It was a great way to hang out with some friends on a random weeknight! This was such a fun experience! If you ever played jackbox before, it's kind of like that. Went with a group of friends and had a great time. They have different themes you can choose from and we went with the mansion where you have to complete levels in rooms. Only thing would say was the person helping us kind of made us feel awkward and didn't really acknowledge us when we arrived and had to figure out our self to check in with the iPad, but still something different to do than getting food if that's what you're looking to do with friends. read more

Came here on a Saturday night at 6 pm. I snagged a reservation that same day at 1:30 pm. I reserved the squid game's immersive game. Your party can go up to 6 people. I brought 5. My best recommendation is if you have a large group and are looking for a specific time frame. Book 1 week in advance or so. Customer service was great. Greeted and was told to sign the waivers. They explained every step very throughly & with enthusiasm! For this game you will be wearing a little hat that tracks your movements. The squid games immersive game was super fun. It was very fun with a group of people! Each game is based of the show. I posted a video of the cookie game where you avoid cracking it. The games were very fun & quite challenging I must admit! My family enjoyed it the youngest who played was 14! He enjoyed the game very much. Can't wait to come back to check out a different game for family game night. read more

My coworkers and I had such a fun experience here at Immersive Gamebox! We had a pre booked appointment for Psychedelic Mansion. Apparently it's the hardest out of the game selections. We had to work as a team to complete for 4 different categories and 15 games total in one hour. We completed 7/15. Each level gets harder and harder, but it gives you multiple chances to finish before moving on. At the end, you and your team take a 5 sec GIF. Very cool! We were given easy instructions on how to navigate the headgear beforehand. Lockers are provided to store your personal belongings. I'd love to come back and try the other games! read more

We selected the Squid Game one as a group of four and it was so much fun~~ Half of use (including myself had already seen the show so we were aware of the games we were about to play. I was curious as to how they would adapt them. Meanwhile, the other half of us did not watch them but it's not a big deal and does not provide any advantages. I primarily wish they had more instructions about the goal of the game as well as provide an example of each game before we played it as it took several tries before we were able to figure out what we were planning to do. Had such a fun time with the family doing the Squid Game! Do you have to have watched the series to play? No, but I think it is more fun if you have the back story. You'll play for an hour and the time goes by quick! You do play all six games but they are adapted so don't expect it to be exactly the same. The game is rated 16+ but that is more for difficulty level, not content. Supposedly, you can fit up to 6 players at a time but we were a party of 5 and were constantly shuffling to get out of each others way. I think 4 is probably the max for avoiding that. Also, the room gets a bit hot and, strategically, there are a couple offers for refreshments. At the end, you get your final scores and get to do a victory dance that is recorded (but not sent to you so you'll have to take your own pictures or recording to keep it). read more

We stumbled upon this store and had a blast! We had played Sandbox VR and numerous escape room but the concept of Gamebox is a little different. Gamebox has sensors on the visor hats that each player wear to control the game. You go forward to go up and step back to go down. Great group game, however, due to room size I would recommend no more than 4 ppl otherwise it'll start to feel cramped. The customer service is fast and friendly. She even gave us tips and recs. She specifically said "ducking won't do anything!" I didn't get it but it's almost a reflex while you play. Just had my daughter's birthday party here. Kids ranged from 6 to 9 years of age and they played the alien aptitude test, angry birds and the floor was lava. For 1 hour, they all had a blast and could probably play longer! Thank you Christof for your guidance in game selection and making this event successful for us. We had an amazing time with the fam. Today was our second time back. I didn't look at the calendar close enough and booked for Sunday instead of Saturday (woops!). I contacted the store via text and I explained to him what happened. He was very understanding and moved things around for us to fit us into Saturday even though it was an incredibly busy day. He explained things thoroughly and checked on us several times since we are a family of 5 with 3 little ones. He gave us the option to do 1 hour Paw Patrol or do Paw Patrol for 30 min and Alien aptitude test for 30 min. Of course, we chose the 2nd option to experience both. My kids had so much fun! Even my 3 year old was able to get a hang of it and play the games. The hour went by so fast. I had a great time here!! We had 4 adults and we played two different games. We did squid games for 60 minutes and alien aptitude test for 60 minutes. They were both a lot of fun!! Alien aptitude test: This game was sooo fun! They have 4 different mini games to play. They were all fun and challenging. You move around so much while playing it felt like I got a workout in lol. If you go I highly recommend this game! Squid Games: you play throughout the 6 games they play in the TV series. It was pretty pun. Some of the games are pretty challenging. I would say it was not as fun as the alien aptitude test but I still had a good time. We brought my mother-in-law with us from Vietnam. I really did not expect her to play for the full 2 hours with us but she also had so much fun she played the whole time! The 2 hours went by so fast. I guess it's true, time flys when you are having fun. They have free lockers for you to use and they sell some drinks. They even ask during the game if you want them to bring you any drinks right to your box while you are playing. At the end you record a quick fun gif they put on the screens and email to you. (I did not get it emailed to me but maybe I'll get it later? I had so much fun I forgot to take photos lol. I definitely want to come back and try the other games. Tucked in the mall is a fun and unique experience to enjoy with friend's family. My gf made the reservation so I cannot speak to exactly how that works, but from what I observed it was an easy process and the staff was very friendly and helpful throughout the process. We chose to do the Squid Game experience which was cool since we had all sene the show. You get to go in a private game room which has interactive walls that are screens, the headpiece you wear tracks your movements which is what the games are built around. During the Squid Game experience, your party works together as a team to complete all 6 games from the show. Some games you take individual turns and others you have get to play with other players to complete the tasks. The more you "die", the less money you get in the end. The games are strategic and require some movement so be prepared, but are easy enough to understand for everyone to play. The games are a little tricky in their own ways. Such a fun experience with friends! Went here on a double date recently and we played their Squid Game inspired game. So fun and you can still enjoy it even if you haven't watched the show. It was interesting to see how the game was adapted for the immersive experience. You'll be given visors that sense where you move. It wasn't difficult really but the sensors were super sensitive so be sure you're freezing/following the rules! I would recommend setting a reservation up if you plan to go on a weekend evening since they only have 3 rooms. Also, the rooms could fit up to 6 players but they're smaller so I'd cap it at 4 adults comfortably. Immersive Gamebox is a solid 3.5 but rounded up because of the Squid Game theme. My boyfriend and I tried SandBox VR in San Mateo and loved it! One of our first shows to watch together was Squid Games and after finding out that they had a Squid Game VR game at Immersive Gamebox, I just had to book it for the both of us!! Checking-in was a breeze. You walk-in and check-in at the iPad. Shortly after one of the staff takes you to a see through room where they begin to start your game. The staff didn't really do a good job explaining what to expect and just told us to put the headbands on and we pretty much figured things out afterwards. We started the game but noticed that the game was one player only. We had to walk out of our box to let the staff know and they apologized. We had a blast shortly after! Really depends which game you play. Temple of Coins is a blast for kids and adults, though kids might need a little help. It's a simple game where moving forward and back, left and right moves your on screen character. Collect coins, avoid walls and ghosts. It's like PacMan with a much more open play field. 4 stars, gets a little tiring and sweaty. :) Angry Birds is Angry Birds with worse controls. You can only adjust power and the "touch" screen doesn't always work, usually misreading your touch as no touch, but sometimes triggering a touch when you didn't. 2 stars for Angry Birds. Overall, the experience is fun with just enough competition and co-op to make it a good bonding experience with a streak of competitiveness.
