Bowling Green is a wonderful town. As we were driving around deciding if we should visit the Corvette Museum, we became a little hungry. My wife suggested it would be nice if we could find some samosas. So, off to India Oven we went. Inside, it is a nice place. It is clean, comfortable and had suitably muted Indian music, and on one TV it was football, on the other it was Bollywood. We were taken to a very pleasant booth by a pleasant fellow. Water, a glass of wine for my wife and an Indian beer were soon delivered and we ordered from a varied menu. Papadams, sauces and then vegetable samosas were ordered and they were of the highest quality. The filling in the samosas was excellent and the pastry was pure Goldilocks...not too crisp, not too soft; just right. We ordered lamb Rogan Josh for our main course. We choose a medium heat which was not quite hot enough for us, but we had not been here before and didn't want to overdo things. The restaurant is lovely, the service very good, the food is fabulous and all this comes in at a bargain price. We'll be back on our next trip through. read more

Doesn't look like much when you walk past but if you go inside this place has nice ambience and seating. We went in for buffet during lunch and they had variety of options in buffet. The taste is authentic and spice level is moderate so everyone can eat. read more

My mom & I were on our way home from WV & stopped to spend the night in Bowling Green. We don't eat Indian food, but I really wanted to try it. We loved it! Mom got the Chicken Tikka Masala (mild) and I got the Lamb Saag (hot). We also got the assorted breads (naan, garlic naan, and roti). We're visiting Bowling Green for the weekend and wanted to have something out of the ordinary. What a treat! Indian Oven is sparking clean, has excellent service, and.... most importantly... delicious food. My husband and I split bhindi masala (spiced okra) and a chicken dish, along with rice and garlic Naan. There was enough food for three meals. Everything came out piping hot and we were able to select the spice level (they offer mild, medium, hot, and Indian hot). We went with medium on one dish, and hot on the other, and they were spicy! The food is always very good. However, the last few times I have eaten here, the service and timeliness was lacking. I placed a to go order over the phone for two meals, arrived at the store about 20 minutes after ordering, and waited about an hour to get my food. One hour and 20 minutes was very excessive, even on a busy evening. They also have been cleaning glass top tables with windex which I don't believe is a food-safe cleaning product. read more

The lunch buffet is currently closed, so we only tried a couple things. The main dishes were just okay in my opinion. We had butter chicken and chicken tikka masala. I would rank this version the lowest among those I've tried, not bad, but nothing to get excited about. The lamb Samosas were very good, and the garlic naan was fantastic. SO SO GOOD!! We arrived at 5 when it opened and got seated with our group of 10 right away. We ordered a variety of things, garlic naan, lamb tikka masala, samosas and more. Everything was incredible, top notch indian food. The kids tried (and LOVED!) the chicken and shrimp pakora and a mild chicken masala. The staff was fabulous, friendly, prompt, smiling, and helpful. This is one of the best Indian restaurants I've been to in my whole life! It doesn't look fancy from the outside but the food is incredible. My favorite restaurant in BG!!! The staff are so friendly and always chat with us when we come in, and are super attentive. Normally I go for the lunch buffet, but because of COVID their buffet isn't available. Now we order take out - the menu and portions are HUGE, I've never had a bad meal here. I love trying different dishes every time I go but the matar paneer and chicken tikka masala are always staples. The naan is incredible and fresh and I recommend gulab jamun for dessert! They said yes, it had been reviewed by the New York Times. I was astonished. The person told me that a reporter was here from the New York Times, covering the "massacre in Bowling Green" which was a ridiculous Fox reporting that never happened and the reporter happen to eat at the Indian oven and said that the food served there was as good as anything in New York City.
