Usually this IHOP has an extremely long wait time to be seated. The hosts and hostesses, in my opinion, are not exactly rude but inattentive to customers. I have walked out several times. However, this particular visit was not bad. My server Lori was very friendly and the food was better than usual. The environment/atmosphere is consistently lacking, especially when you consider other options such as Jake's Uptown and Norma's Cafe, both of which are lower in price and exceptional when it comes to service. My friends and I wanted to eat at IHOP after a long night of bowling but instead, we wasted 30 mins of our night sitting in our chairs, not offered any drinks or any kind of service. We were greeted and the man seated us, but after that, every worker walked pass us. There was a total of four on the floor and one manager. (Not sure how many cooks were in the back). It's late at night, so we weren't expecting a 5 star customer service but this service was ridiculous. Not sure what sorcery is going on in the back, but the manager needs to get her team together. I'm assuming they were handling a "theft" situation, not sure cause one waiter was complaining about his $2 tip, and the others seemed rather fed up. But, out of the four, none of them bother to explain the situation or even ask what we would like to drink! At this point, another table was having issues with their service and it was 2:30am (30 mins since we've been seated, I'm hella thirsty!), so we decided to pack up and drive 13 mins to the IHOP on Preston road. They had less people on the floor and provided awesome customer service. If you are leaving main event and want a snack, y'all better drive down to Preston Road cause this place is not worth your time and effort. read more

The worst service I have ever received at any restaurant in my life. Went to this location at 12 am with 2 other friends. Besides a group of about 10 that were seated, there was no one else in the store. Waited 30 minutes to actually be acknowledged by the manager and had to ask to be seated. From there my group waited for 1 HOUR AND 30 MINUTES, and didn't receive as much as a glass of water. Meanwhile multiple parties came in during this time and were seated and had gotten their orders taken. I cant even begin to wrap my head around how discriminatory you have to be to do that. Ultimately my friends and I were so stunned and upset we left but not before talking to the manager. I explained to him how disgusting and disrespectful the service (or lack there of) was and he proceeded to stare blankly unapologetic. Horrible management, if there was a way to petition this place to be shut down I would do everything in my power to help. Please save you time and money and go somewhere else. have been going here since it opened and i must say the quality of service has dropped drastically. bunch of teenagers running the restaurant. service was unatentive and tried her her hardest to rush us out. the place was filthy. took over 30 minutes for someone to clean the very unsightly spill and large mess and spill at the table next to us. they were not busy at all so could not under stand what the delay was. also heard the employees arguing in the kitchen about something. not a conversation the guests needed to hear. the food was good but my go to omelette has seemed to shrunk in size and is no longer as satisfying as it used to be. i will most likely be looking for a new location to eat breakfast from now on. read more

Worst situation I've observed in a restaurant. Went in last night with a party of 11. The restaurant was completely empty on a Saturday night and we waited 15 minutes to be greeted and sat. The manager and one server were working so grossly understaffed. Our server informed us she was asked to work in this location since no staff showed up. Collectively I'd say more than 40-50 people were turned away for service over the hour we were there even though the entire restaurant was empty. All waiting guests walked away dissatisfied. The manager is unfortunately completely undertrained and incompetent. He failed to lead through the problem and made every effort not to engage with anyone. He didn't greet guests, communicate with guests waiting to be seated and never stepped in to assist with orders or expediting food. He appeared completely overwhelmed and in equip to step in and lead. Our server was very nice. The food all came out perfect and the order was accurate, so no issues in the kitchen. The failure here is on the restaurant manager, district manager and regional manager who should have full line of sight into these continuous problems based online ratings, staff retention and the P&L of this store. This place is always so dirty!! The floors are covered in crumbs, straw wrappers, food pieces,etc! Every time I go (I've gone maybe 3 or 4 times within a year bc this is the closest IHOP and sometimes it's just convenient) tables sit dirty for the entire time I'm there unless someone comes in and they need a clean one. Went last week and didn't want to eat my turkey sandwich bc my turkey was GREY! Bathrooms are always filthy, changing table is DIRTY (I see actually dirt and weird scuffs all over it every time). Usually when we walk in, someone looks at us and just walks away without saying a word before either retuning to seat us 5 min later (prob cleaning a table that sat with old food for an hour) or they send someone else over to us who also doesn't say anything, grabs menus and finally says "follow me". Just poor customer service and FILTHY restaurant. I've given this place so many chances that I just won't go anymore. I shouldn't leave a restaurant wondering if I'll get sick or walk out of a bathroom wanting to take a shower ASAP!! Just sweep the floors, clean your bathrooms, say "HI" with a smile, clean a table within 5 or even 10 min of someone leaving, and don't serve OLD food! That's not really asking much!! read more

