I love this place. It has almost become like a 2nd home to me. The staff is amazing and the entertainment is unmatched. I usually go on Sunday or Monday for karaoke hosted by Diva. It is always a blast. There is a girl named Shanning Tatum who is an amazing singer, she's funny, and she's pretty. Amazing she's still single. Outside on the patio there is always great music to dance to. Josh, the DJ, is so talented. Hope he doesn't leave to go somewhere like LA. Even I'm sure he would be very successful. I simply can't say enough about how much I love this bar. Only complaint is that it is too small. For the more popular drag shows, like the Disney show, it gets really crowded. Monday they do 3 for 1 cocktails, and you will NOT find a better deal in Tucson. Everybody should check out IBTs at least once. read more

This place was odd... the outside was a crazy moshpit... and there were a lot of crazy straight girls... not that I have anything against them... but I mean there were a LOT... I felt like a minority. Not why I go to a gay club. the music outside was icky straight music HAHA (in my opinion.) People shoved and some were just kinda rude. 4th Avenue has a great variety of bars that appeals to different people. For me, I can call IBT's one of my top 2 favorite bars on the Avenue. I am a karaoke fan and IBT's has a great set up where the same sound system used for their DJ rockin Friday and Saturday nights, you too get to use to sing into! They always provide a variety of fun events to check out, weekday drink specials, and of course 3 days of karaoke, Monday nights hosted by the lovely Diva (Miss Gay America 2012), Friday Happy Hour karaoke from 5pm to 8:30pm, and all day Sunday starting patio karaoke at 5pm and inside karaoke at 9pm. The bar staff is the best in town any day of the week. Arthur is the best KJ in town. Great "train wreck" tv shows on all the time sometimes I get lucky and they are showing The Golden Girls. Always a nice group of people there. Bathroom just got repainted, but I don't care about the bathrooms, I like this bar. For something different and out of the ordinary on the Avenue, a fun night out with the girls, or just a quiet, dark place to chill on a hot day, try IBT's. We were there for a birthday. The Friday night drag show started off awesome. After a while one of our party was asked to leave. None of us were drunk. None was obnoxious and causing problems. The manager stated that there were complaints about one member's BO. That was completely ridiculous. There was no BO. We were asked to leave because one member of our party was a bearded straight man who was wearing a dress. Nothing more. In what should have been a welcoming environment, this man was singled out because he was enjoying himself in a way that bothered others. In a bar that should be entirely inclusive, we were asked to leave because someone took offense to how someone was dressed. I will never be back. read more

This was mine and my girlfriends first date spot. This place is fun and it's always poppin'. They always have great drink specials and everyone is so nice. Only downfall is the one ladies restroom they have inside. They also have port o potties out back which in my opinion aren't very sanitary but when you gotta go you gotta go. I have never gotten sick eating here in all the times I ate here. The bartenders have always given me the correct change back. The bathroom plumbing works and there are paper towels. (The sound system is good enough that I can dance even though I'm partially deaf and am congenitally uncoordinated.) Somebody drunk and confident af was picking on me consistently and they were bounced without me even having to say anything. I don't know what everyone else is talking about. I love this place. Sure there are lots of straight girls that go here but you'll find that at ANY gay bar. I love the drag shows and other shows they have here. The outside patio is very nice. It can get a little packed but what do you expect when you live in a city with so few gay bars. read more

