Had a great time in the observation wheel with my daughter and husband. We went early Sunday afternoon and got our own capsule since there were not that many people at that time of the day. It was sunny and beautiful outside. The service in the wheel was great. I would say I'd recommend this attraction. One thing though we bought a deal online, for the wheel plus a restaurant in the park complex. The deal was pretty good, however what we didn't like about the deal itself is that when we got to the restaurant, they didn't have much idea of the bundle deal, so the person in the counter had to ask their manager what was it about, eventually it was fixed, we ate but it was awkward that the restaurant didn't inform their employee about its promotions. This park is super cool. It's surrounded by shops and restaurants as well as the iconic Orlando eye ride. I like to peruse all the smaller vending carts that surround this park and enjoy watching people hang out. It also has a fun water show and is good for people watching. Great place to go and enjoy time with your family. There is a green lawn for a picnic. They have tons of restaurants and bars to keep your stomach full. Visitors can also enjoy shopping in the various gift shops. The biggest attraction is the aquarium and the ginormous Ferris wheel, also known as the Orlando eye. The park features free garage parking and it is located in the heart of I drive. A must visit when in Orlando. read more

Huge center with the monster Ferris Wheel at it's back! I went for the SEA LIFE Aquarium- but walked around to check out the shops. Inside is a food court and gift shop for the Ferris Wheel, ticketing for local things to do, the aquarium and Madame Tussauds. Outside the mall continues with more attractions, several restaurants, plenty of shopping and entertainment. I would have done the Wheel in a heartbeat if I wasn't alone. 400 feet panoramic views and about 20 minutes to go around. Sunset sounds delightful! Weekdays they are open 10am-10pm and Fri/Sat open till Midnight! Free parking is on site and too many must sees here to miss! I'll be back for more adventures! read more

We were having a pretty nice time at ICON Park until we were asked repeatedly by various representatives to attend a presentation for Sapphire Resorts. We eventually signed up with Yomaris. She was extremely mannerable and because of her kindness, we decided to accept the offer to attend the presentation. We told her that we were not necessarily interested in purchasing anything. But, she assured us that all we would need to do is watch the presentation, which is less than 90-mins and that we would be free to go with our $150 gift card to our restaurant of choice (based on the options available with the card). Yomaris told us that if we signed up, however, then we would be there between 90 to 120 mins. We made our appointment for Sunday, Dec. 31, 2023 (1 pm) at 8371 International Dr.,Suite 50, at Icon Park, Orlando, FL 32819-9308. On the day of our presentation, my husband and I agreed that we were not going to purchase anything. We are already timeshare owners and we only wanted to help Yomaris and, of course, receive the $150 + $20 deposit ($170 total). As the presentation began, I set my timer for 90 mins. The presentation lasted for 65 mins. We were then escorted to another area. My husband went to the restroom and our female representative asked me my thoughts of the presentation and our intentions. I told her that the presentation was good, however, we were not interested. I asked her what we needed to sign in order to be on our way with our gift. She stated that I was obligated to stay for 120 mins. I told her what Yomaris told us and I showed her my timer, which displayed 25 mins left of the 90 mins that I set. She stated that she had additional information to share and that I was required to stay for the full 120 mins. I told her to share. She stated that she didn't want to share if I already knew that I was not going to sign up and that it would take 30 mins to get my gift ready. She left me at the table alone. A few minutes later, my husband returned from the bathroom and I informed him of the conversation between me and the rep. After about 10 mins, my husband turned his chair around in order to see the room behind us. I then too turned my chair around. We saw our rep give an envelope to another couple (they were white). She was extremely friendly and shook their hands. They left. My husband and I knew they did not purchase (just like us) and were given their gift in the envelope as soon as they made it known that they were not interested. So, I approached her and asked what I needed to sign in order to receive our gift so that we could be on our way. She stated that our gift was not ready and that she would be with us soon. I saw that she had paperwork in her hand with our names on it. After an additional 5 mins, my husband stated that the rep was intentionally making us wait. I too saw that she was purposefully standing around talking to others, forcing us to wait. It wasn't until I yelled, "We are not interested in purchasing. I have been here for 90-minutes. Give us our gift," that she produced that envelope. She and about 6 other staff members threatened physical harm to us and called the police on us. They called us poor. They said that we could not afford to eat out and to take the gift and leave since we're so poor. One female representative even gave us the middle finger. When the police showed up, we explained the situation and he left. We were berated and treated like scum for adhering to the agreement. We were not obligated to sign up or purchase anything and should not have been treated as we were. I would advise anyone going to ICON Park to please beware of the predatory practices of Sapphire Resorts. They hound you and then become extremely unprofessional, lacking respect and courtesy when you decline their pitch. read more