If I could give this place negative stars, I would. This was the worst IHOP restaurant I've ever been to. Came in at 12am after work with my boyfriend and immediately wanted to leave. The host was extremely rude and legitimately said, "I'm off the clock and want to go home," before seating us. There were employees yelling and screwing around in front of customers as well. We sat at a table for at LEAST 15 minutes, with servers literally standing on the floor and STARING at us before even getting a drink order. Also, the drink order wasn't even from a server, but from the manager, who seemed to be the only one doing work. Yes, it was, "late," and they probably wanted to go home (even though the night/early morning shift had just started) but I work in the service industry as well and for me at least, it's unacceptable to let someone sit for 15+ minutes without a DRINK order. The employees/management here should be embarrassed. Don't advertise being a "24 Hour," restaurant if you can't even get your employees to do their jobs after 11pm. read more

Sunday evening, the restaurant was not busy, no host or hostess to seat us. We were seated by a waiter. He put us in the section of a waitress who didn't seem to be on the floor. My wife and I and 3 young children were able to get some one to get our waitress after 25 minutes to get our order. Then we waited for another 30 minutes for our food. The waitress was apologetic, but it was already too late for apologies. Food was fine. Service sucked. No visit from the manager but she was able to comp the 2 kids meals. But the waiter that was supposed to wait us gave us another waiter because she sayed she worked a 14 hour shift so she was on break but she was over there waiting other people's tables RIGHT IN FRONT OF OUR FACE so we just stayed to eat our food. So, up until today it had been about 8 years since I had eaten at iHop. Not because I don't love iHop (because seriously who doesn't love it) but mainly because I'm not in my early 20's anymore looking for a late night snack to soak up the booze. This morning, my husband, daughter and myself decided to venture out to the iHop in Frisco at Main and the tollway, and I have to say I was very impressed. We arrived at about 12:30 pm and the place was packed. I am unfortunately on crutches right now but 2 staff members stopped what they were doing when they saw me and opened the doors for me as I was coming in. We only waited for about 10 minutes and were seated in Nadine's section. She was prompt in welcoming us to the restaurant and didn't bat an eye when my husband asked for a carafe of Dr. Pepper (yes that happened and yes he drank it all). The food was hot and delicious and the service was fantastic. I had a Colorado omelette which was cooked to perfection (but huge because hey, this is America and we love food) and the rest of my family enjoyed their orders as well. If you happen to visit this location I highly recommend Nadine as a server. She was awesome and we will definitely be back soon. read more

Echoing the worst managed location we've been to. Packed waiting room with standing room only and no less than 10 empty tables at any given time. I thought the first time we experienced this was a fluke but the fact is this is an extremely understaffed location. Service is always slow but the waitresses we've had were friendly. Summary: obscene waits, contaminated food, raw-ish eggs/bacon, even more waiting. Extended review: Waiting 30 min to be seated (despite the restaurant being 25% full) then an HOUR to get our food. By that point we were all starving and super excited to be eating. That's when we actually looked at the food. One plate of plain pancakes had frosting smudged across one side (none of us ordered that flavor of pancakes) and chocolate smudged on another side. Another plate has one pancake five inches wide, while the one under it was maybe 3 inches. Even more concerning, two plates had almost RAW bacon, one of which was served to a visibly pregnant woman. A final plate had eggs with raw eggs whites when it was made clear they wanted it all cooked. It was a fairly horrible experience that took over two hours. Only 15-20 minutes of that time was us actually eating. Final conclusion: we are going to Steak 'n Shake next time. read more

