My fiancé and I came here for a date night, and overall the food was fine. Unfortunately, the experience at the end of our meal left a bad impression. When it was time to pay, I paid the bill with my card because I was treating my fiancé. I intentionally left a small tip on the card because I planned to leave the rest in cash (about $40). The bill was about $170. I work in the service industry myself, so I know that cash tips can be appreciated. After seeing the tip on the card, our waitress immediately asked if there had been an issue with the service. I told her no. Less than a few minutes later, she came back and asked again, saying she noticed the tip was below a certain percentage and didn't reflect the level of service she provided. I explained that I was leaving the rest of the tip in cash. She then said she just wanted to make sure so we wouldn't leave a bad review. I understand asking once if there was an issue, but bringing it up a second time and commenting on the tip amount felt inappropriate and uncomfortable. It came across as pressure to increase the tip before I even had the chance to leave the cash I already intended to give. The food was enjoyable, but this interaction overshadowed an otherwise pleasant evening. I hope management addresses this, because no guest should feel like they have to explain or defend how they choose to leave their gratuity.

It's a sexy, intimate space in Sunset Blvd that is deceptively nondescript on the outside. The vibe is industrial meets Japanese minimalism but cozy. I loved the interiors. When a place is this beautiful, it portends delicious food is about to be served. We did the Dine LA menu and were surprised by the amount of food given. We both got the Mizuna salad which has marinated maitake and a walnut vinaigrette - it was refreshing and citrusy! The mushroom had a springy bite to it that contrasted beautifully with the greens. For our next appetizer, my husband got the seared sea bream which was sitting in a slightly salty, umami broth. I absolutely loved it. It had a smoky undertone that I couldn't get enough of! Get this instead of the wagyu tartare because the tartare is on the sweet side...my personal preference is that I don't like my savory food to taste sweet. But if you're into teriyaki flavors, this might be your groove. I had the same issue with the wagyu main...it tasted similar to the tartare as it had a slightly sweet finish. There was too much sauce, which was flavorful but I would've preferred it to have been prepared traditionally or minimally, because all that sugar just disguises the beef's natural taste. Wagyu can shine on its own. I'm also not sure if the beef was truly wagyu because it was a little chewy in some parts. I was a little disappointed with the wagyu treatment but I perked up when I saw the dessert. They give you a hefty slice of cheesecake. It was filling and decadent and the perfect way to end the meal. The service provided by Bronson and Joe was fantastic and is also why we will return to try their 17 course omakase. This restaurant is honestly a gem and has so much promise. Hopefully when we return, things would have improved.

The ambiance of this space is stunning. The service was amazing. The food looked wonderful. I really wanted to enjoy the food as much as I did the rest of the experience, but it wasn't quite there. The wagyu wasn't as tender as one comes to expect. The beef flavor was overpowered by the accoutrements. The sea bream was good. The salad was great and so was the cheesecake with a generous portion. I just wish that the entree would be memorable for the right reasons.

We stopped at this place after a show. The food was really nicely, presented and delicious. The drinks were absolutely outstanding.

As soon as I walked in the ambiance was perfect, low light with a DJ curating every song in the moment. The service was great very informative, when asked about menu and drink selection. The hospitality from John couldn't be any better, after I was finished with my dish, he showed me around to there omakase and rooftop deck specifically for big parties, or just a nice dinner for two. Definitely coming back again.

Stopped in for DineLA restaurant week and I am so incredibly glad I did. This spot is incredible! The ambiance is on point, very intimate but a good spot for a friend group down for a fancy dinner. The service was absolutely on point! Our server was funny and kind and checked in regularly on us. The food was absolutely amazing too! I came with a friend so we tried everything on the restaurant week menu and everything was tasty Tuna tacos- now these were hilariously small but the flavor was on point, this is probably the only dish I wouldn't order again Kabocha tempura- so incredibly thin, amazing batter, I preferred it without the truffle honey sauce but that sauce was delicious Signature chirashi cake- the star of the show for sure! Perfectly crispy rice topped with a generous amount of fish/roe/avocado Black cod- very delicate flavor, not my preferred dish but it was tasty and the eggplant that came with was amazing Ribeye- amazingly tender and perfect seasoning, loved the presentation with the 4 corners of spices that you could add to your liking Baby carrots and shishitos- both outstanding side dishes! If I had to chose between the two I would pick the carrots but don't sleep on the shishitos! And the absolutely 100% star of the show was the black sesame ice cream. Such an incredible flavor, I could have had a whole tub of that and died happy. We each got a drink so after all was said and done the total was $218. Probably not the go to spot but if you're looking for a really nice dinner place every now and again that is worth the extra cost this is your spot hands down!

