    Special - Seafood Arrabbiata

Called about a month in advance to make a dinner reservation. Their dining room is beautiful, but small, so make sure you plan ahead or try to snag a seat at the bar. Service is always pleasant. Their bread and butter basket has been consistently delicious since I started coming here. I tried the soup special, a shrimp and corn chowder. It was flavorful, creamy, and full of meat and veggies! Every time I come, the Devil's on Horseback is a must-order. If you like scallops, this is the appetizer for you- wrapped in bacon and bathed in hollandaise. For my entree, I also tried another special - the seafood arrabbiata. It was a delicious pasta with veggies, scallops, lobster, and shrimp! For dessert - the creme brulee special was a coconut cranberry flavor. The coconut was subtle, and there was a sweet cranberry puree under the custard. Overall, a delightful meal!

My husband was really wanting to try this place and we both really enjoyed it! We went for dinner and got oysters and a crab cake to start. Both were fresh! Then we split a Caesar salad and the swordfish. The swordfish was really delicious. We were happy to stop in and hope to come back again soon!

A lucky rainy day duck-in to this Chatham jewel..happily seated @ the window and had no idea how much we would enjoy our meal...chowder, local fish, and enjoyable attention to our happiness. Worth finding..

4.5/5 We've been to The Impudent Oyster many times, but this was our first visit for lunch. It's the off-season, and while the service was very friendly, it was a little spotty--they definitely seemed understaffed. Food-wise, everything was great. The calamari appetizer was especially excellent: a generous portion, and I loved the addition of artichokes and banana peppers. We ordered the "famous" scallop roll for our main. It was good, but not amazing, in my opinion. We also got the burger, which was very tasty and super filling. Overall, another solid meal!

I have been coming here for over 20 years and this place never disappoints! It is small and gets very busy in the summer so make reservations in advance. I got the seafood carbonara special which was a huge hit! We also got raw oysters, grilled oyster special with crab meat and the surf n' turf. Great service! You will not be disappointed.

Great service. Super friendly host and staff. It's such a cute old building. Love their signage and menu illustration. They said people come here for the scallop bacon sandwich so that's what we got! Wow it was a hit. We upgraded to the truffle parm garlic fries -- they were some of the best fries I've ever had. I can't stop thinking about them. They were just the right size and not too soft and not too crunchy. Just the right amount of cheese. Goldilocks French fries. They said their seafood is fresh and local! It did taste like it. We tried waking in for the dinner the night before on a Sunday but they were booked and it was 1hr or more wait for bar seating. It was packed. But for lunch it was semi-empty and we just walked in. It's on the Main Street in Chatham near a bunch of shops, businesses, restaurants, gift shops, and a park. Highly recommend if on the Cape!

Me and wifey are away for the weekend to Cape Cod. She's been browsing the google recommendation for best seafood in Chatam as we were strolling the city by walking. Called in to see if we can make a reservation for 2... only to be told they were fully booked for the night. However, the hostess let us know that they accept walk ins as long as you dont mind sitting at the bar section. Lucky enough for us when we arrive, a couple just got up and left, so there we sat down. Upon receiving the food and drink menu, one of the bartenders asked if we want a welcome bread, I said sure why not. Off to a great start, as we were too hungry we dont waste no time, wifey said they are well known for their Pesca fra diablo [ mixed seafood consists of lobster claw, clams, white fish and prawns] and I ordered steak au poivre [ medium rare]. Welcome bread is warm and fresh, generous heaps of butter in a cup, easy bite and tasty. About 15 mins in, our food arrived. We were amazed by the size of it. Generous portions and super tasty! Hands down we said to each other, we would definitely come here again to dine and hopefully get a table reservation. Geezussss, steak is cooked right to perfection. Great temperature, texture was there, easy to swallow. Sauce is on point and so is all the roasted vegs. The carrot, oh my... looks might be deceiving... sliced it and as soon as it enters my mouth, softtt and sweet. Steak wedges is AMAZEBALL, no exaggeration. I would rate this spot higher thhan Keens or Hawksmoor. My wife linguini cooked in marinara sauce [said its the town's specialty] doesnt disappoint either. Seafood is super fresh, no fishy smell or taste, clams are disgustingly delicious [no sand bites], clean thoroughly, fish pieces are also melt and soft... they DO NOT skimp on the toppings. We cant praise this place enough, totally recommended. They are fully booked for a reason and 90% were all attended by locals. The quality and ingredients they use is definitely up there.. Great atmosphere, food and service... will definitely make me a generous tipper!!!!

After 40+ years of visiting the Cape, this is definitely my favorite restaurant. We visited on a rainy, cold, cloudy Saturday in May and sat at the bar for lunch. The atmosphere is cozy and the service friendly. We started with Wellfleet Oysters and they were excellent. The house-made chips are terrific -- thick and crunchy, with no oily taste. The appetizer calamari was enough for a meal; crispy coating and a very nice greens and tomato salad. Lobster roll was also really good and at a reasonable price . Best part of the meal was the rye Manhattan!

Highly reccomended if you're staying in Chatham. Seems like reservations go pretty quick so if you're planning ahead (or have more than two people) definitely try to make a reservation. We walked in (bar seating only for walk ins) and put our name down. We were told about 45 minutes. By the time we parked the car at our hotel and walked back we waited about 15 minutes. So worth the wait. We shared an app from the specials - Thai crab cake. It combined interesting elements (crab cake, coleslaw, thai curry, and shoestring fries) that went so well together. I got the lobster ravioli from the specials. One of the best seafood pasta dishes I've ever had. The vodka sauce was creamy and they don't skimp on the scallops, shrimp, and big pieces of juicy lobster. Husband had the first dish on the main entree menu (something Diablo) he loved it. The drinks (husband got a dirty martini and an espresso martini) and mocktail (not too sweet - refreshing) were also spot on. The ambiance of the restaurant is very nice. I actually really liked the vibe at the bar. Again would definitely recommend.

I also love that there's both a full dining room and a separate bar area, so whether you're grabbing a quick lunch or sitting down with family, it fits the occasion. It's a popular spot, and you'll usually see plenty of families and larger groups enjoying a meal. The menu is full of fresh seafood and New England favorites. The clam chowder is a great way to start, and I always order the hot lobster roll. Great food, friendly service, and a comfortable atmosphere.

We started on the bar side, which was extremely busy and we couldn't find a seat for about 30 minutes. The only downside is that seating is first come, first serve, so you end up hovering around tables waiting for people to leave, which wasn't ideal. We eventually got frustrated and went next door. Even though they're separate, the bar and restaurant are connected, so you can easily walk between the two. We ended up having an amazing meal at the restaurant side, so it was definitely worth switching over. I highly recommend the lobster roll. I'm giving 4 stars mainly because of the experience on the bar side.
