Blue Jasmine Matcha was so good
    Christy C.

Ordered Doordash since there's a promo - 25% off orders $12+! There's a good variety of matcha/coffee drinks and food items. Love that they make their syrups in-house and they offer sugar and ice adjustments free of charge. There are milk substitutions for +$1! Got the Vanilla Latte with Easy Ice & Single Shot of Espresso ($7.50). The vanilla syrup was just the right amount of sweetness and tasted so good! The coffee was not too strong and it wasn't bitter so it was really enjoyable! I could definitely tell by the taste that they use high quality coffee beans so this is definitely a must! The Blue Jasmine Matcha Latte ($7.50) was so amazing! It's made with almond milk with butterfly pea flowers, jasmine tea, and in-house jasmine syrup. The matcha tasted very good quality and most likely handwhisked. The jasmine was so refreshing and fragrant. I really enjoyed the bits of butterfly pea flowers and the floral taste it added to the drink. Overall, I really enjoyed both my drinks and would definitely return and recommend!

I was excited to try the jasmine matcha here since I looked this place up specifically for that drink. Service was friendly and super fast, which I appreciated. The matcha itself was good and I liked that it wasn't overly sweet without having to ask for less sugar. Personally though, it tasted a little watered down compared to other matcha spots I usually go to, so it wasn't quite a "wow, I need to come back" kind of drink for me. Overall still not bad and worth trying if you like lighter matcha flavors.

Cute little coffee shop in downtown Pasadena. This has to be the best bagel breakfast sandwich I've had from a coffee shop. The bagel was soft and fresh. The bacon was perfectly crispy. The egg was fluffy. Absolutely delish!!! Can't wait to try their pastries next time. The coffee is also really good especially their chai latte. Quiet place to work or study from as well. Highly recommend this coffee shop when in Pasadena!!!

Cute coffee shop. Can get packed fast. Good service. Parking can be hard in peak time but worth it.

A nice bright coffe shop located on a business strip. This place has a nice earthy feel interior design and ample seating inside and outside for those wanting to stay and sip. The staff is nice and fast with their service. I ordered the Orange Latte which was rich, creamy, smooth, and tasty. Not too sweet, and I enjoyed every sip. I especially love the foam artwork.

Quick review since I was only in and out; I finally tried Ideology Coffee today & was pleasantly surprised by the coffee. Plenty of indoor and outdoor seating, in a quaint area of old town Pasadena. I ordered an iced hazelnut latte with soy milk, and it was 10/10. I would come back and order this again for sure. Service was okay. The barista wasn't rude but he called out my drink 3 times in a single minute while I was still trying to put my keys in my purse. I know there was a couple people in the group before me that were also waiting for drinks, but there's no need to rush me like that. I'd come back here but please don't rush people with grabbing their orders. Not everyone can move that fast or is quick on their feet.

    Ceremonial grade and delish!

Came for the matcha, stayed for the cuteness. Kind & helpful staff, cute, bright interior with some exterior patio seating. The iced blue matcha latte was dreamy and matcha-ed my expectations. (see what I did there?) Will be back!

    Cinnamon and clove latte

Cinnamon clove latte hit the spot as we waited for Motto to whip up a massive order for the group. Only I wanted coffee and after eight other espresso stops during vacation, vote Ideology an honorable mention! Jones is by far the winner but can't fault this beautiful inviting nook in old city Pasadena for warm and attractive atmosphere, nice menu, and plenty to satisfy most.

Trying to find a place around the area just for quick afternoon pick-me-up aka caffeine doze brought me to this pleasant space Ideology offered. While some other guests enjoyed showering themselves with sunlight, I'd rather peacefully staying indoor by the window sipping my coffee and people-watching. The barista was pretty nimble, getting orders ready in seconds despite being solo player for the day. My cold brew might be too acidic for my liking but I loved the spot and ambiance. Might consider going back for their Jasmine Blue Matcha!

Came here to finally try this place since I pass this place in passing all the time when I walk my dog and to stamp it off in my Pasadena Coffee Passport. Then coffee shop looks hidden to be honest. I would have never known. As I entered, the place is spacious, bright, clean, and organized We ordered: - Bacon, Egg, and Cheese with Bacon - Iced Lavender Matcha Latte - Vanilla Latte The coffee & food were amazing! The staff is are super sweet and helpful. Definitely coming back!

I really enjoyed the coffee and food here! We paid for parking since I'm used to the old town parking situation, but then I saw that they have validated free parking! Will be taking advantage of that next time. Spacious but does get a bit loud, so maybe bring headphones. Water is easily accessible. Syrups are house made! Service was great, quick, and answered my questions.

    Baroque P.

I don't get to come often but when I do I always enjoy it. It's a quiet place that serves up great coffee prepared by friendly staff. I love how "slow" time moves here. Today I choose to sit outside in the alley. I initially chose it for the quietness, then I was delighted by the history. Please see the photo of the plaque!