I have come several times and each time is consistently great. The outdoor courtyard is so enjoyable with live DJ, and tons of restaurants, bars, and amusement options. The entire area so wheelchair friendly which I appreciate. The restaurant options, and walking distance I-drive fun make this a perfect landmark for beginning your night/day of adventure. The Icon wheel is spectacular and the view is one of a kind of our beautiful city. I was able to easy access the ICON wheel with my wheelchair and enjoy the view and experience with my group. The cost is a little excessive but it's touristy and a great experience. I think it's definitely an experience one should try at least once. read more

Went to Orlando for a conference and ended up staying at a hotel near by, this was a nice surprise. Walking distance to some decent restaurants and shops and some fun rides. There is a swing, tower drop and slingshot, not too cheap but cheap enough. It's a cool place to find if you're in the area, i wouldn't seek it out if I wasn't in the area but if i'm there for a convention again, would probably stay near just to have something to do. read more

This attraction is a must-do, at least once. ICON Park is in the heart of International Drive, one of Orlando's tourist districts. This is very obvious when you are at ICON Park. To ride the eye you can expect to pay $30 per adult and about $24 for a child. It is worth noting they do offer a Florida resident rate. You start your journey with some photos in front of a couple of green screens. Then you head into a little movie. After that, you head to the platform to board your capsule. If you are a small party they will most likely mix you with another party. The capsules are clean, air-conditioned and have music. Also inside there are two iPad's that serves as little information centers for what you will see. The ride lasts about 20 minutes and that time sure does fly by. Once you disembark your capsule you review your green screen photos then exit through the gift shop. Parking is free in the large garage next to ICON Park. Parking in the garage can be stressful as everyone insists on parking on the first spot they see, even if that means taking 10 minutes to do a 20 point turn into the space. Once you get up to level 4 you will notice parking spaces will open up. If you are hungry there is a food court in ICON Park and several restaurants in the complex. read more

WOW! Really cool place with A LOT to do. Our kids rode the mini train ride, we got freshly squeezed orange juice from the Cafe De Paris, we ate at Ole Reds (which was okay-the food was just a bit bland) but had great live music, we played at the arcade, some of the family members bought ice cream at Haagen Das which they seemed to enjoy. Other family members went to the wax museum and the aquarium, which they also said was great (next time we really want to try it as well). ICON Park is the perfect setting for a fun night! There are many things to do including the Orlando Eye and restaurants surrounding the area. I could list everything but that might take awhile considering there's so much to do here! The Eye itself has breathtaking views of the Orlando area, especially if you go at sunset! During our visit we went on the wheel, and explored the surrounding area. The wheel provides a great view of the future site of Epic Universe, and Volcano Bay. It is advertised that you can also see Disney world, however this is a generous overstatement. You can only see the large buildings (Tower of Terror, Spaceship Earth, etc). I was disappointed by how bare bones the experience was. I had a hard time getting any of my friends to go with me because of the height and I didn't want to go alone - because of the height (400ft). I finally had a taker. We'd planned to go around 7:00pm and there was a lot of rain earlier in the day. I was happy the sky cleared just in time. The lines were pretty short and we moved through quite quickly to the waiting area. We skipped the ticket lines because of our free Teachers' passes. We were lucky enough to get the Coca Cola car. It came with a cooler filled with cans of ice cold Coca Cola. The ride was pretty brief. It about 20 minutes but to me it seemed to be a lot shorter. The height was not bad and the view was amazing. It's a giant observation wheel (basically, a Ferris wheel except you ride in an enclosed capsule) and, according to the website, it's a 23 minute (slow) ride from start to finish. I previously rode on the High Roller observation wheel in Las Vegas which, to be honest, blows this one away. The High Roller is loud music and fancy lights and such. It's a Ferrari. This is the Smart Car of Observation Wheels. On the High Roller, you ride in a beautiful, large capsule. The Eye's capsule is far, far smaller and felt, well, more "economical," versus the High Roller. In fact, the doors did not close completely on the Eye which, again, gave it more of a "budget" feel. Still, the views are pretty cool (again, not crazy Vegas lights cool, but this ain't Vegas) and it's worth doing once. Look for deals online. There is no reason to pay full price. The workers during our visit were goofballs and were messing around when we exited the ride so we didn't even get to see the pictures they made us take at the start. Oh, well. read more