Waited for 10-15 mins in a long line in front of the hostess stand while the manager walked around not greeting any of us. Finally get seated and wait another 5-10 mins to be greeted and have food and drink orders taken. 30 mins for food to finally arrive my food is cold and my bacon looks like someone tore one strip in half to make 2 pieces. I requested to have another order and by boyfriend asked for salsa and ketchup. My boyfriends drink sits emphysema for 20 mins and we still have no bacon, salsa, or ketchup. We had to ask another waitress for these things which she brought out right away. Still no sign of our waitress. Then she finally run by to give us salsa and bacon luckily we got the stuff from someone else but we had to eat cold food and my boyfriend still has nothing to drink because she didn't even stop to ask is how everything was going. she goes missing again for another 10-15 mins. We asked another waitress if they can find our waitress for us because she's nowhere to be found. Another 10 minutes goes by and our waitress has still not come to see us. Someone asks "did she ever come" we say "no" she goes to the back and we can hear her say to our waitress "your table looks upset because you still haven't gone to them" she still never comes out. She has someone else come out and talk to us so we can get my boyfriend something to drink and ask for the check. No sorry or taking responsibility nothing. Today me and my boyfriend went to this IHOP and waited a little bit and still wasn't greeted by any server but the manager on duty Marcus greeted and seated us so kindly. He apologized for the wait and and said they were short staffed. He mentioned his vaca started few hours before but he was working. He was very kind to us and waited on us himself which is rare in any restaurant I would know being a server myself for so long. This used to be one of our favorite places to go, however after our experience tonight, we will NOT be returning. At first, the experience seemed on par as we were quickly greeted and sat. However, it went downhill from there. Our server, Ritchie, was either seriously poorly trained or just didn't care. Management was not much better. The coffee was old and burnt. Once our order was taken we didn't see our server again until 20 minutes later when he brought the food. We had to ask the two other servers to get us more coffee and water as well as silverware that wasn't so bent it couldn't be used. Then, to make matters worse, they forgot the salad my husband ordered and he had to wait ten more minutes for ketchup he asked for when he reminded our "waiter" about his salad. Insult to injury, they no longer offer Thousand Island dressing and no one knew that relish is simply pickles. Now, the proper thing for management to do, would have been to would simply have been to mix mayo, ketchup, chop up some Pickles and voila! But no, sadly, they couldn't do that! I guess they thought it was better to have an irritated customer than take a few minutes of their time. Management here clearly leads from behind and it shows in the poor quality of service and food. Horrible experience. Visited a couple weeks ago. After waiting over an 40min for food we were trying to pay for our drinks and leave. The manager approached us and apologized he told us there was a problem with the cooks in the back and our food was almost ready. After we ate we were approached and told he would take care of us next time and that we would have a better experience, just ask for him and he would treat us. I tried to give them another chance and visited yesterday. I called and asked for him but he was on vacation but I was told not to worry just let the server know what happened and they would take care of us. So we couldn't make it in the morning, I called and let the manager know we couldn't make it but we would probably stop by for dinner. She said it was fine and they would take care of us. Well after another 40min of waiting and no drink refills our food was ready but incorrect. At the end I told the server everything, she came back and said ok just whenever your ready to leave everything is taken care of. Amy the manager approached and told us we were mistaken and was only promised 1 meal but she would take care of it this time. I told her we confirmed before we got there. We are a family of 5 parents and 3 small children. It didn't make sense. So she came back after I asked for the GM and District managers names and phone numbers, and told us they would only cover 1 meal. I asked to speak to the GM she left for another 10min, the GM was upset that we called him at home at 10:15pm he talked down to me and was extremely disrespectful. Never going back.
