Not my favorite pizza in the area , (sauce is too sweet and bland in my opinion) but I did want to check out the new space since the renovation, and boy was I impressed! They have a gigantic bar now, lots of space for seating (high top tables near the open garage door and plenty of booths inside) and even a nice pickup area where several varieties of pizza are available by the slice. I ordered a half a ham, turkey and salami sub and they sure did load on the meat and served it with a heaping pile of chips. I also shared an order of mozzarella sticks, piping hot and served with their sauce which wasn't so bland once I doctored it with Parmesan cheese and hot pepper flakes. Our server was attentive and polite , was very impressed with the quality of service, he should really be working at a more upscale establishment (he even memorized our order) . I've been ordering from here for years since I'm a local native. The quality of food has definitely gone downhill since their big expansion. Their pizza was my favorite, but due to the increase in price over the years, I've ventured out and found other local hot spots that serve excellent if not better quality pizza! Anyways... I ordered a sub last night & you can tell that they had thrown it together. I stated exactly how I wanted it, only for it to turn out mediocre. No Mayo, no oil just a sloppy rushed sub. If you want a good sub just go to Broadway Bobby's. I'll still eat a slice of pizza occasionally from here, but it's no longer my favorite place. See what else buffalo has to offer! read more

Probably an unpopular opinion but Imperial is just not the pizza for me. Set on Abbott road in South Buffalo this place is a staple in the Queen City. However, in my opinion there are many better places to get the famed Buffalo Pizza in the City. The sauce is very sweet and the bottom of the pie was burnt. This used to be our favorite place for pizza/wings, until tonight. We ordered the large single item & bucket of wings combo. We asked for meatballs as the one item topping on the pizza (which I have been regularly ordering for over 20 years without incident). The waitress initially said meatballs weren't available as a pizza topping & then said they were. When the food came out we were initially shorted 30 wings & the pizza had ground hamburger meat scattered on it. Manager comes over (sleepy looking male w/a mustache) & says meatballs aren't available as a topping & we got a specialty pizza because of the ground beef. The check comes & it includes a $9.00 up charge for the meatballs that supposedly weren't available as a pizza topping. We were supposed to get one item on the pizza as part of the deal & the waitress refused to remove the charge. We also only received two blue cheese cups for a bucket of wings & our drinks were not refilled. There is no shortage of great pizza/wings places in Buffalo. Go somewhere where your patronage is appreciated & they don't act like they're doing you a favor by screwing up your order. This experience ruined our dinner. Came to Imperial Pizza with a small group of out of town friends. Our server was outstanding, letting our one friend sample different beers until he found one that he enjoyed. He also managed to remember our extensive order without writing it down and brought us a basket of complementary fries. The pizza and boneless wings were fantastic and the fries were hot and crispy. The girl on the phone was so incredibly sweet, the price was right, the people as we picked up were so friendly and insisted on bagging our drinks, napkins and such. But how is the pizza? True WNY style with the funky cuts, loads of cheese and little delicious greasy cups of pepperoni. A goodly amount of sauce as well. It's perfect "road pizza" even if the box is a little long. We just made an impromptu table out of it. Love their pizza and wings! Very saucy pizza - it isn't greasy but very "home"-y for a Buffalo native! Try their chicken fingers they're very good! A little char on the BBQ'd fingers was awesome. However when I stopped in tonight, I ordered a single order of BBQ fingers and was charged an extra $2 out of nowhere. My friend got the same thing and was only charged $11.01 and I was charged $13.01 (received on my bank statement). This has never happened to me in the past times I've been to Imperial, unless they changed prices. I never got a receipt from the man who took my order, either. My second favorite pizza place in Buffalo. The size matches the price. Their sauce is where it's at to be honest. It's saucy and doughy. This place is pretty far from where I live and they don't have a spot in the north towns. Since it's a drive, always call ahead before picking up. I have been a customer of Imperial Pizza for over 3 decades. We love their pizza and wings. But I have to say, ever since the new building addition things aren't the same. I know food costs and wages for unskilled labor have gone up, but $59 for a half pie and twenty (mini size) wings plus a generous $12 tip to the fast and friendly delivery