This was really nice evening event for my family and I. We arrived around 7:30. The line looked long but it goes by pretty fast. 10 people fit in each each pod but they let my group of 4 in our own pod. The view is gorgeous at night because you get to see the lights of the city. The wheel is in an awesome location because there's like 6 restaurants and other family activities on the same "mall". Tickets for the wheel are $28 a person. Had a truly amazing time with the wife there for her birthday. The businesses were all open & running at full capacity. Had a bit of bad luck as it rained off &'on the day we visited but we still made the best of it. The Museum of Illusions & The Wheel came as a package deal for like $75 on Groupon. This place rivals Downtown Disney and has a lot of fun things to do for those near International Drive. My only reason for 4 stars is that the parking situation is horrendous. There is a free parking deck but the traffic backs up and the spots are small. I would avoid coming in a large truck. Off to a sad start already. I'm here for hospitality days and there's no directions to help guests. I waited in line at Madam Tussauds to get to the front 15 minutes later to be told it's the wrong line. Went to the empty "VIP" desk the lady at Tussauds directed me to, only to find I was in the wrong line again. This is terrible! So I was sent to the wrong line AGAIN by the line I was "supposed to be in", I was directed to speak to Dave, the manager. I guess I should apologize for wasting his time. I was talking to him an he immediately turned around to talk to someone else, guess I'm not as important as Rhodes guests. I would not recommend this to ANY of my guests or friends. I will not be back. STEER CLEAR! The terrible service here is NOT worth it!! Update- the line I waited in last was a line to get a slip of paper that Dave was giving out in the line he could have added me to the end of, so now I'm in the final line waiting. His could have been avoided if everyone communicated with each other and the manager pretended to care. Came here with my family to go to the Aquarium and ended up at one of the restaurants located in the area. It's nice and clean little area with a Ferris wheel, the wax museum, and the aquarium. There is also a little train that goes around the plaza $6 for kids and $4 for adults. They have little toys for the kids (bubble guns, souvenir shops, etc). Parking deck is free. read more

But my girlfriend said that for my first experience this will be really good chance to "conquer my fear". And I have to admit it wasn't as scary as I thought it would be. We did the private one with just us two and it was great. The pod had A/C and it came with a bottle of Champagne or Wine which ever you picked. It is in the same complex as Madame Tussaud's and Sea Life, so there is a deal if you buy two attractions or three attractions at once. However, with $27.5 it is still a good deal. There is drinks counter as you get into the queue where you can buy a beer, champagne etc. to enjoy along with your ride. It takes about 20 minutes to complete a full circle with light music playing in the background on each cabin. Typically they have about 6-8 people in each cabin. It was a great experience. The staff is good and helpful. No issues there. Behind the complex of the giant wheel, there are a couple of restaurants where you can have lunch/dinner etc. read more

The cars/pods are nice and roomy and at 400 ft tall, this is easily the tallest Ferris, er, observation wheel I've ever been on. I took a bunch of pics on my phone, and looked askance at the employees trying to get me to buy a souvenir pic when I disembarked. At a whopping $30 this giant wheel is way overpriced, even if it cost a fortune to build and maintain. The deals where they bundle it with one or more of the other attractions at the same tourist trap are much more reasonable. $37 for the wheel and the skeleton museum was a much easier pill to swallow, and honestly, it's cool going up that high, but the skeleton museum kind of stole the show. Maybe it was the overcast day I went but from high overhead "The City Beautiful" is a bit more like The City Boring. If this ICON were in say Tampa or St. Petersburg I feel like the views would be far more spectacular. But, of course there's not a dozen theme parks over there to draw the crowds in. If skeletons aren't your thing, I went to the wax museum here a couple of years ago. It doesn't take that long to get through but there's a gaggle of great photo ops. I'm not a selfie person, but getting to put my feet up on the desk in the Oval Office and flip off President Cheetoh was worth the cost of admission alone. I'd avoid the Sea Life aquarium unless you've got young kids. Free parking is a plus, in the giant garage that sprouted up in the two years since I've been here. What used to be the parking lot is a gaggle of chain restaurants, souvenir shops and the like. I'd be disgracing Joni Mitchell if I was actually sad to see a big, ugly parking lot go, but it's an awful tourist trap to wade through to get to the main building with the giant wheel behind it. One last thing - the roof of that main building and the others are really boring looking. The owners would do well to pay some muralists to paint the hell out of those roofs. You know, since thousands and thousands of people look down at them. It would be an added bonus to help justify the steep cost. read more

