Man, I use to dislike i-Tea to the max. I use to live in SF and i-Tea opened near Irving St. and I thought, "Wow, new boba! Let's try it". I hated my experience there. I also tried it in Fremont locations. I really was for sure thinking, "Wow, this chain sucks!". Until this one came around! I have never seen an i-Tea with this type of menu. Based on this experience, it might not be a great idea to come here for some peace and quiet studying time :') Roasted Oolong Milk Tea: 3/5 I was a bit disappointed with this drink because I think the milk to tea ratio is off--too much milk and not enough tea for my liking. And I also didn't really get that "roasted" taste to the tea, either. Their boba is pretty good though; "not bland" is all I'm looking for. Japanese Egg tofu: 5/5 I really like this!! I've never had anything like this before! It's pretty much tofu with the takoyaki toppings i.e. takoyaki sauce, kewpie mayo, seaweed. Popcorn chicken is bussin', but it is a bit expensive at $8. The chicken has a nice crispy skin and you can tell they use high quality meat when you bite into it. I've always enjoyed the variety i-Tea offers. Their popcorn chicken is pretty good but their short rib baos are out of control. It's pretty much short rib meat in a steam bun that's been fried. You can get one for $3.25 or two for $6. It had great texture to the snack. Crunchy outside with a fluffy bun and flavorful rib meat. It's one of my favorite things to snack on here. I've yet to try their wings but I've heard good things about it. Will for sure have to try it out next time I'm around the area. Came with cousin to order the boba teas, but I only had the parmesan fries. The fries were cooked and flavored perfectly (crispy crunchy outside and soft inside). Wish I had ordered a drink, but I was only craving the fries. They gave us an incomplete order when our number was called. My cousin had to show the receipt as proof and we had to wait longer. Some people do not know the concept of replying to an RSVP. Some people think that you can reserve a spot for two, then bring five, including your grandma, cousins, and sister. You know what I'm talking about...you may even be in that same category. I didn't mind that my hairdresser "invited" me to have boba after her shift. They are still open for business during SIP but try to call in your order first. When you get in theres a line for walk-ins and called orders. A plexiglass desk separates the customer and the employee behind it. You can still apply your number to the 5 star app but you have to enter your number into the walk-in register. Food has been consistent and the fried short rib bao is my go-to whenever I'm in the area. The spicy sauce is pretty spicy so if you're tame to spice opt for no spicy sauce. Review Update! I came in last week and their cashier Amy was super friendly. She made sure to ask if I wanted any extra toppings/sweetness level/ice level. I ordered the jasmine milk tea with pearls and an order of their popcorn chicken, soy sauce chicken wings and truffle fries. OH MY GOODNESS!!!! Their Truffle Fries are the BEST FRENCH FRIES ever! It came in a very generous size box and it was PIPING HOT! I love me some fresh french fries. It was delicious especially topped with Parmesan cheese! YUMMY in my TUMMY!!! Their popcorn chicken came out steaming hot and fresh and topped with the perfect amount of spiciness for me. It had plenty of basil leaves, which paired perfectly with the chicken. My favorite place for Boba hands down in the South Bay. i-Tea not only has a huge variety of tea drinks but they also have great food selections as well. Whenever u come to i-tea I usually get their A7 or A8 drinks with boba. Both of them have very different tastes, A7 has a earthy oolong flavor while A8 has a light jasmine green tea flavor. Both a must try! For the food i-Tea has BOMB FOOD! There have been times after I hit the gym that I went to i-Tea just for their food. I love there fried calamari, it's not dry and always tasty when dipped in sriracha! Their popcorn chicken, soy chicken wings, and their short rib bao are all amazing, I would order one Bao with an order of fried calamari and I would be set for my post workout grind! They were were pretty soft, and had a few crunchy small bits. Lots of big rings. We had to add a lot of five spice powder to make them our spice level, but overall, I'd give them 3/5. My first suggestion is to order online! When you get there. There will be signs with the QR code that way you can wait in your car. Came here on New Year's Eve because it was closeby to where my parents and I ordered our dinner. When we got there, there was already a pretty long line. I'm not sure what the precautions are for Santa Clara county, but even with the number of people waiting in line outdoors it still felt like there was a lot of people indoors as well which made me feel a bit uncomfortable. Next time around I'm definitely going to be ordering online since there is a separate line for the pick up of that. When you order they're pretty fast and you can wait outside until they call your number. I get people are pretty cold and the place itself is spacious enough but still concerned re: being 6 feet apart and social distancing. The ordering process itself wasn't too bad- they have a speaker so you can hear the cashier when you order. They took our all the seats and tables so there is more space to stand but I still felt like there was way too many people inside the restaurant while I was ordering. I wish I had paid attention to the signs earlier so I could have ordered online instead. Everyone was wearing face masks and trying their best to social distance tho. Boba itself was okay. It wasn't the best but it wasn't the worst. The food looked pretty good. The two drinks that I got were overall okay and enjoyable. I come here ALL THE TIME. This is my go-to boba and snack spot. They are consistently delicious, regardless of who is preparing the drinks and snacks or what day of the week it is. (I can't say the same for other i-Tea locations.) When Shelter-in-Place went into effect, this spot swiftly went into action and never missed a beat when it came to serving up my favorites. My son is a huge fan of the Mango Sago drink (I'm always stealing sips!) I'm more of an iced coffee fan so I usually go for the Brown Sugar Boba Latte or the Black Tea Oreo Creamy blended drink. I highly recommend the Japanese Egg Tofu (another item I will get on almost every visit) - the tofu texture is soft inside, but crispy on the outside! They also top it with loads of seaweed and this delicious sauce. Honestly, with the variety at this location you'd think I'd be exploring more of their offerings but I've stuck with my favorites. I need to step out of my comfort zone and try everything else on the menu because chances are, I'll enjoy those items too. You'll see me here again and again! My only complaint is that they open later than I'd like (11am) and there been times I've come here too early, forgetting that they weren't open yet. itea is my go to place for taro milk teas and taro smoothies. Unlike other boba shops whose taro drinks are 100% artificial, they put in real taro bits here. When drinks use all real taro it usually ends up tasting like melted potato but here I think they have perfected a good balance of powder and taro bits. Idk why but I love this place a lot!! I personally find their drinks so reasonably priced, if not cheap!! Less than $4 for a regular with toppings is amazing. And unlike many other boba places, this place gives you a ton of toppings. Whenever I get the K series drinks there's inches worth of boba in my cup!
