Great local restaurant known by locals for their delicious food and superb service. There are not many great cafes in Napa that doesn't cater to the tourists but appreciate the folks in their community. They serve exceptional Mexican inspired dishes, as well as traditional breakfast favorites.

Meeting a friend for breakfast and decided to try a new place Imola cafe . Nice atmosphere Home y' My waitress was perfect , This place is newish family owned with a Latin flare. I made the mistake of eating my home fries and toast first I can only eat half my Mexican omelette Chorizo, peppers, onions, tomatoes, good portion, loved it''

We love this place! Greatest local spot and so glad we found it years ago ( we used to go to Soscol cafe and this is the same people also Jefferson cafe is theirs) so a lot of the same menu items. Same friendly staff everywhere and we love their food. The quesadillas are huge and full of grilled chicken and cheese! My fave is also the heuvos oh MY!!!! And their fried egg sandwiches are yummy too!! All good just try it! See what you like!

1ts time here and at 1st I wasn't too impressed since the menudo looked too red but when I tried it I LOVED IT!!!! I am a very picky Mexican food eater, but this place deserves a 5 star for their menudo.

I took my daughter here for the first time. We experienced great friendly service and excellent food with large portions. The prices are average. I spent $35 with tip included for two coffees and two omelet breakfasts. I believe their menu is identical to their other restaurant, the Jefferson Cafe. I reccomend dining here for a good locals experience.

First timer and I was blown away. Fresh and full of flavor. I ordered Chilaquiles verde and it was delicious. Chilaquiles

Great spot. Inexpensive. Killer portions. I came in for lunch on Friday after looking up an inexpensive and well rated spot that was close to the office. Imola Cafe popped up first, and since it was already on my radar, I decided this was the one. First, they have breakfast foods and lunch food, which makes it hard to decide what to get. I opted for the chicken fried steak sandwich, which was on their specials menu and seemed like a good compromise between both meals. You can opt for fries or onion rings (more like onion straws, I'd say) for your side. I think salad might have been an option, too, but I'm not 100% there. The wait was short and the portions were gigantic. The picture doesn't do it justice, but the onion rings looked like a miniature mountain on my plate. I pretty regularly finish my entire plate and it wasn't happening today. Sandwich was good, piled high with cheese, avocado, tomatoes, jalapeños, and bacon. It's rare that chicken fried steak is an afterthought in any meal, but the eclectic mix of toppings were really the stars here. The only downside I can see is that they're only open til 3pm, which makes visits harder to do on most days of the week. That said, I'm planning to bring the girlfriend here for breakfast soon, and maybe this time I'll get the breakfast portion of the chicken fried steak - sans sandwich.

My breakfast plate was so good!! Yes that's gravy on my taters. Yummo!

Date of Reservation Saturday, June 6…read more The Food I'll start with the highlights: the food here was absolutely great. Everything our table ordered was delicious, cooked perfectly, and well-presented. The kitchen definitely knows what they are doing. The Service Unfortunately, the dining experience was really let down by how rushed we felt. Throughout the night, it felt like the front-of-house staff was on a mission to flip our table as fast as possible. Servers were constantly hovering and picking up plates while half of our group was still actively eating. It reached a point where one of my friends was practically interrogated about whether she was finished. They kept coming back to check on her plate so many times that she eventually just gave up, got annoyed, and told them to just take it away before she was even done. It's hard to enjoy great food when you feel like an inconvenience or a timer is ticking down. I'd love to come back for the flavors, but the staff needs to let guests actually breathe and enjoy their meals.

The nachos were really good, I wish I had asked for an extra side of salsa because all of the flavor/meat was on the top and the bottom of the bowl was just beans, still delicious but could have used more flavor. The chicken taquitos were also really good! We got 4 margaritas and two food items for $66 before tip, not bad for Napa! I'm not sure if the happy hour time is purely for winter but happy Hour from 11:30am-6pm is a great way to get the locals in!!

Our spicy margaritas came out first, with the perfect blend of sweet, sour, and spice. We sat outside in the sunshine, with no trouble finding a table with the large outdoor patio. The spicy margarita gave a nice cold relief to the spice from the food and I could have had another. Definitely worth the stop if you're in Napa or driving through.

Walked up and quickly placed our order. Food: Chips and Salsa - large variety of salsas so decided to add an order of chips to try the variety, verde was my personal favorite here bright, refreshing tomotillo with a little bit of jalapeno kick, the other salsas were okay Al pastor taco - solid, meat had decent seasoning but was hoping for more char but a solid Al pastor fresh pineapple was a nice touch Mushroom taco - not good, had an almost sour flavor, appreciated the cheese crust but the tart note from the mushrooms really put us off for this one Carne asada taco - fine, lightly seasoned, beef portion felt generous, salsa doing the heavy lifting for flavor but a solid choice Chicharrones taco - a bit disappointed, chicharrones wasn't super hot or crispy, was hoping this would be fresher but felt like the meat had been sitting for a while Service was fine, fast casual order at the counter and pick up your order from the pass when ready, everything else is self serve. Overall pretty disappointed by Mother's Tacos. Tried a variety pack of tacos and most under delivered given the rave reviews was expecting more. I was hoping to try the suadero but they were out so maybe braised meats are the way to go if you do visit would suggest visiting earlier cause 2:30pm seems like they food wasn't the freshest.

It's a small and casual operation - there's a large seating area behind the restaurant with self serve water. Limited parking out front, and the back lot (with the seating) also has some space for parking, but it's not hard to find parking in the surrounding area. The food here is awesome - deep flavors and genuinely a ton of craft in their work (tamales and tortillas made fresh, you can see them making it through the window by the register). The food is pretty classic, but just executed so well - I really don't think you can go wrong. My personal favorites are the mole enchiladas / tamales (gently sweet, smoky mole, not overly chocolatey and really balanced, especially with a side of pickles) and the fish tacos (GIGANTIC).

I felt it had all the components to be successful. I liked the texture of the batter. It also wasn't plain so that was nice. Good ingredients and flavors for sure. What came up short was the ratio of batter to fish. Way too much batter for the amount of fish. Also it was totally the wrong fish for the batter. Way too soft. I don't know how you eat these in the restaurant but they are a mess. If I'm paying almost twenty bucks for fish tacos. I think I might expect slightly more elegance. Menu did look very interesting.
