I generally leave reviews for local places that I want to succeed. I'm going to tell you right now that IHOP is a 3.5 star restaurant on its best day. But my son and his friend wanted IHOP, so I took them. The long and short is that I was interrupted mid sentence by our only so-so waitress, who pulled her lanyard from around her questionable hair and plunked it in front of me with instructions that I could leave her a review on Google while I waited for food to come out. I explained that I don't do Google. The waitress said Yelp would be great. Obligated, here is your review. Maybe don't push so hard for it, y'all. So the last time we reviewed this place was over five years ago. We finally decided to give it another try. We chose to come on a very busy Sunday morning, right after church. Parking lot was pretty full, so we thought they'd be a way. When we arrive, we were seated almost immediately, and we're greeted courteously by our server, asking us for drink orders. So far our dynamic experience today, was great. They offer a 55+ menu for breakfast and lunch. We chose two of the breakfast one that included hashbrowns and bacon and scrambled eggs and toast and the other that included pancakes. Both of the meals came out hot and fresh. The eggs were cooked well and it was a very good tiny experience. our server Jeanene, did an amazing job, and if you get a chance, ask to sit in her section, it should make the dining experience memorable. read more

We knew better. We knew better but stopped here anyway. IHOP experiences have been less than satisfactory over the years in other locations , but we decided to give the Drip operation a chance. Strategic mistake. They're no better here than Minnesota or South Dakota or wherever. First I ordered an ice tea. Waitress brings out a glass of tepid tea with NO ice. When I asked for some, she informed me that their ice machine was broken. Why didn't she tell me that to begin with? A failure of training and a serious lack of customer service attitude. We both ordered the grill item with eggs, sausage, hash browns and original pancakes. Pretty much meh across the board. Sausage lacked punch, eggs were delivered as ordered, and the hash browns were credible. The cakes, while a flavorful batter mix, sucked all the moisture out of my mouth about halfway through the chew. I didn't need a refill on coffee, which is good because I was never offered one. There are far better breakfast venues than this in Drip. Even McDonald's is a better choice. I was always excited that there was an IHOP close by, but was also always weary given the almost but not quite stellar yelp score. Well, had family in town who really wanted to hit up the hop, so figured it was going to be an experience to remember. To start off with, I will say that this IHOP sure did earn their barely two star yelp score. From the beginning, there was a long line to even put names on the wait list, because there was nobody there. Everything was very slow and the poor servers are overwhelmed (note to mgmt: invest in your business - I promise you it will pay off and expand your margins after a bit of pain). The place was an absolute disaster. Everything was filthy. To make matters even more interesting, I had a family member who actually ordered steak and eggs. Wow. haha. Anyway, all that being said, the buttermilk pancake is pretty good. So was the coffee. I think you can do better and improve the business. It's in your best interest to do so. They're literally building an active adult community right next to you. Talk about a captive recurring customer base. Just invest. I am confident y'all can turn this thing around. read more

With a gift card in hand my wife and I headed to IHOP. This location is reasonably new and near our home. It is very clean and bright. My wife ordered the World-Famous Pancake Combo and I got the Rise & Shine. I selected two over easy eggs, hash browns, 2 bacon strips & wheat toast, and coffee. The atmosphere is very friendly and the coffee tasted very good. The eggs were cooked just right and the hash browns were tasty. I enjoyed my breakfast and stated to taste my wife's plate. The pancakes were good and the scrambled eggs had great flavor. And last the bacon good as always. (2/6) read more

