Not impressed at all. First off, it's way overpriced. Just take a look at the size of the ham and cheese croissant. Are you kidding me - it's like two bites. The selection is minimal and the quiche, meh. It came with some sort of a flat wooden fork that couldn't hold the food and wouldn't cut through the crust (which by the way was burnt after they warmed it up). I think this was some sort of save the planet fork. I prefer utensils that I can eat with and if you want to save the planet, get silverware and a dishwasher. Coffee was cold. The sugar spoons to put the sugar in the coffee are literally the size of a split pea - good if you are on a diet I guess. I had to take the cover off the bowl and pour it into my cup. I don't get the rave reviews for this place. "best bakery in town"??? Not even close. read more

The buttermilk biscuit is as good as everyone says! We didn't love the croissants and sourdough bread as much, but we come back all the time for the buckwheat which is full of flavor and really hearty. The day-old bread is half off and still tastes super fresh. Customer service is very friendly. read more

I could eat Ihatov biscuits all day! The biscuits are just sweet and buttery enough that you can munch away without anything on them. Honestly, everything I've tried from this bakery is delicious. The coffee is also really good and it's ideal that they have a patio (which includes a fireplace). read more

We stopped in here on our way to the airport for a quick, early breakfast. We had beautiful, crispy croissants (chocolate and the ham & cheese) . They were both still warm and absolutely perfect. Cortado and cappuccino were great too. Service was friendly and we were easily on our way. Wish we could have tried the bread too. They all looked incredible. read more

Seriously stellar! You can smell the delicious bread and pastries through your face mask. The staff is efficient and kind. I highly recommend the mix berry scone (buttery and soft and everything I believe should be in the definition of a scone) and almost every pastry is warm because they are baking on the spot! If you like a more challah-like bread with raisin type cinnamon roll then get the cinnamon roll (but don't expect the usual Cinnabon type roll with icing). The cold brew coffee was light and delicious. I couldn't help but also get a roll of sourdough rustica which I asked to be sliced but they couldn't because it was WARM (how exciting to get fresh as you can get bread!). read more

These guys sell at the Rail yards market when it's open and I looooooove their biscuits! I would get super upset if I got there too late in the morning and they would already be sold out. They just opened up their brick and mortar last week in the building that used to be Starbucks in Nob Hill. It's super cute and they seem to be continuously busy. I've been twice since they opened and the first time I got their potato bread which was really delicious (along with biscuits of course) and today I also stalked up on biscuits for the week but also tried their cranberry and pistachio cookies which were delicious. I so wanted this place to be amazing. It had been on my bucket list for years, and today was the day I was able to fulfill it. Pulling into the parking lot, I was hit with that unmistakable aroma of BURNT. Instead of heeding the warning, I went in. Greeted with an even bigger waft of burnt bread, I should have turned on my heel, but if anything, Im am a glutton for punishment. Ordered 3 chocolate chip 'cookies' (more of a muffin top than cookie) 1 small boule of sourdough and 1 can of kombucha=$22!!!! 'Cookies' would be really good if they were actually cookies and not cake. That leaves us with the bread, the bread....the.... ummm.....bread...... I can honestly say that I have never had bread so awful that I had to spit it out mid chew. Followed with immediately 86'n the whole loaf. The only thing sour about that bread is the fact that they tried to pass it as sourdough. Also, is salt a sin here? That bread sure was in need, along with so much more. read more

I was SO excited to discover this spot today. Everything looked and smelled amazing, the bakers were pulling fresh bread out of the oven, and everyone was incredibly sweet. I was only out in pursuit of a muffin for breakfast today (and I got an out-of-this-world, morning glory muffin with fresh apple, carrot, and raisins, delicately sweet, crispy on the outside and perfectly moist on the inside), but I cannot wait to go back and try every single thing on the menu. The space was beautiful too, and I look forward to the time when post-covid normalcy returns and I can sit down at one of their tables to sip a cup of coffee and read a book. I am delighted that this spot is here to enrich the Nob Hill community and fill this lovely space which had been vacant for so long! Even though this is a scary time to go out, I felt very welcome and safe; everyone was very respectful of social distancing and people were waiting outside to ensure only a couple of clients were in the space at a time. This is a cute bakery run by a Japanese couple on Nob Hill. I'm a huge fan of their sourdough baguette. The taste, smell, and crumb is phenomenal. It's crunchy on the outside and soft and fluffy on the inside. There's these large air holes in the bread which means it had time to slowly ferment and develop flavor. Also their cinnamon roll is pretty good. I will need to try the rest of their breads and pastries. Service is good and the place looks nice. read more

I love their Buckwheat loaf. Toasted with butter on it even when it's hard as a rock is crunchy and delicious. We make open faced sandwiches with smoked tempeh piled high with homemade sauerkraut using it. It's perfectly suited for avocado toast too. read more

