I have been here multiple times since I moved to Manchester (less than a year ago). And I can say, without a doubt this is the WORST IHOP i have ever been to. Although the hostess and the waitresses I've met are generally nice, that place is dysfunctional. I often have problems finding my waitress, even when it's empty. Often times, my food is cold or ill prepared. When it's time to pay,again, no one can be found. Everytime I go here, I say that I'll try just once more..and everytime I go back,something goes wrong. Just this morning, I called my order in 25 minutes ahead of time. When I got there 30minutes later, my simple order of eggs, pancakes, and turkey bacon wasn't ready. Mind you, there were maybe 5 couples total in the restaurant, and they all were eating. And except for the hostess, no waitresses could be found. I paid and waited an additional 10-14 minutes to finally get my food. When I saw my bag, the waitress had it in her hand. The same hostess/waitress who had my bag of food in her hand stopped to chat with a couple with whom she was familiar. I remained for several minutes while she continued her conversation. Finally, after feeling frustrated, I stood up and asked her to please give me my order so that I could leave. This place is dysfunctional. I've already made corporate headquarters aware (from an incident from a prior bad visit) of how unhappy I have been with my service here. I guess I'm a glutton for punishment. I love IHOP's food and think it's great. But the service at this local restaurant is severely lacking. read more

Dear Waitress, The comment you made to your coworker as I was paying out bill of "there's too many highchairs in here", struck me as offensive. It was the Tuesday after Christmas that my husband, my 14-month-old son and myself came into the diner. It was practically empty and the only two highchairs that I observed were my child's and the family sitting opposite us. I want to apologize; I had no idea that our idea of treating out our families to a nice breakfast after the hectic holiday season would have such implications on you doing your waitress duties. I might remind you that neither one of our children was acting up, but you ma'am were certainly bothered by them. Whether you had known that I was the mother of one of those children that needed highchairs or not, the plain fact that that you made that comment in front of a customer is absolutely deplorable. I noticed that the isles of the diner were large enough for two highchairs to sit opposite each other WITH SPACE between them for a person to walk through, as I had done many times when my child threw something into the isle and I respectfully picked it up. You were not our waitress but I promise you, I will never burden you with our family outings again. Again, I apologize for trying to expose my child to the outside world, as we were trying to have a nice time in a quite setting after the holiday season. I wish I had the nerve to say something to you when you said it... Next time I will know better, but it will never be at IHOP, as I will not bring my family there again. I wish I glanced at your name tag and embarrassed you, but I am not like you ma'am (although you didn't look much older than 17), I keep my ugly comments to myself in a public setting, I am trying to set a good example for the new generation, unlike you who seems only to care about maneuvering around highchairs at your place of WORK. Some things in life never change, others get worse. Service in this place got worse. I entered an unlocked door at 7am (their opening time, and waited 5 minutes to be seated. I waited another 5 minutes for the waitress to come to the table. I ordered an orange juice, it made it on the bill but not onto the table. Yes I could have reminded her about the juice but she has to be around after I ordered the food to remind her. If you want chain food, go 1 mile down the road to Denny's or 1 1/4 mile further is a locally owned Vernon Diner or Rheins Deli. You won't be disappointed with any of those. read more

I came here with a group for dinner when the restaurant was not very busy. Several of us had our orders messed up or they didn't bring out parts of our order until we asked for them. DO NOT GO HERE! Terrible service -started out with the two hostesses bickering about seating us! Mass confusion. One we were seated our waitress couldn't answer basic question of "soup of the day" it was 2 pm in the afternoon. We placed our order and less than two minutes she came back to our table to take our order again -really! Ahe promised she made a mistake and put our order in but she couldnt recall what we ordered. Our drinks were gone still no soup and after 45 minutes still no food? She came to our table and told us it would be a little while longer but had no idea except "not in 2 minutes". The food was very very average...and that's being nice. I'm a huge potato person and I can usually eat potatoes in any form bc I don't believe in bad potatoes, but the hashbrowns here are actually difficult to swallow down your throat. And it's not just the hashbrowns. The bacons were like rubber and the sausages were horrible...it's all burnt. The only thing that tastes normal was the ham and that was it. Other than that, the syrup and jams are stored in jugs that Idek when they clean it. The opening of the jar had remaining syrup that consolidated and they didn't even bother cleaning before giving it to the consumers. read more

