Another solid entry in In-N-Out's lineup of excellent burger locations. I managed to stop by this location for a late lunch while in Mountain View and was pleased to see it is yet another great location showcasing In-N-Out's remarkable ability to make unbelievably good burgers consistently across different locations throughout California. As always, there was a long line both in the drive-through and inside, but it was not unmanageable and even seemed a little shorter than usual. I went inside and the line moved pretty well. I had my lunch in about 20 minutes and found an empty table outside to sit down and enjoy. The staff was great and my burger, as I have come to expect, was fresh and delicious, with a soft buttery bun and crispy vegetables. We typically go to the one on Grant and El Camino Real. Last night we were close to this location and decided to go through drive thru. For some reason it took much longer to get our food. In fact, the vehicle 2 spots ahead of us had a wait time of 7 plus minutes! On top of that, our grilled cheese sandwich was a bit lacking as the cheese was not thoroughly melted. Our two orders of fries were soggy and basically thrown into the bag. Argh! read more

Came here on a recent Saturday outing as Co- facilitator to feed 10 hungry and eager people. The service here I thought was great and exceeded my expectations as our group took forever to order and held up the line during lunch hour rush. No one said anything, so need to apologize from the heart. OOPS! That patient factor give's INO a one up star! I usually don't eat out at a Burger Joint's let alone INO, I have not been to one seems like MANY moons/years ago. Probably Sunnyvale. I really liked how our order was repeated to us for accuracy by the cashier, great again! We waited under ten minutes to get our order and feast. I also like how they call out the orders by intercom, they must be used to this because no one but our group seemed to be paying attention to their order. I came in on a Saturday night to a Racist cashier who wasn't in the mood to take the order from me, once she saw me approaching her to order she walk away and pulled another employee to take my order she disappeared then after I finish her treeing and paying, she came back to keep taking the order from the rest of the people behind me, this is just not right specially this times , I grew up her in Mtn view and we are a diversity city and I can't believe I was treated this way :( honestly this was embarrassing I didn't want to make a big scene at the restaurant I believe by calling the 800 number in the receipt to give my feed back was enough but no they wanted me to talk to a manager in private but when I asked on e of the employees who was the manager they pointed her the lady with the red/burgundy apron the same lady Lucy Da who refused to take my order I knew at that point it was useless if I said something to her, in the mind time my order was getting cold and my coffee was taking forever, when someone from my party approached the window to check on the order that same lady snap and told him,, just wait didn't you order 4 coffees ? Need I any explanation? In-N-Out brings incredible tasting food without holding back on its stellar service and affordable prices. This Californian staple is the place to be after a hard week's work or if you're craving some delicious fast food. You can find me here every Friday after work with my coworkers. Food-wise, a solid 4/5. My go-to order is a double-double animal style (grilled onions and sauce) and a hamburger protein style. I love just how juicy the meat is and hoe flavorful everything comes together in a nice bun. The fries are fine, but I personally like them animal style as well. The shakes are also to die for. Ease up on the salty fries! So over their double salt policy on their fries now. They are so salty they have become inedible.

I got double double animal style extra toasted with animal style fries well done. I liked it, but I think well done fries were too dry (it was on the secret menu) though I do like the buns more toasted. I'm debating animal style in the burger while I like the moisture and taste it adds, it became a little messy trying go eat it and harder to manage. All these are extras I asked for so not really complaining just sharing learnings. In the future, I would make less modifications. It also takes longer to get the fries well done for example and the buns were cold by then. read more

Double-Double animal style w/fresh ingredients Fresh Fries (which were potatoes moments earlier) Lemonade In-N-Out makes -- by far -- the best fast food burger in America. This location (on Rengstorff across from Costco in Mountain View) is right off of Hwy 101. Like most In-N-Out restaurants, this one is almost always busy. However, this is complicated by the fact that it is across 101 from Google. When Google workers get off from work, this place can be crowded. Some Yelpers have mentioned 30-minute waits in the drive thru. This is true. I've seen the drive thru line stretch across the parking lot. Thankfully, In-N-Out sends out a drive thru attendant to take your order with their tablet device. However, I recommend simply parking and walking in when the drive thru line is long. Since your food is cooked to order, you'll still have to wait about ten minutes for your order -- but that will still shave off 20 minutes from a long drive thru wait. The parking lot is fairly large. You'll often notice people parking and eating in the car (because the restaurant can often get filled too). As far as In-N-Out restaurants go, this is my favorite in the area. It is clean, friendly and consistent. read more

Oh In-N-Out, you wonderful California staple. I really don't like burgers but every time I come back to CA, I always eat In-N-Out at least once. Cheeseburger with whole grilled onion (need to specify 'whole' otherwise they will give you chopped, which is fine if that's what you want) and peppers! I usually also get a vanilla milkshake, but this time I got animal fries. They weren't great, I feel like because they microwave the fries to melt the cheese, the quality of the actual fries decreases. I was a bit sad about that. But, the cheeseburger was delicious, and I highly recommend the milkshake! read more

The burger was stale and like cardboard. There was some employee tossing slabs of cheese around on the counter. They were nice enough to remake the cardboard burger after we spent an hour with the police reporting our car was robbed while we were there for less than 10 minutes. They don't care to put up security cameras to cover the parking lot. Officer Egan had been called out 3 times to that location tonight. Totally irresponsible owner knows their parking lot is a cess pool of theft and they fail to do anything about it. Gross negligence. read more

All In-N-Out locations have long drive thru lines, it's their thing for whatever reason. But this one has by far the slowest lines. Average 45mins to an hour wait time here with 5mins per car average. Oof! read more

