Terrible, terrible, terrible service!!!! I have been coming here since this IHOP opened and I must say, this is the WORST experience I have ever had eating here!!!! I just had to update my review... first off, when we walked in no one came to greet us, the waitresses were nowhere to be found! A worker that was cleaning a table finally came over n got us menus n a table. After some time, she had to come back and ask us what we wanted to drink because our waitress apparently was too busy guarding the front desk. After a while,our waitress, Selene B or something like that.., came and took our order. It took them over an hour to get our dinner to us!!!! And that was only after we went to ask what was going on!!! Our food was ready and was just hanging out in the kitchen because our waitress didn't bring it over!!! I ordered the chicken fried steak dinner and my broccoli was covered in what I hope was chocolate. I call the waitress over to tell her and she says, oh, yeah it looks like chocolate. I hand her the plate and she asks if I don't want it? Like really? Who would eat their meal if it had was was "thought" to be chocolate!?!?!, it's common sense to replace it! Common sense that this waitress is clearly lacking. She has no place in the service industry and we were not the only family in the restaurant that had a problem because of her, there was another family complaining about their order by her to the "manager" there too! Is this what is to be expected dining at ur establishment these holidays!?!?!? Very dissenting! read more

Don't regret giving my local IHOP a second chance...my previous experience was not the best but this visit demonstrated the great improvements they've done...the servers were great and exemplified a great deal of respect and customer care....food was delicious and satisfying...my son is already asking when we can come back again...the experience was that great.... read more

This place sucks... we were seated quick but that was the good thing. We ordered our breakfast with OJ, but the orange juice didn't get there and also the food. Had to leave so we had our order to go. When I paid for the food... the girl charged us 3 times... and I asked her why... because it didn't print...then I checked my account and found it was charged 3x. I had her call the manager and the manager didn't apologize to me for the inconvenience. She didn't care. She also told me it would be refunded within 24hrs.. we will see if it does or I'll be back. Came here in the morning with my son. Genesis our waiter was amazing. She took our order at amazing timing, she kept coming back if we needed anything. She kept cleaning our plates so it wouldn't be piled up. She has been my waiter in 3 other visits but I just had to review this ihop because of her. Best waiter I've had. She deserves a raise. Always smiling and thanking her guest. Will definitely be coming back for her and the great crepes. read more

I'm sure the food here is great and the place looks very clean. However, the communication with the waitresses here was subpar. I came in for the first time with my buddy to spend his gift card, we just wanted milk shakes. They were "out of ice cream," which was fine, I understand supplies run low. They then said, all they have is chocolate. So I ask, "oh do you have chocolate ice cream?" Because I'd be down for a chocolate shake. The waitress, already clearly annoyed at me says "no, we already have the chocolate milk shakes made." So I then asked, "so are they made from chocolate ice cream or like a powder mix?" And then she said "um no, we just have it made." By now, not really having my questioned answered, I just said okay I'll get something else. All in all, this place is fine, but I was a little less than pleased with the inability to communicate. read more

First time we went was a very good experience good service and food but the last 2 times things have gotten worse we were the only ones in there around lunch the waitress was to busy yanking to the cook she even looked at us then went back to talking instead of coming to help us. Then it took another 15 minutes for her to come take our order once she sat us down. It took another 30 minutes to get our food and it was not very good we didn't eat even half of it the waitress asked if everything was fine I said no the service was bad and the food was cold and nasty we will never go back there read more

What a difference two years makes. There were two occupied tables when we arrived. My son and I each finished a cup of coffee and still no one took our orders. While waiting, three other parties took their seat. The waitress proceeded to help the late-comers first. We went to the cashier and paid for the coffees and high tailed it to Denny's. My mom and I decided to get breakfast here and were promptly seated on a Tuesday morning. Unfortunately, that was about the only good thing. We sat there for 15 minutes without anyone acknowledging us. The tables next to us and across from us, which were both seated after, were promptly served. It could have been that they were busy, but I still think servers should not ignore an entire table without even offering water, all the while serving others around us who arrived later. My husband and I attempted to go to this IHOP arriving at 935 PM. The neon sign in the window said open the posted closing time was 10 PM. When we went inside we were met by a girl who before we could get a word out said "we are closing in 20 min, we are only taking to go orders now. To which I said so we can't be seated? She replied "No". No apology, no explanation just rude and matter of fact. Clearly by saying they were taking to go orders the grill hadn't closed and the cashier hadn't closed the drawer yet. To me that says I am a lazy worker who doesn't want to work or do anything more than I have already done. Employees like that are not worth employing. They will do more damage than good. read more

