This may be my first review. I've used Yelp many times for dining assistance and have usually been steered in the right direction. I had a craving for Indian food today and decided on India Oven over other choices in town due to the widely positive reviews. I must say, that I concur with the positive feedback. Aside from perhaps one other hole-in-the-wall restaurant I found in Qatar, India Oven is the best Indian food that I've had. I ordered the lamb samosa and the lamb curry. The samosa was perfectly fried and crispy. The lamb curry was absolutely amazing!! As I portioned half of the rice and lamb on my plate, I had it in mind to take the rest back to my hotel to eat as breakfast the next morning. My plans were dashing by my inability to stop devouring the curry. Curry either with the rice or the garlic naan were both incredible. I don't usually take the time to comment on restaurants I've visited. However, in this instance, India Oven has left a lasting impression on me and deserves praise. Well done! I only hope that I can visit Bowling Green again in the future. I will definitely return to try some of the other menu offerings. read more

Ate here tonight while traveling on business. Excellent service and food. Extremely clean restaurant. I ordered a mixed green salad and a broccoli chicken dish (hot+). This is a great restaurant. I highly recommend. My only knock is that the salad was all iceberg lettuce (with cucumbers and tomatoes). I would have loved some romaine and spinach in there as well. Maybe I missed it on the menu, though. Great value for the money. You should try it! read more

Probably some of the best Indian food in Bowling Green. I have been going to this restaurant since it has first opened and shall I say I adore going here. The staff is friendly, the food is amazing, and the overall atmosphere is calm and clean. The lunch buffet is reasonably priced and the dinner menu is just as grand as the lunch menu, and the Chai tea is wonderful! Would highly recommend to anyone who enjoys Indian cuisine. read more

Passing through town headed for Mammoth Cave NP, I was surprised to see a highly rated Indian restaurant. I decided to risk it and stopped in. They offer a huge selection of food with quite a variety of proteins but I decided to play it safe with the chicken tikki masala and garlic naan. Before taking my order they brought out some wafers with two different chutneys: onion and something green (possibly mint). Whatever it was, the green one was pretty good. The onion one was not really my thing, but I don't love onions on a chutney level. Anyway, the food arrived in a timely fashion. The chicken tikki masala was good but not great. I wouldn't call it bland like a few other reviews but it definitely seemed a bit out of balance. To my taste it lacked a brightness that I've had from other recipes. I'm not a professional chef, so I don't know what would account for this - acidity possibly? I suppose more tomato paste would help, as mentioned in another review. In my opinion it was too heavy on butter and lacking on ginger and garlic. I imagine there are a lot of different recipes for tikki masala. Some people might like this variation, but to me it missed the mark. For what it's worth, the naan was phenomenal. Probably the best garlic naan I've had, honestly. Service was kind of strange. Everything seemed very hurried almost to the point of being rude. I've encountered this type of service at Indian places before though, and I think it could be some sort of misinterpreted cultural differences. Anyway, they were very timely in taking my order, refilling water and bringing the check, so nothing too worrisome. All in all, I would come back here and try other dishes, if I were from the area. With how good the naan was, I'm sure something on the menu would fit my palate. read more

It may be the best Indian restaurant in Bowling green, but not the best Indian food overall. The staff is super nice, ambience is alright, but food quality can be better. The food was bit oily and over-colored, most of the gravy tasted same. The naan bread was good though. If you are from different city, then consider exploring other options. read more

Wow, read the reviews before we stopped and 5 stars is right. Food was very, very good! Served at a nice pace. Storefront is unpretentious, yet inside glass tabletops over white cloth linen were accompanied by cloth napkins which gives the restraunt a touch of casual elegance. Attentive friendly service. Chicken Makhni & Aloo Gobhi were excellent. If we are back in this area again it will definitely be on my eat list. Yum! read more

I was looking for a different type of restaurant to eat at while in BG for a conference and came across this one. Oh my gosh I can't say enough how delicious my meal was. I got the Tandoori Shrimp and it was perfect. The naan bread was soft and poofy just like I like it. Highly recommended this if you are looking for a place to eat that is not a chain. This place has amazing food! We just moved to Bowling Green and wanted to try some local cuisine. This place knocked it out of the park with flavor. I got the chicken curry, my boyfriend got the chicken tandoori, and we got an order of assorted breads. This place has huge portions! We ate it for dinner and lunch the next day. Highly recommend. I live 1 hour and 11 minutes from this restaurant. It's worth every minute on 65. I've been here 4 times now and have been tickled 3 times and devastated the one time we drove all the way there to see them closed for a private party. Note- they still get 5 out of 5 stars though. The buffet is amazing. I'm not sure I've seen a fresher Buffet anywhere. I've eaten Indian food from coast to coast and this buffet blows them all away. I love that the food is not only fresh, it's labeled, and vegetarian and meat dishes are kept on opposite sides. The saag is the best I've had, the pakora was still hot and crunchy and the samosas were the absolute best I've ever had. The chutney is from scratch not a jar and the chai tea is as authentic as I e ever had in a restaurant. The service is fast and 'in the background' the team just mainly kept an eye on drinks and took plates away very quietly. I ordered off the menu once and while it seemed expensive but oh my god it was so good. I really didn't expect it to be better than the buffet but it was! This place is worth the drive, I look for other things to do in bowling green to give me an excuse to go here more often, if I lived closer I would probably eat here every evening read more

So... my husband and I were in town for an event at the NCM. He's vegetarian (I am not)... When we pulled into town, he asked, I wonder if we're going to find good Indian food here... I was like, probably not... just as he said that, we passed India Oven. I looked it up online and thought 5 stars, really? In Bowling Green? YES, really, in Bowling Green. It's worth every star! We were in New York last week and went to a "4.5 star restaurant there"... the food doesn't even compare. We had samosas chat, tandoori chicken tikka, malai kofta, garlic naan, gulab jamun... everything was amazing! There's a review below that basically says "I drive 65 minutes to eat here..." I went to the India Oven because I have ate at other India restaurants in Bowling Green and they just didn't taste good at all and I seen the positive Yelp reviews and thought I would give them a try. I wish I could give them 10 stars it's the best India food I have tasted besides when I make it at home. Lol. I will be coming back here next time I'm in Bowling Green. read more

Best Indian buffet I've ever had. What a delightful find to break up a 900 mile drive. The fish was crispy and moist, chicken was tender, everything really well executed and fresh, high quality ingredients. Excellent, pleasant servers. Just a great dining experience. Great food but if you miss lunch it is very expensive. They are very nice. I can't tolerate spicy food. The lamb dish I ordered was to spicy for me at the mildest level. They cooked me a chicken version because the lamb was pre spiced and sent it home with me for free. read more

Reasonably priced and my favorite mid week dinner. Their vegetable pankora and tiki masala are both fantastic. Definitely worth a taste