I decided to try IBT's one more time. And the results were the same as the last visit. I used to identify as a GAY male but after experiencing the so called GLBTQ community(What Community!) I now consider myself a confirmed asexual. IBT's is just one example of why I will never get involved with anyone from this lifestyle again! The gay men are rude and ugly! And the lesbians there had no manners. (Some kept on knocking into me on the dance floor.) I have decided not to ever involve myself in the GLBTQ scene again. From Phoenix, came down for Pride in the Desert. Went to IBTS. Was extremely disappointed. First the security Who was doing crowd control (semi-tall, white guy with glasses and balding) was extremly rude. We patiently stood in line. We said only one person can enter. I was with a friend so I asked if there was obe person behind who would like to enter. When the girl went up. He asked her how many people were with her. There was 4. Then told her $10 a person and they could all go in. She paid 40 for all her friends (the cover was 5) I asked why he would allow the 4 people to go in after knowing we were in line for about 20 minutes, and why he was charging 10?? All he said was I could go elsewhere. Which is true. But I had friends inside so I opted to pay and go in. After getting in went to get a drink. The bartender (they all kinda look the same so I forget hiw he looks) was rude, I ordered 2 pitchers. He Took other orders and gave the gentlemen thier pitchers. Came back and told us they ran out of pitchers and only had one left. I understand it was pride so it may have been busier than usual. But I fail to understand why knowing your short on pitchers you decide to give them to the people who ordered after us. We went to a diffrent bartender (no shirt little white shorts) and ordered shots. He was nice and attentive. I wish i got his name. Because he was the highlight of this trip. Needless to say those two experiences left a stain on what was otherwise a fun little trip. I went to a couple other bars. And had great experiences. If this is the type of people IBTS employs I feel bad for visitors that come to Tucson. And hope they have a better time. The expierence was so bad I actually downloaded yelp just to write this. So if you go to IBTS keep in mind this bar is suppose to be inclusive. In that supposed effort. They actually excluded a number of people. Its unfortunate they call themselves part of the LGBT community. Nothing community about this place. read more

First of all, this place has a cover charge, which we almost decided right then to just leave. (We should have.) We live in Los Angeles, and all of the bars there I go to in West Hollywood don't have a cover charge, so I don't know who this bar in Tucson thinks they are. Even the bars we go to in WeHo have live entertainment (as did another two that we went to in Tucson) but no cover, so IBT can't even justify that as an excuse. But what really disappointed us was our experience going to the bathroom. Two of us waited in line for the very small bathroom. Three boys came out wiping something white from their noses, screaming, laughing...it was pretty clear they were doing cocaine in there. We went in to use the urinals and were a little confused as to why we couldn't find a sink to wash our hands. We thought maybe there was a common sink outside between the male and female bathrooms, so we went looking for it. We were wrong, and another guest told us that the only sink was in the one stall with the toilet. We waited in line for the bathroom again, and noticed that nobody else who used the two urinals seemed to care about washing their hands, which is disgusting. This bar needs more sinks. We then went in to wash our hands together, with the stall doors open, and a security person from the bar's staff SLAMS open the door and shouts "ONLY ONE PERSON IN THE STALL!!!" This is a rule I've heard before and understand, so I typically wouldn't mind, except for how rudely he yelled at us and what followed after. I told him we were just washing our hands, and he said it didn't matter. (He could have stayed there and supervised us as we washed our hands for all I care.) My boyfriend left the bathroom to talk with this guy, but I stayed back to finish washing my hands. I couldn't hear everything the two of them were saying, but I could hear the staff member's rude tone. I left the bathroom to talk to them both, and after saying several other rude things, the security guy was justifying the lack of sinks by saying "well you know this place was built in the 1920's, so we haven't been able to renovate." (Why didn't you add a sink when you turned it into a gay bar because I doubt it was one in the 1920's, and frankly, that's a lame excuse anyway.) I said "no, we don't know because we've never been here before." He replied, "oh, well I didn't know it was your first time," I told him he should treat all his guests politely, and that if this is how he treats the regulars, I certainly wouldn't want to come back. I ended the conversation by saying that we understand the rule about not sharing the stall, but it should have been enforced on the guys in front of us who were doing cocaine, and that the guy didn't need to storm in the room and put on a display of authority by yelling at us and being so rude afterwards. I wished him a good night, and walked away. We would have left at that point, but had already paid our cover charge, so we decided to stay for one drink. (Almost like we were hostages to the cover charge!) The bartender we encountered next was super sweet. We happened to bring up the story of the bathroom, and he was sympathetic and said that the guy shouldn't be rude, and that his excuse of "I didn't know it was your first time" was particularly uncalled for, and that everyone at the bar should be treated nicely. We paid for our drinks and went to sit down somewhere. After finishing our drinks we left, but the SunLink was 19 minutes away from arriving, so we decided to go back inside where it was warm and share one more drink. The same bartender was there and said he was worried the two of us had just left, and again was very nice to us. I wish I could remember his name. We finished our drinks, probably never to return again, and writing this Yelp review. One horribly rude staff member was all it took. Apparently doing drugs together in the bathroom is okay, but washing your hands is a sin. (A sin that even our cover charge wouldn't allow us to commit.) read more