I got it on their jalapeno cheddar bagel which was chewy, soft yet dense, and had a bit of a kick from the jalapeños. Wasn't getting much cheese flaves tho. The pizza bagel also had a nice chewy, soft, dense bagel with a sugary tomato sauce, cheese, and pepperoni. Wake and Late has become my new go-to breakfast/lunch spot in Pasadena!…read more I discovered Wake and Late about three weeks ago, and I've already been here about 6 or 7 times! I can honestly say I'm hooked. Their burritos have become a staple for me, especially because they're not overly filling and, unlike a lot of breakfast burritos I've had, they don't leave me feeling super bloated afterward. I keep my burrito pretty basic since I don't like meat in my burrito. I usually get egg, cheese, avocado, and tater tots, and it's SO good. I did try adding the refried beans once, and the first time they were delicious. Unfortunately, the second time they tasted a little off, so now I just stick with my usual order without the beans. And let's talk about the iced coffee! This is probably one of my favorite things here. I work in the area and parking in Pasadena can be a nightmare, so I usually walk about 15 minutes from work. By the time I get here, especially on a hot day, I'm completely overheated and that iced coffee hits the spot every single time. Definitely recommend getting one! The service has also been consistently great. Everyone I've interacted with has been kind and friendly, and the whole operation is really efficient. I also love their app. If it's your first time and you download the app, you get $10 off, which I thought was a great incentive. You also earn rewards with your purchases that you can use toward future orders, and I really appreciate that. Those little perks go a long way! My only complaints are the prices for add-ons. I think $2.50 just to add refried beans is a little steep, especially when you're already purchasing a burrito. Bacon being $4 is also on the pricey side. I don't mind paying typical Pasadena prices, but I do think some of the add-on costs could be more reasonable. Overall, though, I really enjoy Wake and Late and it has quickly become my go-to breakfast/lunch spot when I'm working in the area. Great burritos, AMAZING iced coffee, friendly employees, and a really efficient operation. Their packaging/logo is very nice also. I definitely recommend checking them out and get the iced coffee!

They blocked out a lot of spaces behind the counter and there were limited seating spaces. It was also hard to hear when they call your name for the order. I think it's better if we can get a text message when the order is ready. Overall, it was nice and definitely will go back again.

Herby mayo, hot sweet peppers had a hint of spice, pastrami was soft and not too salty, egg was fluffy. It was a good bagel sandwich. However, I don't think I'd reorder this. LATKE Crispy and savory. The sourcream and apple sauce together was delicious. Absolutely loved the apple sauce, which had a beautiful texture and sweetness that was addictive. The star was the applesauce! SALT BAGEL, EVERYTHING BAGEL, CACIO E PEPE, EVERYTHING PUMPERNICKEL BAGEL All of the untoasted bagels except the Cacio e Pepe, had a firm outer texture, a bit hard to tear apart with hands. Inside the bagels were dense, yet had a light chewy texture and not dry either. Toasted, they were even better. The outer crust was beautifully crispy and the inside bagel was soft and chewy. The beet cream cheese was delicious with all the bagels! Cacio e Pepe was soft all around, unlike the other bagels. Cacio e Pepe had a light cheese and black pepper crust. It wasn't full of cacio e pepe flavor right off the bat, but still enough to know what you're eating. If you ate only the top bagel, I think you'll get the best of this bagel. Still good all around, even toasted. I think it will be great as a bagel sandwich. Everything Pumpernickle had a good pumpernickle flavor in addition to the everything seasonings. They did not skimp on the seasonings! Every inch of that bagel was covered in seasonings! Favorite Bagels: Salt Bagel, Everything Bagel BEET CREAM CHEESE Delicious! Smooth, creamy, almost buttery! This is whipped cream cheese with roasted beet puree. Light in beet flavor, it had dill in it too. I was hesitant in getting a tub because it was on the pricier side. But it was so good, glad I got it! SEATS / AMBIANCE It had a lovely East Coast diner feel when walking in. But still, the space felt a bit cluttered. There were booths, counter seats and outdoor seats too. It was packed inside on a Wednesday lunch. Got there before noon. CUSTOMER SERVICE Overall good, friendly service. Staff was smiling and that's always a good thing! Went on a Wednesday before noon, but it was nearly packed. PARKING Horrible. Just horrible. Street parking only. There's a few spots directly in front of Belle's, but it's metered parking too and also it was full. It's parking that always makes or breaks your experience when driving to LA. After driving around to find a decent parking spot, I finally found one close to Belle's, but after parking, I realized it was a loading zone. So hurried to get my food to go and just ate in the car. Overall, I enjoyed the bagels here and would love to return for their bagels and lunch offerings.

Our to-go order included extras like French Toast bagel that comes with syrup. Hot drinks like cappuccino and ceremonial matcha also made it into our cart. Everything was beyond better than any bagel we've had. The hype is nothing to shrug off. Articles written about this establishment are posted around. They even have a flyer like handout that you can take that tells the story. It was a crowded place for sure. Locals were pouring in for all the.good things. Atmosphere is very casual, relaxed with high and low tables inside and plenty of patio seeding outside. Parking could be challenging. There is an underground parking area with limited parking. Aside from that, street parking is hit and miss. Ordering is managed through the touch screen available at the front. The staff is very helpful and friendly and able to answer questions.