I purchased the two deal combo with riding the star flyer as well! It costs over $20 to ride this 23 minute Ferris wheel. I liked that it was slow because you are able to soak in the view. It takes you the same height as the star flyer. There's a pole in the middle with a small platform to allow you to sit down. The view is nice and able to see all the places Orlando has to offer. There's a concession stand prior to boarding if you want snacks for the ride. Prices for that were reasonable. Overall, I wouldn't say this a must do ride. We enjoyed dinner at the sugar factory and the Outback Steakhouse, both places had superb service. We bought sandals and a little drone from the local shop. Beauty is in the eye of the beholder. And the Orlando eye is no exception. If you are a Florida native, you may find it a little cheesy with hazy vistas of other Florida theme parks and miniature downtown Orlando buildings. Or if you are a tourist this would be just another trap that you'd be happy to get caught in. The gf and I were able to take advantage of the "First to Fly" weekend, so we can ride it before it opens to the general public. You get a free pin to commemorate this day along with green screen photos that are reminiscent of those cruise vacations. You start with a 4D movie of Florida landscapes which was actually pretty cool. Gave me a little pride for my state! Once that's over, you are escorted to one of the pods. Ours fit about 10 people and they so graciously stopped it from moving in order to get a grandma and her walker on there safely. Our pad also had an attendant that answered a bunch of questions regarding the structure of the Orlando Eye and any other points of interest that you can visibly see. They say you can see Ft Lauderdale on a clear day. Once the 20ish minute ride is over, like any other good amusement park/attraction, it takes you to the souvenir shop. You can buy your green screen photos complete with a binder of more Florida facts. Or you can buy pencils, teddy bears, mugs, etc at the shop. I was upset that the frame that they were selling wouldn't fit the picture that we bought....fail. After it was done, we went for ice cream at the nearby Ben & Jerry's and took in the remaining hours of daylight on the softest astroturf I've ever sat on. So anyway, pretty cool. I'm sure it's going to be one of those, one and done things that each Floridian will need to do sometime. If i end up going again, i'll probably try and go at night when they light up the wheel. At 400-ft tall, This is the tallest Ferris Wheel in the East Coast, or at least that's what they claim it to be. Of course, I had to ride it just to say that I've ridden it. The cheapest option will cost you $20/person online ($25 if you pay at the ticket counter). They don't have any discounts for college students or for seniors so my sister and my dad had to pay full price. Just like any other rides in the Orlando area, they take a couple of green screen pictures before you get on the ride. You have the option to purchase these pictures for $35. You also get a code to get two extra pictures online when you purchase the pictures. Your experience starts with watching a 4-D movie about... well... nothing. It's a 5-minute long movie about a little girl who dreams of the different attractions that Orlando has to offer: Legoland, etc (Not DIsney, not Universal - pretty much an 5-minute long ad for the Company who owns the Orlando Eye). In my opinion, this was pretty much unnecessary. Once you're done with the movie, you get out the other side and, just like everything else in Orlando, wait in line to get on the capsule. The wait for me was around 15 minutes and this was during a slow day. The good thing about the ride: You get a whole capsule to yourself and your group. They don't make two groups get in the same capsule together (not sure if this is the case if it's much busier). They have a couple of touch screen guides inside the capsule that will display information of the things that you can see from the capsule. If you're a couple and thinking of this place as a date night, don't get too frisky. They do have an eye watching you inside the capsule (security camera). Just saying. The view from the very top of the Eye was not too bad. It's unfortunate the immediate surrounding isn't too pretty, but you are 400-ft in the air so you can see pretty far. Also, unlike a regular Ferris Wheel, this ride is much better for someone who is scared of height since the capsule is totally enclosed and not shaky at all. My dad was super scared when he rode the Ferris Wheel in Chicago and that was only 150-ft tall. But he was fine riding this one. So, ride the Eye if your sole purpose is to ride the tallest Ferris Wheel in the East Coast (like I did). If you're looking for a good view, then ride a Ferris Wheel NOT in Orlando. When we arrived in Orlando this past weekend, we saw the Eye from our hotel across the street. We walked over and was there within 5 minutes. Score! They have a photographer to take pictures and you get to watch a 5 minute show about how the attraction made a little girl's dream come true. We were asked to go outside and wait in line to get into a pod. There was four of us including a little boy and we were taken up into the sky. It's really a great view of the City of Orlando and you're able to take a lot of pictures since it goes very slow. The ride generally lasts about 30 minutes and there is two touch screen guides on the area to give you more information if you choose to use those. If you are afraid of heights, this may not be the ride for you. Some have a tolerance of Ferris wheels and I can see people being very afraid going on it since you're in a enclosed pod. It does move with a good amount of force and it can put people on edge. Since I have jumped out of a plane before, I had no issue with it. Of course, my 2 year old son was on it as well and he was in awe the whole time. It was a fun time had by all. read more