So short staffed. Makes for a frustrating time. If the guy doing everything (host, phone calls, waiting on tables, managing staff) is the manager, and he's tried to staff up, he should be given a raise and a medal. He's the coolest person under immense pressure that I've ever seen. If he's a manager who just doesn't want to hire, then he should be fired. If he's the owner, he should be ashamed. If this place has tried to hire and just can't get any takers, then I don't know what people are doing with their time any more. All that being said, the rest of the experience was not that bad, including the food, which was better than the oh-so-hip Snooze I visited recently. And like I said, it was almost a one man show, and he was really good (but way overworked). I counted three people total on the floor: this guy, a waitress, and a busboy. Not sure how many were in the kitchen. I had the country fried steak and eggs. Yeah, it's not homemade, but it was pretty good nonetheless. Eggs were right and everything tasty. Hash browns. If I could give the Belterra Dripping Springs location 0 stars, I would. The first time I came in I ordered a cheese omelet and got one with meat in it. Had to send it back. Today I went in and ordered a cheese omelet and stressed, just cheese and jalapeno, no meat, and no pancake filler and make the hashbrowns crispy. This waitress had a heavy accent and did not speak very clearly, but repeated back my order, indicating understanding. The waitress took my requests, then brought out my order and left. I checked the order and found ham all over it. I brought it back in and asked the server did she check my order before giving it to me and she said no. I then asked her to look at my order and tell me what is wrong with it. She looked then said, ham is on it. It's not supposed to be on it. I said, well it is up to the server to check the order before delivering it. She went on the defense and said, it is not her fault and no, it is not her job to check it. So she took the meal back to be remade. I then asked to speak to a manager, and she said the manager is only there in the a.m. Then brought my new order to me. I found it to have, against my request, the pancake filler in it, to be flavorless and the hashbrowns mostly soggy, also without flavor and uncooked. This location only has 1 server and 1 cook per shift for the whole restaurant and evidently it doesn't matter if customers are happy, only that the servers are righteous. The place was filthy!! Almost EVERY table needed to be bused. The waitstaff was walking around doing absolutely nothing, except chatting with each other and having a cup of coffee. The food was NOT edible...the broccoli was brown and sponge-like, the mashed potatoes were petrified and the veggie omelet was greasy. The service was minimal, once served our order we did not see our waitress until I had to ask another person to find her, at least 20+ minutes later; Upon her reappearance I pointed out the condition of our food and how it should NEVER have been served! She was a deer in headlights and speechless, I asked to see the manager. The manager was prompt but also speechless, when I pointed out (literally) the filthy surroundings and the pitiful excuse for what was served as food. She sheepishly apologized and a moment later, returning saying she was not charging us for anything... Although this was the right action to take in this situation; unfortunately it is inexcusable not to mention, a health code violation, to leave a restaurant unclean during business hours and continuing to serve the public!!! I soooo much wanted to recommend this place! Unfortunately I feel the management needs help and I think they are understaffed frequently. We have tried it out several time and are disappointed in the slow service each time. The food is regular and what you would expect at an IHOP, but the service is dreadful. Came around 10:30am for breakfast. There were only maybe 5 tables seated and plenty of open tables. No one was at the hostess table which was fine I figured a waitress would come. The waitresses would look at us but never came over. I still tried to give them the benefit of the doubt since I figured they are short staffed. We waited 10 minutes and neither one came over. At this point you could tell they were avoiding coming over. Finally one waitress comes over but only grabs some silverware and a menu right by the hostesses stand and walks away. She never acknowledged us. Not a hi a smile or even a "hey I'm sorry I'll be right with you" she didn't even look at us. I get take out from here a lot and I have to say, I am more than impressed every time. Steak tips were perfect, even though we ordered them well done they were somehow still tender! The burgers are all awesome; and the fries are even better! But not a big portion of fries. Some of the best fries in town. Pancakes; you can't go wrong. I wouldn't order an omelette from IHOP. They add something to the mix which makes them a little dry to my liking. Get extra cheese or something if you really need an omelette. Came in and their was no one at the hostess table. Waited 10 minutes while the hostess was cleaning tables and looking back at us a couple times, then finally sat us. Didn't ask us what we would like to drink, only a smirk on her face and sat us down. Waited 5 more minutes before the hostess told us the waitress will come soon. Finally ordered. Food came ok, but Ihop is known for it's pancakes, right? Well they were flat, not fluffy, dryish and they served on a plate I could not cut on, no space to eat. I have had the same server both times i went to this location. Juan carlos' (the server) service was trash. The absolute worst. Today when i went i