IHOP - Yummyy!!!! - American Near Me - Pomona, California

First of our server Melissa was awesome. When we were seated the table wasnt completely cleaned off & there was a very strange smell. Like a chemical & a diaper smell combined.Gross! The food was below average at best. Eggs were cold & rubbery. The toast was barely toasted & cold as well. Pancakes were what you would expect & I was fine with that. When I went to pay & the counter the girl asked how was everything & I told her what I wrote above & she said "We get that a lot. No just kidding". I should've told her "I don't think that's something to joke about & I especially don't think it's funny I just paid 45.00 plus tip for crappy food." I should've asked for the manager. I've been going to IHOP's for over 30 years & I'll never go to this one again. First & last time! I'd rather drive to one that's not close to my house than go here again. read more

We came in on a Saturday at around 1pm. We got sat down quickly. Our server was very nice and friendly. She checked in on us a couple of times as well. Both my husband and I got hash browns with our meals. It was almost a double serving of hash browns. We have always gone to ihops in different locations and never gotten so much hash browns. So that was pretty neat! When it was time to pay the server asked us to pay up front. So we went up to pay and the cashier, I believe her name was Sofia, helped us. I found it very weird that her small black bucket style purse was on the counter. She was busy looking for something in her wallet (a light baby blue wallet). Then as she helped my husband she kept looking at her wallet. As my husband signed the receipt she picked up her wallet again and started to go through it. She noticed I was watching her and looked over at me several times. The whole thing was weird to me and sort of unprofessional. Sorry, but if you have to go through your wallet do so behind the wall or on your break. Not while you are helping a paying customer. As we walked out she continued to go through her wallet. My wife and I prefer to come to this location because it is always clean and there food seems to taste better than the other locations. The staff is always attentive, constantly coming back to see if we need refills or to see how the food is tasting. I would definitely recommend this place to anyone who's looking for a good cheap place to eat. read more

Usually come to this location because it's close to my house and always have a warming experience.. I've been needing to write my yelp so here it is. With my experience there was no wait at 8 am -Table was clean (except my spoon) -Our server Marlene (I may have misspelled?) was great she did everything I feel a server should be doing. Our order was spot on correct, and she checked on us in timely manners and was polite and nice. I usually feel that the severs are all pretty much welcoming and all which is why I kinda felt I needed to thank them for their hard work and efforts. I always use my yelp check in for -5 off of 20$ bill but this time I couldn't because Mellory (not Marlene ) had the biggest attitude helping us pay for our bill. I didn't even have a chance to ask for our -5 she was so rude. Slamming her hands on our receipt and swiping her card all hard and fast.. ( ok I recognize these things because I'm in a similar business where I know u don't need to swipe the card that hard and to prove my point she had to do it several times because she was doing it to fast it couldn't read her card bc she was either frustrated or just annoyed) In my opinion that isn't right. If you're having a bad morning because you're busy at work in which you decide to work at that isn't our(customers) problem and we don't deserve you're unprofessional child like attitudes. I went to this IHOP a couple of months ago. The people here are nice but there is something about the atmosphere that bothers me. Unfortunately because of bad timing, I found out that I had a stomach infection shortly after eating here. My wife and I went here on a Monday morning for hot chocolate; the machine was broken. Ordered the spicy buffalo chicken and they were out of the chicken as well. At checkout the machine wouldn't accept my debit card, so the waitress did it manually using a swipe machine. The next day we were double charged on our bank account for our meal. I went in to let them know in the evening (5:30pm) and there was no greeter or waiter/waitress at the front station. I wasn't sure what to do, so I stood at the checkout counter for close to 8 minutes. Once someone did finally help me, I asked to speak to the manager about the money issue. The employee said that they had no managers until the next morning, which surprised me. I didn't know a big chain restaurant would be allowed to have no managers on duty like that. So now I need to call them tomorrow morning to get it figured out. I personally love IHOP, but I don't recommend coming to this one in particular. read more

I have lived in Phillips Ranch for over 30 years and was very anxious about the opening of the new IHop. This restaurant, the staff and the food is wonderful. In fact there are way too many choices! So I received a a treat from IHOP, like a gift certificate for 2 meals ( me and 1 guest)including drinks. This never happened to me for a long time so I was excited specially cause my wedding anniversary is around the corner. To cut the story short, my husband and I enjoyed this treat with our usual fave. Went there early morning so people are just starting to come in so we were seated right away. We gave our orders, got our drinks and our meals followed through. Tiffany was serving us and she was quick to offer refills and follow up if we are doing ok or if we need something. Over all, place is clean , ambience is just right, few minutes from home and friendly staffs. What more can I ask but be thankful. So, thank you IHOP. Definitely my worst experience at an ihop. The only good thing about my visit was the friendly service. The food is way too expensive for what you get. We used a coupon for a free entree, but it's only valid if you buy two drinks. I didn't end up saving any money at all because the drinks added up to be the price of another entree. $5 for a glass of orange juice?? That is absolutely ridiculous. I might as well pick the oranges and juice them myself. I didn't end up saving any money with the coupon and I will definitely not be returning to ihop any time soon. read more