Fantastic baked goods, friendly service, but echoing previous mixed reviews, WHY IS THIS PLACE NOT READY WHEN THEY OPEN?! As I write this review I am still waiting after 9AM on a remaining item which I ordered when they opened at 8AM! Was told about 20 min wait, it turned into over an hour! It's great that they are so award-winning, but if you don't have your product ready when you open, it's gonna turn customers off. Perhaps it's our fault for getting there at 3:10. The only thing left to eat were a number of burnt cinnamon rolls. (Why would a bakery serve burnt rolls?) We ordered one out of hunger because they only make sandwiches until 1)( burnt pastry which we couldn't finish. We didn't finish our coffees either because the cortados we ordered were really lattes. ( why ask the staff to make them correctly when they obviously were intent on cleaning up and leaving to go home) $13.00 down the drain. Why do restaurants do that? They say they're open until 3:30 but at 3:10 I guess we were considered intruders. They were sweeping up all around us. We were obviously in the way. Another restaurant where the customer comes last. I've never been the type of person who goes to the bakery every week to buy bread. Now I am. Because this bread is soooo delicious and so much better than anything I can find at the grocery store. I also like how they offer day old bread for half off. I've tried a lot of their breads this way. Nothing beats it fresh out of the oven though! All of the breads are amazing so it's really hard to choose which one is my favorite. The sourdough pear is unique and surprised me with its flavor. I definitely recommend it. The buttermilk biscuits are soft and slightly sweet, which is great for biscuits and gravy. You can't go wrong with Ihatov. read more

I visited this bakery on 9/24/2023, Sunday, about 8:42AM. I drove from Phoenix, to try Baguette. I was disappointed since it tasted NOT FRESH. Texture and Crumb-Sizes are OK. I prefer slightly more salty: but it is subjective. Italian Ciabatta was awful (sorry!) The center is too dense. Only very edges have open crumbs; but not enough. Rustic Sourdough was highly recommended by some reviewers online. It was good. Nice Crumbs, Very moist in center. It was fresh enough. Croissant (plain) was good. Chocolate Croissant was good. I imagine these bread are made of abundant butter. Butter tastes different from regular butter. It is not any better nor worse than regular butter: it is just different. Since Croissants were very fresh from oven, center was extra-soft. I liked it. (Some seem to like harder texture; but soft texture is nice, too.) The receipt showed mix berry scone; but what I got was lemon scone (the same price.) The lemone scone was really good. It was much better than any scones that I tried in the past. Although artisan hard bread that I bought were disappointing, I sliced up on the same day, froze them, toasted them with cheese, and made sandwiches. They were great for sandwiches. I wish I could taste them fresh from oven. read more

Needed a quick pick me up and chose the generous cinnamon bun and coffee. The bun has an unusually light texture reminiscent of pan dulce from a Mexican bakery and it was lightly sweetened with some bits of buttery apple and brown sugared/cinnamon nuts. The coffee was properly stout and a nice contrast to the bun. I ate inside near the fireplace and sat on a beautifully refinished wooden chair, admired the tree on the patio out front and ogled the breads which deserve to be in an oil painting. I love this place and everyone is so friendly and kind. The bread and pastries are amazing....they just are NEVER ready. Lol. When you come at opening time, they don't have anything. Not they sold out fast. Everything is still baking. It's beyond frustrating. Just start baking earlier. Isn't that what bakeries do?? Or open later? I don't know. I would have loved to give a higher rating for this bakery, but I'm not quite sure why the don't have any Salt, pepper or gluten free items. So I can understand the gluten-free items because it's a bakery and gluten-free items are a specialty so I fully understand that. But who doesn't allow their customers to have salt and pepper? And then the one item that they carry green chili and was a croissant which three times I have been in there to get and every time it is not out of the oven yet. The people are nice the quiche is delicious just very much lacking in salt. And I like a little bit of pepper on my eggs. so I would like to see changes for that just so the bakery might get higher ratings and people can understand what they're getting. Most people would want salt for their eggs I even asked if they would get some from the back and they simply don't give it out. They don't carry packets salt pepper shakers or anything. So there's that I hope they read this and don't take offense to anything because it is a place I would like to frequent more even though I do not live anywhere near here when I do come to Albuquerque I really do enjoy the food. I just won't be ordering any more quiche until salt and pepper and hopefully green chili is an option it's a beautiful little place and the bread is just picture perfect. read more

This is a special place with fantastic food. Albuquerque, and Nob Hill in particular, is lucky to have Ihatov here in town. They do what they do very well, and that is bake bread! It's delicious. The finest almond croissants, fruit tarts and sourdough breads I have had the pleasure to eat. Friendly and efficient service only makes this place more love able. Please take time out of your day to discover this treasure. There is nothing on the menu that will disappoint. Delicious Coffee and tea are available as well. Before I tasted the mixed berry scones at IHATOV, I thought my favorite booth at the farmer's market in Madison Wisconsin made the best scones. Now, I'm not so sure. I will certainly return to IHATOV the next time I am in Albuquerque to conduct more "taste tests"! Comparing berry scone to berry scone, the Madison booth lost. They bake pumpkin, lemon/poppy-seed, chocolate chip and other flavors though.... game on! read more

This is the best bread in the city. We have been fans of their bread since finding them at the downtown farmer's market last year. It is clear they love what they do and you taste that love in the bread they make- there is nothing like it. I am so happy this wonderful family opened this bakery- now we don't have to wait until the Farmer's Market is open! I agree with the other reviewer.