waited 10 minutes before he even came to me. Then he took my order and 20 minutes later still didn't have my appetizer much less my juice or even water. Meanwhile 3 tables with 3 plus people that were seated after me already had their drinks and one had their appetizer. Mind you the same server past my table several times. Is it because it was just me?? Or is it something else? I don't know but instead of loosing my cool i just left and found another restaurant to spend my money at. First time in this new location but I've been an ihop fan for many years. First off great customer service friendly attentive and fast. I had the 55+sampler and wasn't impressed. Hard cold butter on my pancake making it difficult to spread, I think whipped would be better. Most of the food was like warm. Hash brown was like one out of a toaster. I know they are freshly opened but not very good. I'll go to Jim's down the road. Maybe it will improve with more experience. Took my wife and in-laws to breakfast. I'm surprised my wife of more than 30 years is still married to me. This is not the IHOP of my youth. The servers were very kind and helpful, but after the disaster of the food I can't help but wonder if they were being held against their will. Some background is needed. There were only two tables seated in the whole restaurant. Well under ten patrons. We all had the southwest scramble and one steak and eggs and sides of pancakes. It took over 30 minutes to get our food. Remember, only 7-8 customers!! I think the kitchen staff must have played video games on their phones for 28 minutes and then slapped the food on plates. Everyone's eggs were cold and rubbery. The pancakes were cold and tough; obviously made hours before and sitting under a heat lamp. I want my time and money back. Close to $60 for cold and bland food. I didn't say much because the servers were the bright spot of the day. This is why breakfast chains like First Watch are expanding so rapidly. Horrible customer service !! People were very rude as soon as you walked in. We have a large group , and understood with COVID we wouldn't be able to be seated together. We asked what's the max of people that would be seated per table, response was 8 people . So we asked if we could be seated in two groups to make it easier because we were a total of 14 . The server then rolled his eyes and corrected himself by saying that " the max amount of people to be seated was 6 and no one in hell is going to sit a party that big. We waited five minutes to be seated, and then 15 minutes to be waited on. (Spoiler alert- it never happened.) Another customer came in ten minutes after we were seated, sat in the booth next to us, and had his order taken promptly by the guy who originally sat us. I wish I could give no stars for this!!! Placed an online order last night. It was scheduled to be ready for pickup around 8:05pm. At 8:50pm, we were still waiting for the food to arrive. Once it arrived, the pancakes and french fries were not with the order. We had to wait another 10 minutes for the fries and pancakes. 9:02pm we finally leave and go home with what we thought was our order. At home, we realized there was no syrup for the pancakes and no gravy for the country fried steak. The cheeseburger omelette was missing the hashbrowns, the mustard, ketchup and pickles. When we called the restaurant, we were told, "come in late next week and we will fix it for you" and they hung up. Although this is a small town, word of mouth is your biggest enemy. They may have the name "IHop", but the lack of customer service and attention to detail will have them closed quickly! read more

My wife and I decided to go try to IHOP's new "Premium Steakhouse Bigger Bacon" this morning at IHOP # 3648 in Dripping Spring Texas, with unfortunately a less than desirable experience. For perspective, we were the only customers in the restaurant at approx 6:45 am on a Sunday. Our server was on her first or second day (and though she did not have much knowledge about the menu) but she did possess a good attitude. The Bigger Bacon (which is $4.50 for a side order) was 95% fat on both pieces (see photo) and I tried eating three bites, before giving up in disgust. However the worst issue was with the Store Manager. He was conducting an impromptu meeting with the (5) female servers (at the entrance to the kitchen, very much in earshot) when he said this; (word for word). "The fact that I was able to hire three of you in the past couple of weeks - was a F__king Miracle!" How anybody in business these days has the nerve to use that language around employee's (without fear of retribution) is beyond me! Needless to say, I was offended for the women (and for my wife!) We did not complain, cause a scene, nor ask for any money back - because we choose to exercise our disappointment, by not repeating our business. Our attitude is; if IHOP allows/condones that from Management, then IHOP is not the type of place we will choose to spend our money. read more