By far the worst service I've had in my entire life. I was with one other person and we waited for our food for, not exaggerating, an hour and 12 minutes, I counted. Everyone else around us got their food before us including people who sat down 30 minutes after us. It was so bad that people around us were looking around and wondering why we didn't have food and a few people even asked us what was going on. When I complained to the waitress and manager they both gave crap excuses and were not considerate whatsoever. We went here a few days ago and don't plan on ever going back. We did get a table right away, which was promising, then it went downhill from there. We waited almost 10mins for a waitress to take our drink order, so while we had her there we gave her our entire order so we wouldn't have to flag her down again. Almost 50 mins later our breakfast came out. We were getting ready to leave when they came to our table with our food. That is a ridiculous amount of time to wait for food, not to mention, breakfast. I regret that I had to go out of my way to write a review about IHOP. Tonight my son & I wanted pancakes as it is my son's fathers bday that passed away a few months back & IHOP was our favorite "fun" place after a very long day. We walked in with no greeting for about 7/8mins as servers just walked by. When we were seated we sat for over 15mins till someone finally came to take our drink order she disappeared in the kitchen for maybe 10 mins to ask if they had the kind of pancakes i wanted I was told they were out of the ones I wanted So i quickly was about to make my 2nd choice and our server walked away saying "let me get your drinks while you decide" then left my son & I for another 10mins (still no drinks)while waiting on other tables & walking by several Xs my son & I decided since we weren't getting served we were going to leave. I was so upset by the treatment I called from my car to speak to a manager a girl answered and demanded to know who I was & what the call was for in order to speak to a manager, I told her who I was and why I was calling she then became extremely RUDE & DISRESPECTFUL & interrupted me & yelled to me "call back in morning to speak to Andrew" when I asked her name she refused to tell me & told me she was too busy to deal with this... (the place was not even half full) I admittedly raised my voice at her and hung up I was so upset!! If I could give this place a NEGATIVE star THATS WHAT IT DESERVES. I'm appalled. read more

Not sure why I let my husband talk me into eating breakfast here as there are sooo many much better places in Manchester..but I did and I regretted it immediately. It took a very long time to get our food. They completely screwed up my husbands and sons order and our waitress only checked on us once during our entire stay. When they finally brought my toast, about 10 mins after the rest of my mral, it was dry and cold and then no butter or spreads on the table.. He promised we'd never be back!!! Breakfast started out just fine... our server was attentive at the get go however, never checked back up to see if everything was okay with our food. I ordered scrambled eggs, sausage and bacon with a piece of french toasts. I tend to eat things in a particular order, and one at a time. My last thing to eat was my bacon (save the best for last kind of thing) and when I lifted the bacon strip I noticed that it was covering a yoke stained plate. They literally used the bacon strips to cover it up. The manager offered to take the meal off the menu as well as give me an additional 25% off my entire bill... Which is probably generous in some circles however, not in mine. I'm completely disgusted... and will never return to an IHOP again, nor will I ever recommend an IHOP to my friends or family. I completed a survey on the phone and optioned to have a representative call me back... I will return to this forum to update the world on what actions IHOP is willing to take in this matter. I remind you... I had scrambled eggs,... (precooked) which is understandable based on the volume that they do. I immediately ran for the bathroom in fear that I would become sick at the table and realized when in the bathroom that I was in an even dirtier place than expected. I requested the manager to give me my entire bill without any discounts or charity, added 20% for a tip to the server (none of this could have been her fault, she obviously was working hard... and left NEVER TO RETURN! read more

My first trip to an IHOP and it was fantastic. From the moment we walked in we were impressed by how clean and welcoming the restaurant was. The pancakes and eggs were honestly fluffier and fresher than many fancy brunch places that I've been to and the service was excellent. Karen, our waitress, was very welcoming and attentive. The manager even took the time to stop by and check on us. They clearly care about their restaurant and their food. We're on a road trip but I was a local I'd be a regular. If we're ever back in the area, I'll definitely stop by. read more

Went to Manchester IHOP today for lunch. The food was great the service left alot to be desired. Our server came and took our order quickly. We waited 20 minutes for our food to come out. When it arrived my friend asked the woman who brought our food for more gravy for her chicken fried steak. The woman walked away as she was still speaking and said to a woman waiting on another table "I don't know what SHE wants". The other woman came over and my friend got her gravy. In the middle of our meal the original waitress came over with another waitress and said she was going on break and we would be helped by the other woman. That's fine, We didn't need to know that but whatever. When we were finished we waited for our check for a long time. My friend finally was able to call over the second waitress and asked for the check. she says "someone else was supposed to be taking care of this table. I don't know where they are though so I guess I'll get your check" I understand that they are newly opened but....... I think someone needs to go over what good customer service is. Because this wasn't it. I will go again in a few months and see if things have improved. read more