Made the mistake of returning. I've only met friendly people since moving to Tucson, but this establishment is successful at finding the least friendly staff. The door guys (especially the $ guy with the fan robbing me of my $3) went out of their way to remind me why I don't want to spend my money here--RUDE! Bartenders could give a crap. This is the WORST gay bar I've ever been to ( been out for 30 yrs and traveled the world) IBTs makes Council Blufffs, IA look like the Castro. Alright where to start.... I like the music played indoors more than I do outdoors, but both side play good music. If you are a female and have to pee, you would probably be better off leaving going to another bar peeing there and coming back before you get into that one stall bathroom. The bartenders at the inside bar seem to pay attention to the guys WAY MORE than they do to the females. I was standing there trying to get a bar tenders attention for awhile and he never paid attention to me. I got my friend, he walked up and got the bartenders' attention no problem. I was PISSED. Definitely not the first time that has happened. The place is RIDICULOUSLY crowded on the weekends. During the week it's a nice place to go to have drinks with your friends and dance/sing what have you. I go back there because it's the only gay bar/ club I know about (fairly new here) on 4th ave and have have straight friends that go do their thing while I'm in there, but if there were other options I'm not quite sure if I would go back too often. read more

Some of the bartenders need a refresher, or a makeover more like it, in basic courtesy. I was stunned when I went to IBTs in January, 2017 and saw a bartender turn around, notice what I assume was a customer who had been there before, and say (with attitude), "Oh, it's you again," and turn around again. The customer justifiably just shook his head in disbelief. Nothing welcoming in that encounter. The bar's owner/manager might want to let his employees know that letting their superficial negative opinions and prejudices show regarding particular customers does not exactly help business. Immaturity is not a plus in business. It is particularly bad when bad hires are the norm in a business. "Attitude" becomes contagious. read more

It was our first time here last weekend, and it was fun. There were a lot of people, and I even ended up seeing some friends from Phoenix which was a lot of fun. They play different music inside and outside. The music was good. I like the environment, and like how people are outside dancing too. Two things I would change though, are the bathrooms for one. That situation is HORRIBLE. One bathroom stall for the women, and I'm sure the men too. The line gets sooo long and it takes 10-15 minutes if you're waiting in line to get into the bathroom. The second thing is, there was a bartender that was a complete douche. The rest were very kind, but one of them in particular was so rude and nasty. He was only being nice to people that he seemed like he knew or were regulars. He wasn't even cute, so I don't know why he thought he had the right to act like an ass. Anyways, I would def come back here, but avoid that bartender next time. read more

Here I sit hangover free the morning after being kicked out of this place for being "too drunk." I was not getting sick, bothering anyone, undressing, falling over, or anything of the sort, just letting loose after a very stressful year. Excuse me for adding a little life to a dead bar on a Wednesday night. Seriously, nobody was there. Also, if you have a problem, bring it up with me, not my friends. If this bouncer had talked to me directly, he'd have had a better idea of the situation. It pisses me off that he essentially asked my friends to drag me out instead of kicking me out himself. All I can say is I hope that guy has as bad a night as he made mine. Maybe he wanted something to do because it was so dead in there. That being said, I have had positive experiences here and the patio bartender was very nice and recommended some delicious drinks to us - just don't expect to be allowed to stay long after consuming them. The guy wouldn't even allow me to sit and have a glass of water. Ridiculous. Yes, I was intoxicated, but I'm pretty sure that's what's supposed to happen at a bar. read more
