Im originally from LA so upon hearing we were getting an IN N Out here in Vancouver after three years of missing it i was looking forward to it and its just as good as i remember it. Service is top notch and they have a ton of workers at all times. I dont think i've ever seen what looked like 30 people in one small kitchen and counter. They definitely knew how to approach the demand by having this many workers at once. The downside is the confusing drive through line, from not being able to find where it begins and where to enter, to mistakenly getting in line when the line is behind you, theres just a gap of cars in between. Im not sure how they could go about improving this as it all is elaborately planned as it is but it does make for a frustating experience regardless. The first few times family and i went, everything was great. Most recently we stopped by again and noticed the burger patty has been reduced to as thin as they can possibly get away with for a patty. It was pretty outrageous. Thats not a knock on this places service, It seems like both fast food joints and restaurants alike are trying to cut back on costs dramatically at the expense of the customer by keeping prices the same and replacing ingredients with cheaper alternatives or discreetly reducing portions altogether. My friends have been hyping me up to try In-N-Out for the longest time. I finally tried it while passing through the area! The service: The service was amazing. It was chaotic, super busy, and we STILL received our order within less than ten minutes of ordering! The employees were all incredibly nice, helpful, and energetically cheerful! Kudos to the team at In-N-Out! The environment: It's kind of a 70s style diner. The walls were painted white, and there were red accents and furniture. It was a fun vibe! There's also lots of outside seating. It was crowded when I went, but there were so many tables inside that there was room for mostly everyone. The food: The heavy part of my review, now. I had mentioned my friends had hyped up In-N-Out for me? Well, it was not worth the hype. It was good food, don't get me wrong, but it wasn't anything special. The fries were terrible, they were salted enough (they were even packaged with extra salt packets!) but the fries did not have a good texture. The burgers tasted average. Everyone in my group agreed with me, and we'd tried all three burgers (double stacked, cheeseburger, and hamburger). This used to be my fast food guilty pleasure when visiting California. Their operation is tight! The typical crowd is intimidating, but from exiting my car to reentry is less than 30 minutes. I'd much rather enjoy this fresh, high quality, in a clean restaurant with happy workers than eat at another very famous burger joint down the street. The last couple of times I've eaten in Vancouver, Washington. It's been at new places, that cook "just one thing" the first time was at the chicken, tender place, and now at the ubiquitously excellent in -n-out. I'm so happy you know exactly what you're going to get when you get. The only question is is whether you're going to get cheese on it. I have never seen people behave so happily as the people that are working here, and they have a ton of them working here full of them, and waiting at the counter for you to get there and they had these rotating cleaning crews constantly moving. Everything about this business is designed to keep the tables clean and ready for you to eat. Now I know that it is to keep the table and ready for you to eat so you can eat and get out and get more people in, but I'm good with that! Seriously, this place is awesome, has always been awesome. Still is consistently so. Any In-N-Out that I have been to is the same? They have a ton of staff to help with the massive lines which means you don't have to wait long for your food. Also the burgers they don't have a lot of options, but that means that they focus on those options and they're great. I had a cheeseburger and fries cheeseburger was delicious. The fries were great. The veg was fresh. It was hopping, and people were very cheery. Food was coming out constantly, and the staff was also cleaning the tables constantly, which is something you don't see very often. I have been waiting years for In-N-Out to finally make its way to the Portland area, and after two visits, I'm genuinely impressed! This location just opened a few weeks ago, and considering how new everything is, they're doing an amazing job. The food quality was excellent both times. I wasn't sure how the ingredients and overall consistency would translate outside of California, but they nailed it!! The burgers tasted fresh, the fries were great, and everything felt very true to the In-N-Out experience. You can definitely tell the staff is new, and everyone is putting their best foot forward, which honestly made the experience feel even more welcoming. I've never had someone check on me so many times at a fast food place before! One thing I'd recommend: if you're coming at a busy time, maybe eat inside if you can. I tried both the drive-through and dining in, and the dine-in experience was much better. The drive-through line is massive, and honestly much longer than any In-N-Out I've seen in California! I used to live in CA