This a great place to stop for some handheld foods and wonderful ambiance. The chicken wings were delicious. Minus some points for only having drums and no flats (they're my favorite) and only ranch (no blue cheese :/). However, the buttermilk ranch did the trick and went well with the chili-maple dry rub. My girlfriend's Reuben was "very good but was a little dry." The Vermont cheddar fritters were the perfect combination of crispy and gooey. If you are Gluten Free like us, they do not mark things gluten free on their menu BUT they do have GF bread which is not stated on the menu! read more

This place is so good that I came back the next day. The decor is fresh and clean. Eclectic furniture and I love the gray and black tones. We had the smoked Gouda soup that was amazing. Their beverages are top notch. We had the wings with the sweet and spicy rub. The wings were amazing. They are really not Spicy and that was what I was going for. We ordered the pumpkin spice salad but unfortunately was too full to eat it so we took it to go and sadly did not eat it. The presentation was amazing. The shaved prime rib sandwich comes in focaccia roll but they graciously placed in on a brioche top as I do not like focaccia. It melted in your mouth! We had the fun guy burger and pub burger with cheddar and bacon. The fun guy burger was slightly under seasoned w lack of salt. My fav was the pub burger. Donut holes for dessert w ice cream was also yummy. I wasn't in the mood for beer but they off a great selection of their brewed beers and flights. This is my new favorite place to eat in Stowe. Walked in around 6 pm and got seated immediately and just beat the rush. Food lacked flavor, staff was busy and it's not that we needed to be checked on more often but it did seem like our waitress was managing a lot! If you need to eat here because it's the only option, go but it's not really worth it. read more

If you want to pay $31 for 3 pretzel bites and 6 wings this is your place to go. They don't clean any tables at all, we had to clean off our own table to even sit. Absolutely no hospitality didn't seem like they wanted us there. They gave my food and the tables food next to us each others food then proceeded to take it back and swap it. An excellent ambiance, slowish service, and average food made my visit to Idletyme exactly what I was looking for on a lackadaisical Wednesday afternoon. I dined stag and chose the bar seating for my day trip in Stowe. The bartender was super prompt - my cider was available right away - but on the other hand the food took what felt like 20 minutes. I had a simple order of a fried fish sandwich and greens. Like, can't you slam that out? The sandwich itself was average. The fried cod was obviously from a freezer by way of flavor, and as far as I could tell, the tartar sauce was just mayo. The salad was heavily dressed and super acidic. Either the chef was trying for balance against the cod umami, or they just wanted it that way. All in all, for a weekday in ski country when skiing hasn't quite yet started up, I got what I wanted to keep the mood going. read more

Came here after hiking Mt Mansfield. It did the job of getting us seated and filling us up after a long hike, but it was nothing special. My husband and I agreed it was not a good call. But most places weren't opened yet for dinner (we went around 3:20 PM). Food was good but nothing spectacular. My husband got a burger and I got the chili, which was recommended by our waitress. Both okay. The cheddar fritters were good but heavy. All in all, we got good food but wish we would've spent our time, money, and meal elsewhere. read more

We had to ask multiple times for forgotten drinks, side plates and appetizers to be brought out and at the end of the meal we had to ask for an itemized receipt which already included tip, which the waitress failed to mention. Overall not a great dining experience but maybe I'd go for carryout or just opt to buy their beer in a store. read more

