped off with Kewpie mayo, Okonomi sauce (which is a savory teriyaki/unagi-type of sauce), Furikake seasoning, and you have yourself a whole meal and then some. Wash this all down with their wide selection of drinks and you're good to go for the day. I usually anchor on the taro milk tea or roasted oolong sea salt kreama with boba! The service is super efficient and fast when it comes to the drinks and while the food is cooked to order, at most, I've waited 10 minutes on a super busy day. Inside, it's fairly spacious with tables to eat at but if you're looking to get in and out, you can also place your order ahead through their app too! I think i-Tea is definitely one of my go-to's for all things snack and boba drink-related. Definitely get it before you regret it!

Best Pop corn chicken! No spicy vs SPICYYY

I like my pop corn chicken spicy, this is the only place that can make it extra spicy, and omg, it's so good! I-tea don't play, they know how to make it extra spicy for you!

RANG Final…read moreThoughts: 4.50/5 Review for Rang. They have weekly matcha pop ups at Rose Tea Lounge. Original location is in Elk Grove, but they are here in San Jose area. Kind of hard to see and find them? given that there aren't really any signs posted outside. I perhaps wouldn't have known about it if my friend didn't tell me about it. Drink: Guava Matcha Einspanner: 4.5/5 This is their matcha with house-made guava puree at the bottom and topped with silky guava foam. Their foam is so nice and creamy. Felt very light and just thick enough. Silky consistency that mixed well with the drink. My friend noted that they make it fairly sweet, so I opted for the 25%. This was still quite sweet for me. Each component is sweet itself, so when you combine it, its mostly just sweet. No tartness to cut any of it. Perhaps the guava has something to do with that. Guava is a sweet fruit in general, so I seemed to expect as much. The matcha itself had a nice color to it. Very vibrant. Light bitterness. Lovely consistency overall. I like each component separately and I like them together when it's fully combined. Strawberry Matcha Einspanner: 4.5/5 This was my friends drink and I also really liked it. Had to try it for my review purposes. Per their Door Dash description, this is their matcha latte with their home-made strawberry puree and topped with velvety strawberry foam. There really wasn't much of a difference with this one and mine besides the fruit. His was slightly more tart than mine, which is something I like. Again, the drink itself leans more on the sweet side, so any sort of tartness would be nice to cut some of that. Matcha color is amazing. Nice and vibrant. Lovely silky consistency. I like the ratio of fruit flavor and matcha. Some places will make it just taste like milk, others have an imbalance of flavors. This one was just right for me. --------- Quality: Ceremonial Matcha and whisked to order We saw them whisk the matcha to order. Not really a display cooking kind of counter, but they do do all of that in the front where the cashiers are. You are able to watch if you so choose. I do like the matcha that they use, so it seems like a high quality one. That or it's because they aren't batching their matcha like other places. I understand that batching doesn't make it lower quality, but something about whisking it fresh is always better. Price: Average Will depend on the drink, but the prices are around $7 to $9. For our drinks, average around $8.25 per drink. Quite a common price range for a cup of matcha. This one was made well, so no complaints here. There was no upcharge for the oatmilk, which is always a plus for us. Service: Whisked matcha fresh No interactions today. We ordered directly on the kiosk and then just waited for our drinks to come out. Something that I like is that they whisk and make the matcha in front of us. Kind of hard to see, given my height and spot that we were standing, but they do whisk it in the front for us. Of note, they use this hand towel or cloth to wipe the bowls. Not sure how sanitation does with that, but I digress. Just an observation for today. Ambiance: Quaint Flower Café Vibes This place is giving very quaint flower café vibes. I would totally work here if I could work from home or if I needed to study. Space is incredibly spacious on the inside contrary to how the outside and plaza area is looking. Little dim lit inside, but that might be from the little lighting that's hitting through the windows given the angle and evening sun. Location/Parking: Small Plaza This place is like a pop-up/collaboration with Rose Tea Lounge. There's really no label for it outside of the storefront, but when you go into the café and on the kiosk, you can directly order from them. Kind of interesting how it works and I probably would have never seen it if my friend didn't bring me here. Location is not the best as it is right in a smaller plaza on the side of Story Road near the 101 freeway. At least they chose an area that is slightly less saturated. Vietnam Town is really close by and they really do have too much going on over there sometimes. Parking lot is also small, but it seems to work well with the smaller plaza size.
