Door says open until 10, Google says Open 24 hours...but the doors are locked at 9:30? I work in the food industry and our corporate requires us to place orders for customers until 5 minutes after our closing time, I find it hard to believe the staff has permission to lock the doors at 9:30 and refuse new customers the opportunity to place orders. I get you want to get out of there as fast as possible but you guys are located off an interstate and people who have been traveling multiple days in a row eating nothing but fast food and wanted to actually sit down at a table and eat for once should get that opportunity even if it's a half hour before closing. read more

Two words: moldy bacon. When I go to IHOP, I start with pretty low expectations. I could have forgiven the thirty minutes we sat at our table waiting for our orders to be taken. I could have forgiven the fact that we ran out of coffee and never got more. I could have forgiven the fact that I ordered all you can eat pancakes, but never had a chance to order more than the two (tiny) ones that were brought out with my eggs because our server was inattentive. Fuck, what a waste of a meal opportunity! :( We tried to be nice, but this place was in shambles. I don't know what was going on in the kitchen but apparently the manager was back there cooking and the wait to get served was outrageous. The dude at the next table over was spitting bullets, and that's not just a homey phrase in these parts. When we did finally get served it was naturally everybody but my 4 year old daughter, who had to wait another 15 minutes. So she filled up on my breakfast and barely touched hers. My wife and I were cold when we came into this IHOP and the coffee and hot chocolate warmed us up. I had an omelet for breakfast (the great big steak omelet), and my wife had blueberry danish crepes which she said were pretty good. It hit the spot. We talked about how Ihops used to look all Scandinavian 20 years ago and wish that was still the case, oh well they just look like a denny's now. The pancakes were great, and so was the strawberry syrup. The managers needed to be better prepared for the Christmas business day. The location was open that day. However, the location quickly ran out of almost every menu item before 5pm on Christmas day. Common sense will tell the managers to get enough food to cover the Christmas day rush which was all day. The waiter we had wasn't trained on the free meal for the kids for Christmas day between the hours of 4pm - 10 pm. He wanted us to pay extra, however with the sign in the window, he wouldn't be able to charge us for the kids meal, so he asked the manager on-duty about the sign in the window. I won't be getting screwed by undertrained staff. I know this is America, and businesses are around to make money, but there is a fine line around when it comes to advertising. If the waiter and manager didn't honor the advertising, then that would be a quick set up for false advertising. So why be open if you don't have enough food to remain open? Management on duty isn't thinking right, and I think or I know the District manager of IHOP for this location needs to stop by and take care of the business. Managers need to better train the staff, or temp close the location until managers is trained, including non-management, and enough food is ordered to handle a very busy holiday! Managers knew that they would be open that day but didn't order enough food to remain open. How about this, it was my first time at your location and for a party of four, this was my last time in your location. My food came out cool and not hot, the staff that day was so low, the service was just not to the company policy. Training is a requirement per company policy and I've sent a formal complaint into the corp office for a full internal investigation. This IHOP has some *serious* issues. In the - omg we need intervention from someone higher up the chain - type of way. I've gone here twice - to make sure it wasn't a fluke. Our first visit, the waitress left us to our own devices in the small lobby for almost 10 minutes. We started to leave and she came rushing over to seat us. But it took forever to get anywhere because she couldn't stop talking long enough to take our order! The second time we went (today), I had to order twice, because the server did not tell me they were out of an ingredient to the meal I ordered. And each time I ordered, it took her almost 10 minutes to get back to the table to get my next order. She took my friend's order, and her food came, and sat on the table getting cold because of course we wanted to eat together. That's why we went there in the first place! By the end of our visit we were so disgusted that the manager had to come over and buy our meals for us. Despite her generosity, it wasn't enough. I will never go back here again. Sat for over 20 minutes to have the server over the area I was in tell me she would be right