The food at IHOP here in Agoura Hills, on Kanan Road, always hits the sweet spot for me. This is the location I used to come to for so many Sunday breakfasts with my family when I was growing up in Agoura Hills. Going back now, even though I no longer live in the area, kind of feels like coming home. When I was younger, I was all about the pancakes with strawberries and bananas, but these days I'm more into the Chicken Fajita Omelette because that's my go-to breakfast at IHOP. This time, I ordered the chicken fajita omelette with no tomatoes (of course). For my side, I sometimes get toast, but this time I went with hash browns and a side of ranch. My son got the Happy Face chocolate chip pancake topped with strawberries and whipped cream to make the smile, along with two scrambled eggs. As for my drink, I went with coffee over ice. I don't like my coffee too sweet, so I just add a couple creamers with no sugar. The service here is always top-notch. If you need anything, just ask your server and they're always happy to help. I've never had a single issue with the service at this location. The ambience is what you'd expect from a family-friendly breakfast spot and it also it looks like any other IHOP, but because it's in Agoura Hills, it has a slightly nicer feel. Would I recommend this IHOP to anyone? Absolutely 100%. I'm pretty sure they're open 24 hours, though these days I'm never awake early enough to get there before 9 AM (especially now that I have kids). I'll definitely keep coming back to this IHOP because it feels like my home away from home and brings back great breakfast memories with the family.

Returned for breakfast and conversation with a friend. Samantha, our server, was at our table very soon after we sat down to get our drink orders. A carafe of coffee followed right after that. Then our breakfast orders. Free short stack with Yelp check in! I went with a make your own omelet (sausage and sautéed mushrooms and Jack cheese - yummm) Clean quite reasonable prices with really good service. Really good spot for breakfast/brunch. Convenient location right off the freeway. And lots of free parking.

Alondra was the best waitress ever! I was struggling to think about what I wanted and she really helped me out! She's so kind and sweet and has a great personality as well! :) Thank you so much Alondra!!! Will be coming back!

I have no HOPe for this place. I have been standing in front of the front desk for about 10 minutes, with staff cruising around, and nobody willing to help.

    After our grub!

A few weeks ago, I finally made it in for dinner for the first time, and it absolutely lived up to my expectations. I can't remember exactly which nights they serve dinner, but it's well worth planning a visit. My partner and I ordered several dishes to share, and every single one was a hit. We started with the burrata and prosciutto appetizer with pesto, which was incredible. Paired with a glass of wine, a cocktail, and the complimentary house-made salt and vinegar chips, it would make for a perfect happy hour on its own. For our entrees and sides, we ordered the half chicken, roasted carrots, and dinosaur kale salad. The chicken tasted like it had been slow-cooked all day--tender, flavorful, and perfectly prepared. The roasted carrots were outstanding, and even the kale salad felt special and thoughtfully composed. To finish the meal, we shared the sticky toffee pudding, which was one of the most memorable desserts I've had in a long time. We also tried two mocktails, both of which were creative, delicious, and fun. Sunrose continues to impress me whether I'm there for breakfast, lunch, or dinner. I'll definitely be back again and again.

As a huge mushroom fan, like my love has dumped me deep into etymological fixation, I didn't know I could become more obsessed with mushrooms. Then the portobello fries came in. Crispy. Parmesan. Goodness. I feel an addiction developing that I pray I win over. I could eat 7 of these as my last meal and die happy without the rest of my life to supplement my case. The tuna tartare wasn't my favorite but there's nothing wrong with it; the seaweed is a nice salty and textural flair, tuna is fresh and cuts through the oil on the chips. The crab cake was also delicious, you could get really tender and juicy crab flavor through it, like butter. Mini sliders were also nice, kind of dense but the au jus helps a lot with that. And the jambalaya was amazing. Creamy, tomatoey (I think?), perfectly seasoned goodness. I think the andouille sausage, shrimp, and blackened chicken are a little washed in the blend rather than adding to it, but I wont complain about an already pretty good plate of jambalaya. Our server, Daisy, was also so amazing!! I swear the food tasted better than it's ever had in previous trips either here or their Malibu/Calabasas locations, and she is the independent variable. She was checking in on us, made sure we had everything we'd ever need, sang me happy birthday, and brought me an ice cream unprompted.