guy. The size of the wings were a joke. I never knew they had mini wings. Bite size with a bone just like the normal size ones. (sarcasm) So I think my orders at Imperial will be far and few. A bit disappointed with our pizza. We live on the other side of West Seneca and it's quite a drive over to grab a pizza. The pizza was. Almost $32. I think the counter person should if never let this pizza out the door. I was not good. Over cooked and burnt in spots. It's a treat for us to order out but this was such a waste of money. Best sports bar in Buffalo- no contest. I liked it before when it was just a hole in the wall pizza counter. How it could have gotten any better was such a bonus. They have the best pizza around and the loganberry bbq wings are awesome. They have a great kids menu and kept the pizza counter which is awesome. You can order easily from their website and they have a great patio out front. They have a decent sized parking lot and there is usually street parking available- (watch the parking signs on the side streets though) read more

Ordered food for pick up tonight. Got a couple slices and ordered boneless wings. Got home with my food and the pizza was completely dry and over cooked. It tasted like cardboard. I couldn't even eat it. I also got bone-in wings instead of boneless. Called to see if they could resend me the correct order and new food, and said they'd get it out to me right away. This was about 8:30-8:40pm. I waited and hour and a half and no new food arrived. I tried to call only to see that they closed at 9. Extremely disappointed! I just moved to the Buffalo area from North Carolina where good pizza is almost impossible to find. The few places I had tried here were good, so I thought Buffalo's beloved Imperial would blow my mind. Not even close! The worst part of the pizza was definitely the sauce which should really sound the death knell for any pizza place. I thought the sauce had a strange artificial sweetness to it and somehow it tasted more like canned pasta sauce than homemade pizza sauce. The best part about the pizza was the pepperoni. It definitely wasn't anything special, but it was at least average and in pretty good supply. Unfortunately, any bite without pepperoni was just a waste of calories. Lastly, I think the customer service could be better. I reviewed another pizza place not long ago where every employee in the shop greeted me when I walked in. The Quintessential buffalo style pizza. Ordered a 1/2 pizza w/pep and mushrooms. Delicious! The sauce is on the sweet side and they are generous with the toppings. Plenty of seating and TVs to watch the Bills and Sabres. Also have a good size bar and several local beers on tap. The place is always busy and for good reason so it can be a pain to park and get out of the lot but that doesn't affect the quality of the establishment. The pizza is always good and if you like it more on the saucy side this is your place. I have tried the normal and boneless wings and for once I like the boneless better. The flavor soaks in better on boneless and they keep you wanting more when you finish them even the next day. They offer a military discount which is nice for military families. With all the Pizza joints in Buffalo, I have tried two so far. Pats Pizzeria and Marias Pizzeria. The latter two are located in Angola. My partners neighbor was raving about Imperial Pizza. It is about a 20-25minute drive there from Angola, but let me tell you, it's WORTH It. I decided to place a phone order on a Sunday when the Buffalo Bills was playing. I ordered 2 large Pizzas and a bucket of wings. Came out to about $66. When said it will take about 25minutes. So I get in my truck and start to head down. I take the Thruway because it was the fastest and most direct route there. When I finally pull up, There is almost no parking especially because I drove down a full size pickup. The guys working the counter was fast at helping other people in front of me. When It's my turn, I say I have a phone order. And they pull my order from the back. I pay and now I'm on my way home. Man the drive home was brutal. My stomach was growling so hard from the smell of the chicken and the pizza. When I finally get home, we crack open the box and it was heaven! The pizza smelt great and the wings was cooked just right. A bucket of wings was 50 pieces. I did 40 medium and 10 honey mustard. I will have to say, it was the best medium spicy and honey mustard wings I have ever tried, hands down. The pizza, oh boy, the pizza. We ordered Cheese, Mushroom and pepperoni. There was a lot of cheese which I wish they would bring it back a little, but the mushroom and pepperoni was on point. Each bite I got had very large pieces of pepperoni and mushroom. The sauce that they use in their pizza too is pretty fantastic. All I can say, Imperial Pizza has got to be one of the best pizza places I have tried so far in Buffalo, NY. If your looking for a new pizza place to try out, this is most definitely worth trying out, and worth the drive most defiantly!