back. Another 30 minutes I flagged down another waitress to find out what was going on. She told me that she had no idea but had to field complaints on my server whenever she worked with her. Kelly took my drink request and food order as she apologised for the service. This was right at an hour. Got my hot tea and ice water and waited. My original sever finally came to the table to ask if I had been helped already. Told her yes and asked for creamer for the tea and a refill on the water. This girl took off. Kelly (the helpful one) came back around from her area to check on me and get my creamer and refill. About 10-15 minutes late I finally get my food. Had eggs, hash browns and sausage with the cinnamon roll king's Hawaiian French toast and a side of corner beef hash. The hash was extremely greasy with little to no potato and half cooked onion. I don't recommend it. Maybe since it's a new item on the menu the cooks haven't had much experience cooking it. Maybe. The French toast for being on the smaller side was excellent as were the eggs and hash browns. Got my check, had not asked for any kind of refund or reduction but Kelly had taken off the hot tea and corned beef hash. She apologised again for the service but I cannot say anything negative about her; she gets thrown into this situation and has to take on a bigger work load than she should. If you go and get seated and you see your server and she has short brown hair shaved on the side, ask to be moved. read more

Last evening we had the great misfortune to stop and eat at the iHOP located at 1429 Sidney Baker St, in Kerrville. The health Department rating at the front door was a "B" which should have told us something. We were greeted by a staff, non of which wore a mask or any face covering at all. We should have left at that point but we were hungry after a long drive. We were seated in a booth that had obviously not been cleaned in a good long while as it was covered with greasy hand prints on the walls and plexiglass partitions. The restrooms were absolutely filthy and reeked of urine and feces. We like iHOP because they are usually very consistent, they're usually clean and the food is OK. Have you ever been to a place where all of a sudden you get this gut feeling (pun intended) to turn around, yet you still stay. Humans, some of us are vulnerable & just too darn nice to walk away from something. I don't know man. I just don't know. What I DO know is that this particular IHOP was the worst disappointment of my life. I mean, my 5 year old can probably season a Tilapia better than the nastiness I had here. Sorry God! Anyway, us "grown ups" got the "Tilapia Florentine" & one of the kiddos ordered the "Happy Face Pancake". We also ordered "Mozzarella Sticks" to eat while our orders arrived. The sticks were just the perfect amount of gooey & crunchy, no doubt about that. But, the marinara was flippin cold. Like the take out of the fridge equal to the current Texan weather, 40 degrees anyone? Cold. Our fish was lacking flavor big time. I had to sprinkle salt & pepper on the side to make that fish edible. I have had Tilapia Florentine from IHOP a couple of times, so I know that it actually does have a lot of flavor. The spinach & Alfredo sauce under the fish was just blah & cold. You could just mix some cracked black pepper with craft glue & serve it saying it was Alfredo & I wouldn't have known the difference. The mashed potatoes had literally NO flavor. The Garlic Bread was oily just like all other IHOPs. Now the best part. My child's Pancakes. She didn't eat even half of them. But, knowing her I thought, she is probably already full, so as usual we will be taking the leftovers home. I don't know what got into this Mommy that she decided to take a bite from the Pancakes. "Hold on, what just happened. Let's take another bite. Holy Shit! The Pancakes are undercooked. What the hell just happened?" It's IHOP. International Fudge cake House of Pancakes. The person in the kitchen sure has to know how to cook the Pancakes atleast. But no, while we are screwing up the rest of the food. Let's just screw up the Pancakes too. I don't know man. I don't know. Or maybe I do. An extra star, only because the Holiday Decor here is absolutely on point & the "person" in the kitchen was nice enough to add extra spinach in my plate & still giving me the Garlic Toast as well. Yup, I had asked our server to skip the toast if possible & give me extra spinach instead. Now, while I am on way back to Houston. Nervous because my stomach feels queasy. Been here twice while visiting my girlfriend, and both times the service was exceptional. Wait staff is friendly and makes you feel at home, helps in the event things are lost (forgot my Bluetooth second time there, they found it, kept it safe, and made sure it got back to me). Food is average, but at midnight, I'd argue that such is above par. Can't remember her name, but the short skinny waitress with dark hair is absolutely amazing. (Our first time there was her first night, and she went above and beyond with service). Second time, again, can't remember her name, but again the service was fantastic...went out if her way to make my guests' orders perfect (and they're picky people). read more

