I have been going here for years!!! Mostly for the rainbow cookies (best I've ever had) but also their traditional Italian pastries. The napoleons are great, as well as the cannolis. If you want a Tiramisu, Cassata cake, or Pignoli cookies this is your place. However I was very disappointed with a red velvet cake I recently purchased for the holidays. As far as I am concerned it was just a regular birthday cake with red food coloring and whip cream frosting. Completely average. First time going here and was very suprized at the large selection of cakes cookies and pastries. I couldn't even decide what to choose. I have never been to an italian bakery before and wasn't sure what some of the products were but the owner was very helpful taking his time to explain to me what some of the products i wanted were. I ended up getting a little of everything to try and it all was delicious. The cookies were so fresh and after trying the canolis i now have a favorite. He also showed me a seasonal idem called a st. I do NOT recommend this bakery! What a rip off! They lied to me about a red velvet cake. I asked what the filling was and they told me it was CREAM CHEESE. It was whipped cream, the same as the outside!!! I called to ask for the problem to be fixed and the manager told me he would give me back HALF my money! This is a $28 cake! Red velvet is made with cream cheese frosting, NOT whipped cream frosting and filling. The manager was rude and argumentative. No way to treat customers!!! I will not be back!!! read more

The first time I experienced anything from this bakery was several months ago they had a custom cakeb that wss not only beautiful but it was delicious. I went there today for the first time to partake of dinner off their other items and I was far from disappointed their traditional Italian cookies especially the biscotti are amazing not overly sweet and not too hard just perfect. They also have the best Cannoli cream I have had in years unlike most bakeries that use premade cannoli cream they make their own the old gained way with not just chocolate chips but with citron it took me right back to childhood. I intend on being an regular here and would reccomend this bakery to everyone. read more

I remember when Il Corso had a bakery in Canarsie. So when I found this place in Valley Stream years ago and it was the same owner I was so happy. Their cakes, pastries used to be delicious. We always enjoyed the cannoli cake. but a few years ago something changed. The whipped cream does not taste fresh. I suppose using pre-made artificial whipped cream is cheaper. I stopped in there yesterday to buy my mom a strawberry shortcake. The only reason I went there was that Malverne Bake Shop was closed for vacation(BTW -excellent bakery!!). Well, I paid $24 and was greatly disappointed. IT was all fake whipped cream, very little cake and very little strawberry gel. Forget about any real strawberries in the cake, ONly some on top. huge disappointment. Never again. Reading the reviews I see I am not the only one who was unhappy with this bakery. I love this place! Everything always looks so good I can never decide what to get when I come here. My favorite are the apple turnovers, the cake pops, and the blackout cakes. My mom always says this is the best place to get a Napoleon and my sister says it's the best place for a rainbow cookie. But EVERYTHING is always so good and fresh, you wonder how a team of just a couple bakers nail it every week. The best part is that the owner is always so friendly and eager to have a quick chat. Ordered a red velvet cake for thanksgiving and specifically asked if it's going to have cream cheese frosting. They said of course. When we opened at thanksgiving dinner it was vanilla frosting. Cake was dry and bland. Was one out of 2 desserts. I called the next day and they told me to bring it in. They gave me the money but owner, I presumed, had a nasty attitude about it. The place is ok. They can work on better tiramisu and a couple other things. BUT the rest of the pastries in the place re the best and i would defiantly go back for desserts such as the nepilian and the connolis. Amazing read more
