    Some of the delicious pastries
    Bertha V.

Came here a few days ago because I had seen a instagram post and since we were in the area I asked my husband to stop by. It's located in the corner and parking can be a bit tricky in this area but we got lucky and parked across the street. We walked in and we see all the delicious pastries that they sell. We ordered a pistachio eclair and another delicious danish. They also have coffee so I had to try it. I ordered an iced americano. Everything was delicious! The service is pretty fast and they have a lot of seating areas. Would love to come back to try some of the other pastries available.

    three tier tea party tray

We did a tea party here recently and we truly enjoyed the experience. We ordered the tea and food selections up front, I had the milky oolong, and they brought out this three-tier tray for us. The ambiance was pretty quiet, just a few booths around, which made it feel relaxed but we did come during the weekday. Top tier of the tray was all macarons, and there was a good variety of flavors, all with that crisp shell and soft center. Middle tier was my favorite, fresh raspberries and blackberries on tarts, plus little meringue and lemon curd cups that were light and not too sweet. Bottom tier was savory, crostini topped with what I think was braised short rib, plus butter and citrus curd. Everything was delicious and I'm looking forward to going back!

My best friend is vegan and she wanted to check this place out for her birthday! We stopped by on a Friday afternoon and there were a few people. They have about 3-4 small tables in the front where you can enjoy your pastries and food. They have a great variety of pastries, sandwiches, and drinks. I ordered the blueberry danish and it was really good! My friend had the spinach soup and a sandwich and she enjoyed both. The star of the show was the raspberry which had the perfect balance of sweet and tart.

    Spinach quiche and side salad

While I'm not vegan, my boss is and she had a few things delivered while in town. After trying a couple of tasty items from here, I had to come check the place out for myself! Today was my second time here and definitely not my last. I'd been thinking about their spinach quiche all morning and just had to get one today. Aside from the spinach quiche, I also got the apple tart, an iced latte and a cinnamon cruffin (which was a recommendation from staff). Inside the place is super cute, with all the treats and goodies laid out for choosing, and the seating is super inviting and comfortable. Parking is either metered street if you're lucky or there's a paid lot around the corner on De Lacey. Definitely one of my favorite spots for a bite and a treat! The staff here are very helpful and friendly, and they give great recommendations. There's seating indoors as well as outdoor patio seating. Highly recommend coming in to see all their goodies. It's a little pricey but so worth it. Everything I've had here is phenomena!

    Pistachio Eclair and some tea!

This place is pretty great. We've been meaning to try this for a while, and finally, during our spring break staycation, we managed to make our way over. We got a turkey sandwich, their mushroom soup, a quiche, and an eclair (of course - pistachio), and a pot of tea (blue montagne - a black tea with some berry flavors). Everything was really delicious, and it makes me think about how far vegan cuisine has come in the last, even 10 years. Many of their stuff is gluten-free as well. The only thing that I'll say was kind of sad - we got a loaf of beet bread to go, put it in the fridge as soon as we got home, and the next day, it got moldy. I brought it back and exchanged it for one of their charcoal loaves. I think they are under the same ownership or something as the wine bar next door, since they share a space. The space out front is pretty spacious, but there are only 3 tables, so maybe there is another room when it gets crowded? I didn't really explore the space this time.

I had to try this place multiple times in the past two weeks! Backstory years ago I came across these bakers at the farmers market, they have vegan macaroons and my kid is all about the French macaroons! I knew they had opened a brick and mortar in Pasadena a while ago and it just took me until recently to finally make it there. Don't judge me I was trying to spare my wallet and waistline! Anyways none are being spared from the pure delectable excellence at this point! Before I go on I get to acknowledge that yeast breads and sugar can mess me up, sick, bloat, etc. TMI? I dgaf! Because I don't have the extreme reactions here that I usually get elsewhere. Actually a majority of the sweets from the eclairs to the cinnamon twists are reasonably sweetened! There's no compensating sugar for bad ingredients. Every flavor stands out and participates together like the instruments of a symphony. Delightful! The only one I cannot handle so far are the French macaroons which according to my kid are exactly to their liking. So far I've had the cinnamon twist, blueberry bar, chef special cream filled cherry cruffin, and the chef's special quiche which looked so legit I had to ask if it's really vegan!!! What magic is this!?! Because for the price it's insane! Other places would charge double to offer this and I would pay it! Now the drinks...on the pricier side? Yes. Is it worth it HECK YES because I did my drink order again! Dirty Matcha with almond milk (match latte with shot of espresso)' Don't judge me I need the caffeine ride without the crash. Normally this drink tastes like mud everywhere else but here it's a smooth caffeinated perfection. I don't need to bust out the stevia, it's perfect as is!!! This is the first and only time the pairing is balanced and smooth. Needless to say this is my top pick for vegan bakeries and coffee/tea places! I can wait to fully enjoy the ambiance with a decadent crystalline flare of luxury in a quant cafe Bonus: they have pastry classes, afternoon tea, it's a wine bar by night, and there's so much more to know about the artistry and offerings it's well worth the visit!