The good: The service and food were better than expected considering the other yelp reviews. Tamatha was prompt and very attentive. The bad: This location was out of certain supplies (bananas and milk) and had an emergency door that was in need of obvious repair (the door did not even have a sign that it was out of order). The ugly: We were sat a dirty table with syrup and other goodies on the seats. The bathrooms were not entirely nasty but do need some attention (soap pumps broken as well as paper towel dispenser). We arrived in Kerrville 7/24/2020 around lunch time. Found that they were allowing customers in, my husband and I were tired from loading our Uhaul and heading to Kingman, AZ. We enjoyed our large orders of food and our waiters pleasant nature. My husband accidentally left his cellphone at our table because he was so tired. Even with an empty house, it took over 7 minutes for the waitress to come to my table. If it hadn't been for the hostess bringing coffee, at my request, I would have probably left. Once she took my order though, she was attentive and prompt. Apparently the cook is in training, this based on an overheard conversation, and it showed on the plate. Ugly, over medium eggs swimming in grease is not what I wanted to see. Though everything tasted fine, I tend to expect more from a $12 + tip meal. That is $15 for breakfast, folks. This IHOP needs some management intervention- from corporate. Our poor frazzled waitress, Laurie, found herself cooking and making coffee beverages as well as serving, taking orders, and answering the oft-ringing phone. Poor girl. The cook was completely incompetent, cooking my husband's "crepes" like they were quesadillas, complete with heaviness, greasiness, and crispy edges. My BLT was nothing worth mentioning. Again, I can't believe I have to give them even one star. Went in with my husband and mother in law this morning around 1045. To our surprise We were actually seated right away. It took about 5 mins for the server to ask what we'd like to drink. It took another 10 to get the drinks. Then we waited for creamer. Server took our order and the wait began. At 1135 or so we got our order (we actually got our food before the table next to us and they were there long before us). My husband did not get what he ordered and you could tell his plate and my mother in laws plate had been sitting out in the kitchen for awhile. The scrambled eggs were cold and had gotten crusty from sitting. I ordered an omelette and I took a little bite and it was cold. Cut it in the center and it was all cold. I let the manager know about the food we received. We left it on the table and paid our ticket and had breakfast at Cracker Barrel. So many uncleared tables the whole time we were there. 3 and 1/2 stars would be perfect. My husband and I eat here maybe a couple weekends a month. If you like sweet stuff for breakfast this is a good option. Unlike other reviewers I have generally had decent service here but then we are early breakfast people so it isn't very crowded when we go. One of my favorite things to have is the Strawberry/Banana French Toast with a side of bacon. Comes drizzled with Strawberry syrup so I don't have to add anything. In general it is usually a pleasant experience but I will say that sometimes the checkout can be a wait. Go early is my advice. read more

The worst I've had at a IHOP. My wife and I decided to eat at IHOP Saturday evening, since the last time it was brilliant a year ago. We tried something different. My wife orders the philly cheese steak sandwich and I decided to try the chicken and waffles. We ordered some cheese sticks as a starter. The waitresses were friendly and respectfully should be commended. Here comes the food. My wife's cheese steak just starts to fall apart the bread was soaked in grease, I placed my finger on top of it and grease was just running down my finger. My chicken and waffles was appalling. The waffles was at below room temperature the butter would not even melt or even spread. I took the lumps of butter and placed them in a dish that the cheese stick was in. The chicken was not even warm. The taste was something you would obtain from a microwave meal. We flushed the taste out with the ice tea. One of the waitresses asked us if we wanted a box, we kindly declined. We arrived home and just hope we would not feel unwell after eating there. Happy to say we made it passed the night. This was not just distasteful, it was disgusting. This is not the standards that other IHOP restaurants have, they uphold higher standards. I am unsure what happened to this one, but it is not the same quality as it once had a year ago. read more