This was a cute and friendly brewery that we tried during our first day visiting Stowe. All of the staff was really friendly. We sat down immediately as it was around 2pm on a Friday. It was definitely starting to get busy though. Parking lot is always packed when we would drive by. It was a little chilly, but the outdoor area looked really nice. Inside was cozy. We ordered some beers and a flight. I loved all of their beers! The Helle's beer was our favorite-we drank this multiple times throughout the weekend and they offer it at a lot of places nearby too. Perfect light beer. We ordered a pretzel and cheese fritters. The pretzel and beer cheese were really good and perfect to share. The fritters were okay. I wasn't crazy about the sauce. Comfort food that really hits the spot! Come hungry and leave super satisfied at Idletyme. Seriously, this was a really pleasant experience. Drove several hours to get to Stowe and wanted something casual but filling. This place fit the bill. Skipped the brews tonight but I can definitely vouch for selection! The menu boasted many home made brews so take your pick! Perhaps we will circle back to get a sampling. I opted for the fried fish sandwich while my mom went with the French onion soup. Both items wowed us! The cheese atop the soup was some of the best my mom claims to have ever had. Upon tasting I can see why! My fish sandwich was another slam dunk. The portion size was just perfect. The fish was lightly fried but still visibly fish-I hate when I get all breading and no meat. Yummy pickles and tartar sauce rounded it out. Dessert consisted of AMAZING fried donut holes with strawberry sauce for dipping. Basically a deconstructed jelly donut. It was a great way to end a meal. The holes were hot and crispy but light in texture. I was licking my fingers. Great service in a comfy setting! Stop here while in Stowe. Had a great suprise 80th birthday party for my mother here. The staff was most accommodating making sure the table was perfect (and with some flowers!), arranged to have higher chairs with arms so Mom could easily manage herself getting up. They took pictures, and brought them lovely meals and desserts. It was great. The staff brought skill, and sweetness to their work, moving things along appropriately without feeling rushed. It's Christmas Eve, and we're traveling from Alabama, so maybe this was to be expected, but service was absolutely terrible. We had reservations, but were early, so we went to the bar and it was welcoming and engaging. We should have stayed at the bar but were seated earlier than expected. As we were being seated, another table asked to switch tables. We then "lost" our table and then had to wait as the "new" table was cleaned. This is where everything went wrong. We never saw a server until we asked for a server 15 minutes later. Apparently there was confusion about who had the table. Then... we never got water until we asked, my husband's burger came out covered in mayo after he asked for no mayo and my mushroom pasta (I ordered with chicken) came out with a cold side of chicken on the pasta. The poor guy that got stuck with us seemed to be "helping" the buffalo plaid guy that was covering every other table around us. We were literally waving our arms over our heads for any service. On a positive, our server brought our daughter soda water for a stain, but other than that, it was all really disappointing. read more

I failed to scout a lunch stop ahead so I had trouble deciding on the fly but went with Idletyme Brewing and so glad I did! The interior is very cute, kind of a chic brewery feel with giant cow hide decorated benches and dark wood tables. It's a very nice ambiance. I was thrilled with my burger, cooked perfectly to temp. Great flavorful toppings. Fries were perfectly cooked and extra delicious with the garlic aioli to dip. Service was a bit perfunctory but adequate. Definitely not overly friendly. Wow this is a follow up review to the one place on 6/14. We went to idyletime to give their new ownership a second chance after a rough experience before. Everyone can have a bad night so let's try again. So we ordered drinks and we having a good time, Corey the server was fantastic. Then as we were ordering ,our first patron ordered a burger it was then it went sideways.Corey informed us that they were out of burgers, mind you that's 30% of their menu. He was great and understood that we were a little befuddled. We then went next door to Piecasso for the second night in a row. They were fantastic. We will never go to idyltime again. read more

Herb chicken sandwich was great 3 years ago, served on a true brioche bun which was large enough to slice and it was so flavorful.. today it is served on a 'small' hamburger`size bun and is flavorless. My salad with asparagus and carrots sounded delicious but was so salty I could not finish it. The roasted chicken was not fully cooked, the bacon mac and cheese had so much salt I had to spit it out. What happened?? New ownership? New chef? Whatever it is we will not be returning. read more

What a cute place. It's open later than many other places in the area, so that's a plus. Nice big parking lot too. There's plenty of seating indoor and out, with a fire pit outside as well. Servers were great. Got pretzels (sticks) with a really nice mustard sauce (whole grain, but sweet) and beer cheese sauce, and a Reuben on a brioche bun. I'm super happy; the meat wasn't too salty, a good amount of sauerkraut, and a nice spicy mustard. Pickle on the side was juicy and a proper dill pickle, not a sweet pickle. Add in a nice local hard cider, I was stuffed. Great place for lunch or dinner. read more

We made a reservation and got seated right away when we arrived. We got a nice socially distanced table inside. We loved our meal. The butternut squash ravioli was outstanding..creamy, well seasoned, tender, al dente. My fish dish was also delicious. Moist on the inside, nicely cooked on the outside. I was not a big fan of the sticky rice side....a bit too strong for my taste. Their microbrews are also very well known and we enjoyed them very well. Prices are fair and the setting is very nice. Definitely call for a reservation, even if it's last minute. I called 30 minutes before arriving, and only had to wait a few minutes last Sunday afternoon to be seated once I arrived. Due to COVID, many breweries in the area are not serving flights, we were excited they were offering their Brew Board sampler which got us 10 tastes! Two of the pours were unavailable, but they had substitutions - one of which ended up being my favorite (Citizen Cider Dirty Mayor - ginger and apple). My husband's favorite was the Weizen Sour. I also had the Chicken BLT with melted Cabot cheese, garlic aioli, and fries. Delicious! Service was fast and attentive. read more
