Today I had a disappointing experience at this IHOP. The air conditioning was broken, making it an uncomfortable 85 degrees inside. I ordered a build-your-own omelet with cheddar, tomatoes, and hash browns inside, plus a side of three pancakes, which is one of the side options for the byo omelet. When my food arrived, the omelet was missing the hash browns, and I was served a stack of five pancakes instead of the usual side portion. I didn't understand exactly what had happened because there were no hash browns in the omelet or on the side. But I figured, hey I'll just eat this omelet instead of making them remake it. And thought, maybe she grabbed the wrong stack of pancakes. I also didn't eat the two extra pancakes. At the end when the bill came out, I realized I had been charged for an additional stack of 5 pancakes and she had entered the hash browns as the side, which I didn't receive either way. I let the server know and she only offered a side of hash browns to go, which wasn't helpful since I was already full and had paid about $10 more than expected. While the food tasted good and I've had positive experiences here before, this visit was frustrating and left me feeling overcharged. read more

This is an update: didn't ever plan on returning. However, a friend had breakfast here a few weeks ago and she was impressed. So back we go. Now we have eaten at IHops all over the country, so what the heck. Our server, Caitlin, was waiting at our table. She brought hot coffee and menus within a few minutes. Took our orders right away. The food arrived, the order was correct and still hot. The food was cooked perfectly. Pancakes done, bacon crisp and more hot coffee. The outside of the restaurant was spotless, bathrooms clean, tables clean. We recommend this restaurant. read more

My husband and I are traveling 30 hours from Cali to Louisiana. We decided to eat at ihop around midnight because we were under the impression that they were open 24/7. Upon entering we were told by the girl at the front that we would not be served and had to leave because they were understaffed. I asked how long would the wait be and I wasn't given a time, just told to leave. Of course there is no way of knowing whether the staff was actually short, what I do know is they the restaurant did not look busy in the slightest. I hope you can check the time and date and figure out who it was that handled this situation unprofessionally and correct their behavior. read more

It's hard to mess up breakfast and ihop has pretty much mastered a great breakfast. Service was great and quick. Prices make it affordable for anyone. Had the 2+2+2, and it was super yummy. More than I could eat. Lots of parking and it was very clean. Our sever also had a coupe good jokes for us. read more

Dang, I need to read reviews before I go to new places. This morning was the worst breakfast we've ever had. Ordered eggs over medium; they arrived hard-fried with crispy, curled brown edges. I never gripe about food while there, so I ate them...but never again. Really inedible. I ordered pancakes, but got French toast; not the end of the world. But the worst aspect was, the coffee was less than 3/4 cup full and tepid. Not even warm. So I did ask for hot coffee, and she brought a little pitcher...of tepid coffee! IHOP--We went into our favorite breakfast place. Even though we knew Laurie and Eddie weren't there we still love our breakfasts at IHOP. It's our first stop when we come to Kerrville. The moment the host led us, thats where things went wrong. He led us to the right side seating area that was completely full of guests. In this day in age sardine seating shouldn't be a thing, especially when the other side of the restaurant is virtually empty. We asked to be seated in a less crowded area and so he did. We were given menus and there we waited and waited and waited some more for our server, who by the way we have no idea who it was. He/she never came to our table. After minutes went by we realized we were not on anyone's radar. We've been coming to the Kerrville IHOP for almost five years. Weekend breakfast will never be the same! We totally miss Laurie and Eddie so much. They always made people happy and feel welcome. Even on their most busiest days. Never knew how many miles we drove till today. Honestly it never mattered because we were coming to IHOP and miles didn't matter. We drive 37 miles, one way, to eat there. But never calculated it. It's the atmosphere and good vibes we were coming for. Especially during COVID when going out was scary AF! New procedures were put in place it was a change for everyone employees and guests. But it was awesome! My FIL didn't go out to eat for a whole year. We told him how clean and amazing IHop was, and well that was the only place he trusted to go out to eat. When my FIL was in the hospital and later when he passed, being someplace with familiar faces made things better. When you are a server, host, dishwasher, cook... let it be known people notice everything. Did I mention we've been coming to this IHOP for five years. To Sonny, the District Manager, I advise you bring back the team that is the heartbeat of IHop. When you have people that give a damn about the service others provide in-house to make your restaurant a beacon of light for families, well you make sure their taken care of. If I could, I would give it a zero star review. It was that bad. Two of the doors at the entrance were out of use and looked as if they needed cleaning. When we were ushered to a table, we waited and waited for waitstaff. The server didn't come until she heard me ask my husband, "Should we just leave?" My blueberry pancakes were barely warm when served. I sent them back and they were briefly microwaved. As I started eating them I realized there were not fully cooked inside. Additionally, the sausage I ordered was burned. My husband ordered ham and eggs and the ham was very greasy. When the waitress came back and asked how the breakfast was, I told her the pancakes weren't fully cooked and the sausages were burned. She said nothing at all and took the plates away. She didn't bring the manager over to talk to us to rectify these issues. I then went to the restroom and it smelled of sewer and the faucets were green with corrosion. If I could give it zero stars, I would. This place is absolutely horrible. I ordered eggs bacon and pancakes- basic,right? Regular order - nothing to make the kitchen freak out. What I got was not edible. I was working on my pancakes when I asked my server "Hey, I had ordered crispy bacon. This bacon is dripping in grease, the eggs and the hash brown were covered in grease. " She took my plate and said she would talk to her manager. When she returned, the only thing she had in her hand was my bill. She did not ask if I wanted anything else. Got the st.patricks day $1 pancake stack, and the waitress was very kind and a little lacking on the attentive side but overall the service was great. I don't know how their food is because the hostess ignored us. And the people ahead of us. We went in and while it wasn't busy both she and the waitress said nothing to any of us waiting. No "Welcome to IHOP" or even hello. We waited at Denny's for an hour before finding out our waitress forgot to put our order in. We went back there instead because at least they acknowledged us.
