I called several places, but Alex was the first to respond. Over the coming days, as the callbacks came in, I was told that I'd need to schedule a consultation. In contrast, Alex asked if he could stop by that day or the next. Due to a hectic schedule, I asked a friend to be at the house. Alex was very flexible to coordinate with my stand-in. While I was away, knowing I was unable to talk, Alex texted me pictures of the problem and let me know he'd return shortly (something had frozen solid, so it needed t thaw). When he was done, he texted me that the unit was not leveled properly, and it would probably become a problem in the future. I opted not to have it fixed at that time. My bad. Jump ahead to this year... The AC stopped working again this summer. I called Alex on Sunday of Memorial Day weekend, and he got right back to me, offering to come Monday (Memorial Day) morning. Again, I scheduled for a stand in, and Alex made himself available right away. He observed something simple and fixed it right away. He also did a full system check up to make sure all levels were fine and everything was working properly. A few weeks later, there was a completely different problem. It related to the system sitting off-kilter. At this point, he offered a fairly expensive fix, but he said it may work or it may be more of a band aid, as the system will need to be replaced in the coming years anyway because 1) it's run its course, and 2) the type of system will become obsolete in 2020. I was skeptical, so I called my brother who is a contractor in Central PA and has a good HVAC guy. That HVAC guy does work all over the east coast, so he'd have some sense of what's what in Philadelphia. He gave some numbers and ideas, and said that Alex was spot-on with his estimate and the info about the system being obsolete in 2020. Alex was all booked up for the week, so he offered to make the quick fix Monday morning at no cost to hold the system over until he was available the following week to replace the unit. Due to a cancelation, he was able to come today. In addition to the normal work, he had to remove a banister to get the unit to the basement, then he found some 60 gallons of water had condensed and filled some part of the unit, and then he built up an area to make sure the new unit was balanced. He did so much extra work, and then he cleaned it all up. AND THEN, because I was at work, he was able to stop by my workplace on his way home for me to pay him. Really incredible work, incredible availability, and incredible communication. And my brother's guy said he was surprised that the price was as low as it was for being in the city. I expect Alex will get too busy for all of that in the near future, but he's my go to now, and I know I can trust him. Further, he's just really nice. I have enjoyed our communication, and I'm really happy to direct business his way.

They connected the humidifier to the water line with a saddle valve which started leaking. I found my newly redone finished basement flooded two weeks after the install, they came and replaced the valve with what appears to be the proper install, but told me the water damage is my problem! I provided receipts for the one year old carpet and vinyl floor that has to be replaced, they refused to take responsibility and now I'm out around $10k and the basement is a mess!

The woman on the phone assured us that they do. The first thing the hvac gentlemen said is "we don't really work on these oil heaters". When i said to him that we specifically asked the woman about it he told us "she's just dispatch". We were told that the soot needed to be cleaned(over $2700), they may need to remove the wall to do it which would cost more, and they don't replace the wall if they take it down. Then after all of that, they would be able to diagnose what is actually wrong with the heater, if its something more than a cleaning. If you live in Levittown, don't walk...run! You might as well throw your $150 in a hole and call someone else. Benjamin Franklin came out and hour later and fixed it for $417.

I was told by another professional that the line was leaking coolant (which was evident by the greasy like substance on the copper). Instead of addressing the root cause their tech was coming out each year to just refill the coolant. I'm sure the EPA would not be happy about coolant flowing into our local water system. We were perplexed as to why our electric bill was so high given that this is a 2 year old unit. He truly went above and beyond and probably spent way more time than is allotted for a routine service with us to figure out the problem - turns out the high density air filter we were using was causing the unit to work much harder than it should without moving much air - never would have figured this out without his help.
