    Strawberry Tart
    Gabrielle G.

I'm so excited to come here again, so many beautiful looking pastries and treats I want to try. The "Egg" Sandwich and fresh pressed orange juice is what I ordered in and I got the strawberry tart to go! The sandwich was really good and I loved that it came with a side salad.

Walking in I was greeted in French and the staff was super friendly and patient as I took my time looking through all the shelves of pastries they had. The interior is super pretty and they had a gorgeous neon sign. Also love the bread shelf they had. If I didn't just buy bread before this I would've wanted to buy all of it. Now as for the pastries I got, I tried their fruit tart, macarons, and the chef special strawberry croissant cube. Everything is so delicious and not too sweet. I like how fresh all the fruits are. The macarons were perfect and crisp. They didn't taste soggy at all. I also really like the custard in the fruit tart. It fell apart pretty easily but they have the little tray for you so it was okay. I really like everything and need to try their eclairs out next.

    Mushroom tart

So happy to have found this amazing vegan bakery! It is truly a wonder when you go in. I found it very try difficult to choose because everything looked so wonderful! The staff was very helpful and we ended up choosing a savory mushroom tart, spinach quiche and a piece of focaccia. The quiche was amazing and made with their in house egg substitute! The mushroom tart was also incredible with perfectly laminated dough and texture! The focaccia was not good. The dough recipe needs to be perfected because it was heavy, dense and under cooked. This is a super easy fix. I hope they will look into that. The inside is super cute and shares a space with a wine bar next door so you can eat inside or outside. The outside area is nice and covered but it's on the street and has VErY uncomfortable chairs. The kind that dig into your legs. They use super cute mismatched plates and tea cups which add to the whimsy. Overall amazing place! Definitely recommend!

How lucky am I to live in a timeline with ID-Eclair? I've enjoyed their desserts at vegan street market pop ups and decided that Valentine's Day was the perfect time to stop in their brick and mortar for some treats. It's a sweet set up, with plenty of indoor and outdoor seating. There's a massive pastry window to entice you as you wait ~ if there's a line, there definitely was for Valentine's Day ~ with grab-and-go gift and drink options on the side (truffles, chocolates, jams, housemade butter). Everything looked so good when we arrived that we decided to get savory food and treats. Grilled Cheese: I can't resist a grilled cheese. Three layers of flavorful vegan/ plant based cheeses gooey between two gorgeous pieces of charcoal loaf bread, and a side of delicious fresh arugula salad. This was exactly what you'd want from a grilled cheese but the most elevated version, at a super fair price. I'll be dreaming about this. I just wish they had a consistent tomato soup on because I can't resist a dip! Egg Sandwich (daily special): crispy bread loaded with housemade tofu (I believe) egg scramble, mixed greens, tomatoes, and delicious sauce. Side salad on the side. Love how many greens and protein is in this. Extremely elevated. Bread is buttery goodness. Pistachio Eclair: yes please. I could drink the filling. All you'd ever want from a pistachio pastry. Almond Croissant: crispy, buttery, nutty goodness. Highly recommend. Chef Special "Love" Eclair: delicious berry goodness. Fresh and sweet and satisfying, sandwiched between an exquisite macaroon Cortadito: like a flat white, DELICIOUS! The coffee is strong and though I drink fast, it seemed to last forever. Creamy, strong coffee punch flavor. The staff works so hard, I'm in awe of the pace they keep up and the quality of ingredients, flavors, and service. There's plenty of seating for a constantly rotating customer base and the street side chairs and tables and open door make it feel like a warm and inviting patisserie. This is great for a pre-order, pickup, delivery, friends-gathering, date, treat run, or simply a coffee pickup in the morning. I love it and can't wait to go back.

ID-eclair is awesome and they're as good as any of the trending bakeries in Pasadena, but without the long lines. They are tucked away on Green Street on the corner of Pasadena Ave. Check them out next time you're in Old Town.

    Tea party
    Mariza R.

This is what vegan dreams are made of! On our first visit we had the tea party and it was a great experience and great way to try many items on their menu! Our favorites were the mushroom soup and raspberry pastry. The tea was also perfect and it felt like a special treat. Will look forward to returning every time I'm in the area.

Clever name. Regrettably, I Declare this is not the best eclair I've ever had. Maybe it's because I came near closing (4pm), the pistachio and chocolate eclairs were dry and not fresh at all, so disappointing (also the pistacho tastes more minty than pistchio.) Will probably go back one early morning to try their drinks and other pastries.

Chefs sandwich of the day, danish, hot chocolate (French style) and a lychee raspberry tart!
    Kunaal K.

Honestly the best pastries in town. It doesn't even taste vegan. But being vegetarian for over 26 years, this is the best spot in Pasadena!! Get their sandwiches of the day and you won't be disappointed. The chef is so French and always has his chef hat on. Highly recommend!!!

The vegan eclair we got was so delicious, flavorful and decadent! The service was amazing. So super helpful with our questions and packed all our pastries into our box carefully and well. The ambiance was chill and lounge.