Had the pleasure of dining here on New Years Eve, 2024. Took a chance based on seeing Rokusho highlighted on Infatuation, and boy, it paid off. When we arrived, we were greeted at the door with a tasty glass of champagne. Great start! The interior is stunning - unique, simplistic, and potent. The menu is creative and enticing. Service was attentive and friendly, but not overbearing. We opted for the pre fixe, 5 course menu with an accompanying champagne/sake pairing. They also offered their a la carte menu - nice to have options. Also, love that the beverage pairing was a combination of champagne and sake, and that it was 3 glasses and not super expensive. A wine pour for every course would've been too much! First course was the oysters - oh my goodness. My mouth was tingling with delight. The oysters were melon-y sweet but not overtly so, and the sake was light and refreshing. Fantastic start. The okonomiyaki was next, and we were ooohing and aahing yet again. There was a generous amount of bacon/pork belly, and it was perfect with the crisp pancake. The tuna nigiri selection was good, particularly loved the truffles. However a couple of the bites had an overwhelming amount of wasabi - not my fave. Then, the scallops - similar to the tuna, they had too much wasabi for my taste. However it was easy to remove, and once gone, the dish was delicious. The salmon roe was fresh and bursting with flavor, and the scallops were tender and melted in my mouth. The Kabocha puree was a solid base, but hard to scrape up with chopsticks! The yakitori trio was a hearty addition to the meal. The Wagyu was the best of the three, juicy, tender and flavorful. The tsune/meatball was great as well, ginger forward and yummy. The thigh yakitori was straightforward. Overall this course could've been smaller, couldn't finish it and had several courses left. The uni mazume was gooey and delightful, and tasted like the sea through and through. The pasta cook was perfect, and the noodles were gooey and bursting with ocean flavor. The final savory course was the hamachi kama. The skin was flavorful and crispy, and the soy glaze put this dish over the top. Another large portion that we couldn't finish, but so so good. Finally, the beignets with cream. The cream was good, but the beignets were way too dense and cakey. I'm surprised they called them beignets. This was a miss for us. Also learned that they only do pre fixe over the holidays, and that these dishes didn't come from the menu - that they were a specialty only offered during the holiday. Wow! So impressive that they could offer such high quality without regularly serving these items. Love the creative spirit of this. Overall the dining experience and food were incredible, ambitious, restrained and inventive. The meal was very good value too, I could barely believe the price for the food quantity and refinement. There were a few things that were off - the course timing (sometimes we had 3+ courses on our table), seating was a bit uncomfy, wasabi overload, and a disappointing dessert. But the pros outweighed the cons by a mile, and this was a night to remember. Looking forward to coming back!

We had a lovely night at Rokusho! Our server was so attentive, food came out in a timely manner, and the ambience was perfect for a date night. Favorite dish was the nigiri and the sushi cake!! The sushi cake was basically cuts of sashimi on a layer of avocado on top of crispy rice. SO GOOD! The matcha cake reminded me of the Lady M crepe cake - with thicker layers can't wait to come back

came here for the first time as a treat for my boyfriend's birthday and the ambiance was definitely more intimate and classy. servers were extremely nice though, and we were pleasantly surprised with how delicious everything was! i only captured a few of the items we ordered cause camera definitely did not eat first, but there were definitely some memorable dishes. i think they change up their menu from time to time, but when we went back in may, our favorite dishes were definitely the karrage chicken, i believe it was the tuna and negi hand roll, and the beignets/donuts that we had for dessert! the hand rolls seem to be made to order as they did take some time to come out, but the wait was well worth it each time they came to our table. i would love to come back for another special occasion in the future! parking is a little tricky/limited in the area, however, we just did valet.

Fantastic! All the dishes were unique and delicious. Great ambience and service. Highly recommend!

We had such an amazing dinner at Rokusho LA! Every bite was a work of art. Fresh, flavorful, and beautifully prepared. You can feel Chef Alex Suzuki's dedication and passion in every dish. He personally made sure each dish was perfect and the whole experience felt so personal and welcoming. Rokusho LA is easily one of the best dining experiences we've had in Los Angeles. Looking forward to more dinners there.

The toro garlic toast was pretty good - sort of like a spicy tuna crispy rice situation ... but a little fattier and more garlicky than crispy. The ginza roll was pretty good too - a lot of fish in the roll and wasn't overwhelming with too much sauce. The tempura was good too- not super oily and all your typical veg involved. The nigiri sushi were pretty well prepared. The size was pretty good for the price - and each were accompanied by a small garnish on top or a little bit of sauce brushed on. All in all - I wouldn't say it's a date night place, but is a good easy eats sushi spot for rolls and nigiri for the price. Would recommend!