so I'm pretty familiar. The drive thru line is actually in a different parking lot than the restaurant itself. They overflow into a neighboring parking lot with staff directing traffic the whole way. It's organized, but it requires attention and there's a lot of stop and go, similar to when you're driving on a one lane road. Plus, if the lot is full, there's basically nowhere nearby to park and eat because all the neighboring businesses have "No In-N-Out Parking" signs posted. Decided to go in on the second day and see what the lunch crowd was up to. I much prefer to dine-in and I arrived at 11:40. I was done eating and out the door in 30 minutes. I didn't have any trouble parking as there were people coming and going constantly. I opted for a double single, no tomato, add pickle, whole grilled onion and extra toasted bun. It was exactly like I expected it and have had it at other locations. I normally don't opt for fries and a Coke, but wanted to have a full meal this time for the experience so I went all in. The staff was amazing, greeted me coming in, and even asked me what my number was so they could bring my food to the table. Super cool people working there. The great thing is the value though. For 12 bucks, I was more than satisfied. It's not uncommon to spend well over 20 dollars for the same thing at other burger joints. Other establishments in the area will have a hard time matching or beating that and I imagine you'll see a decline in burger business around the area for some time as a result. Will be interesting to see how this plays out in the next year or so. Since it's not right next to the freeway, perhaps it won't be as crowded as Ridgfield or Kaiser. I was a little apprehensive when I heard it was going in at this location despite being close to my home, but after what I experienced today, not too worried about congestion. I guess they did their homework. Lastly, gotta mention the ice cubes. They are always the best! I hope patrons continue to use the drive thru...because it means there is more room in the shop for us dine-in folks. Besides, it's beautiful inside! read more

It is a rat maze to get into even the beginning of the drive-through. There are about at-least eight turns through parking lots and there are a half dozen people standing and directing to the next twist! The person at the third to last twist, seemed to be resting as he was directing traffic to go into one of two lanes. I started going into the lane where everyone else is going, and then I realized that he was pointing the both lanes so I backed up and followed on the lane where no one else was going. You would've thought you would've wanted to ask where I wanted to go, but no he did not at that point. I am being told that I didn't stay in line and that I would have to go inside or not at all. This is not a good experience. If it's that much of a maze to get in... then you need to have people that aren't sleeping on their job!There's a mile to go just in the maze, (just to get to where you order), and there are plenty of people waiting. I'd wait before trying them again. On the saving grace, the gal that took my order she was very professional, and thoughtful. I had a burnt hamburger bun a very dry hamburger with fries that were lukewarm and the Coke needs to be changed out as it doesn't have a lot of syrup! Wasn't worth the confusion! read more

That said, the place is very well organized! I was honestly impressed. The staff was incredibly nice, friendly, and professional. Everyone seemed happy, smiling, and working efficiently, which made a big difference. As for the food, it was great! Everything tasted fresh and high quality, especially compared to other fast food spots. You can really taste the difference in the meat. I just have to give a big shoutout to this In N Out crew. Being a California native, I know all about this place. I know what to expect. But last night, I showed up with a group of friends around 10pm and the place was packed! It was so busy, almost overrun with teenagers because a bible study group had just let out. And honestly, they were all being super rowdy and annoying. My friends and I wanted to sit outside while we enjoyed our food, and the teens were basically destroying the patio... but despite all of this, every single crew member was attentive, focused, diligent in keeping the place clean, not letting the bs affect them, and I was genuinely impressed. I'm so glad Vancouver has a taste of home and my childhood, but I'm more so excited to come back to chat with some workers. Shoutout to Max and Milea, I appreciate how friendly and kind they were and interacting with them made my night! Whatever, it's been over a decade I'll wait, between the arrows and the traffic controllers, I just turned off my brain and fortified my patience. Finally, I get waved through, go left and right behind a building, and then I come to a critical juncture where there's no arrow, no traffic controller, just a sign with some trees. In n out is one of my absolute favorite places to get a quick burger. The prices and food quality are absolutely incredible. I seriously can't praise this place enough, everytime I walk into a in n out (including this one) you will receive some of the best customer service of your life.