Walking in I was greeted in French and the staff was super friendly and patient as I took my time looking through all the shelves of pastries they had. The interior is super pretty and they had a gorgeous neon sign. Also love the bread shelf they had. If I didn't just buy bread before this I would've wanted to buy all of it. Now as for the pastries I got, I tried their fruit tart, macarons, and the chef special strawberry croissant cube. Everything is so delicious and not too sweet. I like how fresh all the fruits are. The macarons were perfect and crisp. They didn't taste soggy at all. I also really like the custard in the fruit tart. It fell apart pretty easily but they have the little tray for you so it was okay. I really like everything and need to try their eclairs out next.

Bonjour, Pasadena! The pastries look and taste so divine! This place is lovely inside and outside. It's a little tiny bit of Paris on a corner street in Pasadena, CA. The service is always fabulous! They don't shy away from recommendations. I love that it is Vegan, even though I'm not vegan! I know exactly where to shop for my vegan friends around birthdays. and for myself. It wouldn't be trip without picking up a baguette .

Absolutely delicious and delightful! Everything from the nice customer service, to the ambiance it's just *chefs kiss* I've tried everything from the pastries, to the sandwich of the day, soup, and the wines at la cave! I feel truly blessed to live in a time where we have somewhere like ID-Eclair only minutes away.

What an amazing french bakery! I loved everything here and wish I lived closer so l could try it all. I came two days in a row and tried so many wonderful items. The egg sandwich was the perfect brunch bite. The pastries were fresh and delightful. The cold brew was heavenly. I haven't had tiramisu in a long time but their tiramisu was paradise in a cup. It was so good it was hard to believe it was vegan. The decor and seating are cute and the staff warm and friendly. If you're in the area, this is a must visit!

    Mushroom tart
    Sharona M.

So happy to have found this amazing vegan bakery! It is truly a wonder when you go in. I found it very try difficult to choose because everything looked so wonderful! The staff was very helpful and we ended up choosing a savory mushroom tart, spinach quiche and a piece of focaccia. The quiche was amazing and made with their in house egg substitute! The mushroom tart was also incredible with perfectly laminated dough and texture! The focaccia was not good. The dough recipe needs to be perfected because it was heavy, dense and under cooked. This is a super easy fix. I hope they will look into that. The inside is super cute and shares a space with a wine bar next door so you can eat inside or outside. The outside area is nice and covered but it's on the street and has VErY uncomfortable chairs. The kind that dig into your legs. They use super cute mismatched plates and tea cups which add to the whimsy. Overall amazing place! Definitely recommend!

ID-eclair is awesome and they're as good as any of the trending bakeries in Pasadena, but without the long lines. They are tucked away on Green Street on the corner of Pasadena Ave. Check them out next time you're in Old Town.

I'm so excited to come here again, so many beautiful looking pastries and treats I want to try. The "Egg" Sandwich and fresh pressed orange juice is what I ordered in and I got the strawberry tart to go! The sandwich was really good and I loved that it came with a side salad.

No parking, way too busy, way too full to seat us, a line bursting out the door, the tiny bakery cafe still seduced us. That is, Mr B circled the block in the car but pushed me out to get in line. It was the idea of a flaky, buttery, chocolate croissant crumbling all over his shirt that made him do it. And I had no intention of saying no. The line went quickly. The last Kouign Amann had just escaped my clutches to the guy in front of me, darn it. But there were still trays upon trays of freshly baked, massive chocolate croissants displayed in their custom, wood display case right next to the register. Sorry about no pictures, but you know how things get out of hand sometimes. However if you want to experience an orgasm in pastry form, I suggest you high tail it here.

A good croissant should have some elasticity lacking here. - Pain au chocolat: quite large with maybe too much chocolate. But the flavor was on point. I liked it but my wife thought the extra chocolate was too much of the good thing. She reminded me that in the pain au chocolat in France, you actually feel the chocolate under the tooth at each bite. Between the two, I would get the plain croissant next time. Final thoughts: These pastries are more expensive than in other places( pain au chocolat for almost $7 and croissant for $5.5). Would I come back: yes to get the plain croissant.

We chose outdoor since it was such a nice day out. They have all of their desserts on display in the case, so you can peruse the options and see what looks good. So many of the desserts looked good, like the matcha yuzu chiffon crepe cake or the rose and lychee crepe cake. We ordered via the kiosk and got the mango sunshine souffle pancake ($16.50) and well as a couple drinks. My drink was the white peach lemon jasmine bliss ($6.25), with 50% sweetness and less ice. Even though there are signs everywhere saying that it takes 15-20 minutes for the souffle pancakes to be cooked, ours came out super quickly, in 5 minutes or so. We got it with the sauce on the side, but I regret doing that as I saw others getting it with the sauce on top and it was beautiful. The pancake was super fluffy and a bit eggy as well. We all really enjoyed it with the mango sauce. I made the mistake of eating the pancake first before trying a sip of my tea. The pancake was pretty sweet, so I could barely taste my drink, but I think it was good? I could taste a bit of the lemon but definitely not the white peach, which is a lighter flavor. I got a slice of their Hokkaido cheese cake roll for $7 to go and had it the next day. It was okay but definitely a bit pricy for what you get. I'd love to come back to try their other desserts and pancakes!

The cafe itself was pretty small with 3 small tables, 1 big table, and bar seatings with charging ports. The bathroom was closed and it was really warm inside. I couldn't see myself studying or staying too long, which may be for the best since parking is tricky and street parking has a 2 hour limit. An okay experience, but I don't see myself coming back.