4/5: fully vegan bakery? Say less! ID Eclair is simply the vegan bakery all the plant based foodies out in LA have been waiting for. They have a spread of savory items, decadent desserts, soups, sandwiches, teas, and coffees. For our birthdays, my also plant based bestie and I celebrated with a full spread of baked goods. We got their soup, grilled cheese sandwich, teas, and sweets (see pictures below), and all together our total came up to ~$90 post tax and tip for the both of us. Service was rather quick for all that we ordered. My favorite item was probably their tarts, but I definitely would not order the grilled cheese again. This would definitely have been a five star review, but possibly because we had all these in one go, it felt a little too greasy and heavy on the stomach. Still, I'm certain that non plant based eaters would find ID Eclair's food tasty as well, and if they didn't know, I'd suspect that many wouldn't have guessed that everything was vegan. Overall, I'd happily stop by again to pick up some delicious baked goods when I'm feeling a hankering for sweets or savory breads! Everything else: Parking in Old Town Pasadena can be rather difficult so plan accordingly. The store is kept well lit, clean, and decorated with modern aesthetics. It's a nice space but fills up quickly. There's also a bar in the back with additional seating.

All of these upper shelves are gluten free!
    Helen A.

This place is a miracle. So many gluten free options! A full case (minus the Napoleon's) and 5 shelves of take home wonder. They not only have loads of options but the food is wonderful. I recommend the chocolate eclair. Can't wait to come back for afternoon tea service. Also, the are dog friendly and the whole feel of the place is friendly, relaxed and yet still, upscale.

    Raspberry Croissant
    KK H.

My new obsession is the Raspberry Croissant. I'd get new item which is Cream brûlée Cruffin. The service is always great here & fast. Lovely vibe in the store. I go every week now. Can't stop going there even though I practice intermittent fasting so I can't eat it right away most of the time when I visit there.

    Dense macaron.
    Christina C.

The customer service is sublime! If you're having a bad day, come here to cheer up. The coffee is great, maybe the best thing on the menu?! The Napoleon was delicious with a flaky crisp pastry. The eclairs are a bit stodgy, in the words of Paul Hollywood. The cream in the pistachio one tasted a bit artificial. The macarons are a bit dense, not airy as you'd expect. Once I get to try the croissant, I think I can decide for sure how I feel about this vegan bakery.

I would have preferred for it to have some kind of spice that lacked too. The drumsticks were the main item I visited for and they were good; however, they were on dowels vs. sugar cane... just a different vibe, not a deal breaker. Two issues with my visit here: 1. asked for a sweet chili sauce, but it has no chili in it, just a sugary sauce AND when I got my bill I was charged extra for the sauce but no mention of this when I ordered it. I have no issue paying for extra sauces 1. If the sauce is worth a hoot and 2. Awareness that I'm paying for it. Prices are a little high for the quality of food. The parking lot is a little undersized for the amount of businesses in the little strip mall area. One MAJOR complaint and issue 2. They claim the restroom is out of order (which I saw on previous reviewers posts, which was over 1 month ago)... idk how a business can operate without a restroom for customers. I get emergency situations, but how have they gone this long without a working restroom for customers? To make this situation even worse, it doesn't appear they have any neighboring businesses to partner with on this issue because if you need the restroom they tell you to go across the street to Trader Joe's. Next time I'm in the area, I'll just grab something from TJ's to eat and not worry about dining at My Vegan.

The ice cream itself was plain vanilla soft serve, but when sandwiched by two entire chocolate chip cookies, I think the sweetness can be overpowering. Keep in mind that it also melts very fast (since it has the consistency of soft serve) and this makes it hard to keep the whole sandwich in shape. It's the perfect shareable meal and worth every single penny. It's been a minute since I wrote a review, but these guys deserve the love. The photos I snapped don't do the chicken, salad, or any of the fixings justice, but trust me: if you're hunting for some of the best herb-roasted chicken in town, Kismet is a must-try. The name fits the vibe perfectly--meant to be. I'm picky about rotisserie/herb-roasted chicken and always benchmark against heavy hitters: Mi Piace's Prezzemolo (still my all-time favorite), the long-gone Lemon Herb Roasted Chicken from Cheesecake Factory's heyday, and more recently, Verde in Costa Mesa's killer Lemon & Sumac half chicken (easily top 3). Kismet's half chicken holds its own in that elite group. It's juicy, tender, and packed with bright Mediterranean flavor--a healthier, more refined take on the classic Zankou Chicken style I've loved forever. What pushes it over the edge for me is the quality: free-range, non-GMO, antibiotic-free, air-chilled, and raised right here in California. Bottom line: Kismet belongs on any serious "greatest herb-roasted chicken" list (at least mine). If you haven't tried it yet, go fix that. Highly recommend.

I didn't want to write this review. I used to love Kismet. I tend to go on Thursday early…read moreafternoons. I had 2 other experiences prior to this where the chicken seemed off but I kept trusting it would be as good as it when I first had Kismet when it first opened back in March 2025. On May 7th, 2026 at 3:30 PM I ordered for pickup my usual meat and potatoes plate. Weirdly, the order was ready for pickup in a couple of minutes when usually it would be ready in 10 minutes which would have been less sketchy. I should have trusted my instincts. I walked in to pick up my order and there were zero customers around, usually there are a few customers eating at the tables. Sign that the quality has dwindled and the regulars aren't retuning. I get back home to treat myself (I spent $28 for the meal plus a drink.) Much to my dismay I opened the plate and was so disappointed. It was half of what normally comes in the box but the potatoes were stacked high and of course extremely oily. I was like ok let's just eat this because I don't have more time to find another place to get food plus I've already splurged. The chicken was undercooked and rubbery and came with no chicken breast like it normally does just some boney legs. Since I was so hungry and paid the extra money for "light" chicken I still ate it. I'm sick now, the night of May 8th I'm still on the toilet. Save your money and go to Zankou if you want good rotisserie chicken they've been doing it right in LA since the 80s. Or Costco; 5$ chicken unless you want a $32 dollar chicken here to make you and your family sick and poor.