I must start by saying that I would give this at least 4 stars but the customer service was not the best. As the name implies we were not In-N-Out of this location in a fast manner. To say the least it took way too long and we watched other orders come and go as our burgers just sat there waiting on fries. I will add that some of those orders that were going out the door were drive through orders and I get that but don't forget about your inside customers. Anyway, enough of the negative as I do understand that this is not a typical fast food restaurant but with the menu items being simple it should not take that long. Moving on to all that is good and that being the delicious Double Double is just that. It all begins with the delicious toasted bun and that is the key. The double double comes with two patties and two pieces of American cheese. Then you add grilled onions and their special sauce called the animal sauce and you have a winning combo. Speaking of combos I always get fries on the side and they are fresh potatoes and lightly salted. If this place was on the East Coast where I live I probably would not be as obsessed because any time on the west coast I make sure I visit an In-N-Out. I just ate at In N Out Burger for the first time and the best thing I can say is that the prices were reasonable. The food, on the other hand is certainly not worth a penny more and the fries are absolute garbage and inedible. The dry texture is very strange for sure. The "shake" is some sort of a whipped froth concoction that seems to get thicker the more it melts? It doesn't really melt though. The burger was OK compared to others but not anything special. I don't get it with the great reviews except for the fact that people are sheep and really have no standards anymore. I caved in to In-N-Out as I could smell the classic american burgers grilling from afar. Mind you, I work at a generic retail store a quarter mile away. It smelled of a long weekend just past Halloween, contemplating a workweek ahead for techies in the heart of Silicon Valley. Location of the restaurant is right across from costco, within one minute from the highway. As an In-n-out burger fanatic, I give the Mountain View in-n-out a 2.5 out of 5. I arrived on a Sunday evening and every single table was filled, about 10 individuals waiting for their order. There was one person in line in front of me. Upon my arrival it took a solid 30 minutes for my order number to be called - understandably so, as they were packed and the drive thru line was also about 15 cars long on a Sunday 7:30 evening. The speed of the order was decent for being that busy. I ordered a veggie burger with grilled onions and extra tomatoes extra lettuce, extra pickles, and side of fries. The cashier did not ask if I wanted anything to drink even though I'm always asked that in every other in-N-out. As someone who avoids meat in the diet, sometimes I get a "why-are-you- not-eating-a- cow-pattie" look of disdain from food workers but the attitude was neutral tonight. That's a positive sign, considering I received the aforementioned silent judgment a year ago at the same place. The craftsmanship of the veggie burger was mediocre at best. Veggies were a tad bit soggy and the lettuce lost its crispness (compared to other locations). The veggie burger was passable; nothing special. Consists of all "fresh veggies"; they do not serve veggie patties. Fries were the highlight of the meal. I usually order fries light but I decided to try the default this time. They were crispy and salted and not overly salted, not overly cardboard, just perfect. For what it is but I would not expect techie-land to have experienced veggie burger chefs, and this In-N-out is fairly decent to get your burger fix. read more

This place gets packed on a busy weekend lunch! We came at the wrong peak time, 12:30PM on a Sunday when all the tables were filled up, even the outdoors' ones. People were standing near tables, preying on groups who appeared to be finished. However, when we were done with our meal closer to 1:30PM the place started clearing up. Thus, it's best to get here before noon or after 1:30PM to grab a meal. Otherwise you will be waiting nearly 30 minutes for your food. We were joking how we were so close to grabbing pho and that it would've been faster than in n n out. You really can't go wrong with in n out... the foods are consistently delicious and they taste the same no matter which one you go to. The workers were pretty fast; pumping out foods quickly. We were at least 20 orders behind but we got our foods in less than 30... thats about a minute per order? Not bad! The only downside is the challenge with parking. It's a tiny lot and the drive thru line blocks a few parking spots. Moreover, once you exit to get on the freeway or across to the Costco/Total Wine plaza, the intersection SUCKS. As we traveled on the 101-N in search of a good location to pull over and give my husband's car dealer an ideal location for roadside assistance, we saw the bright yellow sign, shining brightly like the glorious sun after a cold dreary winter. It was 1:00am on a Friday night. The In-N-Out would be open long enough for us to ensure sustenance. Though the place was crowded, it was very clean. We both had a cheeseburger and shared some normal fries as well as one order of animal-style fries. I've never been tempted in the past to try it, but we were famished, with our last meal having been at least 11 hours prior. I've decided never to order it again - not a fan of that much In-N-Out spread on my fries. The service was friendly as at most In-N-Outs. In fact, due to an error on my part in an exchange between the husband and I (he told me our order number was #72 and #73, and I only heard #72), they threw in free fries when we went back to pick up #73 only five minutes later. (They'd given the cheeseburger to another customer.) They handled that situation really well considering how busy they were.. and that it was really my fault. Hence the fourth star. With all the hype surrounding Five Guys, the acclaim for Shake Shack, and even the craziness of the Baconator at Wendy's, I still stand by In-N-Out Burgers. Was able to order an "animal-style" with special sauce on the side and were sure they'd give us a regular "animal style" (fried diced onions, melted cheese, and thousand island like sauce), but they did it perfectly. Never has a double double tasted so good. Still to this day I have YET to find a burger place as great as In-n-Out Burger! I used to visit the one off of Ranch 99 during my travels to the Bay Area and absolutely fell in love with this place. It's a real simple concept yet so unique and great. They only offer 2 burgers, the french fries are made fresh on the spot, and I love the fact that there's a lingo as far as how you want your burger made. If you're not familar with it, you won't get to experience it (i.e. everything w/ grilled onions). LOL! I have In-n-Out to thank for the spare tire around my gut, and also for the reason why people now call me Muffin Top. Regardless, I really do miss this place. I didn't particularly care for the sauce on the burger, and if I ever go to another in and out burger, I would make sure to order my burger without sauce. But the grilled onions were really good.
