This was the worst brunch I've ever been too. 2 hours to get food out for our table of 13. They didn't bring out everyone's food, when we canceled orders they said too bad it was already made and we had to pay for it still. Service and owners kept saying there is only one cook and that the chicken clubs are why they took so long to make anything. It's a Saturday morning and we are the only table here. We were the only ones in the restaurant when we went for brunch, but the ambiance was great! The restaurant has great light. The wood furniture felt very comfortable and homey. This was my first time at Il Vinaio and I found the service from Teena, the server, to be excellent even though the restaurant was quite busy that evening. The chef did an amazing job of making the Chicken Romano dish I ordered and the caper berries he added to the chicken dish were more than delicious. Cindy, his wife was also amazing and helpful that evening. Overall, the restaurant was a delight and a place to eat and share a meal with friends. And the food is exceptionally good and delicious! Our pre-theater dinner at Vinaio was extremely disappointing. Our server indicated that we should order both our appetizer our dinner at the same time because "the food comes out very slow as it is cooked to order" . Although we felt we had plenty of time before our show we did so on her recommendation. But the food came out extremely fast. So fast our dinner beat the appetizer to the table! We ordered a chicken pasta dish Chicken Vinaio (house specialty), and the chicken was so tough and chewy we could cut it with a knife! The chicken may have been cooked in a microwave or something. When we mentioned this to our server, she told us "That is why I gave you a steak knife"! OMG! We couldn't even eat it. We weren't offered an alternative dish or anything. The bruschetta was fine, but the potato and risotto were not hot. Food, atmosphere, ambiance, service definitely not fine dining or even close. A disappointing experience. read more

We just moved into neighborhood and am so happy we have such great place with scratch made food with local ingredients throughout their menu so close! The beer selection is great and local. They had a lot of wine options that looked interesting but I am more of a beer person. I got the bruschetta and it was awesome! We celebrated our third anniversary here yesterday! The ambience is quaint with low lighting. It was romantic and not very busy for a Friday night, but we also got there kind of late! The food was amazing! We got the Burrata caprese and the classic bruschetta as appetizers. It smelled so lovely and the freshness was absolutely insane. For entrees we got the Linguine bolognese and the Pasta Vinaio. While the bolognese was a pretty basic red meat sauce, it was yummy. But the Vinaio pasta was bomb! The white sauce was kind of tangy which complemented the chicken and peppers really well! For desert we had the limoncello cake and the cheesecake. The limoncello cake was light and refreshing and everything you need for a desert after so many heavy things. The cheesecake had an amazing rich flavor, and even came with a creme brûlée top which I thought was interesting since I've never had it like that before! Our waitress, Sally, was so helpful and attentive to all of our needs. She recommended all of our favorite things we had! The owners came out and greeted us as well! The husband/wife team is lovely, and you can really feel the love they put into the food they put out! read more

I went for the Antelope Burger after reading some reviews and fell in love with the menu. It's far more creative and diverse than I originally thought it would be. I'll be going back very soon for a couple of specialties on their menu. And the glass of Riesling was so delicious. I've gone back again after a week for something more traditional and had the Shrimp Scampi. Not a dish I normally get in the USA. So many places add far to much Garlic. A flavor I love but not when it over powers all others. Except Garlic Toast. But since the burger was so amazing I thought I'd try it. To be honest it was even better than the Scampi I had in Florence Italy which I judge all Scampi by. It was the perfect balance of garlic, butter and the love of a great chef. The shrimp were tender and delicious. After seeing their house made Antelope Jalapeño Cheddar Sausage on a to share menu, the waiter said I could even get some on my Scampi. It was fantastic. A bite of shrimp and linguini then a bit of sausage and pasta. It was Heaven. It's great to find a place that can actually make a real flavorful Scampi. read more

My boyfriend and I went to il Vinaio for the first time on Father's Day. I am celiac, he is gluten intolerant, and we were excited that they had a large gluten free menu. We told the waitress we were both GF and asked for GF menus. We also talked to her about being GF free before ordering. We ordered the GF Classic Bruschetta for an appetizer and GF beer. About halfway through the second piece of bruschetta, I started feeling like the bread was not GF. We called the waitress over and sure enough, she did not order it GF. Consuming gluten if you are celiac can be life threatening so this was not a simple mistake! She apologized and said it was because she was so busy but it was only us and one other larger table in the entire restaurant. The service was slooooow and I started feeling pretty sick so we asked for our entrees to go so we could go home. She apologized again and said she would comp the bruschetta which should be expected. Although they have a large gluten free menu, be very careful if you eat there and confirm with each dish that it is, in fact, gluten free. I normally do ask, but this time, I assumed the waitress understood and was fully aware. Never again! For entrees, I ordered the spinach and fig salad and my boyfriend order the mussels with GF pasta. Both dishes were very underwhelming and neither of us finished them. Such a disappointment on a special occasion! We definitely won't be back. read more

Chose this restaurant in particular because of their dedicated gluten-free menu, which is very much appreciated when you have a person in your party with a gluten allergy. Their gluten free breads come from a local bakery and were very good; nice wines, food was all delicious, but really...5 stars especially for the service experience - staff (our waiter Josh did a perfect job, and the hostess answering the phone was very kind when I needed to update our reservation time). Thank you, il Vinaio, for being thoughtful with your menu and considering the GF peeps. It's genuinely awesome to just sit down and look at a menu knowing what you can choose instead of poking around trying to figure out what is okay to eat when you have an allergy. read more

Unfortunately I have to give this restaurant one star. Here's why: When I walked in, the place smelled musty, greasy, and dirty (and that's while wearing a mask). The table we sat at had a couch on one side, and the fabric and pillows appeared to never have been washed. The waitress was kind, but she didn't ask all 4 of us what we wanted to drink. My iced tea was awful. My friend sent back her flat diet soda. The food was mediocre. After the 5 star reviews I read before coming here, I was just so surprised and disappointed. Also, a staff member yelled at another coworker, "Be quiet!!" at the top of her lungs. It was super uncomfortable. We were done eating so we left. I also made the mistake of using their restroom. It legitimately smelled like a Port-a-potty in the summer at a country fair. I left feeling queasy for hours because that bathroom smelled so bad. And while I was back there, I could hear the same staff lady was shouting some more at another employee. This place is so poorly run and so dirty that I would highly recommend Chef Irvine from Restaurant Impossible to come and turn it around. Or just shut it down. It was not worth the time or money. The only caveat was again that our waitress and the hostess were kind. **Added later: my friend got FOOD POISONING and threw up the next day. read more

This is my favorite restaurant I've ever found. If you want filling, flavorful, authentic Italian food, you HAVE to try it. Every dish my partner and I have tried has been amazing. Wait times are short, the atmosphere is welcoming and unrushed, and they have a great selection of drinks. There will be something for everyone. I chose this place for a nearby, weekday wine and dinner with a friend, having never been here before. I'm vegan and the website/menu mentioned vegan options. Unlike a lot of restaurants offering the same, Il Vinaio actually delivered! Our server, Dylan (I'm sorry if I got the name/spelling wrong) was delightful, attentive and so helpful. I got the garden salad, the garlic fries and the Linguini Bolognese with vegan sausage and cheese. My not vegan friend ordered the Caesar salad, regular fries and tomato soup. We, admittedly, were not very adventurous in our choices, however, we were not disappointed and everything was delicious. I would love to have the garlic fries for breakfast, lunch, and dinner, forever. The two of us shared a bottle of wine; the service was top notch.
